I've used them both. Zyrtec will make you drowsy. I find it's a good bedtime med as it puts me out pretty quickly. Claritin is a better day time pill as it doesn't put me to sleep.

Thanks Ulrich I never seen that video before. A bit creepy to say the least. May have been a little more appropriate at Halloween time.
I can usually look or watch anything taken with a grain of salt. I tend to not take things too personally. The few images where the reaper was hovering over the book, I must say I didn't care for, not in the least..... maybe sometimes I do take things personally
PS Nothing to do with you. You didn't make the video, you only posted it, Thanks again
An interesting day yesterday to say the least.
A little better than a month ago I went to take my classic car out for a romp. I didn't even get out of the driveway and my brake pedal went to the floor. Better in the driveway then somewhere else, Definitely!
My good friend, a retired mechanic came up to help me put in a new master cylinder. I got lucky (or so I thought) there was only one available in the Twin Cities area at a parts store warehouse.
To make a long story short. After we installed it, the brake pedal was so high my knee hits the steering wheel when I apply the brakes. The parts store swears it was the right part.
So back to "yesterday was an interesting day".
I went out to my friend's house to take this new master cylinder out. It was our thoughts we could swap out pushrods using the old shorter pushrod from the old master cylinder..... we could not get the push rod out of the new master cylinder. We tried everything in the book. We even tried sliding thin spark plug Gap gauges in on both sides to release the O-ring. Nothing worked.
After half a day of trying. We put the master cylinder back in the car so I could get home.....huh,...wouldn't you know it. Now the brake switch doesn't work and I have no brake lights. Sometimes old original parts don't like to be disturbed.
Well I limped myself home using the old pull the light switch one click to parking lights position when I apply the brakes trick..... that worked... like I said interesting day.
Today I ordered a new master cylinder coming from Chicago and a brake switch..... Three Times the Charm! I could probably replace three of them in the same time it took me to install the first one at this point
Funny, I just watch the second clip, You come up with the best videos Ulrich..... The guy on the bike was the first one to be brave..... or maybe stupid. I would not ride through smoke where I could not see.
Thanks.... keep them coming, always enjoyed
Noon diners,
Yesterday we built a new set of stairs for the front porch. My brother is painting it now.
Nothing on the train front.
Well I'll be around.
Steve
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
Afternoon, everybody. T-storms coming through in waves today. Not bad right now, "they" say it'll get muggy.
Replaced 2 Atlas #6 turnouts today. The old ones were brass, I got ALOT of mileage out of them. New NS ones dropped right in. Also added feeders to all three legs. Better safe than sorry. Picked up that tip on another thread on the forum. Next on the to-do list is planting Tichy Train Group whistle post and RR crossing signs. I also bought 3 of their water towers. They look just like the ones in our small towns up here(or down here for my Canada buddies!) I have some dry transfer letters I'll add for town names.
That's it for now. Hope everyone's doing good!

