The Bad Seems the B&O Fast freight lost some cars and they where rammed by the Bessimer freight train. Box cars Jacked knife onto the B&O Fast Freight track and stopped it.
Good New's? Got E-Mail from BLI and it seems I will get the Mighty I1sa back this Monday from warranty repairs. I sure hope this restores my faith in BLI Steam Engines!
First BBQ of the year and it is not going well.
Remember when we customers could trust brand names? I use to trust the name Char Broil grills. First one last 10 years, second one 13 years. This one, 4 years and I am on the second set of burners and this set is rust throught and sounds like a jet engine!

Tinplate Toddler I just got word that my Mom has passed away. She has not been a kind person all her life and there was many a day when she made the lives of my siblings and mine as miserable as she possibly could, but she was my mother. For that I loved her. Rest in peace, Mom!

My mother is 91 and in assisted living. She did not realize a power surge took out the picture on her TV. I bought her a new one and spent 2.5 hours setting it up and trying to get the remote for cable to work the TV.
She was unaware that half the numbers on the contoller didn't work, so there was no way I could program it. So I had to go to the Xfinity store.

After all these years. I thought I was the only one with a problem like this.
My mom was flipped out on opiates the last time I looked her up when I tried to save some kind of a relationship. I tried and I tried...... God only knows I tried.
When she started being mean to my Judy, that was the last straw. I just couldn't deal with it anymore.
I can relate with this harsh reality of bad blood involving direct Family that is so unfortunate.
After all was said and done. My mother did give me birth and she is my mother and I will always love her. I CAN forgive her and did. You have to do that for your own sanity and sense of well being.
I only wish I could have helped her with her problems to be a nicer person. Again God only knows I tried and so did my other siblings.
You Are Not Alone with this Ulrich. So don't ever feel that you are.
There is somewhat perfect families as they appear on the surface but not every one of us got delt those cards. The people that were raised in a somewhat normal family cannot even comprehend this.
There is no other way to look at it but very sad.
Again I am very sorry Ulrich. I completely understand your words. Believe me I do.

One of our duaghters has her birthday today. All of our adult children have their birthdays between Decemebr 18 and January 12. Two of them are on January 31, but they are two years apart.
I'm trying to catch up on a lot of stuff that is not model railroad. However, I did spend a little time in the model railroad room. I worked on another one of the Super Chief cars. I now have grab irons and details on 3 of the 8 cars. After that, I have two extra sleeping cars to work on.

Ulrich, Condolences on the passing of your mother. I fully understand your sentiments, as she sounds very much like my mother, who passed in 2011 at just shy of 97 years. Not very many good memories, but, as you say "she was my mother", and I did love her too.

Ed's old contruction photos are great! I love big construction sites, and those meet the qualifications. I love the form work, and the very labor intense process the crews went through to pour concrete back then.

Late to the model railroad party but playing catch-up.....
There was something about the Automat that screams "The Future" at you, but seriously, the food was terrible. This was fast food before there was McDonald's.

I remember the Reitz Student Union at the University Of Florida still had something similar in the 1970s when I was about 10 years old.
