Audrey here.
Barry caught a bad case of pneumonia a few days ago. This morning he was averaging 103 and lungs quite full of fluid. So far they got it down to 101 and seemed to have gained on the fluid in his lungs.
Pray for him please.

Hi All.
Thought I would stop in while I have a break at work (working till 23:00).
Audrey - my thoughts and prayers for Barry's speedy recovery.
YGW - MB Klein=Modeltrainstuff, the shop up in Maryland off of I-83. Every now and then I like to go to the shop because they have items there not on the web-site.
My presence is requested on the field; back to the grind.
All the best.

Chessie reinhard Hi All. Garry - hope all is well with you and your family.

Reinhard .... Thanks. Much appreciated.
YGW .... I don't think wood polings are feasible. Water is 50' deep. Barge tows are loaded with several trainloads of coal. They have to stay in the shipping channels. I sort of know a tow boat captain. He attends a church we no longer go to. The crews work four solid weeks, and then they have four solid weeks of rest. The barge tows move very slowly.
Here are two barge tows passing each other. I took the photo from our house.
Evening Diners,
Prayers for Barry.
I been trying to write for the last three days. There's been no calls, reports for a lost dog. We live in a neighborhood where people would drop off their dogs at the nearest park making them homeless. They pop up after rain storms, some national celebration days. An average of five to eight dogs will be homeless in our neighborhood each year. I counted three already, one with a pair.

Flo, Please
Audrey Thank you for letting us know about Barry. Barry just does not seem to get a break lately.
Work, it has been awfull so far this month! Worst part is Jerry is beating me badly in sales.
Teeth, broke another one. While the pain is not bad, when it broke part of it was jammed in to the roof of my mouth. Top of my mouth is brused and it hurts to chew. Pretty much living on soupe right now. Just wished I had the needed funds for a dentist.
Stress Test is this coming Thursday. Seems I cannot have any Caffeine for 24 hours before the test? That is un-american and for a Vet Yet just about impossible! Plus I have to be there before 8 AM? That means I will be up and on the road by 7 AM with No Caffeine! In the last 10 years I have never been to work before 10 AM. When I ran the body shop, getting up at 6 AM was normal and easy.
Gary I am late in saying soory about the family problems, just have not felt like posting for a few days.
Ulrich First I am glad you are feeling better! But did I read you right that you are thinking of selling off another layout and starting over?
YGW Depending on how I feel (and live) after the stress test I may get by K-10 model trains afterward.

Hi Audrey,
Thanks for stopping by and please keep us informed.
Tell Barry that they don't have as good burgers in the hospital as they do here in the Diner, so we expect him back here quickly. But not before he is healthy.
Prayers and blessings for both of you.

Good Morning!
I hope Barry is on the road to recovery! Continuing for him!
I feel kind of sore today - I can hardly turn my head without painful shots going through my body. I will run some trains today to get bmy mind set to other, more enjoyable things.
The bus stop sign I had ordered a few weeks ago in Switzerland arrived today. It´s a nice little sign. Installing it was a matter of seconds - just a dab of glue on it and poking it into the foam!
A few people waiting at the bus stop and the scene is complete!
For centuries, alchemists have tried to turn lead into gold - the Swiss manufacturer of that sign has found a way to turn brass into gold! Way too expensive and if it weren´t for my strong dislike of soldering, I should have done it myself!
Ken - w*rking on my layout is getting more and more difficult. Things are just to small for me to be able to handle them properly. Either I´ll move up a notch or two in scale, or I´ll go for some rather crude model railroading, i.e. toy train like. Time will tell which route I can still go.
Anybody care joining me in some ?
Sir Madog Anybody care joining me in some ?

He had a good night's rest. His two sisters, BIL, nice and nephew are coming today. I have been by his side most of yesterday and overnight so I am going back to the hotel to get some sleep.
Again, thanks for the prayers.

Indeed there is. My best wishes go out to everyone, too.

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a short stack of buttermilk pancakes with real NYS Maple Syrup, a couple of sausage links, and alarge pot of Marrakesh Express Dark Raost Organic Coffee please. What? Oh yes, my R&GV RR Mug would do nicely...
Sun is out shining this morning so far. Probably won't continue all day as they are calling today partly.... They say exactly partly what, but I like the partly sunny part very much. Currently 43°F ourside. Almost at the high of 45°F predicted. today at breakfast I sat and watched the robins and a couple squirells eating the berries of the Flowering Quince and watched the frost melt off the roofs in the neighborhood.
Still waiting for the body shop to make my appointment to put on the new bumper/cowling on the PiP. They will undoubtedly schedule it for the worse possible day....
Audrey, thanks for the update on Barry! Give him my best and let him know he is in my prayers!
Mornin' Steven.
Lion, nice Helix!
Have a great day out there!
Good evening Gents !
I just had a very frustrating conversation with one of my vender PM. We have had a very loud and heated discussion about him following his contract, He actually said to me " I know we signed the contract but we are not going to do X Y Z because we didnt read the contract and didnt cross that out and we do not perform that service for other builders " WHAT ?" Does this guy realize he just admitted that he is defaulting on his contract and I now have the authority to hire someone else to do his work and charge him whatever the cost are ? How does one sign a contract and NOT READ it ! UNBELIEVABLE - NO Wonder I am having heart issues and going in Friday for a heart procedure ! These folks are killing me!
Steve - Thank you for taking part in this forum and actually responding to us. It is very refreshing to have an MRR person that takes part in the forums
Audrey - You and Barry are in our prayers. We know this is not only hard on Bary but is hard on you too.
Ulrich - Here is a for you and hopeful health improvment

All right, now, you all know what day it is, don't you?
That's right! As any camel can tell you, Wednesday is Hump Day! We're over the hump!
Unfortunately, I also have to remind you that Friday is tax day. I feel so good about it, though, because I got all my taxes done today, earlier than usual. Kind of annoying that I actually had to pay more, but that's because it's my first year of retirement, and even though I asked them to, Social Security did not withhold anything. That's OK. I've had the money for a year, and I thought it would be worse.
Afternoon Dinners
Flo, can I smell a cup of coffee, then a
I am amazed by how much I depend on caffeine! I have yet to fully wake up. Been way more tire than normal, just barley got my need running done. Not a single chore was done.
Soon as I am done with the stress test Thursday I am going to chug a 2 liter Moutain Dew!
Milk and Chocolate chip cookies please.
I set out to buy a sheet of styrene today. The old yellow pages were better than the internet, where anything with the word plastic is a hit, with no description. I found a place in Baltimore that wanted to ship me a minimum of 2 - 4x8 sheets from Harrisburg for a mere $90 [plus the cost of the styrene]. we need a puke emoticon
Found a closer place (without tolls) that had them in stock, and got one for < $24 with tax. The list price on slightly more than 2 sq ft of plastruct is $7 so I think it's a deal, even though I will leave some of it to my kids. It was a big warehouse that reeked of plastic and they didn't want to touch the white plastic without gloves.
Swung by the nearby RR tracks, but nothing was moving. It was a neighborhood I had not been in and there were some quaint, post Victorian houses, nicely painted and maintained, some with really big yards. 1/2 mile in any direction and it's post WW2 crappy houses with small yards.

Take comfort in the fact that the pain will eventually subside and you will be left with many fond memories of her.
