Hopefully, by now the police have received Jeff's phone call.
I can't imagine anybody stealing model trains. If for themsleves, they can not really enjoy stolen stuff. If to sell to others, the trains are unique enough so they would not get far without being noticed.
Like Todd said, it's insane.
Other than that, I hope everyone is having a good day.

Jeffrey - That's a bad thing to have happen to your train items. I'd start locking the doors and set up a camera or two as suggested in hopes that he comes back while the cameras are going and then you have video proof of him vandalizing the layout again.
One of the things on my list once the ex is out and I have the room, inventory and photo my train items, then make sure my homeowners insurance is enough to cover the value of them. If not, then I'll up the coverage.
Not much in store for me today. Lazy day here.
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Jeffrey: all I should say is "call the police!"
May not get much in the way of return on calling them, but you HAVE to had known him by some screen name or something they can ID him by/with!!!
You CAN ID him in person behind the two way mirror right???
CALL THE POLICE!!!

WOW Jeff! That's just plain insane! I'd think he has to be around there somewhere to know what you have in your house. And I really don't understand the sabotage. Why and for what purpose? Makes NO sense what so ever. You may just have to lock your doors and set up cameras.
Bizarre.

Good Morning!!!
Just coffee please, thanks.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 1pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1pm and 4pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 68. Isn’t that a drawn out way of saying showers and thunderstorms all day? I thought so. Boy, pass one opportunity to mow and you lose it for who knows how long. Best look for the baler.
Barry- You got em. Prayers that is. Hope he heals quick.
Jeff- I don’t mind him talking about the gaming at all. Problem is he talks about it a lot, like 30 to 40 minutes at a time (it’s a small kitchen so you can chat while w**king easily) several times a night as if I know what he’s talking about and I play them as well, even though he knows I don’t. So it would be kinda like me listening to some foreign language and acting interested.
Well, Like I said earlier, it’s raining so outside w**k is pretty much thrown to the wind. I will sneak out from time to time and dig up some of those berry starts just because I have to get them out before they take over again. I can dig in the mud and the moisture is there so they won’t have to rush right out and put them in the ground. But they are Black Raspberries so I thnk you could probably just pitch them on the ground where you want them and they’d take root.
Brenda has paint chips all over the basement floor as we speak deciding what colors she wants to paint the living room and hallway. Which reminds me, she hasn’t finished the bedroom she started two weeks ago yet. She still has two walls and the closet to go. She just might be thinking I’m gonna finish it. Probably one of those things I am supposed to just know.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!
Had a visitor this morning who's going to cost me over a hundred bucks! More if I replace stuff that's missing. Supposedly a model railroader. He just showed up out of the blue. His knowledge indicates not much experience, newbie maybe. Calls himself Wayne. I showed him how the DCC system works and he was having a good time running the F unit trio. I went to the bedroom to put away some locos I had been working on and was out of the layout room for maybe five minutes. During this time he'd stopped the train and said he was looking at something I had made. I asked what it was, he told me it was one of the geeps and I told him how I built it. By this time I was putting away the last loco. Then he said he had to go and whoof, he was out the door, into his little car and gone. Pretty sure it was a rental, didn't see what model as I only got a glimpse of it. I came back up front and noticed right away things were not as they should be. One of my four GP9's is gone, the only one lettered for the MGRy. All the others are lettered for the L&A. A small handful of LED's with attached resistors, perhaps a dozen, all I had, are gone. Now the GP9, I don't really mind. I have enough parts to make another one. It mostly Walthers parts. The LED's can be replaced without too much of a problem. I just have to wait for them to become available on Ebay again. No, the thing that really burns my butt is that he turned two of the F units upside down and pumped the trucks full of Pro grade super glue! I had just gotten this trio running again yesterday. The trucks of the lead unit are Proto 2000 with Athearn gears and NWSL ns wheels. I may be able to salvage the wheels. The second unit is a heavy rebuilt metal Varney. That has Kato-built Stewart F3 trucks and a home-made drive. I've looked on Ebay. I found some Athearn F7 trucks that can be adapted to fit the lead unit. They won't fit the second unit without major surgery and I can't find any Kato/Stewart trucks for it. If I seem calm about this believe me, I'm not. I'm so mad I could chew steel and spit screws! Now as I said, the second unit uses Stewart trucks and they have to be adapted to fit.Now as to this goons appearance. Six feet, maybe six feet two inches, perhaps two hundred fifty pounds, blond hair, age about thirty, heavy ridge on the bridge of his nose indicating it may have been broken. Brown eyes. Wrangler jeans, cheap running shoes, silver series I think, gray T-shirt. If anyone gets offered a Walthers type GP9 with Proto 1000 AAR trucks and a PPW can motor please let me know.

