Good Morning all
Flo can I have some of that colored cardboard called bad ticker food and a French Roast with no cream or sugar. . Must confess I had a set back last night. Fell asleep on the coach and when I woke up I went to the frig for a cold bottle of water and what did I see ! left over cookies and cream PIE ! Unfortunately there is a about a third less now than there was earlier that night I know the food Nazi will eventuially discover my indiscretions. So back on the wagon today. Salad with water down dressing and cardboard with seasoning. Feeling better as the days go forward. Less pain, little more energy.
Ulrich - It is amazing that you survived a hit of that kind. You are VERY fortunate. I was hit at only 55mph and I was in therapy for three years with some long term disabilities ! Z scale who can see that stuff ???
Howmus - Go ahead and eat the pumpkin pie. I will just sit downwind and enjoy the aroma as it wafts by
Cuda - Yes ask them LOTS of questions. By the way I think you look better now than you did then !
Lion - SO Glad they didnt mistake you for a mtn lion and cart you off to the far reaches of California mtns !
Grump Doug - So your family is a Nazi about you doing the yard work ?
Garry - That is a real problem that I have to watch. It is very easy to think I am doing okay and then do to much
UP831 - HOWDY ! Yes I did. There was basically an electric short in the heart and they had to go in and remove the offending circuit. Very uncomfortable afterwards ! But the ole ticker is beating smoothly now How are you doing ?
I sent an email to Galaxy yesterday. Have not heard back from him. Does anyone have his phone number ? Ken do you have it ?
Back to the ole rock pile chip bang, bang chip.....

Heartland Division CB&QZ scale would be hard for me to work with
Garry - I have to chime in into this song. I am having problems handling my HO scale narrow gauge stuff and I don´t think I can cope with anything smaller. Going bigger is out of question - just out of reach in terms of cost and space. I need to figure out what I will be doing in the future. As I said earlier, I´ll bring my current layout into a state in which I can sell it for reasonable money. Whatever I will get for it, will have to go into the piggy bank which says "move" on it. Maybe I can dabble with a briefcase or box layout in whatever scale comes handy. I already find my 3 by 5 ft. layout "too big" at the moment.
Speaking of heart clinic - mine is attached to the University of Hamburg hospital and belongs to the 3 best places in Germany - that´s a little bit reassuring.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of heritage flakes organic cereal, skim milk, and a pot of Marrakesh Express Dark Roast Organic Coffee this morning. Oh bring over the crossword puzzle page from yesterday's paper as well.
The PiP is in for repairs today! Got a ride home from the Body Shop and they will call and come pick me up when it is done (probably mid afternoon). I need to get in contact with the vet for how to handle the days I will be at the Convention in Ottawa, Canada. The lady who I have come and take care of the kitties in the morning and give Blackie his insulin will be away that weekend so I now have a bit of a problem.... My son can come over in the evening after work and feed the kitties. clean the litter box, and give Blackie his insulin, but..... That will be almost 12 hours off from his schedule and I want to get the vet's advise on what to do (if she will even OK the evening dosage...).
Garry, you are absolutely right on the Heart Clinic! In the Finger Lakes the leader in Heart Medicine is Strong Memorial Hospital of the University of Rochester. There is now a large coalition of hospitals in the region that all work together. Our local little Horsepiddle here in Geneva is part of that. So, any heart attacks or problems get moved to Strong by Ambulance or Air lifted, depending quickly. Has made a big difference in the outcomes for many people.
Sun is busy shining outside once again today! The solar panel output has averaged a little over 25kWh per day for the last week... 175kWh in one week! That is excellent for the size of my system. And since the temperatrue has been moderate, the Air Conditioner has not been turned on nor has the furnace run very often during the night. That all means that I should have a good surplus of power at the end of the month.... I usually make more electric than I use during about 5 months every year. Now the surplus some months will only be a few kWh but it is nice as those surplus kWh are used against the amount used in the other 7 months of the year.
So... Galaxy and Barry, where are you guys? We miss you and are keeping you in our prayers hoping you are both doing well!
Catch you all later!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Hello Ulrich ... Glad you are here. Z scale would be hard for me to work with, but glad you showed it.
Ken ... Those photos of you and your Roar Runner are remarkable.
Lion ... Interesting photo of lions laying under the wing.
DougDagRump .... If people ask me for suggestions about heart conditions, I say to make sure they are at the best heart clinic they can find. I go to Vanderbilt Heart Failure Clinic which is affiliated with Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. I think there is much to be said about going to a clinic connected with a major research hospital.
I'll sit at the Rivit Counter hoping more Diners show up.

