 Eveing Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer please, Jimmy what ever he likes and leave a stein outside for Ulrich.

Today as sucked rail spikes! Sigh Part of it was due to Jerry the Dunce and it seems ever idiot in Fairview Height's stopped by! When I first open I was over  ran and I made some mistakes that I had a hard time correcting before closing. Had a woman come in looking for a $59.00 full sizes Mattress? Think she was about 4 decades off on that prices!

Marshallow Dispenser. Yep it was agian pretty much clean out again today with out being set off! Will Squirrels eat Marsallows? With me lowering the sensitinity on the pressure plate I was sure I would catch raccoon last night. In fact I was dreading doing what I needed to do this morining! Wife came out and told me something was rasien holy heck outside! Went outside to where tha trap was and I saw a squirrel run from the drection of that trap and go up a tree!

Brought In The Marshallow Dispenser and going to try to modify the pressure plate. I am going to catch something dam it!

Ed You know what I like the best about Rolling Thunder? Big Smile What ever decided to inhabit my attic hates it! As soon as I fire up either the PRR I1sa or the Bessimer SD 7 they get all quite! Laugh

 Still none smoking Ken

I hate Rust

I have quit for a while and will take it up again when my blood pressure goes down.

Yes, that's always a good idea with tech issues (or issues in general!).

In one final attemp at tech help I will ask you when the last time was that you completely shut down/restarted your computor, if your answer is a week or more try doing that! No joke, it solves 90% of tech issues!

Hello, I'm back finally.

Welcome back Jimmy, even though I haven't been here when you've been super active!

When I tryed to set up the JMRI Operations thing last summer, I got really excited about it and started getting all fancy before I knew how to do the basic's. Starting overer and following the tutorial slowly got things working again. Give it a try, it may work!

That's what upsets me.  I followed the directions word for word.  I have quit for a while and will take it up again when my blood pressure goes down.

Evening, all,

Just stopping by after work.

Steven - man, you got some problems.  I think everyone gets a crazy one at some point.  Just hang in there, and keep it professional at work.  You'll be ok.

Kevin - that sunrise photo is amazing.  Thanks for posting that!

Anyway, I got a dog to walk and tacos to make, so I'll catch you all later on!

Welcome back Jimmy!

I'm back from the north woods.  I'm surprised how things can get out of hand around the house, and yard, while I'm gone.

Oh well, it will keep me busy for the rest of the week!  Of course, just in time for a rain event.

Mike.

Good morning.  Once again, it's a beautiful morning on the plains.  After my walk, it has clouded up and it now looks like rain.

I am frustrated.  I am trying to use JMRI, and after several hours of work, I still can't get it working.  I've checked helpsites and youtube -- there's plenty of info, but none of it works.

I've gotten used to electronic things that work when you turn them on.  When I worked, I just told our tech guy what was needed, and it was done.  Unfortunately, when the job went, so did tech guy.

Garry, glad to hear surgery went well.

Can anyone hear lend me a little support?

The only support I can give is to do what I did when I retired.  I retired the phone.  I have been liberated from someone being able to contact me 24/7.  I have been liberated from checking messages and mail 100 times a day.

I know it won't work for most people, but it sure made my life 99% easier.

Edit - top of the page.  The first round is on me.  And the second.  After that, you're on your own.  The doctor told me only two drinks per day.

I was on the fence for a while about fitting a CPR Royal Hudson into the scheme of things on a New York Central, B&O, PRR model railroad. Well, there's always room for imagination, and railfan excursions YesBig Smile

Sure glad I fell off the fence in the right direction!

I hope you get your electronic gear squared away, TF. I'm not exactly following what's going on. First I thought YOU had the virus and I was going to suggest Vicks Vapo-Rub. I never had a "smart-phone" or Twitter-Box as I call them.

My mom used to spray Lysol on the old Western Electric 554 wall phone in the kitchen. No viruses, or germs for that matter Smile

Hey guys,

Kevin, sounds like the entire YMCA summer camp staff at my branch, everyone is 18-20 years old, some literally just turned 18 and are fresh out of highschool.

It's going to be a long summerLaugh

Several days and no sightings. Oh well, at least now we have lots of grape jelly to enjoy!

Save the jelly for late Summer, Dave. Ours used to stay for two or three weeks in the early Spring and return in Late Summer, too. Now they like it here so they stay all Summer. It took a few years for them to cut their migration "short".

I'd say we have three pair that call this their Summer Home Smile

The painters have finished the train room.  I saw it today and it's a perfect sky blue for my background.

Yesterday we intended to to some planting but got a call from 'birding' friends to go look for an indigo bunting and lazuli bunting in a park at the north end of the city. Score! we saw both. We had never seen either before. While on the edge of an indigo range we are well east of a lazuli range.

Congratulations! Dianne and I have only seen indigo buntings a few times. One of those times was this spring. We had one hang around for a couple of days. We also had one a few years ago that was still molting its brown winter feathers. We have seen them a few times at Point Pelee too. Sighting a rare bird is what makes birding so rewarding!

Our orioles seemed to have disappeared!CryingHuh?No Several days and no sightings. Oh well, at least now we have lots of grape jelly to enjoy!Smile, Wink & Grin

Wishing all of you birders good sightings!!

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Good Evening All,

Just dropping by for a bit. Tomorrow morning we go to Lime Rock for a test day then off to Mosport the day after that. Next week we have a race meeting at Thompson then a week off before we go to Quebec. Busy time of year for sure.

Steven, sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Not sure how it all turns out well for you but hopefully you at least break even. Unfortunately there are people out there who want to make their issues yours and all you can do is keep doing what you think is right. For the time being just make sure there are other people around at all times so no unfounded accusations can be made. Eventually the truth will come out. In the mean time be careful.

Not doing much with the layout besides cleaning for now. I am doing a little scenery here and there as I get ideas of things to try. All for now, sleep beckons (no horde of teenagers here).   Ciao, J.R.
