Evening Folks: Kind of quiet here about today. Must be something to do with the storms and sn**fall aftermath in the east and south. Beautiful day here +28 F and sunny.

Busy kind of Monday for yours truly, started to paint the main floor bathroom. I abhor bathroom renovations Super Angry I hated doing them when I was in the Home Reno business too and I was getting paid to do it then.

Oh well, better I do it myself. I've got more time than money these days.

Train Front - Got a big box of goodies today! Couple of box cars, couple of lumber cars, a bulkhead flatcar and 2 woodland scenic ready to go buildings. I couldn't resist the Hardware Store and the Fire hall. The fire hall looks so much like the one here when I was a kid that it was a "Have to have".

Still working on the window fill in and staging yard tracks as time between painting and such permits. Pictures to follow when I get it done Wink

Hey Ken, aren't you the Cool Hand Luke with that car. What the heck is/was it????

Good Karma to all in need

Evening gang!!! Cowboy

Flo, can I have a RBF and some of that blueberry pie I saw in the case.Dinner

Been busy today, job searching, ran to the post office to drop of some packages from my ebay auctions, then a haircut, then back home to install a tsunami , still working on the ditch lights for the bugger, but my eyes have had enough for tonight. Drilling the housings and installing surface mount LED's is a young mans sport! Hmm

Galaxy, rest your back, it's the only one of them you got!

Ray, Poor Blackie! Hope the little guy feels better soon. Tinker has just gotten over her 3rd urinary tract infection in 6 weeks. 1st they tried this, then that, then x-rays, then blood tests, then diet changes. I started to get a little upset when the Dr. prescribed a certain cat food that was mostly made from grains. When Midnight was diagnosed with Diabetes 2 years ago (different vet) we were told it was caused by grains in his diet. Hmm Last week we decided to modify her diet with NO grains, and a lot more natural food with high meat percentages and higher moisture content. Vet seems pleased with her progress, but we havn't told the vet that we have deviated from her prescribed diet yet. Wink

Vince. recover the seat, repairing it will only stretch already stressed material. Then you will be doing a repair next to the old repair, then another, then another..............

Rob, that Dentist is an ouch at both ends! Surprise

Jeffrey, I guess you were ducking and covering today, hope its all alright!Huh?

Garry, got MIL on the prayer list! Angel

Ken. Kadee says a #5 id all ya need, ?? Glad to hear the foot is making progress, and since were in Hawaii, is that YOU with the red sports car??Laugh

Dennis. I know how you feel about painting. Spent my Saturday and part of Sunday rehabbing out laundry room. Putting in a new stationary tub moving the washer/dryer/freezer  and a whole slew of plastic storage tubs of stuff just to repaint a room that she washes clothes in and the cats go to potty in. 2 cats, 3 litter boxes, I'm not even trying to understand....I know she can count!!Confused

Well, gotta get my Walthers book out and look up some parts and email my LHS. Soooo sweet, he lets us regular (irregular?) customers email our orders by Tuesday, and pick up our orders on Friday!! AWESOME!!  Big Smile

Evenin' folks!

Janie, just another cup of decaf please...

Ran around town doing a lot of odds and ends, post office, credit union, the bank for the MLK Scholarship account and down to Lowes for a couple new fans to move heat around from the wood stove better.  Since it was warmer today the PIP stayed in EV mode the whole time so the trip cost me about 25¢ for energy.

I also got a bit more done on some projects for the layout.  I am making a sign to put on the powerhouse with the name of the plant, "Brownidge Station" named after Greenidge Station just South of here which isn't...  The place got mothballed a little over a year ago, but could come back online as a bio fuel generating plant.  I am trying to come up with a catchy name for the company running it like, Spark and Arc, Inc.  I dunno...  Suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks Karl, Blackie seems to be better at the moment.  I called the vet and we are cutting his medicine in half.  She says many cats can't tolerate the high dose.  She thinks that is why he was vomiting last night.  He has been acting much more normal this afternoon.  Ate some supper too.  He may still end up on insulin shots....  No meds today, and he gets half a pill tomorrow morning.