Good Morning!
Janie, just for me please, Petra is in the kitchen, getting lunch ready for us.
We are enjoying typical April weather, a mix of ra*n, storm and sunshine - all of that within 30 minutes.
I don´t have any plans for the rest of the day, mybe I will go through my MR stuff to see what I can sell to make some extra money. There are two items I won´t sell in any case, that´s my Marklin class 194 electric I got from Petra and my WMC HOn3 D&RGW T-12. I have a couple of unbuilt kits and some cars to sell. Won´t bring a fortune, but any amount helps to feed the piggy bank labeled "move". We have to get out of here, the place and, foremost, our neighbors make me sick.
There was a train show last weekend I wish I could have attended. The layouts on display are all Z scale layouts. I have watched a vidio and I must say that Z scale has left the ranks of a toy and is now eligible for some serious modeling. But see for yourself:
Enjoy!
I hope we got some news on Barry and Galaxy!
CUL!
Evening Dinners
Flo, Beer please.
Work Front Another boring day, but better than yesterday with a $1200.00 sale. Spent a lot of time on the phone with Larry Morris a fellow employee of this company. I call him Big Mo after the the Battleship. Great guy and I love talking with him. He works at the store that The Jerry maybe going to I hope, I hope! He is far from being happy about it, but he loved to hear the stupid stuff that The Jerry did at my store.
Talk with Nancy some today about the Jerry. Hum, I think she is starting to see that he is not the sharpest Knife in the drawer. Marvin now just call's him a warm body.
yougottawantaKen - same here. I think it is so they can sucker you in!
YGW I think they are just (tongue in check) send a camera up my vein. Right now I wish we had a blowing chunk's faces! But, I will ask a lot of questions if that is what they are going to do!
Days Off I would love to get some fence boards up this 2 days off. All so drag out some more tree's and vines. But weather guesser's say there is a 40% chances of

YGW, Got a chuckle out of your "food nazi" comparison, my family members had/have the same approach when it comes to yard work.
Garry, Nice to see somebody with CHF who has a fifteen year survival history. Especially when youu read some of the medical reports regarding CHF. Barry and I have shared some suggesstions and ideas when he visited the Toy Train forum since he also had CHF.

