The improvement I made was to change the main line track, that ran up and down the ramp to the coaling tower, and added an addition to the ramp. I then added another 9" to the benchwork to make space for the new main to run around the coaling tower  This is before

This is after

 .another view

lets see some more improvements.

How about another photo of a switcher working a customer?

Here's a detailed and weathered Athearn BNSF SD38-2. I added horn, a/c unit, mu cables, snow plow, tank  filler caps.

Show me something that a railroad uses at a yard.

Here's a Kato SD38-2 where I transplanted the headlight from the cab to the nose, stripped it of its original CNW colors, and painted/decaled it myself for CSX.  Also added the K5LA horn and the hood-mounted bell.

Show me something else customized - loco, rolling stock, structure, whatever...

De Luxe,

There is a  weekly thread WPF or Weekly Photo Fun (Dates of the weekend Fri - Sun).  It is usually things that folks have been working on during the previous week.  This one is sort of a game, restarted each month.  If you go to the start of the thread the rules are often there.  Some months they don't renew them.  Look back over the lists at the end of or near the beginning of a month to find others.

Have fun,

Richard

Here is one i did maybe 20 years ago. An undecorated Athearn BB U30, modified by Chuck's Chop Shop to a U-18B. I added prototype details, painted, and decalled like the prototype. MEC 404 is Independence Class, named Kenneth Roberts after the author who wrote so many historical novels located in Maine during the early days.

Absolutely no problem, De Luxe.  It happens a lot... well, now and then but it's not a big deal.  I'm just glad you chose to participate and hope you will again.

I believe that last request was Show me a loco or freight car detail project

De Luxe, your photo... while interesting, doesn't qualify.  It needs to be from your layout or your clubs layout, and since you didn't make a request I guess we're still looking for the last request.

To be honest I didn´t even realize that this is some kind of game inside this thread! In the beginning I just thought that it´s a thread where people post various photos of their stuff in order to show what´s new in their collection/on their layout and/or how they progress with their model railroader projects/work. Since I felt that my 2 trains that I photographed yesterday were worth of being shown here, I just put the photos inside this thread, like in some sense "that´s my new stuff for April 2013 and I just wanna show you this". But NOW I start to realize that this is a "show me something" game!!! Sorry for that! I´m not into these kind of games, so I leave it to another member to make a new "show me something" request/suggestion. Feel free to delete all my postings in this thread!

I made the antenna(s) on the locomotive with the stanchions from BB Athearn loco handrail parts. The rest is music wire cut and bent to shape.