Good Sunday morning from "fall is in the air" The smoke went, had a nice fresh air day with a breeze off the Pacific and then got the smoke coming up from California. Now it is gently raining and it feels so good as we have only had a few drops since May.
Went to the football game with the kid last night and had a great time. Tickets first row at centre ice $200.00, beer and popcorn $45.00 parking $20.00, being an idiot and accidentally not buying enough time on the parking $75.00. What a maroon I am. It was all worth it. Someday I'll be dead and I'll miss going to the games with the kid.
I cranked up the layout yesterday and ran trains for hours. It did not start off good at all. My 2-10-4 kept derailing on many of the turnouts and I could not see anything wrong at all. I flipped the loco for a good look, I ran my fingers back and forth along the turnout and still nothing. I got the super duper mag and started looking at the switches and found minuscule bits of fiber caught in the frogs from my recent track cleaning. Now I had run trains right after the cleaning and had no issues, but since then fibers dried out and got hard and wham-o.
We had to (of course) get the Deadpool 2 video and got the Super Duper cut with all the extras. There is a chapter on the extras disc called the "Deadpool prison experiment". The kid is featured and shown quite a lot in it. He was scripted as a named actual long time X-Force mutant and thus featured along with the rest of them. Ryan Renolds is working on an X-Force movie and has stated the X-Force characters will be in it. So the kids' movie career may have some life still left in it. He is also on the blooper real.
When the video disc was released the cast got a letter reminding them about non-disclosure and all that stuff. They are ruthless when enforcing that, so I won't post any photos or anything else to jeopardize him.
Steven, you ask about the Northern Lights. We get a show on the rare occasion, not often. You also asked about "STEVE", sorry don't know what that is. Please explain.
Ken, maybe your roof leak is just a tiny hole. The best way to find a leak is to find it from inside the attic as the rain will often run down a rafter before dripping onto the ceiling.
I flipped on CNN yesterday for some reason and saw commercials for All-State car insurance, Drugs adds galore, and car adds. Every one of them was obviously filmed in Vancouver. We get the U.S. networks in Canada, however, the adds are replaced with Canadian adds because the products in the U.S. adds are mostly irrelevant to Canadians. CNN is different for some reason, we see the U.S. adds and it just seems funny seeing people on the beach in Vancouver having a wonderful life because they took a super duper pill. Especially when they have the deep South accent thrown in.
The boss is calling so have a great day.

Fall is in the air agreed! I had said something about this, I do believe last fall.
When you hear the Crickets during the day especially in the morning you know fall is coming the seasons are changing
I don't know, somebody blew it out of context and said those aren't crickets they are Sequoias Katydids whatever.... I guess someone didn't quite exactly get my gist.
Fall is here you are correct.
Sorry about your family festive parking ticket.... always seems to happen when you're trying to have fun.
You did have fun. Like you said it was all worth it

Afternoon diners,
Brent the "STEVE" is an aurora like red/purple streak in the night sky, it is some form of sky glow but separate from aurora.
Thats STEVE.
I'm considering watching some super hero movies to expand my cinematic knowledge, anyone who's more knowledgeable about them have a good place to start?
Steven, thanks for explaining about the "STEVE". I have now done my reading on the subject. Learning something every day is a good thing.
I have never seen the "STEVE", however, if you get north of 55, the Milky Way is amazing. You can see the shape of it and see where Earth sits amongst the Stars. Any further South and the light pollution from the cities affects the view. Been camping up there many a time in some remote places. Our whole planet seems pretty insignificant after you stay up to the wee hours looking at the heavens.
I have seen even better than this at times.
Can't help in the Superhero movie dept. I would often take a truckload of kids to the latest one on a rainy Saturday as my kids grew up, but to say I understood how they all related to each other is asking toooooooo much. I was only the chauffeur and popcorn buyer. My favourite Mark Twain quote. “I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.”

Window A/C I was just getting to leave to spend $300.00 I could not afford for a new A/C unit. I was going as soon as I was done cutting the rearyard weed fest. My daughter called to let us know she and my son inlaw was dropping by. My wife told them I may not be here and why. Turns out they had a used A/C in the garage we could have. While it is way to small at 5000 BTU's it is better than nothing. It will get us by with it being the end of summer. While I could sleep last night it was not cool by any means.

No one will agree with me, but as far as I am concerend, Kick-Ass starring Nicholas Cage and Chloe Grace Moretz is the most entertaining "Super Hero" movie out there.
Probably the best starting spot is the original Iron Man starring Robert Downey Junior.

Living the dream.
Evening diners,
The first and last "superhero" movie I watched was Captain America, yeah the first on.
I used to watch the old OLD Batman, but anyways.
The new Avengers Infinity War movie has piqued my interest but I know how some movies are, you can't watch episode V of star wars till you've seen Episode IV, so that's why I'm asking.
I finally got the Heavy Duty Flat Car kit, cost me 38 plus 11 shipping somebody decided to bid big time in the last minute, but I beat 'em.
I probably won't start the second Super Gondola till next payday, or at least closer to it.
But I've got plenty of stuff to do this week MRRing wise, I've got a F45 spartan cab and the heavy flat with a load.
Here's some railfanning.
I'll be around.