Good afternoon ..
Evidently, we should put up a yellow ribbon for Barry and Galaxy. Hope thye can return to the Diner soon.
DougDagRump .... Nice of you to visit the Diner. It has been a few days since Barry's wife, Audrey, posted an update. Barry was having a tough time in the hospital. ... You said you have CHF. My CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) is 15 years and counting.
Ken ... That might be Galaxy's problem, and it would be sad if that was the case. Glad you can work, and hope you will be okay now.
YGW... Don't do too much too fast. We don't want you to have another problem.
JohnBoy .... It sounds like you are about to start a good trip to see your family. If you are interested there is a model railroader with a very nice layout near Bozeman. I certainly hope you are around many more years beyond 2017.
Ulrich ... Some of our experiences are similar. ... Long ago, I had a car accident which still bothers me. In my case it was a drunk driver driving into my drivers door while I was driving. It broke some of my vertebrae.
V8 Dennis .... Your mountain lion was in the national news. Sounds like the authorities did a good job with a challenging situation.
Steven ... Your recent comments are appreciated.
Ray ... You received a well deserved "well done" .
Mr. B. ... It would be very good to see that old train station.
...
I still don't have enough time for working on the layout, but I have done some work on the track in the past couple of days .
Have a nice day, everybody.
Good Afternoon Diners,
Flo, I'll have an extra large cup of coffee with lots of cream, please.
i only have time for a quick note during lunch, so I won't make any pretense as to knowing what's happening to everyone.
YGW: I understand you just went through a heart procedure. I hope you fully recover and that you're back in the saddle soon. As far as Isa 5:20 goes, that and then some. Nuff said On that.
i hope everyone who is sick or hospitalized recovers quickly.
Mr. B: I had the opportunity to see a revolutionary war re-enactment at Cantigny last fall. Fascinating! I was most struck about how the officers in assembly would lower their swords to their side, remove their hats and take a step back as in a gesture of service, not command. These people had principles undreamed of in today's society. I digress.
Anyway, Hello to everyone and I hope everyone is OK, safe, and warm.
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
yougottawantaUlrich - Which arm do you have in a sling ? Left ? Is it related to your heart condition ?
Fortunately not! It´s my right shoulder. It had received quite a beating in a car accident decades ago, when a Dutchman decided to park his car inside mine while he was doing 100mph. I was fortunate to drive my Dad´s car, a Mercedes S 350, when the guy rear-ended it. He did not make it, while I escaped with a broken shoulder and some minor cuts and bruises.
yougottawantaNo I had an "Oblation" it is where they get to the heart by going through the veins around ones groin ( ouch !) and travel into the heart
I had that done a couple of years ago and remember it to be quite painful - afterwards.
Amazingly back at w**k still tender. Little dizzy. But for the most part holding my own. Things didnt go to far south while I was out.
Steve wrote "rename the Diner to the Jeffrey S. Wimberly Memorial Hospital Cafeteria." really Steve ! Is kind of true right now though isnt it !
Ulrich - Which arm do you have in a sling ? Left ? Is it related to your heart condition ?
Howmus !!! Really !! Pumpkin pie ? Hey will you share some of that so I can wash down this cardboard stuff called food ? All three of my daughters and MOH have turned into food Nazis of the worst kind ! I have lost 20 pds and guess how they celebrated? They had cookies and cream pie - and they wouldnt share even a cookie piece with me! I tried to even buy a piece for a dollar ( it has been a year since I had and oreo cookie ) and they still wouldnt give me any. I guess there is a sign hung around me "dont feed the bear "
Grumpy doug - What is CHF ?
Mr. B - Yea I agree we are living Isaiah 5:20 times ! Without getting to political. NEVER in my life would I have believed that men dressed as women would be acceptable.
V8 - Hey that wasnt Lion they shot ? Is he still here ? Or in some strange mtn place with out trains ?
Lion ????They didnt shoot you did they ? Are you still around ?
Johnboy - Grats on the sons Nuptials ! Glad for your wife I bet she is excited. That is good stuff. Here is a for safe travels for you and yours
Ken - same here. I think it is so they can sucker you in! If I had known what was coming I would have insisted on a different outcome ! Starting with sticking to start time. Having food in place when I got out. STRONGER pain meds ! And cleaning all of the blood up after the surgery. They left me very bloody and I couldnt wash up for two days !!!
Garry - No it was private insurance. What I think went wrong was there was a person ahead of me who had very serious heart issues and her surgery went dbl in time which pushed everyone else behind her way out. Then it was Friday. I will NEVER schedule another surgery at the end of the day Friday. That is when most folks are thinking about the weekend ! Thanks for the prayers.
Angel - Hope your swamp cooler gets fixed - every time I here that things name I think of some broken down Lousinna alligater infested swamp shack. Sorry no disrespect intended.
Chris - thanks for the photo. Man that is a large flower !
Cats think - That is a good thing no shortage of MRR projects !!
Henry - No I had an "Oblation" it is where they get to the heart by going through the veins around ones groin ( ouch !) and travel into the heart and freeze burn out the crossed electrical circuit. Have any photos of renacters ? I know from the civil war buffs around here they get pretty crazy about the perfection of there outfits and associated gear.
Neat re-ancters story - Once while visiting a living history civil war camp in the Markham Va area where the confederate patriots had set up camp, the confederate troops heard a train whistle from a distance. As I watched they formed ranks and marched over to the tracks where, with a few quick orders the men lined up next to the track. As the train approached they took off there hats and cheered and whooped as the engineer went by. The engineer for his part hung out the window of his NS locomative and waved his hat and cheered right back at them. Pretty fun to watch !
Want to say thanks for all of the prayers and good wishes. You have no idea what a differenc thats makes. I appreciate you all and any time I can do the same for you just let me know.
Gotta git back to w**k

