Coffee in a SUNNY SOUTHERN mug, please.
***Jerry, nice layout pic. Sending healing thoughts both Sallie and yours way.
Woke up feeling like a knife was stuck into the back of my ribcage (low right-center shoulder blade) and couldn't move without even greater excruciating pain. Eventually managed to get out of bed, take some motrin and get an blue-icepack to lay on. Same spot has on occasion said hello in the past, but not this bad. Has eased off as the day has progressed. Must have tweaked it doing something yesterday out on the farm.
A few more structures arrived from playing on the-bay recently. Should have enough to work with for the future (HO) layout expansion.
Have a nice evening folks!
Cheers! Rob
Evening All,
MOH is at a purse party tonight so waffles for me in a bit.
I feel proud of myself today. I reinstalled the 2 signals I removed for the track widening. One worked fine first time but the second one worked initially then quit working. I tried everything I could think of without success. I left it alone for about 20 minutes then went back and found the problem and fixed it. Only took about 2 hours. What helped was when I first installed them I made a very detailed drawing of the hookup with notes on the side of it..
Jerry- I am saying prayers for Sallie.
Jeff- After reading your post I think you are a computer wizard
Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Well,
WE did a lot of running today.
Got some stuff for FIL, went to see MIL.
Got the taxes done. we get some back that is nice..it will certainly come in handy! Usually we do them at Jackson Hewitt the first week of Feb as soon as the documents are in. But this year, with the new tax codes to be done, they were saying you have to wait to file, so we waited all together. Normally the money would go to something fun or to debt service, but this time it will be saved to pay the loan payment of the new loan we took out the Day before MOH got fired! It was a consolidation loan as it was. WE will save the refunds to fund the loan payments this time. We can't kind ignore the Credit Union when the loan comes due nad they take it out of the checking account. So the refunds will buy us some time.
Went to the CU to modify said loan so will be paid for one year shorter than it would have been before.
STILL no word so MOH must have "won" the case for unenjoyment. AT least the guy never called back, and to date we haven't gotten word in the mail either. we assume the computer will tell MOH that there is no case under the case number when MOH calls on Sunday to register the claim for the week. I said we can Wait 30 days and if we haven't heard form them and the claims go through every week we must have won. Then if all goes normal, we should be able to spend the meager unenjoyment we have been hoarding in case we have to pay it back!
So then we did a few other things to get off our minds.
Next week we take clothes to Salvation army and cans and bottles back to redemption center, should bring $20.
Tomorrow night we are having dinner with long time friends and MOH is baking a Black Forrest cake {complete with vodka soaked cherries and cake...don't drive after eating!} We kinda owe our friends the Black Forrest Cake...the love the ones MOH makes so much they say we could bring one anytime and they would be happy.
we are supposed to have something called "SUN" tomorrow and SUnday and maybe Monday...Hmmm wonder what THAT looks like? I see RAY is happy as a lark with his solar panels! We don't get enough sun to burn any energy except JULY and AUGUST.
Well, I am exhausted after the outing today...we ate at BK {horrible I know but once in awhile is nice}. fo the 2 for $5 special, and it was comparatively the same as a meal at home. Picked up a BK emjoyment app as they had them out for pickin' MOH doesn't really want to work there, but especially if unenjoyment goes awy will have to take any job. Of course they have to offer at least 15 hours or something to get what the unenjoyment brings in, but MOH can't refuse any J-O-B offered.
Well I go off now,,,
tomorrwo busy day

I enrolled in some college courses in the early years of this century to update my knowledge a bit. Most of my experience was on Apple II's and III's and IBM XT's and compatibles. I used an XT in my home up to 1995 when I bought a Pentium I with a DX4/100 processor and 4 megs of RAM with Win3.1 and DOS6.22. It didn't take long to upgrade to 8 megs RAM.

