The only reason you would be borrowing your parents car is to be able to go see them in the hospital. Borrow the darned thing and just don't tell them. It's not as if they are in any position to find out and even if they did, after all that you and your wife have done and are continuing to do for them..... they can just Get Over It!

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, So I got my doctor's permission to Join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour.. But, by the time I got my leotards on, The class was over.

went to Physical therapy this Am. I always feel good when i leave after they have massaged and tweaked my knee and hip, but Boy do I pay for it later.
Ran a few errands, including moving MOH's first unenjoyment check, the few measly crumbs it is to pay a loan. We opted to have the taxes taken out of it so it is a smaller amount.
I have the Psychiatrist later to go to and then I can relax at least until tomorrow AM when I have grocery shopping to do.
ULRICH- glad things are "working out" it sounds like. USE their car, it is not like they can!
Need to eat something before the Pyschiatrist.

Other than remounting the re-upholstered seat to the old JD, only to find that with the improved seat I need to go back and bend the old mounting tabs back in line with the rest of the tractor, all is good.
When the pygmy goats no longer responded to throwing rocks into the trees nearby to turn them away from the back of the house, I tried 5 rounds of birdshot into the ravine bank. Boy did that do the trick. They have been back in the big pasture ever since. Bwahahahaha!
Hope to have enough energy tonight to get down to the train room and do some actual cleanup work in there.

So I get up to go to the bathroom in the night and click the light but it doesn't go on?? go get a flashlight and change the bulb go to turn the light back on and nothing.............
So Today I go about taking a look at the fixture and making sure no wire nuts came loose or anything and then it hit me to change out the switch. I got to home depot and pick one up, I think it was a couple bucks. Picked up a couple actually. So I turn the power off and remove the old one and install the new one and stick a piece of electrical tape over the wire terminals ( just a weird thing I do I guess, just to make sure no other metal can touch the terminals ) turn the power back on a voila lighting again,lol. Its seems to turn on instantly now. I could tell that the switch was on its way out as there was sometimes a weird pause when flicking the switch and getting light. I should have done the hall light too when I had everything shut off.

Janie, I'll have a piece of the pineapple pie and a cup of decaf right at the moment.
Blackie is definitely feeling better, he has been over to the floor by the computer bugging me all day. Most times I picked him up and held him for a while. I soon figured out he was right back to bothering me... he wanted food! Now he has a bowl of food out in the kitchen at all times, but he has the most trouble walking on the tile floor in the kitchen. he is doing pretty good on the carpets, but he can't keep his hind feet under him on the tile. After I give him his pill in the morning, I take him a hand full of food to the couch where he stay much of time.... He eats it right out of my hand, and I know he has had some food with the pill that says "Take with Food". So now every time he is hungry, he thinks I should get a handful of food and hand feed him.... Talk about spoiled!

Did you hear about the lady that went to the Psychiatrist and said, "Doctor, you have to help my husband! He is convinced he is a refrigerator!" The Doc says, Ah... Have you tried telling him he is not a refrigerator?" Lady says, "Yes! But he is absolutely convinced he is a refrigerator. Please, you have to help him!" Hmmmm, says the Doc. "This must be very trying for you?" "It is!" She said. "He sleeps with his mouth open and that little light keeps me awake!" Sometimes it is difficult to know who is crazy and who isn't... In my case..... Well you already know the answer!
Speaking of lights... Jeremy, glad you got the fixture back operating again.
Speaking of working again... I spent much of the day replacing the way too long and partially filled up with lint dryer exhaust pipe. I may be very lucky it didn't ignite and burn down my house. Guess I should check once a decade or so in the future. I noticed the top of the dryer was getting extremely hot a couple of weeks ago and figured sooner or later I probably should do something about it. I have had good intentions ever since I noticed the problem. Had to do wash today, so I finally pulled the dryer out from the wall and unhooked the hose from the vent. Turned on the dryer and there was great air volume coming out of the back of the dryer... Hooked it back up, took off the other end of the vent hose as the thingy going outside and not much air volume... Hmmm! Finally decided my best path to fixing the problem was to just replace the vent hose and pipes. Didn't owe me much as it has been in service since about the time my wife died a quarter of a century ago.... Dryer isn't getting hot on top anymore.... Wonder why? Anyway it is a lot cheaper than buying a new dryer!
Oh! Ulrich, us people of Scottish decent are not, what was the term... chintzy! We are Frugal! Nuf said! Chintzy.... Harumf! Me grandmama was a Robinson and I be an Howard (English form of Hayward).. Be careful they are both Dunn Clan I believe! Don't mess with them guys!!!
Gotta get moving. Haven't lit the wood stove yet today and the house is getting chilly.

