Geeez! All I get is a link to the photo. I give up. We'll see what we find out from forum gods. I'm off to the lumber yard, back to work on the bathroom remodel.

Also, note that only your photo appears, no chance of invading the privacy of your Photobucket Library.

Rich and Mike,
What browser is each of you using?
Your differing experience, each with Photobucket, suggests again to me that it may be a browser problem.

I'm using Chrome, as I have for years. From what I've tested, I think I'll type up the descriptions, then insert the pictures. That seems to work. There are so many variables to deal with; browser, different methods of inserting pictures, etc. Just another case of "upgrading" and making things NOT so user friendly. Just another quirk I'll have to learn to work around.

I usually use FireFox, but I just logged out of FireFox, cleared the browser, and now I'm in IE 8, so lets try this again.
Picture: I clicked on Image, yellow box said copied, than pasted here:
Dropped down 2 spaces, and posted. Mike. EDIT: No change, all text after the picture turn into a link. This is IE8, the same thing happens in FireFox.

OK, now I'm going to click on Direct in Photobucket, and try again.
Picture: This time I clicked on Direct, instead if Img. Now I'll click on Edit/insert link,

Now I will post.
Mike
EDIT: No difference. Just a link and no picture.
OK, will be interesting to see what Rich us using, but it's not just a brwoser thing. Maybe it is Photobucket. I'm going to try experimenting with my image postings as see what happens.
This one is via Direct link, enabled by entering it as a weblink and then as an Image link:
http://imageshack.com/a/img46/3826/1gk4.jpg
Now as the ALT Forum link provided by PB:
Same link, but enabled as an Image here via the Forum: " alt="" />

And as an Image link via the Forum:
Looks like maybe the Direct link from PB, entered here as an Image link, may work with the mysterious post-pic pseudo-links?
If this is just plain text, then the Direct PB Link/Insert Image here at the Forum is what works.
EDIT: OK, I've now found what I need to do. Hope this helps others, at least if you're using Firefox with Photobucket.
Google Chrome
I'm using Firefox, and simply clicking on the img data line, then pasting it here, the same procedure I've always used.
I got a reply from Kalmbach that someone will be looking into this.

I'm gonna try it Rich's way...I hope...
Charlie Brown's archnemesis!
Hey, it worked... Ok.. here are the steps that worked.
OK, great, your not going to believe this......someone give me a huge "Gibs"......all of you guys! I was using the "Insert/edit link" not "Image" So now I can't wait to try this:
OK, lets see.
EDIT: OK people, get in line....I need a good swift "Gibs" from all of you. I was using the wrong link. Oh, ahhh, just in case you never has watched NCIS, a "Gibs" is a quick, upward slap on the back of the head!
Well, I'm glad to see that a solution has been found, but it still seems convoluted compared to the simple click and paste operation which works for me.
Wayne,
Modern life, I guess. I agree, but I've been putting up with it since the forum update, tried multiple times and things, just finally tried the right combination of things. Frankly, lots of software is poorly documented, as my wife, the programmer, attest over beers with a colleague of hers who we were out with. Sometimes there are "clues" but mostly pretty hit or miss. Glad I finally hit. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket?
Mike,
Don't be down on yourself. I'm certainly not going to go all Lord of the Flies on you. I did the best I could and didn't figure it out until today myself. Of course, there's likely to be an update next week that leaves us lost again...
Medina1128 I'm gonna try it Rich's way...

It's always nice to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.
Just call me, Mr. Wonderful.
So, does anyone still have the blue underlined text problem?

Ok, Rich, you da man! Nope, posting pics the way you suggested works like a charm. It's too bad they didn't program the new forum software to make things more user friendly like it had been in the past.
Wayne, I agree with your wife. As a former programmer/analyst, I've come to severely dislike new programmers. New operating systems, programs, etc. that expects the end users to do the debugging (are you listening Microsoft??)!!
I'll give up. Won't work for me.
Don't yopu just love technology?

Garry,
What browser are you using?
In Firefox I just followed Marlon's instructions.
I hope this works. Thanks to all who have been investigating this.

Nice RDC I've got one that needs desert dust on it, but your B&M one should be a pretty good inspiration.
richhotrain Garry, What browser are you using? Rich I'm using the old Dell with Firefox. .... I might try the Apple with its Safari. Actaully, I got it to work. Then I edited to add a comment at the bottom. That change my photo to a link to the photo in Photobucket. ... I got frustrated and quit.

Actaully, I got it to work. Then I edited to add a comment at the bottom. That change my photo to a link to the photo in Photobucket. ... I got frustrated and quit.
Let me see if I can make this easier and clearer.
The link itself is critical to success. The link that you copy and paste from Photobucket should begin with
http://i***.photobucket.com/..................................jpg
If you examine that link, it begins with http://i
The three asterisks are the unique number of your photo followed by photobucket.com
The dots are the rest of the link, ending with jpg.
If you have copied that type of link, you are halfway there.
***********************************************************************************
To find and copy that link in Photobucket, look for the box on the right side of the Photobucket page that is titled:
Link to share this photo
You need to see the link in the box titled Direct (not IMG).
If you do not see the Direct box, look for it elsewhere on the page.
If the Direct box is not there, there go back to the Link to Share this Photo box and click on *Update Link Options.
On the Update Link Options page, make sure that there is a check mark in the box marked
Links - Direct Link
Also, it is helpful but not critical that there is a check mark in the box marked
Easy Linking Mode - Turn on Easy Linking Mode
********************************************************************************
OK, not back to the forum Reply (or Post) box
Now that your link is Copied, you need to Paste it.
Click on the Insert/edit image (not Insert/edit link) icon
Paste the link into the Source (not image description) box
Click OK
This results in the actual photo image appearing in the Reply (or Post) box.
If the photo image does not appear, but the link itself does, it is not going to work. You need to see that photo image
**********************************************************************************
Here is one last piece of advice.
Before you paste the link into Insert/edit image, hit the Enter key a few times to create some extra lines after the photo image to type text. With those extra lines created, hit the Backspace key once or twice to move the cursor back up for the photo image insertion. By creating those extra lines, it is a lot easier to type text.
Remember, the critical consideration here is to copy a link in Photobucket in Direct mode that begins with http://i
Good luck. This has to work for everybody.
try again I'll just quit posting pictures
wrumbel try again I'll just quit posting pictures
So you tried it and it didn't work?
What did happen?
okay new day I think I got it. Thanks Rich
What I will be curious to learn is whether someone cannot post photos without the blue underlined text occurring.
Hopefully, that won't be the case.
I too was having the problem, so I'm trying your instructions.
Let's see. Don't see any blue lines. Good it worked!
That's great! Thanx Rich! Seems that each forum I'm a member of has different instructions to do the same thing, put a picture into the body of the post. Just hope I can remember this for the next time.

Just a note to let everyone know that MR did reply to my e-mail concerning this problem, and included the procedure for posting photos in a manner in which the descriptive text does not become a link, which is pretty-much the method outlined by Rich.
For me, it's still easier to copy the img line of data (one click), then paste it here (another click). No blue text and no links.