Think I shall head out to cut some Zzz.

See you all tomorrow!  Prayers for those in need.

Evening All,

35 degrees right now with a small crescent moon peeking through some clouds.

Had a oddball work schedule today 11 to 6. Made an appointment to see my family doc regarding my knee as requested by the ER doc, can't get in to see him until March 5. Glad it is not life threatening.Laugh

Need to order  2 #2 Wye and a #4 RH turnout from Walthers, and 4 Switch Tender motors from Micro Mark, so they get here by Fri. the 22nd, as I have that weekend off and can do some heavy work on the layout.

  Prayes to all in need.

Why am I up so early? I was never down. Certain side effects of some of my meds have kept me on the run to then throne room all night. Maybe I can get some sleep later.

No plans for today.

Goooooooooooood morning coffee shoooooopp!Clown

43 degrees right now, going for a high of 46, woohoo!

If I seem a little punch drunk right now, its cuz A) Tinkerbell decided to sit on my throat a 4:02 this morning and B) since I couldn't sleep I checked the bank account and not only did out state tax refund hit yesterday, but the Federal refund is pending for today!!

Finally after fighting Verizon for the last few weeks, the shipped me a new battery for my Phone yesterday. It arrived fully charged and since 6 p.m. last night  its only gone down to 83% life. And I checked my gmail this morning on it, and  checked some stuff on ebay!. The old battery would die in about 12 hours, even if I made NO calls or any email checks. When I first got it, it would generally last 2 days without a recharge. The girl at the local Verizon store told me that was normal to die in 12 hours, and proceeded to tell me that I was just lucky that the 1st battery lasted more than a few hours when new.Clown yeah right. I finally got fed up with the local store, and got SWMBO on the case. 20 minutes later, they were shipping a new battery to me, no charge!Big Smile She can be, shall we say, persuasive?? Laugh

Well, gotta fix a few things today, then its back to the Midland engines (my "Show me something" contribution for today)

Prayers for the ill, infirmed, tired , frazzled, and those with sick kittiesAngel

CUl8ter! Big Smile

Good Morning!!!

Hey!!!! Did I miss Petra’s Birthday???!!! Well Happy B-Day

Kona Coffee please, make it dark roast this time, didn’t know they had it, and ummmmm, how about…ohhhhh…, the Hawaiian fruit plate. That sounds good, the Hawaiian fruit plate…..and a ham sandwich on whiteSmile, Wink & Grin. Thanks.

Ray- I hope the med change helps Blackie.

We must all be a dentist hate'n bunch. I’m not too keen on em myself. But…..I’m told by those with falsies, pay whatever it takes to keep your real ones for as long as you can, you won’t regret it. I’ll take that in perspective of course.

Garry- Praying for Shelly’s Mom.Angel

Vince- I agree with Karl. Only way to do it so it won’t come back. Besides, the thread is quite a bit stronger than in your standard sewing kit unless you’ve got upholstery thread.

Even though we think of our pets as children and like to point out the human similarities in their actions and behaviors, pets are animals. Surprise What!? Yah I know, said the same thing myself just last month. And dogs and cats, especially cats, are designed as meat eaters and they need the natural proteins that meat gives them. Human beings can become Vegetarians and Vegans with some “training” of our bodies, but yet still many have to take supplements to offset the lack of ….well meat in the diet. Cats seem to be more sensitive to this than dogs and I do believe that a grain diet for a cat, or dog, as a general rule is bad. They need meat. Real meat. Cooked of course, med rare in a light butter sauce, very light, with a side of green beans and carrots. Potato….is optional.Geeked

Power went off night before last juuuust before I got up……, 2:30. A.M.. I should say woke up. I didn’t get up until 3:30. Anyway, had to start the cornputer up. I tell you what, I’m gonna start turning this thing off. It is the most difficult thing to start after power outage. It wants to restore where it was so rudely interrupted and can’t seem to find something I guess cause it just sits there. Then you have to interrupt the power again to shut the stupid thing down and start up and then jump in there quick and tell it to scratch that convenient little helpful process thing that doesn’t work, and just start up as if nothing was running. Definitely have to turn it off. Especially Sunday night for the all town power outage Monday morning.