Afternoon Diners,

Good Evening!
Just stopping to say hello and enjoy a with friends.
A boring day, but without major pain in my shoulder. I kept my right arm in a sling, which may have helped.
I am worried about our two key MIA´s, Barry and Galaxy. I wish we´d get an update on both of them.
No news about Petra´s aunt in Oregon, which is good.
CU!
Afternoon folks,
Chloe, I'll have a piece of that pumpkin pie you have over there, put a dolup of whipped cream on it and bring me a cup of your bhest dark raost decaf for lunch. Yeah I have reached the age that I am starting to get like my FIL was. To heck with eating what I am supposed to, just give the pie and a fork and I will be happy. hey, he lived to be 95 so It can't be too bad for you....
Planned on getting in here for breakfast, but I ended up having to deal with a whole bunch of emails that required more than a quick answer. Those type of "correct" replies that make or break the work that is trying to get done..... One was from a member of the MLK committee who was not at and won't be at any of the meetings we hold with and for the scholarship applicants, but wanted more personal information than what had been sent out. She also wanted to know which of the applicants the Guidance Councilors at school think should get the scholarships. I took about an hour to write a very tactfull answer that was sent to the whole committee letting her know that 1. the guidance councilors represent each of the candidates equally and would be very out of place telling us who should get the scholarships and 2. the information sent out to the whole committee is personal and may not under any circumstances be shared outside the committee! That is a legal view! I also told the whole committee that only those members who come to the interviews will get any voice on who is chosen to recieve the sholarships. Period! And no more information will be given out to the committee as a whole than what they already have. Got an almost immediate reply from the Vice-Pres of the committee who works for the NYS Court System (drug court) who just said, "Well done!"
Answered a long email about the new changes to the church Sanctuary where I outlined the things I am currently working on with the Pastor and Properties committee to continue improving the sound in the space. That again was one where I wanted to carefully choose my words. Then had to deal with items for the NMRA meet coming up this Saturday in Webster, NY. Busy week!
Mr. B and V8,
Where are you Galaxy? Do hope that Barry is recovering nicely! Will be going over to vote in the primary soon.... Catch you all later!
Just dropping in to see if there was any word on Barry. Prayers continue for Barry and all others in need.
Just another member of the "Bum Ticker Bunch", CHF 5th anniversary coming up soon.
V8VegaWe had a mountain lion run asross a golf coarse and into a school yard and into a residentual neighborhood. They trankulised it and took it back into the mountains. Thank goodness they didn't kill it.
Amen to that. A few years ago, there was a bear roaming around the suburbs of Boston. It wasn't causing any real problems, just a bit of disruption. They captured him (a young male) and took him far away. He must have liked it here, because he came back. This time they killed the bear, which caused quite an uproar.
The lack of predators is the reason that we're infested with deer, but we're not allowed to hunt them or even hire professionals to thin the herd. Yet, when an outsider is just passing through, they won't let it live in peace. We live in a crazy time.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
RideOnRoadKind of tough to ride with a musket in tow?
Well, I do prefer a proper helmet to a tri-cornered hat, but to each his own. Our local rail-trail, the fully paved one, is one of the most heavily used in the country.
The steamer and the tracks are long gone, but the midpoint of the trail is still this old sheltered station in Lexington Center. I still imagine smoke-belching behemoths chugging down the line as I ride through.
Well, we take off in the morning for Billings Mt. will have seven days there with our Son and his favorite squeeze. She has asked my Wife if she would help her pick out a wedding dress as her Mom had died when she was 12. Of course my Wife is thrilled as other than Sisters she has had nothing but Boys around her for a long time, except our other Daughter in law, who's Mother lives on Vancouver Island and very seldom is ever around. So she does have a close relationship there. The Montana Kids (in their 30s) plan on getting married May of 2017. Hope I live that long.
We had a great day here today, I think it got up to +22 C and very little wind. Hope the wind stays down for our trip too.
I'll try to get in off my Son's puter in a couple of days but until then, know that all you who are ailing are in my thoughts and prayers. Lets have lots less on sick leave by the time I get back.
Off to dreamland for a bit, then load the HHR and take off southbound.

Flo, please.
Work was peacful, not one customer? Well to be honest I need the peace and quite to figuer out what Nancy and Jerry thought they sold! Jerry installed the wrong paper in the credit card machine and it would not print, so what did he do? Kept charging the customer over and over! Hum, you change paper then the machine stop's working? What would you folks do?
Before work was far from being peacful! Sue work up sick and with something in her eye to top it off. She need a car so she could go to the eye Doctor. I have not driven her Town Car for 4 months and I was sure the gas was bad, it had 3/4 of a tank when I last drove it. So I made a mad dash to the bank so Sue had money to pay said Doctor, put gas in the car I had been driving, went to Advance Auto Parts and bought Fuel Injector Cleaner, Gas Stablizer and Marvail Myster Oil so the valve's would not gum up and stick. I dove her Town Car and it did find, exhaust stunk but no problems.
yougottawantaThe procedure lasted about three hours.
YGW Hum, from what we spoke about on the phone I think this what they might do to me? Great, just Great! They made it sound like nothing to me, just in and out? First I will have a Echo Gram thing and they will decide from there.
I sure hope we hear from Barry soon, I just learned how to spell is name right!
I am afraid Galaxy is having Female problems.
Ulrich layout photos are looking . Soory to hear about the new health problems of yours and your family.
If I missed anyone that needs best wishes or I am sorry. The list is getting way to long!
Ken, your friend.