$49 for a flat car ???
I would have stopped at around $15 .... including shipping ! And even that is about $5 more than it's worth.
Is it just me ? Or are price's of "chunk's of plastic" just getting out of hand ?
Rust...... It's a good thing !
I started at 26 plus shipping, I got a out bid so I just bid 40 and ended up winning.
I bid on another one last week and I got out bid around 35 bucks, so I figured I'm going big or going home.

Steven - your strategy may be wrong. Your initial bid should be for the amount you are willing to pay and should not be touched again. If you don´t win it, that´s it. Never get engaged in a biiding war!
I usually pay around $50 to 60 for a used engine in excellent condition, meaning just requiring some cleaning and lubing.
Happy times!

I know Garry is going to like that one. Look at all that lattice work and the realism of the concrete platform. Quite inspiring I must say.

Ebay? My Ebay score is 1500 transactions and I don't recall ever being disappointed in any of my purchases or sales. Maybe it is luck, but mostly it is diligence, patience and willingness to pass on any item that goes above my set limits.
Cheers! Ed

Good morning everybody ..... Coffee and a donut, please.
Ed .... I'm impressed with the Model Railroad Group... I assume it is an on-line group and not a club layout somewhere. Nice CB&Q photos.

I hope everybody had a nice weekend.

Hello everyone.
richhotrainEd, you should start a separate forum thread on this topic. Non-Diners may miss this link and would certainly enjoy viewing those photos.
Well, since I really don't represent NAPM I didn't want to act as their "agent" but simply wanted to share with the folks in the diner some of the incredable work these people have done.
Heartland Division CB&QEd .... I'm impressed with the Model Railroad Group... I assume it is an on-line group and not a club layout somewhere.
They have a layout in Milwaukee, Garry.
http://www.napmltd.org/
In 1985, NAPM found what has proven to be the ideal permanent home situated beneath an easy-to-reach landmark building in the city of Milwaukee. The club's quarters are in excess of five thousand (5,000) square feet and are divided between layout, meeting room, work, and storage spaces, all accessible to members "24/365". Convenient parking and rest room facilities are provided, and even restaurants of several varieties are within a short walking distance.
I don't recall seeing them featured in M-R. Perhaps they like to "fly under the radar" and not draw too much attention to themselves?
I "follow" about thirty or-so contributors to Flickr and occasionally a NAPM photo will come up. When the shot of the California Zepher was posted I simply got the inkling to share it here.
Enjoy! Ed
Sounds like a secret society for model railroaders, just kidding.
No sign of fall around here, except for oak leafs filling up my deck.
We have a fire pit at our neighborhood waterfront and someone posted on facebook that they and their dog discovered a nest of yellow jackets, angry ones. They had to give the dog benadryl. The first person to respond to that post, took her family to the beach the next day and they got stung 5 times.
Who knew a yellow jacket nest was a tourist attraction or as Jeff Foxworthy says, here's your sign.
On the MR front, I discovered a Walters boxcar I never assembled, past KD couplers. It came with plastic sprung trucks and lots of springs. I assembled the trucks and spent about an hour an half getting the first spring in. Got the next 3 in less than 10 minutes. It's a good thing they included a lot of springs.
The trucks, which probably will be disappointing, are molded in an ugly fake rust color so I weathered them with black and rust.

