I am not going to mince words here.
You will not be kicking if you don't get that looked after right away.

Sorry so many here have lost there jobs. My self, kind of wish I would, this job is going to kill me.
Jeffery, sorry about your Mon's health problems.
Looked at the foot when I got home and the top of it has red streaks on it heading toward my leg. This is more than likely not good! Leg is not hurting now but after a few 's most things don't! Will see what it looks like when I get up Saturday, if it does not feel right, off to the ER again!

Evening All,
Sitting here watching the tube. I received the PSX-AR today and hooked it up. I ran 2 different locos (diesel non-sound and steam sound) forward and reverse entering and leaving the reverse loop including run thrus and entering the 2 spurs about a dozen times without issue.
After that grandson Quintin came over for several hours and we had a good time.
Tomorrow I am going to Prototype Rails with a friend so I will be gone all day. I thought I was going to be given mandatory OT tomorrow but I got out of it somehow.
Jeff- Sorry to hear about your Mother. Your family continues to be in my prayers.
Karl- Sorry to hear about your job loss. Hopefully you can get another quickly.
Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Hiya y'all!
Flo. its Friday, so break out the and !!!
Its been a confusing day. I applied for a position today Bombardier. Basically its a customer satisfaction type job with Bombardier and MARC. Part of the job involves riding MARC trains and working with road and shop crews to make sure they are satisfied with the products. Awesome prospect, would be a cool job, even though I may have to work & drive to downtown Baltimore, the fact that it involves rail vehicles.....sooo awesome.
Then I went to the County Job Agency. There they post multiple ads for jobs, both in and out of county. Looks like nothing has changed since last week.
Then an afternoon appointment at a dealership Its and hour from home, and they only way to get there from here involves a crowded, 2 lane road that comprises 90% of the ride. Nice place, but small, people are nice enough, but the place is cramped. But they want ME! decisions decisions!
Do I wait on a dream job, or go back to legalized slavery.
Nother Flo, I need to think!

***Johnboy, coyotes have been behaving themselves. No birds left that they can reach and for whatever reason, they have yet to take a pygmy goat. Most of the critters are doing very well these days.
Enjoyed the scratch video. I would not want to try anything like that at this point.
The more I think on it, HO is still probably the way to go. Am almost committed now to swaping out those two rooms, regardless of scale. Will have to hire a couple strong young men to handle the funiture, as I am well past doing that myself now.
The one big plus is that whatever the scale, I can make a large u-shaped layout and not have to worry about squeezing two different scales into the same room. Only real work will be making the framework (easy) and adding some track lighting (can access wiring from attic). That room has no windows, so lighting it will be essential.
Lastly, a layout that size, I could run a (HO) Mallet with coal drag and it wouldn't be kissing it's own caboose!
Cheers! -Rob
Hi Gang,
Chloe, I will have a HC and a cinnamon bagel with lots of whipped butter.
Not whistling too much today as we are up to our ying yangs in snow.
Blizzard hit here yesterday at noon and blew all night. Snow has stopped now but still a strong wind blowing and reducing visibility, lots of roads closed. I have been outside moving some of the white stuff so that we are able to get around if we want to, but I don't think I'll be going anywhere soon. I've been down with some flu since boxing day and only now starting to feel like a Human again. Don't get it as it isn't much fun, believe me.
Ulrich, I love the tour, you always do them so well. We look forward to them.
Rob, Glad to hear from you and hope you are well.. I could see you getting rid of the N scale but for all the other reasons I would be staying with the HOnorable Scale, space availability, materials you have etc. etc. Looking forward to hear more about your decisions. How are the critters doing this winter ? Who is keeping the Coyotes at bay ?
Bama, That sure seems like an awful early start for a little Gal going to school, or a terribly long bus ride
Lee, are congratulations in order yet for you and your chosen one, when is the big event going to take place.? Maybe we should get the Chapel Car reserved for that date.
Jeff, Kind thoughts and prayers for your Mom.
I'm feeling a little weary right now, think I'll go and have one of Galaxy's naps.

