Just made it back home from Orlando. Drove up to visit the remaining Florida Daughters. Big Smile

.

The air conditioner is running again so I guess winter is over. 82 degrees outside. No more cold snaps on the forecast.

.

Really beginning to anticipate my annual Superbowl party in a couple of weeks.

.

Have fun everyone!

Evening diners I'll take some of that tin off the roof.

Great football day. I was sad to see the Titans lose. Wasn't surprised though the Patriots have been a heck of a ball team for a long time.

The Vikings and Philadelphia next. Wow I'm psyched. Great football today.

Tomorrow I have to have my truck to my mechanics at 8:30 in the morning to get a new wheel bearing put in the front end. Hopefully Damien my mechanic gets it done pretty quick in the morning.  Afterwards I have to drive up to Wisconsin in a major snow storm up here in Minnesota to pick up my wife and her sister. Looks like I'm probably going to be a bit tired for work on Tuesday.

Hopefully you guys are into football on top of model railroading. I'm hopeful, I just think it would be great if the Vikings could play Super Bowl for the first time in their brand new stadium.

Drove up to the Shubenacadie River to watch the ice flow out toward the Bay of Fundy with the tide. It was a spectacular winter scene. making a nice hot chocolate and sitting by the wood stove to warm up.

For all you Philadelphia Eagle fans.

More power to you. Not. I do not have a good feeling about this. I can't believe nobody chimes in, this is very serious football here.Indifferent

I just have not been into football in a long time. When I was younger I loved it. I also loved listenging to NBA games on the radio , but I have not paid attention to that in a long time. Baseball is about the only thing I keep up with now. My Hometwon Astros won it all this year ( of course i do not live there anymore, they wait until I leave.)

Evening diners.    I will take the Canadian walleye fillet

For real I never had a good feeling about this. I was quite apprehensive but just a little bit hopeful. Philly is just to sharp of ball team. I was telling my buddy early November it will be the Patriots and the Eagles in the Super Bowl. I was just hopeful for the Vikings when they started showing some thread.

What a mess. Oh well maybe next year.    Track fiddler

 Eveing Diners! Big Smile

Flo, the gang will have a Beer give Rick and Steven a RBF, leave a Stein outside for Ulrich and what the heck, give Nancy a Beer to put out the FLAMES! Laugh

Work Front I was well intertained today and enjoyed immensely! Laugh Nancy butted into a sale I was getting close to get done. All that was left was to get the price close to what he wanted to spend. He wanted to spend $500.00 and I was at $550.00 so it was just about there. Then Nancy Butted in! Bang Head Tried to foce feed him a mattress I had all ready showed him for $1200.00 Forced him to lay on it and demaned he give her his car keys 3 times so she could make him lay on them! I could tell he was getting PO'ed from where I was sitting! Whistling

Did that stop Nancy? Heck NO! Kept pushing and pushing! Finally he stood up, told his Wife, lets go and walked out the door while while Nancy was saying " Stanely what about the other mattress, I will give you a Great Prices!" He told her you could not give me the mattress for free and then someting about a stupid female dog?  LaughBow Smile

OK, I lost $7.00 in spiff but I really enjoyed seeing her put in her places! Yes

Steven It is a Grider bridge. I really like the looks, but after 8 years well I guess I will never use it.

 Later, Ken

Evening diners, I'll take a bowl of chocolate custard...

I am more of a college football guy than NFL... even then it doesn't keep my focus very long, not really into sports...

Ken, a girder bridge sound great!

Sorry to hear about Nancy, may I ask why the management hasn't canned her?

I'm outta here for now I'll stop in again later.

Good evening all.

Flo - I will take that RBF from Ken, thanks man!

Steven SWPNWP - IIRC, Nancy is related to the owner of the store Ken works at. So she has the ultimate "Get out of Jail Free" card there... Or, to reference The Three Musketeers, a Carte' Blanche.

As I see its in the topic tonight... Whistling

Football - Go Pack Go! Smile, Wink & Grin I was hoping it would be Vikings (it is their stadium this year, and they made it so close.... until today...) Vrs. Jaguars... Good thing I'm not a gambling man! Laugh

Other sports - Cleveland Indians, (WITH Chief Wahoo, thank you!) in MLB, NASCAR is Johnson/Team Hendricks Motorsports. (Although, that CSX Sponsored car is nice, as a railfan. Smile, Wink & Grin) It was Gordon, then Johnson/Gordon, Then Johnson/Jr, now, Johnson/Hendricks (Leaning towards Chase Elliott as driver 2...)

However, NASCAR is not as big for me as it used to be... They are doing to many "stupid" rule changes, like the Stage racing, and the Chase format. (And this year, the new Pit road rules... Rule changes just for the sake of rule changes rarely go over good.)

In INDY, it's Andretti, any day. (I was a big Michael fan when he ran. No I root for Marco.)

F1 I don't follow much. (Those are Rocketships on wheels... And they take a Rocket Scientist to understand them!)

