Good morning.

School today. I'll buff the P-38 when I get home, and maybe some layout work if work doesn't get in the way this evening.

Barry .... We're concerned about you. Praying for your health.

Ulrich ...... Glad you are doing what is best. Prayers for you. ..... I recall moving my Mom, but as I have said, my two sister cooperated. My Mom cried a lot at the time, but within  couple of months, she loved her new home.  She continued to be very happy now.

Todd. ..... Where are your chop sticks today.

Ken .... I hope it was a good b'day!

Ray .... Wow!. The forest looks great so far.

Good morning. It's 61°F with 100% humidity. The high will be a wet 72°F.

I'm still waiting for the last Atlas FP7 I ordered. The delivery estimate was between the 19th and 27th and that time is rapidly running out. There's no tracking number indicated so I can't tell where it is at this time. Maybe it'll come in today. If it doesn't no great loss. I only paid $20 for it.

The possibility of any outdoor work today is pretty much nixed by the weather. The weather guesser says 80% (or more)chance of severe thunderstorms. It ought to be interesting.

Layout work is on the agenda today. If I don't get it cleaned up a junk dealer will probably move in and take up squatters rights! There's locos, cars, cameras, tools, bits and pieces of projects and assorted junk all over.

I'll probably dart into the big town for groceries and pick up some of that matte finish spray. What I have is to old and nasty. Have a good day all.

Tracking numbers happen only when the product is shipped.

You should have an ack number issued by the vendor, esp if card was charged.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Organic Flax Seed Granola cereal and a pot of dark roast coffee this morning...  Thank you Ma'am!

Took Blackie for his Vet appt. first thing this morning.  When I got up he was sitting on the little rug where his food is usually kept.  The food had to be hidden last night so he could have a "fasting" blood sugar done.  His blood sugar was 182 this morning and the Vet said she was very pleased with considering what it was when he was there before...  She didn't say exactly but mentioned above 250.  She thinks this regimen will work for him for a while at least.  I will be making an appt. to take Manét over for a baseline blood work soon.  Since he is  a litter mate of Blackie he is also at risk.

Today will be search the house for the lost invoice with information I need the financial statement tomorrow....  Grrrrrr....  Hope I can find a bit of time to do some hobby stuff as well.

Jeffrey, I guess your layout is in the same condition mine is at the moment!

Have a great day!

Mission accomplished!

Mom and Dad are now safely settled into the nursing home and we can hopefully wind down and get some relaxation. It feels good that they are now under the care of professionals, who know how to cope with dementia much better than Petra and I do. There will be a lot of administrative work to be done, but that´s an easy task compared to what we had to do in the last 6 weeks. Still a lot of unfriendly fire from my brother, but I just don´t care any longer.

Petra and I are done in. It´s too early to go to bed, but I doubt we will stay up late tonight.

Thank you so much for your support and prayers. You were a big help to us!

 Morning Folks

 Flo, Diet Dew Pleases.

Thanks for all the Cake wishes. They do mean something to me.

Work Front If I have to work this Saturday and I am pretty sure I will it will be 6 days straight! Man I am getting to old for this stuff!

Blood Sugar I will be getting my blood test for the next A1C test around March 3rd. Part of my problem is now that I am closing all the time, I eat late then go straight to bed. I know that is not good. Plus all my wife seems to come up wit for be to eat has starch in it.

Vince, I sent you a PM about the motor, just tell which one you want to uses. I am looking forward to getting the engines!

Ulrich Glad to hear you got your parents squared away.

Just sitting here wondering if I am going to be Tyler's Verbal Punching Bag today? Sigh

 See you all later.

Ulrich - Glad to hear you have got your parents squared away. I know how difficult that can be, especially if getting a hard time from your brother. My wife and I went through that with her mom a year ago. You and Petra get some much needed rest. My prayers are still with you,

Thank you so much for your support and prayers. You were a big help to us!

Good, I'm glad you got them squared away.

Tell you brother, unless he wants to drop everything and come IMMEDIATELY to evaluate the situation himself, you'll hear NO MORE COMPLAINTS OR AGRAVATION from Him!

Also, do you have something like "power of attorney" {POT} like we do here in the USA? It gives you the rights of the person of whom you have POT over,s o you can act as them for legal matters and for medical stuff. IF so , you should get POT of your parents so you can legally make the decisions for them. Your father can consent to giving it to you, you may have to file to get it on your mother's behalf.

Also. your sister, is there anyway she can got to special house for special people or have her in a "half way house" or is she already??

I commend you for taking control of the situation and having the incite to tell your brother where to stick it!

Yeah Bow Wow

Well here, I have a DRs appt tomorrow.Still have a nagging cough form the days of a cold for which I got antibiotics about 6 weeks ago....and having "hot flashes"! I go to extremes in temperatures rapidly. {andropause?? Low testosterone?? We'll find out!}

AND Thursday is a skills day event for anyone at the employment center MOH wants me to go to also, since MOH often wants my help or extra eyes for things like resumes!