Good morning.
Not a whole lot going on today. Will work on 109 a little more, and may just get the second coat of paint on the P-38. It has been sitting around for a while and need to get it done soon. Plan on starting the P-51D Mustang afterwards.

Currently it is 45 with an expected high of 75 under partly cloudy skies.
Have an opening shift today, so not much doing before I head in to w**k.
Did get some more track put down yesterday before going to my eye dr, appointment. I have cataracts, and she reccomended I get that taken care of, even though they are not too bad. Her thought is that if I do not my prescriptions will keep changing every 6 months or so, as that is what I am noticing. I keep being able to see better far away without my glasses. So I am waiting to hear back from them to set up an apointment.
Had dinner with my daughters and son-in-law last night, their treat. Made the day easier being with them.
Prayers to all in need.

I only got a few hours of sleep so I'll probably catching up on that today.

The Life Of Reilly:
This is not just an old television show from the 1950's. Back in the 1880's an Irish comic/singer named Patrick Rooney created a song about Mr. Reilly, who imagined what his life would be like if he hit it rich in California. The song describes his wonderful life of leisure. Soon, many who heard it identified with how nice it would be and would repeat the song, making the phrase represent having a real easy life
Rack One's brain:
Tanners stretched leather out on racks, which later caught on in as an idea as a form of torture to stretch a person out and get information from him. Eventually, this method to get information became illegal; but, the phrase became known in society as an expression to trying to find some answer or solution that was mentally torturous on one's brain or mind
Left-Handed, Left Handed Comliment:
If a nobleman married beneath himself, custom said that the man would give the bride his left hand, rather than his right. This type of "left-handed wedding" was not really worth much because the man's wife or children could never gain his property. So, the marriage wasn't really valid, but just for social appearances. By the 16th century, these were no longer performed. But, society still referred to anything that on the surface appeared to be something that it wasn't as "left-handed." Today, sometimes a compliment is really meant as an insult (or a snide remark) and is referred to as a left-handed compliment because it's not really sincere
So: don't rack your brain coming up with a left-handed compliment on the Life of Reilly!!!

