 Good Late Evening

Flo, wake up and get me aBeer Pleases.

Got out of work at a godawful time, 9:35 PM! Bang Head Plus I did not make any real money to boot. Seems like as soon as the other counter people left I got slammed, no let up till 7:45 and we close at 8:00.

Health Front, I am a little worried! I got a call at home saying I have a appointment this coming Friday? Reason I am worried is when I was at the Ulcer Clinic this Tuesday they ordered X-Rays and Blood Test to see if I have a active infection. I was told I would be called if there was a problem. Was this the call,  or was it the fact they forgot to cancel the Friday appointment when I found out I could make this last Tuesday appointment? Whistling

Train Front Vince's old PK 2000 GP 20 must be his April Fools Trick on me, just got here a little early! Yep, it up to it old same trick, won't run! Tried to start it, lights came on and it just smirked at me, tried rocking it, just smirked at me with it's LED's! Moved it from the B line to the A line, ran just fine. Moved it back to the B line, running just fine again? Whistling Well as long as all I have to do is pick it up and move to get it to run, I will live with it's quark.

Bachmann GP 30 This is sort of a Jeffery question but chime in if you can help. While I have the PK GP 20 and the Bachmann GP 30 speed matched, the Bachmann motor make some racket. It sort of sounds like a DC engine being ran on DCC, just not as bad. Will a better decoder (thinking about the NCE drop in) help quite the motor down any?

Well looks like I am closing the dinner again.

   Later, Ken

Evenin' folks!

Janie just a hot cup of decaf for me.

Flip, good to hear Deb's surgery went well!  Hope her recovery goes smoothly.

Evidently the Finger Lakes must have gotten more sunshine than over in Barry's neck of the woods today.  Solar panels kicked out 16.4 Kwhs today bringing the total for the month of March to about 285 Kwhs.  tomorrow could bring it over 300.  The best month so far, but still not near what it should do come summertime.  Not bad for a cloudy and snowy day around here.

I took a large check from my church down to deposit in the MLK Scholarship account today.  Then went to the car wash to get rid of a heavy coating of salt from the last couple weeks.  Then I did some grocery shopping.  Later this afternoon I actually spent some time working on the railroad...  I found I have to start the grade that will take the line over the gorge and into the reverse loop is not long enough to have the road coming down the hill I have been doing go under an overpass for the Railroad.  A horse and buggy might just squeak under (If the driver ducked), but no truck would ever get under it.  Still may have to lower the road a bit to make it believable.

Blackie was out here wanting to be picked up and cuddled for a while earlier tonight.  He is definitely walking better!  Will be interesting to see in a few weeks how his blood sugar is doing.

Hope all of you have a great night!  Prayers for all in need...  Do wish Ulrich would show up...

My eyes are still aching but nothing like they were this morning. My vision has cleared quite a bit also. The right eye is a clear as it's going to get but the left is still blurry and very light sensitive. It si however much clearer than it was this morning and I'm not having to depend so much on large print. Hopefully my vision will be back to normal by Sunday.

Time to call it a night here. See y'all tomorrow.

Just checking in. Deb's surgery went well. Dr. wants the stitches to stay in longer than usual because he found extensive damage due to R.A.

We continue to have all included in our prayers.

Wish Health to all and a good nights sleep.

Evening All,

Had spaghetti for supper. Now MOH is snoozing on the couch.

Ended up not doing much of anything today, just some puttering around. It seems strange not to have some significant layout project going on.

Gary- Great looking P-40. Did you paint the "tiger" or decal it?

Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

well, we did a lot today

Thank you for all the well wishes for MOH, but may not look so good. First ALL application materials HAVE to MAILED in and RECIEVED by April 15th. The real kicker? Two of our BEST letters-of-recommendation people {also best employment references} are out of  the country for 2 weeks!! And IF they DON't get stuff in by the 4/15 deadline, MOH is Screwed. We have another reference friend, BUT is not a work reference.

Second, they recommended a study guide and practice tests book for the test. MOH and I went to Barnes and Noble to get it {$25 which is a LOT of money forus now}. MOH was taking the practice practice test, lost on half of it and I had to help with much of it. SO MOH may NOT do so well...and placement into the LPN program comes based on scores of tests..higher gets in faster. SO, MOH will have to do LOTS of studying and MAY have to get some basic general math practice/update books to work with too. {dunno where that money will come from} SO LOTS of work ahead. Also, naturally chemistry is part Of LPN work, and although MOPH survived high school chemistry better than I did {I barely made it out alive}, MOH has forgotten lots of it! We kinda knew this was coming, but not so hard on MOH we were hoping.