I thought it was Bill Engvall that said "Here's you sign".
I hate Yellow Jackets. I was attacked a YMCA day camp when I was young, and I carry the anger to this day.
Good afternoon from life is just about perfect land. Sunny and 25c with just a hint of California smoke in the air. That could make for some interesting California wine down the road. I know some of our wineries/vineyards up here that have been masked in smoke in past years have had some really good smokey vintages as a result.
Ed, thanks for posting the NAPM pic's. Amazing work by those guys.
I have been checking out endless Facebook groups over the last year and the modeling and layouts I come across are sensational. You have to join the groups to see what they are all about, however, if they are not what you were expecting you can unjoin and thus not be inundated with the barrage of stuff you tend to get being a member. Some groups that have small memberships are some of the best as they work to very high standards.
Jason Shron shows up a lot on the "Canadian Railway Modelers" FB group with talks and hijinx and other things of note. That is worth the price of admission alone.
I have also come across groups that are general model makers not connected to trains, planes, ships or anything else in particular. A wealth of experience and knowledge and great (how to's) on everything to do with modeling.
Extruded foam seems to be the favourite go-to product for the movie industry model makers. One guy in New Zealand that worked on "The Thunderbirds" and "Lord Of The Rings" films said they buy it by the truckload.
I have bought a few things at online auctions and have gotten tremendous deals as far as I am concerned. One was a brass Great Northern Pacific for $36.00. I put a $51.00 max bid in and was really surprised I got it. I also got a new in box Bachmann Spectrum 4-4-0 DCC/Sound for $200.00 which was way cheaper than any other price I had found and I had been looking for quite a while. We have a mailbox just over the border in the U.S. and quite often I'll get free shipping to the U.S. while the same thing is big bucks going international. Even if we order things from Europe or China it can be cheaper to the U.S. than to Canada.
I have found that the more higher end the MRR product the less likely you are to find a deal on it. Probably because there are fewer made. But I'll keep looking.
I wrote back to the guy that sold me the BS 4-4-0 and asked if he would sell me another one for that price and he said no. He had gotten that one at a bankruptcy auction and it was a one-off.
I only buy things I really want or need and money can burn as big a hole in my pocket as it wants to. At least then I know I don't have to go looking for money if I really want something all of a sudden. I ended up buying some Walthers code 83 track for $30.00 a 10 piece box and have them all still unopened. I will use them someday but just could not pass the offer by.
I bought some really nice Scotch when we were on Vancouver Island and I think it is that time, soooooo.
SeeYou190I thought it was Bill Engvall that said "Here's you sign".
I think you are right. There used to be a show that had Engvall Foxworthy and Larry the Cable guy.
Speaking of stinging, Ocean City, MD has an infestation "sea lice" Juvenille jellyfish that are too small to see, but find their way into your bath suit and sting you in areas of friction, like your crotch. Naked, you are OK. I ran into them a couple years ago. They don't measure up to yellow jackets tho'
Evening folks,
Ordered a set of 5 new tires for my truck, it's time to replace them and the reason I'm going ahead and replacing them all so they match.
I got my SDP40 shell in the mail, the roof of the cab is a separate part so all I have to do is chop the cab off and then do what I got to to the F45.
I'm going to have to work on the cab windows some because the top of the window frame is part of the cab roof! So I gotta figure that out.
Evening All!
Hobby Front: The projects are getting there. The passenger platforms and the gable ends have been painted to the appropriate colors. (Platforms to Aged Concrete and the gables to MEC Green.) The gables have also been glued into the roofs. Next step is to glue the platforms together and the roofs together.
The dome-observation car has had the rear mount plate moved up about a 1/4" to allow for clearance with the Athearn trucks. The parts are also seeing the paint shop. (Body to Green, roof and trucks to black.) I might also get the coach shell and trucks painted while I'm at it as the shell just needs paint to be ready.
Eveing Diners
Work Front, well I have seen bigger mess but they normal come from incoming Artillery Rounds! I went to work 45 minutes early and was still scratching my head 1.5 hours later? I am staring to miss working full time with Nancy and Jerry the being there on the weekend. Neither have a clue to what goes with what and what it is.
Plus I had a late customer and got out 45 minutes late. Well they bought and I made a extra $100.00 so it was worth it. But still made for a long, long day.
Ed The first photo all most fooled me, it was not till I blew up the photo that I could tell it was a modle! to them and thank you for posting.
I am beat, so later.
