Flo Please! I will buy a round as well!
Boy it has been awhile! I hope everyone is in good health and doing well! Hum, I see my spell check does not work with the new format? Guess Todd will be having fun with my post! Not a lot of things have changed in my life but a few things have happened.
1 Still fighting with BOS, finally had to get a attonary and she been dealing with them for 5 months now and getting no where with them.
2 Foot is heald! But then again, it has not been looked at for 4 months now! The Good PA has retired and the VA has not found a replacment for her.
3 Had hand surgery, that is not going real well. I do have use of the hand again, but couple of the fingers are still stiff.
4 We lost Shaddy on Jan 28th. But she had a long and happy life and glad we had her as long as we did! She is still missed!
5 Hello Sparkie! A home is not a home with out a Dog! Got Sparkie form St Louis American Eskmo Rersue. He is a senior dog, 10 years old. He is so darn sweet he making my Blood Surgar go up! I wish I knew how to post his photo with the new format. Here is a try.

Hey everyone. Hope youhada great day. No food,I am stuffed. Well tomorrow involves me filling out more applications since the grocery store never called back. It's been two weeks since I interviewed there, and they said that they would call back regardless of what happened. I know Kmart around here is hiring.,

Well, my knee is still quite sore and probably will be into tomorrow. After today's activity I deserve that.Home Health nurse comes tomorrow and hopefully will be able to find the problem with the wound vac.
Evenin' folks!
Janie, just a cup of decaf please... Ate way too much today!
Easter service was powerful at church today. The English Handbell Choir (that I used to play in) did a piece called Gaudet. It was written several years ago in memory of our director many years ago who died of cancer. She was a brilliant Soprano (sang in the Chorus at the Metropolitan for several years), a world class hand bell player and director, and was my late wife's best friend.... I get a bit chocked up when the handbells play that particular piece! The rest of the service was inspiring and the postlude just happened to be Rondeau by Jean-Joseph Moret (the piece that was used as the theme on Masterpiece Theater) with a dear friend who is a scientist at the Cornel Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva playing the Trumpet as he also did on several hymns. His son is one of my Eagle Scouts, BTW.
Then I came home charged the PiP and headed to Canandaigua to have the Easter Buffet at a place called "The Inn On The Lake" (high falutin' kind of uppity place you know) with My son and his family, my sister and an old best friend of hers who just happens to be my SIL as well. We then exchanged a pile of choclate stuff to be consumed later, and I headed back home to recharge the PiP, and head over to my son's house for Easter Dinner. I decided that since I hadn't put dinosaur dung in the tank on the PiP for quite a while and had driven close to 600 miles since then and the fact that by the time I got back to Geneva the light on the dashboard that tells you, "GO BUY DINOSAUR DUNG OR YOUR PIP WILL RUN OUT!" was flashing and the computer said I had 8 miles left in the tank, that I might just as well stop and buy the crap... That was a good decision as when I pluged in the EVSE to charge the PiP, I didn't notice it didn't click all the way in and so after an hour an a half of charging I had gained 0 miles of electric..... So, I drove over to son's house on Gasoline... I did plug in there and drove home in EV mode. Of course that happened after exchanging a lot more chocolate stuff that I should not be eating..... Had a fun day though!
Ken! Good to see you back in the diner! Very sorry to hear about your beautiful old dog, Shaddy... The new one looks to be a sweetheart! He is a lucky dog too! Sounds like you have been having some fun with the Road Runner... Don't be a stranger...
Hope all of you have had a great Easter! Prayers for all in need...

Spell check does work if you use "quick reply", but you don't get to view what you are answering. Also, if I remember correctly it prints out strangely, but they may have fixed that. It's been awhile since I used it. This is done with it. Just so you will know you can check your spelling if you are willing to give up some other things. Have fun, Richard
EDIT: It also prints it as above, ignores paragraphs, just strings it out. Guess they haven't fixed that after all.
Cowman ...Using "Quick Reply" first time. spell check works. Good to see you here in the Diner.
Ken.... What a nice surprise to see after so many months. People have been asking where you are. Sorry top hear about Shaddy, but good you have Sparkie. Sorry to learn about you recent surgery. ... You asked about the Diners, and some have had some difficult problems.. Jeff is now recovering from his second amputation. JohnBoy has undergone some very aggressive chemo therapy and radiation treatments for cancer in his throat. Flip has had surgery for colon cancer and is now recovering. Barry (Blownout Cylindar) and Ulrich have had heart surgery. We're wondering where Jerry in Illinois is and are concerned about him. .... Ken, I can't say much more because it is late, but I hope you can resume regular visits in the Diner.
Terry .... I'm glad to see you returned to the DIner after several weeks. I like your layout photos, and hope you can visit more often.
Ray .... Sounds like a good Easter service.
James .... Nice family photos!
Galaxy, Jimmy, Todd, Ulrich, Jeff, Zstripe, JP, and V8 Dennis: Good to see you too. Too late at night to say much to you.
We returned a short while ago from Nashville, and I have no model railroading to report. .
Edit .... I just editied my post to get spacing in it. The quick reply did not have adequate spacing.