I sent him a PM. If he's got notifications turned on, he should get an e-mail for that. I don't have his e-mail address, though.
Good evening ...
If someone has Galaxy's email, please get in touch with him. Everybody is concerned about him.
Chris That was thoughtfull of you to bring the flowers.
Alvie ... That is a thoughtful message from you about Diners who have health problems.
Audrey / Barry ..... Worried about Barry. Prayers continue.
Henry .... You could have told the man both of the countries are adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. ....
.....
I had time to work on some track this afternoon..... Finally! ... Too much stuff going on.
Evening Diners,
Well I had the swamp cooler off for a day and half until I get some oil. The gears started to squeak. Now I noticed that the high vent/cool no longer works. It might be a fuse or the motor. But I don't believe that because the motor is working.
Hi Everyone,
I know some people are having a hard time right now and I don't know most of you so I decided to just post a nice photo of spring in Mississippi and hope that it will bring a smile to a few faces.
This is an Amaryllis I got for my wife 2 years ago and she planted in the garden and suddenly it gave us this display. Whopping flowers 8" across.
Chris.
Loco Guy - is a state of mind - not an affinity to locomotives.
Sit back and enjoy your track...
Good day all,
Zoe, I'd like a Root Beer float made with some Coconut ice cream. And a splash of Tuaca please.
I'm sorry to read of so many people on here are having a rough time lately with health problems. I will keep everyone here in my thoughts and prayers. I too hope the spring air and warmth will help with the healing progress.
I did a double shift, 7am-11pm at work, and wow did I feel beat when I got home. I do not sleep until 1am most nights so today I did not wake up until almost 11am.
Nothing new on the modeling front since my post the other night. I just have like 20+ projects of one kind or another. From adding a few parts to one model to getting a steam engine up and running, I'm not short on model railroading projects. Ah well, it'll all be "complete" when incremental steps forward are made.
Alvie
We have friends who are pre-Revolutionary War re-enactors. Every year they gather at Fort Frederick for Market Fair (this weekend as matter of fact). Ft Fred is in MD and dates to the French and Indian War. You can buy realisitic clothing or clothing that is reproduced down to the threads per inch. The flintlock gunsmithing is amazing and it's not cheap reproductions. http://www.friendsoffortfrederick.info/market_fair.htm
At the gym today a guy 70-75 sat on the bike next to mine. We were watching CNN on the crappy bike TV that replaced the big overhead TV's. They were talking about the Ecuador earthquake. He asked me if Ecuador was near Japan. I swear.

Ulrich, yes, the Redcoats will be gone. Well, not really gone, because they're all just regular people who do these re-enactments for a hobby. There are many more "Minuteman" companies of American Revolutionaries, but a few companies enjoy themselves as British soldiers as well. Tomorrow they'll be back to their regular jobs as stockbrokers and engineers, but Patriots' Day is the high point of their year, and Saturday night they were making the most of it.
MisterBeasley. . .Besides, it will be best to wait until the Redcoats leave.
Kind of tough to ride with a musket in tow?
Like Steve, I am surprised that everyone seems to be having issues. Here's to hoping the warmth of spring will aid in everyone's recovery.
Richard
Afternoon folks!
Chloe, a glass of CherryPharm and a banana is about all I need right now, thank you.
Mr. B, did you check your blood sugar during the episode? Would be good to know if the sugar did go low on you and it needs to be reported to your doctor! A small snack when that happens can help. My Mom used to have to carry glucose tablets with her in case her sugar went too low.
Romance??? Probably not, but she is a good friend and we do have a lot in common. I just thought it very odd that I saw her and got a hug right after I had mentioned her to my minister...... I've been a bachelor too long to change back at this point, but who knows?
Have a meeting at the High School this afternoon to talk about this years MLK Scholaship Applicants. Several of the committee will be there. This Friday we should be doing the interviews and deciding who gets the sholarships.
Hope everyone is on the recovery list... Ulrich, Petra's aunt is on my prayer list, as are both you and Petra.