Went to get Sunday Easter dinner fixins. And get some groceries for In laws.

Then off to the In Laws, and FIl naturally wanted to be er um ah "difficult". HE wanted to go out to do shopping we can do for him. AS I told MOH, FIL is like a dog, you have to let him out once in awhile. FIL's trip of "only 15 minutes" takes 3 hours. He gets sidetracked and lost on his way home. SO now MOH has to go back out tonight because FIL called once we got home and INSISTED he HAVE the items {Ramen noodles of all things} TONIGHT. Can't wait til tomorrow for them, MUST BE tonight!

Wat else? I did the banking this AM. State tax refund STILL not in yet. WE certainly could use it with the expenses MOH seems to need to rack up for LPN entrance. WHat's left will go to savings so we have it for loan repayment before we have to default.. Can't count on student loans to cover living expenses YET.

Well what else:? we did more than my back cared to do that is for sure!

Having garlic sauce sauteed chicken cubes over noodles with a side of corn. Maybe asparagus, it was on sale at the store so we bought more than enough for Easter dinner. SO maybe that instead. Fresh asparagus. Yum.

Dryer was sounding fine, but started to squeal again yesterday. Thanks for all the tips on what could be wrong. there were suggestions for more parts than I thought a dryer had. We may still have to buy a new one as If I get it apart I surely won't get it back together again. besides it is old and worn out and gets a LOT of use. Maybe it will settle down again when everything cools off inside..as it ran for 4 loads in sequence the other day. Seems to run fine with only a load or tow at a time.

well, I tried ot nap, but then FIL called and interrupted with his NEED for tonight. SO that was ruined.

Well I guess I should get to dishes left over form yesterday so they are not in the way for tonight's cooking.

AND go get the mail if there is any.

Jeff- Glad  it was only pink eye. I had a EMT partner many years ago that had to get out of EMS because Diabetes was causing significant vision issues.

Been there and done that. I had to get several clouded areas in each eye vaporized via laser some years ago. It was quite uncomfortable but effective. And no, it wasn't cataracts. These were clouds of blood floating in the liquid in the eyeballs. Talk about seeing red!

Galaxy- I'm really glad YOH seems to be catching her second wind so to speak.

Gary- How about some pics of your planes.

I am really getting worried about Ulrich. Is there any way to find out if  he is OK?

Jeff:  Better get that looked after...that does not sound good!!!Angel

Already looked at. It's a bad case of pinkeye. I get it sometimes when pine pollen is real heavy. This year it's thick on everything. Just have to keep treating them with eye drops. It'll clear up eventually. Until then I have to live with the pain, blurry vision and light sensitivity. Right now I'm in a daark room and I have my sunglasses clip-on on my glasses while I look at the video screen.

Rob: That particular morning snake wasn't on the menu. Never tried Blue Racer. I've had rattler. Pretty good when it's cooked right.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar, and a cup of dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug.  Please and Thank You, Ma'am!

So far not a bad day here in the Finger Lakes.  Currently 39°F (the high for the day they say) under partly skies.  A bit of brightness is peeking through now and then although they are calling for Barry to send the gloominess from his location due East to where I live later today.  I will use today to get caught up on a large list of items that have benn piling up for the last several days.  Feels good not to use half the afternoon driving to Canandaigua to feed my sister's cats.

Jeffrey, as others have said, get thee to an eye doctor and get checked out.  Nothing to put off!

Galaxy, good luck for your "other half" with the entrance exam!  Keeping her in my prayers.

Blackie seems to be walking a bit better and actually paid a visit to my bedroom last night.  First time he has ventured to that part of the house in close to 2 months.  I picked him up and put him on the bed for a few minutes and he was very happy....  Then I picked him back up and took him to the couch in the Living Room for the night.  He is now walking up on his legs rather than on the back of his hind legs.  Still very wobbly, but an improvement for the little guy.

