Sorry to hear this Dave. If nothing else you got the club on its way and should get some sense of satisfaction out of that.

Thanks Brent,

I hope that I can soon think more positively about what I have experienced with the club, but right now that's not happening. Sorry for whining.

Dave

We listened to the Sounds of Silence

.

I like this modern version much better.

.

If you do click on it, keep an open mind and give it a chance, it is a lot different, and much more powerful, than the original.

I have had to quit the club for mental health reasons. I posted an explanation on the club related thread in the 'Layouts' section. http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/11/t/263414.aspx?page=31#3205551 Dave

Sorry to hear this Dave. If nothing else you got the club on its way and should get some sense of satisfaction out of that.

I don't enjoy clubs as I am a bit of a lone wolf. I don't have the patience for those that whine. It may be a fault I have but I will have a problem fixed before a whiner finishes their sentence. I have done a lot of volunteer work, especially in kid's sports.

We had a full medical clinic at our hockey facility, a kid would get cut and I told him to go get stitched up and get back as fast as possible. Meanwhile, his Auntie would be having a meltdown wanting to call an ambulance for a five stitch cut. I am not patient with Aunties. Nuff said.

If your not happy you should move on and look after yourself. Especially when you are as old as we are.Laugh

You guys got me started on music.  My father took me to a hockey game in 1966.  That was cool but on the way home, he let me tune in the am radio.  WCAO Johnny Dark, whose signature phrase was Whip it on Me.  We listened to the Sounds of Silence and Paint it Black.

But you didn't offer me a shot of Glenfiddich on a Saturday night Brent Sup

Thought you hit the rack, didn't want to disturb your beauty sleep. Take your pick for a nightcap Glenfiddich or Glenlivet.LaughPirate

I'm sorry I ruffled your feathers Kevin

.

No feathers are ruffled. I remember what happened last time we were playing favorite music stuff and I posted an MXPX song. Nobody likes the same thing I like in here, that is OK. I should know better than to play music games in here.

.

That being said...

.

One of my favorites from the Ramones from the post-Dee Dee era. Hard to believe this album is over 25 years old:

Henry you are good people

Thanks, but I know several who would disagree.

In another forum I have seen the following proposition:

  • Does this have to be posted?
  • Does it have to be posted by me?
  • Does it have to be posted now?

Many times I write a post and then hit delete.  Even though I believe what I wrote, I don't have to bring this forum down to Twitter's lack of standards.

Also Internet humor frequently fails even though it's intent is innocent.

Well, the love of my life just got back from Portland with great success on the doggie sex front. She brought me this, said it was way more expensive than the Glenfiddich so it must be better.Laugh I have no idea.

We went to VA and stayed at my SIL's home for 2 days.  It's a 100 year old house and the water heater is on a timer that is controlled by the a circuit breaker, which they turn off.

For a day and half I could not figure out how to make hot water.  The timer is in the root cellar, dirt floor, severely steep stairs that are about 8" deep.  I would rather just climb down a box car ladder.  I went down 4 times and couldn't figure it out.

By the afternoon of the second day, it worked, but I don't know why.  I assume pilot error.

My niece in law had a discussion with her 8 yo son about bathroom accuracy.  His excuse was that if he stood close, the splash back was too great.  Other than that, the hydraulic forces were too great for him to control.  I laughed until I cried.

There is a joke about old guys, with bad vision, at the urinal.  I couldn't quite remember it, but I googled it, couldn't find it, but what I found made me cry again.