NOW...if only I could SLEEP AT NIGHT...I sleep for about 45 mins and then up for a while.can't get back to sleep. Dunno.

Well, waiting to hear on my medicaid spend down  {it will go up again with MPH's unenjoyment} and on SNAP APP. Finally got all the paper work in, so now its waiting. I hope to hear my spend down by Thursday, I have to go do it then. Should be eliminated when we get the taxes filed, as we shouldn't have any spend down since it will cover up to 300% over poverty level now....We should not have payment to have it. we shall see. maybe it is until 2014 that that kicks in. Obamacare at work for us.

Well, off to bed soon to TRY TO sleep...

have a great night everyone!

Hello all, Snow falling out of the sky right now. Plows are clearing the street outside which means I had to find a place in the back for the SUV. Sort of parked it across my two parking spots cause they are filled up with my utility trailer and my Firebird which I don't drive in the winter. Summer car only don't ya know Big Smile.

Took off the masking tape on the continuing saga of painting the kitchen. Now MOH wants the cupboards painted too and I have to agree. Now that the walls are done they look pretty scruffy.

Laid a bunch of rain in my staging area but had to quit because I need two LH turnouts. Of course I've got tons of RH ers. Why is it that what you need is never what you have on hand? Super Angry Have to go pick up some tomorrow... clear across the city once again. GRRRR!

Had takeout last night so MOH could watch the Oscars. Both ended up sick Ick! probably food poising. Rough night to say the least but things are much better as of this hour. We'll see how supper goes down in about 10 minutes.

Nuf said for now. CU later Alligators

I'm impressed with my NW2 but the Kinectimatic couplers which are very troublesome and don't couple well and the low amount of pulling power is what kills it for me, but I'll get another one soon.

***Ulrich, so glad you were finally able to get the parents situated. Hope you two can relax some now and unwind a bit. You did great!

Been a long and trying day, physically. Could have cut/split/stacked three times the firewood, but am only up to smaller amounts on a good day presently. At least I can have a fire going during some of the coming chilly nights ahead.

Have a good night all.

Evening gang!Cowboy

Flo, Can I get some eggs over easy, and white toast. After this weekends mysteries I can't take anything fire cooked or smoked.

For those who missed it, the wife woke me up at 3:30 Friday morning because of smoke in the house.Surprise We realized it was coming from the woodstove, we let the fire die and later that morning went up on the roof to inspect the chimney. The "bird deterrent " screen was clogged, so off it came and was quickly cleaned. OK we thought. We fired it up Friday night, and even though it was better, our eyes stung and we could tell there was smoke in the air. Saturday we had a lot of running to do, so nothing got done. Sunday son #2 arrived and we cleaned out the woodstove and the chimney . Sunday was warm, and the 500 was on, so I didn't light the fire til almost dark. Still has the smell, and with a very bright light, the wife saw wisps of smoke occasionally coming out of the stove pipe, before it goes through the wall. I went into research mode last night, and 8 am this morning I found the culprit. Buried under the cinders, in the clean out pit alongside the foundation, was the door to the bottom of the chimney. Bent from being over tightened. I took it in the garage, straightened it, and reinstalled it. Relit the woodstove, and all is well Big Smile Its now 82 degrees in here!! and NO SMELL!Big Smile Who would have thunk something that looked like an 8 inch cookie tin lid would cause so much trouble!!

CDN Dennis. Just went trough the kitchen cabinet redo myself.  Thank God thats over!Mischief

Good evening.

Got a good start on that P-38 model. It turns out that the reason it seemed like that the paint wasn't drying was that it had a dusty film. I then decided to buff it with a t-shirt, and WOW did it start to shine!!!! The paint looks like it belongs on the P-51D Mustang or the ATSF's Super Chief cars.

Getting late, night everyone.

Evenin' folks!

Janie, my usual cup of decaf would do nicely right now...  Thanks!

I drove over to a RR overpass near Phelps, NY today to take some photos of it.  It was built in 1906 and is still in use by the FGLK.  The concrete is crumbling badly, but I guess it is still solid enough to have the occasional train go over.  I am considering using it as a bridge on the layout.  Would be a complete scratchbuild with hopes for a Merit Award toward Structures.  Added a few more tree trunks on the layout, but that is all i got done today.

Garry, thanks.  The Blacksmith's shop is at a standstill until i get the time to do more with it.  i have about 10 projects going at once down there and the biggest priority is to get the return loop up and running so I can run some trains....  I also am waiting for some supplies (which should arrive tomorrow) to finish the Powerhouse.

Guess it is time to call it a night and head out to catch some Zzz.

Prayer for all in need!