Sometimes I wish I knew more about the workings of the hardware, but then again...as long as it cooperates, I guess I don't care. Anytime it needs work is time to replace it as something on a motherboard fries. We could have gotten a used refurbished motherboard for our old computer, but they don't warranty that stuff and the repair people don't recommend such things. SO we bought a new one.
Watching godzilla vs the thing, whilst reading "A model railroaders guide to Diesel locomotives." I'm looking at Alco's FA2/FB2's I'll keep looking in here while I wait for my book on BN locomotives to get here, and my rapido lighting kits. I changed my mind on pre ordering those Lowell smith Alco RS3's in SP&S, I'd be better off painting and decaling my own.

Hi gang,
Did Vinnie hire that Chinese Cook that Todd recommended. If so when is the first Buffet. I don't want to miss that.
There seems to be a lot of aches and pains in the Gang right now. Rob, JR., Jeff, Barry, Ulrich, Ray, Jerry and Sallie, Galaxy, and I'm on my third regime of antibiotics since Christmas. Just cannot get the sinuses cleared up and keep them cleared. I never have had such a lengthy time of this. Head is just buzzing all the time. So if we keep lighting Prayer candles we'll likely burn the place down..... Lol But healing thoughts and Prayers for you all.
Blew more snow today, got all the personal and rental property receipts ready for the accountant and will drop that of tomorrow. Had a bath then an hour snooze and now I'm ready for supper. Chinese eh ????
I have slowed up lately on the layout, I covered all the plaster on Last Mountain with Gypso-lite and after drying it has turned a mottled color of tan & brown, Doesn't look bad but I think I would like it more grey. So I have been pondering what to do with it, any suggestions ????
Back to work for Sat. & Sun. so won't get too much done then or until I feel better.
Good to see Bama and Fergie around again. And Bridge Tom occasionally, but where is Sue.??? and have any of you heard anything from Blazzin Keith ? It's been a long time.
Keep smiling ya all. It sure looks good on ya.

Sure you do. I remember lots of sunny days down in the Southern Tier when I lived down there. Just don't see too many this time of year. Today ended up with quite a bit of the bright stuff outside here in the Finger Lakes, in fact the panels set a record I think for best day. As it was shutting down tonight I checked the inverter and it read it had produced 18.9 Kwhs today. More than I used today I am quite certain. Hope it is an omen of good things for this Summer when the big yellow thing does come out all day! Next couple of days are predicted to be "partly" outside.
Blackie is now sitting at my side begging to be picked up. So I better give him a bit of attention...

Had my trip into town this morning, helped my father clean out his car, got my new modem working after a bit of programming, looked at the possibility of remotoring an FP7 or or breaking it down for parts, installed body mounted Kadee couplers on a Roco US Army flatcar and watched some Cash Cab. Now I'm tired. It's time to pack it in for the night. See y'all in the morning.

Evening guys
Been busy trying to help a friend find an apartment. I've found about some leads, but she's not answering me back... We've been talking for about 4 years now, and she just recently moved from Arkansas to Pensacola and movedin with her stepsister. But her step sister and her boyfriend kicked her out. If I had my own place I'd let her stay with me, but I have the feeling she can't afford to drive to me (I've offered to pay for her gas, but she said that it wouldn't seem right to her). I'm supposed to go out with her tomorrow, but I'm really worried about her right now... I really don't want her to have to go back to Arkansas...
Trainwise I picked up an Athearn RTR SD40-2 in BN. My first BN green & black SD40-2, my existing ones are a ATSF and a Bicentennial BN. This one came with a decoder, but has messed-up fans, missing lights and a numberboard, and missing the plow. I think I have everything I need for a fix-up in my parts box. The thing is the guy said it runs great. I may use the motor in the ATSF one until I get the BN one fixed up (haven't heard back from athearn about another motor or an SD40-2 sideframe)
Ken, not yet. I probably will tomorrow, but if I wind up going to see my friend (see above) I might not be able to.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Good Evening Fellow Diners,
I think it has been about a month since I was last here. Times flies when you're having fun or so they say.
Jerry, sure hope Sallie is feeling better soon and gets back home. I like the circus train. I drop into N scale community and often see your posts there.
Ken, I have a BMan GP9 in CN of course which is on the layout now. It is a nice loco for the money. As I don't MU I have the stock decoder in it. I tried to put in a cheap Digitrax sound decoder but the sound was terrible so I just pulled it. Very little room for a sound decoder unless you go to a micro. It runs nice though. Kleins has them on for $60 and the GP30 for $45.
I'm slowly working on the N scale but very slowly. I hope to get the scenery to the point where next up will be the roads and then once the town buildings are done I'll move on to ground cover and ballasting. That should be in 2015 at the rate I'm going. I can easily run trains on it but rarely have anything on the tracks as I tend to just run the HO if I want to run trains. I guess I should just make up my mind on a scale but I'm reluctant to do so. I like both but it is getting expensive although I don't buy much for the HO any longer. Well, except for the 8 hatch reefer and the BLI pacific that is supposed to be shipped next week. Then there was a deal on a set of Kato n scale PA's that I just had to have and so it goes.
We sure have a lot of the white ground cover here. There is a pile at the end of my driveway courtesy of the city's front end loaders that is well over 6 feet, maybe 8. It should start melting next month if we're lucky.
See you all soon,
CN Charlie