Put a Digitrax DN93 decoder in the Atlas Alco S2, not a pretty install, but it works and runs great.
Did some other work on the layout and now waiting for the turnouts and Switch Tender motors to arrive, should be here in a week. Even though I have Wednesdays off I probably will not do the installs until Sat. Then I can start on some scenery.

Not sure if you guys are aware or not but avoid the locomotive wiki a friend of mine on the N scale.org FB page tried to edit content which was false and misleading and was banned for it. an example of this is that "GP38-2's were passed down from the GN to the BN" that's weird apparently EMD locos contained time travel devices I wonder where they put the.... blast I can't think of the Back to the future reference.

On the BIG island {also called Hawai'i} we find the Defunct Kona Sugar Company Railroad. Here is more:
Scattered across the Hawaii Island landscape are remnants of old sugar mills, fields and even some feral cane can still be seen. But when Captain Cook came to the Islands in 1778, only wild sugar cane grew. The climate in Hawaii offered a perfect environment for raising sugar cane; cooling ocean currents keep the average temperatures around 80 degrees with frequent rains, abundant groundwater, and year-round sunshine.
Kona Sugar Company and West Hawai’i Railway Company Such was the seductive lure of easy riches to be gained by growing sugar in Hawai’i at the beginning of the 20th Century that investment capital for a large sugar plantation, sugar mill and railroad in Kona could be raised not once, but three times. The Kona Sugar Company plantation was established in 1899 and every available scrap of land was stripped of whatever crops had grown there previously and planted in cane. Although the sugar grew well enough at about 500 feet elevation, a notable lack of fresh water in Kona’s semi-arid landscape made Wai’aha Stream the only logical choice for the mill site. Unfortunately, the stream flow is vastly insufficient for year-round cane milling and the mill, built in 1901, went broke in 1903. Kona Sugar Company was bought by investors; renamed Kona Development Company, the plantation again went broke in 1916 and was in turn bought by investors in Tokyo. This group managed to eke out a profit until the industry imploded in 1926. Originally planned to run 30 miles, the railroad was only built to a total length of 11 miles in the twenty-seven years of sugar plantation operation. Work camps, communal baths, stables, workshops, and all the requisite infrastructure of a giant agricultural plantation lay abandoned in the Mauka Kona countryside. During World War II, the U.S. Army used the mill site as a training camp to acclimate troops to warfare on their way to the tropical Pacific Theater. Fearing the tall smokestack of the mill would act as an artillery landmark for any invading forces, the Army pulled it down and Kona lost one of its first post-contact, industrial landmarks.Traces of the rail bed can still be seen from the top of the Nani Kailua and Aloha Kona residential neighborhoods. Located along Hualalai Road, near the intersection with Hienaloli Road, are impressive stone breastworks and trestles for the railroad. Built by hand but still strong today, the rail bed can be explored and hiked from here. Ah! But I bet the ones you get from Walthers aren't Vintage, Unique, or hard to find i.e.....rare are they? Probably just the new ones so beware as they aren't worth as much. See these are the advantages of E-bay.

Zoe, I´ll have two burgers & salad to go, please. We are running low on food at home. Neither Petra nor I feel strong enough for that a little over a mile long walk to the next super market. Actually, we feel really rotten today. The flu still has its grips on us, with headaches, fever, coughing and, in my case, sleepless nights. Where are the god friends, when you need them? My friend Lothar and his wife have gone skiing, and our former friends are exactly that, former friends.