I'm not too into Basketball, and dislike watching Boxing, (especially when they break out into a impromptu hockey match Laugh)  and never liked MMA/WWE, (or real boxing!) and never got too into Drag Racing.

If I were "forced" to pick, in Basketball it would be Cav's, NHL Penguins. (No clue on the others.) NHRA if John Force still drives, him, but I don't follow that form of racing.

Weather - Warmer today, even warmer tomorrow. Then we go back to snow mid-week, beforeyet another warm up following that. But certainly better than a couple areas who had a possible twister today...

W*^k - All day tomorrow.....

Hope al are well, and all enjoy the Night!

I am a Indy 500 guy too! Go Andretti! Down with the curse! In Pro Football if I had to pick I'd go Giants or maybe Bills...

Again if asked MLB would be the Mets...

College is Irish AND Longhorns!

That's it for sports...

Any car guys in the diner?

I'm a Ford guy through and through... Dream cars? 69 Mustang Fastback, and then a 67 Galaxie 500 convertible...

Well that's all folks...

P.S. I did not mean any disrespect to anyone or their opinions...

Gidday Chloe, a large glass of cold ginger beer, please. It’s been another hot sticky day!!

Big Daddy, thanks for digging out that video of those Baldwin locomotives being loaded. Between 1879 to 1915, Baldwin supplied 109 (?) 3 foot six inch gauge locomotives to New Zealand. Wd 357, 2-6-4T, is the only Baldwin built locomotive that has survived intact, unfortunately none of the first Pacific class of locomotives, the 1901 built, Q class 4-6-2 have been preserved.
As I write this it seems terribly trite, but I can only offer my hope that your OHs chemo is, eventually, worthwhile.

Being a ‘Vinyl Wrinkly”, I would generally say that good (a very subjective word in this context) music should be just listened to through a good quality stereo system with good speakers or headphones. I’m reasonably certain, Richard that there never was an “official video” for “Pirates”, and that it would appear there are a number of ffolkes whose hobby (?) is putting video to music.

While I ‘m lucky to have a catholic taste in music, I’d have to say that I would gravitate towards “Prog Rock” and while I was somewhat dubious when I first approached this illustrated offering of Genesis’s “Suppers Ready”, I do think, on the whole, it’s done the song justice.

Good morning ....

Lots of rain now. We are having thunderstorms. The front currently extends north and south from Lake Michigan south through western KY, and down to the Louisiana Gulf Coast. It is moving east.

Cars .... I've had more Chevy's than any other make most of my life. I have had my Chevy Avalanche for many years, and I am still very pleased with it. My wife got a new Buick Enclave a few weeks ago, and it is doing well. For fun I have a 1984 Porsche 928s.

Trains .... That's what really matters to me. ... I've enjoyed model trains my whole life. I like watching real trains, and worked for a railroad for much of my career.

I continue working on my current layout which I began after we moved into this house in 2001. The layout always has projects for me to work on.

How'd I get started on all of that ? .... Oh yeah..... Cars was a topic. I mentioned cars and got side-tracked. LOL

As a Patriot fan, I'm used to winning close games in the last few minutes.

I would have liked to see the Vikings win it, but they played very poorly.

Good morning Diners,

Brunhilda, I'll have an extra large coffee with lots of cream, please.

I kind of got soured on pro sports this last year.  In football I root for Chiefs and Chargers (since like 1961).  I have issues with organizations who just up and leave communities who've supported them for 50 years or more.  I know it's economics, but still....   Haven't watched football all year and don't care to.

In college, Jayhawks (Kansas), and USC and UCLA.

Baseball, Dodgers.

Hockey, MOH likes Blackhawks.  I lean a little to the Bruins, but Blackhawks are ok,....I suppose.  Big Smile

Auto racing, I like Indy cars.  A company I used to work for was a sponsor for Andretti-Green for a while.  The 500 has to be seen live!  Like the rose parade, TV just does not do it justice.  You can't understand how fast those cars are actually going until you see them live.

Bicycle racing, I kind of like the Tour.  MOH and I used to go to the Encino Velodrome often.  I like the track races.

We watch both winter and summer Olympics.

And, I'll watch about any surf comp in its on TV.

But, I don't get too excited about any sports.  They're just a diversion.

Cars: We're pretty much a Honda family, but we've had quite a few different cars. One thing I like is stick shift, but they're getting hard to find.  I've wanted a Beemer and/or a Vette for a long time.  Not likely to happen.

Trains:  UP and SP.

Hello to everyone, and I hope everyone is OK, safe, and warm.

Less is more,...more or less!

Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)

When I was in High School I drove a 1966 Mercury S-55 hardtop with a 428 under the hood. Had it for only 3 years when a semi truck hit it while it was parked. Insurance totalled it for $1,200.00.

.

.

Then I bought a brand new F150 in 1989. I drove it for 18 years an put about 300,000 miles on it.

.

In 2008 I bought a Chevy Colorado. It has almost 150,000 miles now.

My wife gets a new car every 2-3 years!