Of course I could just buy one of those battery backups…Hmm..naaaah. Rather complain.Laugh

Welp, todays my “full day of w**k” again. So soon? Yup, so between shifts I must rest for tomorrow. The "get the Valentines Day card" day. I know, I know. I know what you’re thinking. Man is he a good husband to bravely go where no man should have to venture…….the card isle.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Guess I need to do what I can manage on fixing the fence out back until the hired help can make it out (hopefully tomorrow) because I cannot count on those dang goats behaving themselves and not find their way back into the front yard to finish off my orchard. Monsters! Also want to get the "Goats For Sale" signs up asap. That will solve the problem long term.Mischief

Would rather be finishing up removing the (N) shelf and running trains. Oh well.

I can't check for the exact details right now, but the entrance fee is about $5 and it goes from 9 a.m. to about 2 p.m. at the DL&W Station Hotel in Scranton PA. It is Sunday of that first weekend. Last time I was there in October, there were quite a few N scale items, and a lot for the Lionel and American Flyer collectors to look for. Prices are pretty decent, and the dealers would be willing to work with you.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have the Eggs Benedict just to be different this morning, and I also need a cup (or two) of dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug, please and thank you.

Barry has the Finger Lakes weather report down so I don't need to repeat it here...  Yep, dull describes it very well.

I am sitting here waiting for a lady to come over and pick up the remaining Art and Poetry items to take back to the Middle/High School.  She is now 55 minutes late...  of course i have to sit here waiting because if i go anywhere else in the house (like down to the train rooms) I won't hear the doorbell when (and if) she arrives.  I would really like to get the rest of the stuff out of my house!

I got up a bit early this morning and was able to restart the wood stove from the coals left from last night.  Yesterday I bought a pair of EntreeAir fans that go up in the corner of a doorway.  They can move 100 cubic feet of air a minute and the one I put in the doorway between the kitchen and the living room where the wood stove is is doing a great job of keeping the rest of the house a bit warmer.  The other one is down cellar in the doorway between the two rooms housing the layout.  The gas heater is in the "new" room and does a great job, but the old room stays about 10° colder.  Last night it was more comfortable.  My son got a couple for his house and he likes them.

I gave Blackie half a pill this morning and a bit of his new food.  So far he is keeping it down and seems to be doing OK.

Rob...  You're kidding. Laugh  Be careful w*rking on the fence.  Poor little goats, just doing what goats do...

Have a great day out there!

 Morning All,

24 with an expected high of 47 under mostly sunny skies.

I got turnouts, and chain link fence kit from Walthers and Switch Tender motors ordered last night, hope they arrive by a week from this Friday.

Rob Can I borrow your goats to take care of all the weeds in my back yard. I said BORROW not buy.

I have a closing shift today, so I may try and install an old decoder in an Atlas switcher my son-in law found at a garage sale. Runs fine on DC, so we shall see.

    Prayers to all in need.

Coffee refill, please.

***Paul, you can borrow the goats, if you promise not to return them.Laugh

***Ken, do you know what they do to meat goats while they are still alive before butchering them so the meat is tender and not gamey? It's quite cruel actually. Besides, these are very small Pygmy Goats and more for show, lawncare, pets, etc...

***Ray, I'm just burned out with them, don't need them, and would rather not lose orchard trees when they do get out. Only takes a goat about 1 minute to kill a tree. Looking forward to having them all gone.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Geeze, here I try and give you a "feeling good all over" Ken and you go and spoil it all by telling me it Tom Selleck. Yes, I knew it was Tom but I was just pulling your chain a little bit. Nice car though although I have no idea how one could afford to actually drive one with the price of insurance/fuel etc.

On the other hand, there are two of them here that I see roaring around in the summer. Both young guys.... go figure Confused

Looks like the major storm front has blown itself out but there's still some small pockets of rain coming through here. We still have a 50% chance of rain today. The weather guesser is saying the high will be 62°. Looks like I should be getting a couple of DZ125 decoders today. I'm hoping a box of stuff from Canada will come in soon too.