EVERYWHERE LOST; WE HUSTLE OUR CABOOSE FOR YOU
Good Morning!
It´s a holiday here in Germany, so all the shops are closed. As usual for a holiday, our weather is back to normal - ra*n. I already did some w*rk on the layout, laid a couple of pieces of track. I have come as far as I can go for the moment, withount buying some little items like brass screws, to which I will solder the rail at the benchwork joints. I will make it a slow day today, as my shoulder still feels sore.
Ken - good to see you back here. We missed you, pal - sure hope you find the time to join us more often now. I am sorry to hear about Shaddy´s passing - it always hurts a lot to lose a four-legged companion. That´s why we don´t have a dog - Petra and I don´t want to go through that again.
Nothing planned for the day - I may do some more research for my layout.
Blessings to all!
I see Easter Day has brought out some old timers!
Perhaps the day had little to do with it!
Maybe it is simply SPRING!
Still nice to see 'em!

Quotable Quotes:
In nothing does man, with his grand notions of heaven and charity, show forth his innate, low-bred, wild animalism more clearly than in his treatment of his brother beasts. From the shepherd with his lambs to the red-handed hunter, it is the same; no recognition of rights -- only murder in one form or another. -John Muir, naturalist, explorer, and writer (1838-1914)
Moning Folks!
Flo, diet dew to go.
I have to work at the Saint Charles store today, I think you folks know I quite NTB. Company I work for now main store is in ST Charles. So long drive today!
Started cleaning up the back patio yesterday, what a mess. Sue was pretty sick last year so it never got cleaned. So now I have 2 years of twigs and leaves to clean.
So Jeffery, did they finally remove the foot? Has it helped or hurt you getting around?
Ulrich how is the heart doing now?
Garry, I was my chosie to have the hand worked on. Little finguer was stuck at a 90 degrees. I had put up with it for years, but twices it got caught in the steering wheel while I was turning. So it was time to bite the bullet and have it done.
Got to run, Ken
Good Afternoon!
I could not resist and laid some more track. I had to stop, though, as my shoulder started to yell at me. Going to see the doc about it tomorrow.
A test run with the caboose went nicely, there was only one point where it derailed occasionally - at one of the joints. A couple of turns with a screw driver took care of that. Wiring will be next - not really my favorite!
Ken - while my heart surgery didn´t do any miracle, I am feeling much better since. I still have to watch out not to overdo things, though.
Well, it´s kind of empty in here today. I´ll stay here at the RC for a moment, sip on my coffee and see, who´ll be dropping by ...

Good morning, and Happy Patriots' Day!
By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled,
Where once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard 'round the world.
Yes, the start of the American Revolution. It's a state holiday in Massachusetts, but I don't get it off. It's also the day of the Boston Marathon. Non-runners can get up very early and go watch historical re-enactments with muskets, fifes and drums. The rest of us can rejoice because the traffic is lighter going to work.
Eat hearty, me lads. Sorry all we've got is tea and stale biscuits here in Lexington...

Italian Roast coffee in a SUNNY SOUTHERN mug, please.
***Jeffrey, good luck getting the vac issues resolved. In the interim, it's a good thing you have experience dealing with such wounds.
***J.P., if you like, do a search for "Ventrac Slope Mower" and you can find their site. Or search for the same on youtube. Not as fancy as those beasts with the pivoting seats, but good enough for most hills.
Getting a bit overwhelmed with unfinished farm projects again. Now have two potential workers lined up.
Healing thoughts to those in need.
Cheers! Rob
Good morning. It's 66° with 74% humidity and fog. The high will be 82° and cloudy.I'm expecting a visit from the Home Health nurse sometime today. Other than that there's nothing going on.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Vanilla Almond Granola and a cup of Seneca Lake Dark Roast Coffee in my R&GV RR mug please.
Going to be a pleasant day here in the Finger Lakes Region. High will be in the upper 70's. Yes! Spring has finally arrived here. I shall be spending some time doing some outdoor clean up. Yesterday when I arrived at my son's house he was siphoning some very old (over a decade I think) gas mix out of one of his old outboard motor tanks into a pail.... The inside of the tank was completely rusted and the gas was a very icky brown color and it stunk like very, very old petroleum gunk and not at all like gas is supposed to smell. He has to figure out what to do with it now... We discussed probably putting it in a old metal coffee can or #12 can way out in his yard and just burning it... I got to thinking all night long that is probably now a major no-no around these parts, and how the last time I disposed of old gas that way I came close to burning down my house! So I called him first thing this morning and we talked for a bit. He will check with the mechanic who services their cars and the local fire dept to find out best practice while I look around to collect all the old stale Dinosaur dung laying around here... They may accept old gas at the Hazardous Waste day at my landfill so I may end up taking care of it for him as I have other materials that will go there.
The only gas operated yard machine I still own is my old rototiller. I will need to get that out and do a strip along my new fence, but that would take all of a cup or so of gas. I don't think I have any still good gas here, so we will figure out whether I borrow some from him or if I go and by half a gallon at the station.... After I do the fence line, I am giving my son the rottotiller as he would have a use for it anyway...
Jeffrey, hope you get the vacuum working today. Don't want any more problems with your feet!
Good to see some of the missing back here in the diner lately. Enjoying the posts!
Have a great day!
Good Morning,
A dull day here with about 50F for a high. The snow is going down so there are only the lumps left by the plows.
Ken, great to see you in the Diner! Sorry to hear about Shaddy. That was great of you to take a rescue.
Well not much on the plan for today. It is funny having my wife home after all winter with just Robbie and myself during the week. I'm sure I'll learn about something I wasn't doing correctly.