Good Morning!
After a few nice days, winter is back! And it is here to stay until Easter. The weather guessers predict up to 10" of that wet white stuff coming down in the next 24 hrs. - who needs THAT?
Had my Dad´s car towed to the garage this morning. Hopefully, they will fix it up with two new tires on Monday. This will give Petra and me a break, before we have to see my parents again. When I called them this morning, they seemed to be fine.
This is going to be a just relax & do nothing weekend. Petra is cooking up something nice smelling right now - it´s a mouth watering smell!
Have a good weekend!

GOOD MORNING!!!
Today is Saturday, March 9th, 2013!!! {yes, already!!}
tonight, at 2 AM, Daylight Savings Time, USA starts! FOR those WHO DO change their clocks in the USA, turn your clocks AHEAD one hour tonight {"spring ahead"}. So tonight, 2 AM becomes 3 AM !!! We Lose one hour of sleep, so plan accordingly!!!
The prayer candles willl be lit as long as we are home!
Make it A great day!
*snort, sniffle* Huh? Morning? Awww crud! I fell asleep at the rivet counter last night. Sorry ladies for crashing, but apparently I was more tired than I thought I was. Well, since its morning, I'll have a double order of biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage and a tall glass of milk. Yes, I'll take it right here at the counter.
Have to go to w**k today, so dunno how much time I'm going to have for MRR stuff, also have church set-up this evening, so may not get ANY time for MRR stuff today. Oh well, I can always read my newest issue of Model Railroader (wait, that counts as MRR stuff, don't it?!) Glad to be able to get in here more often, even if it is just to kinda ramble on and on about life in general.
For all of those that are sick and ailing, I offer my sincerest thoughts and prayers to you, and for all y'all with sn*w on the ground, I offer thoughts of sunny days with warm temps to melt it.
Speaking of sunny days and weather in general today's forecast: Sunny, high of 72, winds around 5mph out of the west. Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be much the same. I must say that I do believe that spring is on the way.
Welp, the food is here, so I guess I'll commence to eating, then be on the road for w**k. Again, sorry for crashing out here on the counter, if'n I'd new I was going to be falling asleep, I would have taken the back booth with Duke and crashed there.
Later taters!
Good morning. It's 55° with 98% humidity. The high will be 72°.Looks like we might get a little rain today. Today I'll probably be body mounting Kadee couplers on some freight cars I got recently. Other than that I don't think I'll be doing much. I've learned this new modem takes a bit longer than the old one to get up to speed. If I start the computer too soon it can't load some programs that need to be online. So the new rule here is start on blue. When the modems sync LED turns from green to blue start the computer. I can live with that.
Morning, I think?

Morning All,
Not much happening this way. Will probably go to the club later for a bit. Go back to w**k tomorrow so the 1 hour less sleep will make me tireder than normal on the first day.
Next Wednesday is MOH's birthday, and next Friday (weather permitting) I am driving up to Gainesville to watch NHRA qualifying for the Gator Nationals. I am supposed to meet a friend that will already be there.
Ulrich- I'm glad tings are working out for you finally.

Hope everybody has a good day and prayers for those in need.