I haven't had anything to eat today. My guts are still twisted in knots from spending most of last night and this morning on the throne. Darn meds and their side effects! Seems like the side effects are worse than the conditions the meds are supposed to help correct.

I get a "lifeline" discount on the phone bill {land line} to ensure I have an emergency connection for medical help if needed at a discount of about $20 off the bill so my bill is about $30 regularly.

Dec: I get my bill on the 10, 11, 12th of each month. I get Dec bill and it jumped by the $20,! I called to find out WHY? they said it is because my LIFELINE {LL} fell off as I didn't return the certification form. I said I never got it... they said they'd send another one. Now, TRUST ME< i would have returned something like that I read ALL my mail, and I have a locked box at the end  of the road to the park. so My mail is secure. They send new form and i filled it out and returned. I have to pa=y full bill to not get disconnected!

Jan bill, NOPE, still $20 higher! I called, they said, "well we got your form but it says under notes you forgot to send proof of eligibility! " I did no such thing. {note they said they sent it out for resubmission} I get it and they send a new form at my request just to be safe. I send it in AGIAN with a copy of my medicaid card stapled to it!!! I should have sent it Return Receipt Requested.Mea Culpa!!!  I have to pay full bill to not get disconnected! I send back the 17 of January with the copy Again.  I called on  the weekend, and THey TOLD me that when I Called [ the PHONE COMPANY} on Saturday that the "isssuing party  for the LL discount" is CLOSED WEEKENDS" ,and I would have to wiat ttil MONDAY for them to OPEN!!!!!!!! SO I called back MONDYA TO talk to them! They claim they never got hte copy of PROOF I have Medicaid. SO they send another form!!

FEb Bill: NOPE! Still $20 higher...NOW they CLAIM they Got it FEB 9th...and the bill was printed Feb 7th. So I won't get ANY credit until next bill {in MARCH} with credits as of the 9th of Feb! I talked till I was blue in the face to a "supervisor" who said it is the gov't {FCC} who gives the credit and FCC required the rectification as MOST of the cases of LIFELINE renewals were "found to be ineligible anymore" BUT That is "not the case in your instance"!!! I told her I would contact the Attorney General and FCC then as THE PHONE COMPANY is the one responsible for issuing the bill and the credits...so it iS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY! SHE says NO, it isn't  "the credit comes form the Govt"...but THEY { the phone company} ADMINISTERS THE BILL! The FCC doesn't dela directly with me. THE PHONE COMPANY DOES. I point that out several times. then I asked for another supervisor and was told "there is none available, I am the only one here". I hung up....NOW MIND YOU, I DDN't REALIZE UNTIL AFTER I HUNG UP...theyu CLAIM they didn't get it UNTIL FEB 9TH... LOOK AT A CALENDAR PEOPLE>>>THE 9TH WAS A SATURDAY!!!! And I know their OFFICES ARE CLOSED ON SATURDAYS !!!!

They have successfully STALLED and OVER BILLED me by the $60 and claim they can get away with it!

GRRRRRR

DOUBLE GRFRRRRR

TRIPLE GRRRR

SO I STILL have to pay this full bill and "wont; get any Credit except after the 9th!" on my next bill!!!!!!!

SoapBox  over now.

Sad

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Darn meds and their side effects! Seems like the side effects are worse than the conditions the meds are supposed to help correct.

Ya think Jeffrey... Ick! I unfortunately know exactly what you are referring to.

Just taking a wee break from swinging a paintbrush and rolling a roller, not to mention sticking masking tape on and removing it in yesterday's room. Oh right, lets not forget the wall washing Indifferent. Just have to finish up with the put the towel bars etc. back on the wall and the throne room will be finished.

Should be able to put the first coat on half the kitchen this afternoon... Yup, MOH wants 2 shades of the same color. Bet if she were doing the w**rk she would be more than happy with one color Wink.

Later.... with an update.