Hope each of you has a great day out there!

hey gang I think I snapped abut 200 pictures, anywho brought something home from the gift shop a 1:72 or 1:48 scale P-51D for myself and grandpa bought an SR-71 model that I will build, paint, and make a good model out of for him. off to wash them parts, and write a list for the paints I'm gonna need.

Good luck with them Gary!

Same plans as always for today, but there's an early dissmisal, so that's more time for me unless I have work.

Jeffrey- sounds like you need a Dr.. an Eye specialist!

Maybe you should go before you totally lose your vision?

Well

MOH is off to the learning institution to See about getting into this fall's LPN program. Off with  a generic resume, a copy of glowing Letter of recommendation form former employer and info on the LPN program along wiht a check to pay for the Entrance exam. I hope that doesn't cost to much. we can't afford it.

Then I go off to the bank to see if the State income tax refund is in and get some $$ form my check.

Then we go grocery shopping for in laws and for Easter dinner...Lamb, Mushroom gravy, garlic herb roasted red potatoes and corn plus dessert of some kind. Will cook it here and take plates to In Laws. MIL looking forward to it.

Tehn maybe back to the CU for money transfer of state check.

Then a well deserved nap after collecting free bread day.

printed coupoms to use next week when new SNAp is in.

Dunno what else trouble I can get into. we'll see!

have a good day.

Good morning. It's 33° with 88% humidity. The high will be 65°.

I started typing this post at 5am. I'm usually a fairly fast typist but lately I've been having a hard time. I woke up about 3am feeling like crap and still feel like crap now. My vision isn't any better rather quite the opposite. I have the text on my screen set to something like 18 point so I can read it without straining my eyes too much. Both eyes are effected now. It feels like the aftermath of a visit to the vision clinic multiplied several times. The last time they were this bad was in the late 90's and I had a job then that required me to drive two hundred miles a day. I didn't have much choice in the matter. Most of that was in the early morning hours and on dirt roads mostly. It was a boring job but it had it's moments. One morning I found that I had a stowaway. There was a five foot snake in the car and it was right between my feet! I proved conclusively that you can still drive while tap dancing on a snake and running up the backrest of the drivers seat on the cheeks of your butt while cussing a blue streak all at the same time.

Well enough about that. It's taken me over an hour to put together this little bit and I have other things I need to do. I don't know if I'll do any layout work today.

Good Morning!!!

Hm......still no Ulrich.

Coffee and two eggs over medium, hashbrowns, three strips bacon (the maple sugar kind), a couple buttermilk biscuits with butter and blackberry jam, and a waffle with maple syrup please. Thank you.Smile

Still sn*w on the ground but not for much longer with forecasts like this and better it looks through the week. Partly sunny, with a high near 41.

Speaking of Church’s and Easter Sunday, we just here what a couple weeks ago, finished our sprucing up of the Sanctuary. New carpet and paint and…new lights that look remarkably like the old ones but are MUCH more efficient. Here’s a shot from the front looking towards the back while setting pews back after carpet.

Here’s a shot finished from the back.

Sorry about the mess....but you know how it is. Looking to pack the place Easter Sunday and the "overflow room" too. Pews seat 100 comfortably and on Easter, we get maybe 125 to 150.

Well, today I must order the parts for the sn*wblower before it get’s to be next year and we have this giant sn*w again and….well you know. Do it now and get it over with, that's what I say Jack. What I DO however, is another animal all togetherLaugh. I’ll also take the thing outta the back of the truck since I have located the parts and the numbers from places other than John Deere WHO doesn’t acknowledge the existence of the device which has broken by the wayConfused, but Murray doesWink. Yup, John Deere 1028E is a green Murray.  Anywhoo, figure I won’t need to prove to the parts guy at Big R it exists and if he can’t help me, I’ll order them myself from Murray. I’m sure he can though. Then, I must get the couple tiny mite bikes and the beetle looking car thing from the foundations garage to assemble for the Easter Egg hunt Saturday now that I can get to it. Then….who knows.

Hmm I might wait to go to the Chinese buffet until tomorrow. We'll see. See tomorrow is the day my Lucky Star will be shining according to a fortune cookie I received awhile back. Might get even better service, maybe the waitress will bring me my food so I won’t have to even get up! Like Nancy did with my peaches,  Leechies and ice cream before she left  ”you stay, I make for you”. Maybe feed me. Maaaaybeee...... even a songBig Smile.
