GOOD SUNDAY MORNING!

EASTER SUNDAY!

April 5th, 2015!

for those in need:

Healing Energies,

Positive thoughts

the candles are lit

Today's Limerick:

She wonders how he can be jovial
while suff’ring from illness microbial.
“I surely don’t love it,
but just rise above it.
Perhaps the whole thing’s only phobial!”

-Anne Thomas, Sedona, Arizona

A fellow enjoyed delights earthy
In a lavish expression of mirth, he
Would say, “Drinks on me!”
Oh, so generously
But the bars found him not creditworthy.

Easter duck and Easter chick,
Easter eggs with chocolate thick.

Easter hats for one and all,
Easter Bunny makes a call!

Happy Easter always brings
Such a lot of pleasant things.

A bright and sunny day, but bitterly cold! Where is Spring?

There is an awfully nice smell coming from the kitchen. Petra is making Hungarian Gulyas (goulash) for us - one of my favorite dishes - yummy! I think I will go for a nap after lunch - didn´t catch much sleep last night.

Have a great day!

Good Morning

Well, Spring (our little Spring, not the seasonal kind) is snuggled up between my arms so I get to type chicken wing stylee.

Going to be kinda rainy here for the morning and afternoon...maybe some sun later on...

Today is going to be a slow day instead, for me. I have a bit of ye olde scratchy throat so it is going to be dosing with vitamin C and all kindsa hot chili later on...got the 2 quilts laid out as well....

I'll just have an IV bag of rawcaffeine please...thank you...

After a week's delay, I was finally able to move my layout from the garage into my home office. My desk will go right in front of the yard, with a little bit of the window to see the outside world. The loop back that sets out from the wall a little is a generic piece that will move as the layout grows. It was moved in two sections, the big, long piece that fits against the window wall, and the little loop back section. The best news is that everything still works.

well,

went to the grocery store EARLY{6:30 AM} and found the Easter bunny 1/2 off! didn't get a lot, but still I rang up $204!! of course Easter dinner was $35, and meat eas $40, but still I only came home with 7 bags and two 24-packs of water just in case!

The Easter bunny has dropped some DVDs for MOH and me. A few on {WHat else?} Hawaii, and a few good movies, too. DOn't knwo whcih ones really, as I got some for Easter and some for MOH's B-day in 2 weeks, so I just kinda divided them up.

Well, MOH is now home!

Happy Easter everyone!

When I saw the snow outside, it made me burst into song:1

I'm dreaming of a white Easter

Just like the ones I used to know

Where the treetops glisten

And children listen

To hear rabbits in the snow

Good thing you couldnt hear me -- I can't sing!

Good Evening Folks!

It´s been a quiet day here, nice and bright, but the daytime high did not climb much above freezing. Petra and I went for a short walk, but instead of basking in the sunshine, our noses turned red and started to run Smile, Wink & Grin. So that´s what we also did - run home.

I spend some time leafing through old layout projects. I must have prepared more than 50 plans in the past three years! I found one which may be worth reviving. I have still some of the N scale track I bought last year, which I could use for a small narrow gauge layout. I don´t want anything big, just nice and small, which I can built step by step, without leaving an utter mess in the room. I came across the "layout in boxes" idea which I prepared 2 or three years ago and adapted it to HOn30. Did not take much time, as the track plan is rather simple and the scenic features and views were just ba cut & paste job.

Here is the plan:

The scenic part of the layout will consist of three "boxes", each with a different scene. I just calculated the cost for the lumber - ouch! I guess it´ll be a 2016 project...

Something to look forward to!

I will drop by later again - for a night cap!

Well,

It was sn*wing earlier! Always a disappointment on/after Easter Sunday! Cold and Sn*wy! even when Easter is Early!

Easter dinner is a cookin'.

Ham {of course}{schinken for Ulrich, or hind legicus porkus maximus for us in the US}, twice baked three-cheese potatoes {Solanum tuberosum} and asparagus {Asparagus officinalis}. Dessert will be Chocolate covered Eclairs {originally  "pain à la duchesse"}.

Deee-licious!

On a side note: I shed some tears this mornign. I hid the DVDs form MOH that were fro Easter adn MOH's B-day in 2 weeks, and In uncovering it I found an unopened package to me, from guess who? None other than our own  Jeffrey Wimberly! I never opened it at the time as I knew what was in in, now I don't know/remember. I decided to let it be a "treat" somewhere in the future! I wonder if that was his way of saying "I'm looking down on y'all on this Holiest of days"?? If so, I am passing the message along to y'all.

We will eat dinner adn take one to FIL and if time allows to my father as well, I told my father I would bring it by tomorrow if not today. My mental Health appt is close to him {10 miles away} so I may do it tomorrow.

HAVE A great dinner!

Evening and happy Easter everyone

well after taking a few months off of working on the railroad I got the bug again last night to straighten up the workshop and layout room this morning. I also cleaned track and ran some trains before going to my parents for dinner. I am now getting ready to watch the first ballgame of the year. I plan on going to the hobby shop on Tuesday to pick up a few things. I am also thinking about getting the mr archive added to my subscription, does that allow to me view all model railroader magazine?

Happy Easter to everyone.  Hope you have had a peaceful, joyous day.  Taking a break from the UConn - Maryland women's semifinals game.

I served my daughter's family Easter dinner.  My 12 yr old granddaughter absolutely loves pork roast wellington, a recipe I obtained from Elton Brown's old cooking show.

Good Morning Diners,

Flo, I'll have my usual gigante cup of coffee with boo coo cream, please.

I had a terrific weekend.  Went back out to So Cal to visit family.  During this visit, we had the pleasure of going through Cajon Pass (pronounced  Ka hon' long o, accent second syllable for those few who might not know) several times.  For rail fanning, Cajon rarely disappoints.  There's usually a UP or BNSF train going up or down somewhere in the pass.  There are usually something like 40 trains per day that make the trip.  Many trains have helpers and sometimes the helpers are in the middle of the train.  Lots of double stacks, but also tank cars and covered hoppers.  It's always one of my highlights.

Didn't get to do anything else train wise.  Well, got to head off to work.

i hope everyone is OK, safe, and warm.

Less is more,...more or less!

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Vanilla Almond Organic Granola this morning and a large pot of Marrakesh Express Dark Roast coffee to start the day.

Currently 35°F outside the door with a predicted high of 65°F later today.  Got some major warming up to do I think....  Sun is trying to peek through some morning haze out there.

I will have a busy day getting all kinds of stuff done, I hope.  Have to call the dentist about the crown that came off, call the roofer as the main contractor can't schedule when he can start the project until the roof is done,  go check on carpeting for the living room, contact the RIT Train Club guys to see if we can visit on Tuesday, and a lot of other STUFF as well...

Galaxy, no quotes today????  Your just not doing your job out there!  I happen to like all those little definitions and words of wisdom you put here.....  Hope there are no bad floods down your way and your power stays on!

Catch you all later!

Evening, Folks!

A really slow day, but that´s OK, as I haven´t been feeling up to snuff today. Somethins wrong with my stomach, so it´s been salt biscuits and chamomilla tea for me today.

I worked a little on the plan, aiming to get rid of those (Useless) intermediate modules and re-grouping the scenes into a more logical sequence.

I am quite happy with the result.

Wish I could start building it!

No Janie, nothing for me this time, my stomach seems to be acting up again...

Have a good one!
