A couple more things: When I hit the return key the quick reply box shows the proper format but it's all run together when the post is displayed. The edit function works the same as the reply button i.e. the screen says post your reply below but no text box appears. I'm using the latest version of Firefox on Win8.1 Tom

I can't get the reply button to work. Quick reply works. I still can't find the "Mark all Read" button Tom

Kyle
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE IS NO SPELL CHECK???  Are you on the same forum as me???

Gidday Kyle, I think I must be, otherwise how did you quote me??? Smile, Wink & Grin I'm with Galaxy on this one, if there is a spell check function, then it ain't working for me. Not that it matters too much, I will just not have to be so lazy.Zzz

Bheers, teh Cear.

Maybe it is because I am using an I-Phone (with the IOS-6, I hate the IOS-7 when I see it on other peoples phones), but it just comes up as I am typing.

Also, the pictures you guys are posting are going off the side of the screen so I can't the right side.  A few of the longer post are also being spilt in half so I can't read them.

First clue for me was my MRR favorites link was dead. Was a new link really necessary to change the format? This is definitely going to take some getting used to....which exacerbates the zero MR heads up of the forum change before the fact....

Another complaint: Messages tab doesn't highlight to let you know you have messages.

I also used to get a email that alerted me to the fact that I had a private message and I could actually read it on the email or read it on here. That feature seems gone too?

I got neither a notice here that I had a message, nor an email alert. How is one to know they have a PM messagge?

Geeked

I have the same, experience, no e-mail alert and don't know I have a New message, unless,I click on it. Sent Motley, a message,he replied at 1:51 and I  did not know, until now when  I clicked on new messages.

Cheers,

Frank

Thought I was on the wrong site when I first logged on this morning.

Read some, then decided I should have my morning coffee before tackling anthing that would take brain power or logic to complete.

Came back, looked around some,

Decided that this would be a two coffee morning

Okay. This is a little scary. Reminds me way too much off my employer. Make a major change...don't tell anyone...then when something goes wrong or no one knows...wham! Send them to the umemployment office.

Glad  I can't become unemployed being away from this forum for 2 days...or was Model Railroader mag just bought out by my employer? Hmmm!?

I recall Neil, stated, that this was an, off the shelf software, so that being said, like RTR,off the shelf, does not play well, on everyone's system. Just a Thought! Smile

You guys have probablly found more issues in a day than the tech team did in a week Bow

That's usually the way it is.  The system I work most closely with for a living can be tested for months on end, and let them release it to the sites who use it and we get trouble reports starting almost immediately.  Sometimes, those sites fall off and back to the old release.  Running any software in "live mode" always exposes bugs.

Or, as somebody once said, "just when you think you have idiot-proofed your software, somebody designs a better idiot."

Last week I installed all the patches from Microsoft on my laptop, including IE 11.  It appeared half the desktop gadgets were gone, with one being there but in a blurry pink color.  Turns out IE11 creates a problem when the display magnification in Windows (at least Windows 7, maybe others) is set to something other than 100%.  I have seen nothing to rival that with the new forum.

I'm using Firefox 25.0.1 on the Windows 7 with all patches current and have had no technical problems I can see.  The ability to jump to the last post in a thread would be appreciated.  Somebody said the new look is clean, and I agree with that.  Somebody also mentioned they thought the search function works better.  That would be a big help.

I like the simplicity of it but want the 'last post' button back.  Would you guys please look in your desk drawers and find it!  Wink

This format carries over into archived copy - and therein I found a major rub.

A while back I spent the best part of an hour putting together a 'sort of' sketch of my benchwork design, using punctuation marks.  The new format narrowed the field - and ground that diagram into meaningless hamburger.  Bummer,,,

I'm using Firefox. I've come across some problems concerning this new setup.

New things for the complaint list:

Email notification isn't working, at least not for PM's so far as I know. Probably not for other stuff either. When I click 'Email notifications' in my profile I get an error.

I can't log out. Even if I wanted to I can't do it. I tried and all I got was a server error. Looks like I'm stuck here. Good thing I use 'tab' browsing.

No doubt. The tech team don't have to depend on this being their way of keeping up with what's going on on this site.

And when I click on the Emoticons, it places them at the beginning of my reply, not where I actually want them placed.
