Is Petra able to visit you often? Is she staying nearby? Just wondering if she is there for you.

It´s just a 10 mile drive to the hospital. Petra comes to see me twice each day - to say good morning to me and to wish me a good night. It´s been hard for her while it was so hot. She hates to put the A/C on in the car - you know how hot it gets in a black car!

Happy times!

Ulrich,I couldn’t put it any better than what Dave has.

I forget which US railroad had the slogan:

"We're Pullin' For You"  But the fact remains, we're all pulling, pushing and generally imploring you to get some relief and get back to normal, soon!

Is Petra able to visit you often? Is she staying nearby? Just wondering if she is there for you.

Regards, Ed

Due to the pain, I won´t be going home today nor tomrrow.

Hang in there Ulrich!! Sooner or later the pain will go away. Now is the time to draw on your inner strength and patience. You will survive (if you don't I will kick your ass!!) Breath deeply and slowly, and think of the treats that Petra has in store for you when you get out. To heck with the doctor's orders!! (at least for one or two meals anyhow).

Look to the future! No more trips to the ER (or at least fewer trips to the ER, and hopefully none through the kitchen window ever again!!). You will finally achieve your goal of getting out from under all the threats to your safety in Germany! Things will get better!

I wish I could do more for you and Petra! Alas, you will have to wait until I win the lottery.

Chin up sir!!

"Damn the torpedos! Full speed ahead!!"

Cheers!!

More sticky buns for me, please!

The night has been awful. It has cooled down quite a lot, it even felt cold a bit during the night, but the pain is just too overwhelming for me to catch any sleep. I am on what the doctors consider to be the highest dose, so no increase. Due to the pain, I won´t be going home today nor tomrrow. They want to keep me in "for observation", whatever that is supposed to mean. I feel pretty miserable.

Happy times!

STICKEE BUNS FOR ALL!

Thanks Lion!! I'll have three!!

I love sweet, sticky treats! (although I rarely indulge). I just wish more of the fast food places like Tim Hortons here in Canada would pass out wet wipes with their stuff. A dry paper napkin just doesn't cut it, even after licking my fingers several times. Then again, if they did pass out wet wipes, it would eliminate one of my reasons for not eating sweet, sticky treats. That could get dangerous!!

Oh heck, twist my arm!! Smile, Wink & GrinLaughLaughLaughDinner

 Evening Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer please and Ulrich a Morphine Drip.

Ulrich sorry to hear the pain is getting worse. Samething happen to my wife after her knee was replaced. Doctors here in the states are hounded about giving out to high of a dose of pain killers. My wife Doctor cut back the med's sooner than he should have. But then again he never had one of his knees replaced. Whistling

Lion, you should get one of these, it's what I use.

Did you use a professional BatInstaller or did you do it yourself?

Ulrich, I am guessing they cracked your breastbone and that is what hurts more than anything. I have had more than my share of broken bones and the days following the injury are the worst. I would be asking for more pain control.

This week has been over the top busy and I am going to park my butt in front of the idiot box. Waste of time, I hate getting old.Grumpy

Tinplate Toddler
the pain was really overwhelming today. Not good.

I went through the same thing with my back surgery but was too naive to ask the hospital doctor to increase the meds. It wasn't until I saw my family doctor after I got out of the hospital that the pain meds got increased. I was taking Hydromorphone (sp?). It does cause halucinations which could be hard on Petra depending on how out of whack your brain gets, but it worked as far as the pain was concerned.

I'm surprised to hear that the hospital is not air conditioned! That will cause a lot of unnecessary suffering, as you have already found out.

Tinplate Toddler
I still hope to get out by tomorrow.

Here's hopin'!

Good luck,

Dave

Lion, you may have already answered this and I missed it, but why are you unable to get to your layout?

I don't want a sticky bun, I want a real breakfast.

The layout is in a classroom on third floor of the library building which does not have an elevator.

It is verry difficult climb stairs, but I am working on it.

Recently I have had food surgery but now I am going to have real physical theerapy on that leg and other issues so that I can get up there again.

We seem to be getting there.

Good Evening!

It has started to cool off a little, but today was not at all a good day for me. I must have developed a tolerance to the pain meds I am on, so the pain was really overwhelming today. Not good. I still hope to get out by tomorrow.

Good morning.  It's a sleepy morning after a long night of storms.  It hailed for about 20 minutes at 3:00 a.m., some up to a quarter size.  Not good for corn plants or trees.  Some of my trees look like they have very few leaves left.  Now at 9:00 a.m., it's still thundering and raining.

Look's like Monson Season is over for now in ILL. Gosh it was a beautiful day today. I even did a tad of yard work before work.

Ken, lots of times Illinois gets our weather a day or two later.  Look out!

Been busier than a cat covering poop on a marble floor lately

OK, Ray, I thought I had heard just about everything, but that's a new funny one for me!

Lots of cleanup to do outside, but with the continuing storms, I am forced to just stay inside and relax.  I'm starting a new building on the layout.  Today I will try to build a foam mockup of it to see different angles and sizes. This is fun for me.

The bacon and eggs are almost done, so that's all for today.

I even did a tad of yard work before work.

Hey Ken, Do you find you have more energy for getting yard work done now that you have gotten certain toxins out of your body?  Congratulations on quiting, BTW!!!  I am happy for you!

I haven't posted in several days, but have snuck in to sit in the back booth to listen several times.  Been busier than a cat covering poop on a marble floor lately...  The Dining Room/Office area is finally cleaned out and awaiting the contractor to come back and renovate it.  I am now moved into the living room with my office (computer, etc.) and am now back into my bedroom for tossing and turning at night.  Yesterday UPS delivered the new curtain rods for the bedroom windows, so putting up the new curtains was the main occupier of time for the evening.  (Also talking on the phone with a certain lady I am now, I think, more or less dating.... ;) )

Even spent some time on a project I am am making (background building) for the SLOW yesterday.  That project is going way too slow as time is short.

BigDaddy
. . .If I lost a $800 phone I would have backtracked and looked everywhere 3 times. Olivia evidently didn't because I didn't find the phone until 4 pm. . .

Actually, it should have been even easier. Someone else on their family plan should have been able to use the "Find My iPhone" app to locate and lock the phone. (Unless the daughter has hidden the phone from the app so mom and dad can't locate her. If this is the case, there are bigger issues in play.)