Cloudy tonight, temp 75, 30% chance of rain. Nothing special going on tonight. My niece is finding that one of the headaches of being a homeowner is that of expenses. In her case when it rains it pours! It cost around ten grand to get the west end of the house rewired to modern standards. The original wiring was pre-1970 and not a wire nut or three prong outlet in sight. She's just learning what circuit breaker controls what part of the house. Today she found out her a/c compressor is fried and of course it has to be replaced. Better it happens now than in the middle of the summer.Well in my little world the F unit Frankenstein trio is running again. The lead unit looks really good with it's shiny new shell. It got test run today to make sure nothing is binding or rubbing. It passed with flying colors. The third unit however was being dragged. A quick inspection revealed a cracked solder joint on the positive motor connection. A quick application of a hot soldering gun took care of that problem. I snapped a side-on photo of that locos drive. It's difficult trying to ID it in person much less in a photo. There's quite a few pieces there that weren't really meant to work together.Well, time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
CURT-Strasburg is fantastic....we have been twice and may go a 3rd when we pass near it on the way to Baltimore in August!
Well erm,
What am I doing up now? Well, I had a migraine brought on by the brutal cold nasty Low pressure that descended upon us. High of only like 46 and we *HAD SN*W* here today..that makes the record books! The "latest day in the calendar year that we have had snow falling"!!! So with my migraine medication I slept a lot today{finally see below for why}.
I am on a MANIC tear lately.. Being Bipolar isn't fun. I didn't recognize it until I went to do the budget for June and realized my buying spree has cost us...severely....{$2,300 in 2 months} that and the fact that I haven't been sleeping, and that I have been listening to the same musics {CD's and on the computer- i have it going now!} OVER and OVER again...should have all alerted MOH to the fact That I am manic right now. Went to see the psychiatrist Thursday night. He increased my dosage of Meds. But I don't know if that will work. Just increasing a little may not help. I was ordering stuff Thursday online before I went to see him. {not trains stuff...MOH has forbade me to buy train stuff right now, but didn't say I couldn't order other stuff!}. so pray it helps...the psych wants a call next Thursday to see how i am doing. I have resisted the urge to buy today! {but I wans't feeling well!}}. May have to cancel the Baltimore trip.
Well now to try some sleep...
have a good sleep and dream filled night..
Evenin' folks!
Janie, just a cup of decaf please....
Cold around these parts today. No frost predicted like where Barry is though. The low tonight is supposed to be around 42°F. Five days from now they predict high 80s....... Anyway, cold, dark, gloomy, and rainy here in the Finger Lakes today.
Curt, nice video! I had no trouble with it here on my iMac. Of course i have a fast connection. Probably where you are right now the connection was not as fast as you normally have and that is why it wasn't smooth for you.
Figured you folks might enjoy this one from the R&GV RR Museum. We are currently restoring this old girl now that she is in the restoration building. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJTYYAwA1Qg&list=UUkoOG5exBPqBlrkK3GdlXhA
I did manage to get quite a bit done today, including some layout stuff... YEAH! I went over to the very large Medical Group right after lunch to get my Shingles Vaccination. Ended up sitting in the waiting area with a lady from my church whose son was a member of my Boy Scout Troop way back when. She was also waiting to get a shot and had to sit and wait for 20 minutes after she got it. She heard the receptionist call my name (I didn't as she was behind where I was sitting) and went over to the window to be informed there was a problem with my getting the vaccine. They needed to check with my doctor as one of the ingredients in the vaccine could be something I might be allergic too according to the the computer search of my file. I was told to wait until they knew whether or not I could be given the shot... A few minutes later the nurse came out and said the doctor had OKed the injection but I too would have to wait for 20 minutes after she gave it to me to be sure that they would know if I died or couldn't breath, or something like that and then I would be nearer the morgue. Anyway, with a bit of fear and trembling I got the vaccine and sat for 20 minutes waiting to go into shock and die... Didn't happen so here I am typing a message to all of you.
When I got home I put a load of wash in then headed down the road to the Landscaping place to spend some money (as long as I was among the living). Done spent a little over $350 on a rock, some topsoil, and the fee for getting it all brought over to my house. The rock weighs in at 1300lbs. and I don't think I would have wanted to put it in my old pickup truck and have to unload it by myself, and the PiP ain't gonna be enough to get it to my house either, but I did manage to convince them that I didn't need to have it brought over on the flatbed truck with the fork lift and all to set it into place. They will be bringing it and the topsoil on the same dump truck on Monday, thereby saving me $135... Yep I know that is memorial day, but they will be delivering stuff anyway as this is the big garden weekend around these parts, and besides the Pee-raid is tomorrow in Waterloo, NY (the birthplace of memorial day) anyway. At least the Pee-raid my granddaughters will be marching in is. Monday will be a pickynicky at my son's house when he gets done fishing in the Lake Trout Derby on Seneca Lake. Geneva, NY is the Lake Trout Capital of the World, in case you didn't know. Sunday I will at the Museum doing Museum Guide stuff... But you already knew that didn't you!
Barry, I will add your friend to my evening prayers tonight!
This evening I finished the roof on the Power Plant I have been trying to get finished for the last 6 months... Just need to clean it up a bit and it will get installed on the layout! Photos by the end of the weekend I hope!
Have a great night everyone, and prayers for all of you (whether you need them or not!)...

Evening All,
I am sitting in a hotel room in Summerville SC (outside Charleston). We are supposed to meet some friends tomorrow for either lunch or supper. Sunday we head home and ill get there late afternoon/early evening (about a 8 hour drive). Monday the family is coming over for a BBQ. I go back to w**k Wednesday. This has been the best vacation I have had since I was a kid. I owe MOH BIG TIME.
Gary- Happy Birthday. You are also 1/3 my age.

JP ... Thanks for commenting. Gus went home Monday, but Tues at 4:00 he had an ambulance trip to ER. Doctors worked on him for several hours. Things stablized, and he went home again. He is recovering at home. His heart rythm has not yet returned to normal, and he has some large areas of skin which are still heeling. The spider bite was 2 weeks ago.
Lee ... Where are you?
Din't get much done of hte layout today due to other stuff.

BUMP....
Evening all. The CS was almost off of page one so I figured I'd make a quick post and "bump" it back to the top.
As for I, with any luck, the ex will be completely moved out by Sunday night. That means I can get the spare bedroom cleaned and prepped for my layout. Woo Hoo!!! Today I spent $180 at the LHS for several Walther's building I had on order.
Anyways, I'm off for some food.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. Please remember those who sacrificed their lives.
PackerI got the idea of using thinned white paint from Robby P., and using a "non-hobby" paint from Jeff.
Whew. It's hot as crap outside... I was out airbrushing some cars with my "el-cheapo" fade mix. It's part rustoleum flat white, and mostly medium reducer. Works great, is durable, but dries quickly (almost as fast as acrylics). I got the idea of using thinned white paint from Robby P., and using a "non-hobby" paint from Jeff. If how well it works is any indication, I have a guy who goes to RPM meets paying me to weather his stuff.
Gary, happy birthday
Well, Off to the bank to deposit my check. Then I'll be able to get those Walther's cars shipped to me finally...
After that I'm airsofting with my brother and out friends... I'll probably work on shaping the remaing thrall gon loads tomorrow...
