Hi Fellas,

Just sitting here listening to the pre-game show. I'm not one to go out to a super bowl party even though football is one of my favorite sports. Its a shame my packers are not there. Been enjoying so junk food today also chips, wings, pizza, lol.

Also reading more of Model railroad planning. I ran some trains today and built a couple freight car kits that have been gathering dust beside my workbench. I start my new job tomorrow, well kind of. I have orientation at 10am but I think it will only be a few hours at the most and I don't start actually until Wednesday night at 7pm. I don't know how I will hold up doing a night shift, 12 hours at that. Anybody that works 12 hours or night have any tips they can lend?

Thanks CCW. Now I finally know what my problem is.  At age 76 , it is nice to know what I'm affected with.

I thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of this one. It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1956.

I should be safe a little while longer. I was born in 1960. On the other hand, maybe not. I can think of something to do and get up to go do it. Yep, you done figured that one out! I done forgot what I was going to do.Laugh

A little humor for your day!!!

I thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of this one. It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1956.

Symptoms:

1. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice. done that!

2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail! that too!

3. Causes you to send e-mail to the wrong person. yep!

4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you. Aha!

5. Causes you to forget to attach the attachment. well darn!

6. Causes you to hit "SEND" before you've finished. Oh, no - not again!

7. Causes you to hit "DELETE" instead of "SEND." and I just hate that!

8. Causes you to hit "SEND" when you should "DELETE." Oh No!

IT IS CALLED THE "C-NILE VIRUS."

SUPER BOWL: Neither will my Falcons or Seahawks or Cardinals win. Maybe I should root for the Ravens, since after all they are still a "bird team".Laugh

I'm just curious, anyone know what type of tank car is being used with these locos and if it would be carrying extra water or oil? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIbMcJ3jxKo

Now that's funny, LION!!

'Bout spit out my barley pop! Can't wait to call my daughter the Viqueen fan and tell her that one!We, of course, are Green Bay Packer fans. They won't win, either!

With the exception of Church I've spent the major part of this weekend downstairs swapping out wheelsets. Got all the freight cars done and moving on to passenger cars.Kind of relaxing hearing the " clickity clack" in the background as a train goes by.

Hope things are improving for everybody. Today's message was Psalm 37, "fret not and have faith and delight in " you-know-who". Works for me.

Looks like a perfect fit, Ray. Well done!

Worker just left for the day and was worth every dollar. 4 projects now FINISHED. If he makes it back tomorrow, will put him to work stringing fence. Now I'm entirely spent from working with him much of the time. He's on his own tomorrow.

To tired to test out the new little Bachmann Climax. Really should do so soon and make sure it actually runs.

Got the breakfast thing taken care of this morning. Had a crowd of eight. I showed my great nephew another one of my locos. An FP7. He was absolutely nuts about it. From there I went grocery shopping. Now I'm home feeling a bit worse for the wear.

Jeff, glad the service for your Mom was good and well attended, speaks very well for the Lady she was.

Thanks. It wasn't overly religious. She wouldn't have liked that. And there was no organ music. She hated the sound of the organ.

Afternoon folks,

Just a cup of hot chocolate please, Chloe...

I made it to church this morning.  Think I should start going more often.  I walked in the door which was opened by one of the ushers whom I have never seen before, and he said "welcome and hope you enjoy worshiping with us this morning...."  I grinned and started to laugh.  I've been a member there for over 30 years now...  In fact this church technically wasn't around back then, it was two separate Presbyterian churches that merged about 24 years ago.  My granddaughters were singing in the little folks choir this morning so I sat way down front (we Presbyterians usually sit in the first available seat in the back of the church) with my DIL.  Son had just gotten home from w*rking all night and has to go back to w*rk right after supper tonight (lots of overtime!) so he decided sleep was more important.  One of the kids in the youth choir, probably 3rd. grade I would guess, adopted me for the rest of the service.  When they got done singing, all the rest of the kids went and sat with their families.  He decided to just sit with me.  He has a beautiful voice and he sang Soprano while I held down the Bass part on the hymns!  Fun!

TMarsh
Ray- Shame on you! You need to keep things cleaner around there. Why that water tower is practically brand new and look what’s happened just sitting in your basement. It looks like it’s been around for EVER sitting by some railroad track. Just can’t keep anything new around you can we.

Well, since it is the original water tower on the roof of the power plant and has been there for about half of its expected life, it should be a bit dirtied up by now....Smile, Wink & GrinLaugh

Dennis, on the Mac, I do Shift/option/8 all held down at the same time and get °.  I believe the PeeCee has now caught up to where the Mac was back in 1984 and now can do something like that as well.  LOL

I'm gonna go steal one of them donuts still sitting out on the counter...

Later!

 Hi Gang,

I guess I'm a little late for lunch, but with all the talk about those famous southern dishes, it has really wet my appetite.

So Chloe, if you please, set me up with some BBQ ribs, home fries a couple of frogs legs some deep fried okra and a double RBF.  thanks much.

Well, I haven't submitted a Sunday History Lesson for quite some time now, but seeing it is Super Bowl Sunday, please let this be my contribution to a great day.

I can't seem to get this to be a link, so if one of our Buddies here could help me out it would be appreciated by this old dog.

You are all bound to enjoy this video link.

***Dennis, hope you got that window covered up. How about pics of the progress in that area? Would be interested in seeing it.