Afternoon everyone. Just finished painting some walls, and other stuff. Awhile back, someone asked what guitars I have. Well, here they are.
Fender strat-squire ,Fender Acoustic, Ovation Celebrity series 12 string, and a 1967 Fender Mustang (original)
Evening gang!
Flo - I'll have a Chocolate milkshake, please. Hold the whipped topping. Thanks!
Rob - I checked out that machine you mentioned. Interesting one in deed. I may have to take a drive a hour south of me to 2 of the local dealers and see what this thing can do. If I had the money though, I'd go buy a Ferris mower, walk-behind type for some good exercise.
Well, if anyone is looking for me, I'll be in the corner booth daydreaming....

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Glad to see you're back cudaken. Don't worry about the spell check. You wouldn't be the same wit it :)
Evening guys,
Ken: Glad to se you back, sorry on shaddy. I sent you some PMs a few months ago asking how you were doing.
Not much going on here, just finished a game of strat o matic baseball. It was a beautiful day here today. Its going to cool down tonight and tomorrow though.
evening
Well, We used the A/cs today. The one is finally in the BR window...it was needed as my O2 machine really puts out some heat! Usually we have it in the window by or on April 1st. This late is rare.
The Other A/c is a good runner and worked fine, no surprises.. I will have to spray the coils with disinfectant to kill off musty odors, though. CAn't spray and then operate, though, as it freezes the coils.
I usually don't turn it on til it gets to be 75F in the house, or about noon-2pm. Today it only got to 74, and the windows were open, but to give it a test run I turned it on at 3:30 and closed the windows. We don't exactly need it, but we do. WHy? POLLEN! everything is starting to bud and bloom now and we both have such allergies that we almost have to keep the windows closed and when this tin can we live in heats up, the A/c is the way to cool down.
Now the a/c bills start to mount. Hey funny thing that...we have combined Nat gas and Electric from the same company. SO all utilities, heat,a/c,hot water, electric all come from one company. We opted for balanced billing so the budget for it is easy, the same amount every month for a year. then there is a "cleanup" bill- either we owe them if the budget was too short, or they owe us if they "overbilled" us. well for the budget 2 years ago, they owed US 5 months "free" {zero balance due} and another month at only $15 due..nearly 6 months "free" because the budget payment was so high! With THEM owing US so much, they still Jacked up the rate for budget by a whopping 18% for last years monthly payment. WHy? not because we owed, but because there was rate hike. SO guess what? this last years budget left them giving us another 5 months "free" {zero balnce due} and a 6th month at a mere $13. SO guess what I finally read on the "cleanup" bill??? they are REDUCING the budget payment by nearly 1/3! I guess they finally got the hint they were OVERCHARGING US! BY A LOT! ANd this winter was HArsher than the previous one! I was gong to go in person and "demand" {strongly insist} they reduce it anyway. Saves me the trouble. SInce we still have a zero due and the short bill left yet, i will wait with baited breath to see that they DO indeed, give us the reduced budget payment rate. We DO get HEAP assistance, but that amount would only give us 2 months "free" plus maybe a little bill, So they are still overcharging us by 3 months. I love it when they owe us and have to give us "free" months! savings account here we come!
CUDA KEN- good to see you back in the diner...we know we lost you to the car, but sure nice to know you are still alive!
I see a few other "old folks" popped in too! Nice to see a more fuller diner with lots of partiipation. Really, I do get tired of talking to myslef in here.
ROB: good to see you sir! and good you are getting help with the farm, it always sounded like it was overwhelming you!
Well, I have been reacting to a psychotropic med that has the side effect of putting one to sleep. I really don't sleep with out it. BUt since it is reacting, I have to stop it. The last time I was off it, it took me 8 1/2 months before I could lay down, close my eyes and just sleep. Even with it, I have been having some sleepless nights or off time sleeping. This will be a real trick now to get some adequate sleep!
well, i guess that is all tonight, see you in the A of M maybe!
MINT tea in a SANTA FE mug, please.
***J.P., those Ventracs (and Steiners) cost as much as some tractors. Unless you are planning on mowing hills that are too steep for a zero-turn machine, I wouldn't think they would be worth the price. Would enjoy hearing your take on them if you ever test drive one.
***Jimmy, that's a fine collection you have there.
***Jeffrey, glad you got that vac back on duty.
Have a good night all.
Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Good Evening