Lets just say that I got started on that window project. Got the chloroplast cut to size and then had the bright idea that rather than the outside side being plain old white, it would look nicer if I painted a landscape scene on it. That's what's on today's agenda among some other Honey Do stuff.

I finally sorted out what was going on with my Digitrax Super Empire DCC system. It's working fine now that I defaulted everything to factory settings. Boy, that was a lot of digging around in the manual.

Anyway, it's a beautiful day here in sunny Alberta. 32 F with a small temp increase of about 4 degrees. No darned wind either. All is well!

Oh yes, I am documenting the "Window Project" with pictures and will post when done Big Smile

Have a good one everyone

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and the Sunday Breakfast buffet and oh, I see you have a donut bar, thank…. Indifferent DONUT BAR!!!!! WOW!!! A DONUT bar!!!!! Oh this place is great!!!!!

Well, came in yesterday, wrote one post and then got sidetracked then never got backEmbarrassed. Came in to the office this morning, computer was sitting here still signed in to the diner. Hm. Feel kinda like Duke sleeping in here all day and night.Zzz

Dennis- Actually I’m about as computer knowledgable as that chair you’re probably sitting in. As for the degree sign, at the “suggestion” of Jeffrey several years ago, I type my postings in Word first, then copy and paste to the forums. In Word they have these Symbols that you click on and “poof”….degree sign. Took me a while to find it though.

Jeffrey- I see you very much in your Mothers picture. I hope you all enjoyed the fond memories of the many ways she touched all of your lives. And HECK NO the chips never got opened! Who cares about chips with all that other delicious food! My gosh I’da shoved em to the side myself headin for something else. Save the chips for bologna

Ray- Shame on you! You need to keep things cleaner around there. Why that water tower is practically brand new and look what’s happened just sitting in your basement. It looks like it’s been around for EVER sitting by some railroad track. Just can’t keep anything new around you can we.

Confused Laugh

Ate at the Huddle House last night myself. Had the visitation of a friend….well more of a little betterna quaintance, ’s Father who passed away. Never met the man myself and neither had Brenda though she had talked to the Mother over the phone about grain dealings yet never actually met her, but I guess he’d been bad for awhile and it was a blessing. Aaaaanyway, stopped at the Huddle House to eat before the ‘70’s party uptown. We didn’t dress the part due to the visitation, though I dress pretty much like I did in the ‘70’s to this day. You know jeans and t-shirts, flannel shirts in the winter. Lot’s of stereotypical ‘70’s attire there. Laugh

Welp I best get a movin,(wish I’d read Jeff’s BBQ post closer to eatin time, got my stomach rumbling some kinda bad now.) not gonna make it to Church. Scratch that, didn’t make it to Church. Brenda’s still doin some housewo*k (Pressing the sheets) but there’s plenty to do like…yes, more laundry. We have to go to the grocery place and then probably we will eat. Not necessarily in that order and then, and THEN, barring any plans to the contrary from you know who……I may get to play with my trainset. Let’s hope.

Ooops, she’s up. Just heard “Missy!.....really?” which means Brenda has opened her eyes and is staring right in the face of a brown Labrador Retriever just an inch or two away trying to share her pillow. Common occurance. Me? I seem to get the dangerous end.

Did you ever notice dogs do not care in what proximity your face is to theirs when they sneeze? She's recieved a couple of wake up blasts over the years too. They don't seem to be appreciated though.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

 Morning Dinners

Flo, diet dew to go pleases

Well, back to work here is a few. I sure hope today goes better than yesterday. Nothing major happened yesterday, but a lot of small stupid stuff.

Wonder how today is going to go, with it being the Super Bowl I was thinking it was going to be slow. But, we got a fair amount of snow last night, so we might be somewhat busy. Your guess is as good as mine.

 See you later,  Ken

Good morning. It's 47°F with 80% humidity. The high will be 68°F with some clouds.

I'll be going to my fathers place in a few hours to help prepare breakfast for the family. So that'll be me, my father, my younger sister and her other half, my older niece and her son and whatever other family members show up.

Not surprisingly no layout work was done yesterday. Maybe I'll have time to do some today. But I wouldn't bet on it.

And if the photo below is any indication the Nikon seems to have survived it's recent trip to the concrete.

Good evening.

Ken ..... Do you mean your day was like this  Super Angry  :

Flip and Curt ...... I'm glad you guys can get together.

JimCG and Curt .... The Great Northern vehicle was called a "bruck" meaning half truck and half bus. Sort of a highway combine. Ity transported passengers and their bags from the trains station on the GN main line to Glacier National Park

BN24-Gary ..... Oh, you are bright person. You can handle the math class. I suggest taking small bites, but doing so very often. Carry some practice problems with you, and stop and do one every once in a while. Spend some time regularly reviewing prior assignments, too. Some math is like building blocks and depends on stuff you already have done. .... Keep telling yourself "I can handle it."

Ray .... I like your water tower. Looks like a prize winner!

Evening gang! Cowboy

Busy day, Took Dj to work, drove to the Timonium show (only spent 12 bucks), visited Mom in the hospital. She's sitting up and talking, and my sisters are keeping her company. Then an hour drive to pick up the kid, then home.

Local radio station is having fun with the RDS part of their signal. Between song titles it flashed "GO" then "Ravens"

LOL!