I got to be that every Tom Dick and Harry that I know thought it was a great deal until I decided to start charging a very minimal fee. All of a sudden every one stopped asking. Which was exactly what I intended to happen... The funny part was that those same people found out that what I was charging was a far cry to what they had to pay at the "Regular Computer Places. Glad your computer wasn't wrecked by the brownout. I have my big desktop/server in the basement on a large UPS for that reason. The other 3 I use for various things are laptops so they already have the buffering provided by the battery. I even have a spare UPS left over from when we ran our company that I put on to the TV/Audio Visual System. Might as well make use of it. Have to go see the eyeball Dr. here in half an hour to see why my one eye feels like it's going to explode so best I get going. CU later one and all. Dennis

Ulrich: Thanks for the tour and the beautiful pictures. The pictures of the buildings and the churches reminded me of the pictures my friend showed me after his vacation in Poland and the ones my daughter came back with after her vacation in Germany. I enjoyed your pictures.
Galaxy: The manner of your wife's firing sure stinks. I agree with the person who called it draconian. I hope she has a case with the human rights people or the labor board. That's just not right. I worked for many years at a unionized company. The union and the company got along well with each other. We were salaried employees but overtime was calculated on an hourly basis. Anything under 15 minutes wasn't charged as OT and it accumulated in 15 minute increments. There was no time clock to punch (thank goodness!) and employees were trusted to report their OT fairly. I don't recall any abuses of the system. Of course, all OT had to be work related. You couldn't charge OT if you arrived at work early or chose to stay late for personal reasons.
Weather front: Well, after almost a week of temperatures near and above freezing, we are under a blizzard warning for today and tomorrow. We had freezing rain overnight. Not much snow is falling yet but the wind is very strong. The highway conditions map shows all highways as partly or completely ice covered with blowing snow and limited visibility. Sure glad I'm not going anywhere today. I guess the snowblower will get a workout on the weekend.

Well the computer is up to snuff again. I didn't have to replace anything, just reset some things. Shut down, removed CMOS battery, put board in test mode, reset CMOS to defaults, reset the circuit breakers for the USB ports (they stayed open for some odd reason), replaced the CMOS battery, reconfigured CMOS, reset board to operations mode and restarted the system. Everything is working. It's 10 for 10. I guess all that technical garbage I studied from my college courses finally came in handy. Now I can put the spare main board away. And I don't fix computers for others. The only ones I fix are mine and those that belong to family members.
Good morning everybody!
I'll have a hot chocolate, please.
Rob .... Good to see you. I was wondering what you were up to. The Only O Gauge I have is Lionel for Christmas tree duty. Sounds like you have big plans for changing your model railroading. Hope it goes well. Keep us informed as you progress.
Here is the passenger car I added details to this week.
Cheers everybody.
Rob - I went down that route end of last year and found modeling in O scale to be a lot more satisfying than in NScale. Suddenly, all those tiny detail are in a size I can handle with my bad eyes and shaky hands. The downside of modelling in that big scale is that you need to add all those tiny details, which are usually omitted even in HO scale - bang, and you are back into handling minute parts.
There seems to be not much choice in O scale locos and rolling stock. Atlas offers a few bits, and MTH has recently extended their line quite a bit. Both are quite pricey, though. If you want to model standard gauge, the space requirement is enormous, about 4 times of HO scale. Forget any radius below 5 ft.!
If you go for narrow gauge modelling, the space you need is not much larger than in HO scale. Those Bachmann On30 locos are also a lot less expensive, and there are lot of kits available to enhance them (although this seems not to be necessary. Backwoods Miniature in the UK has a number of dress-up kits - take a look here.
Scratch building structures is easy and inexpensive in O scale. 2mm plywood makes an excellent base material, windows and doors can also be scratchbuilt. Not to forget the wooden coffee stirrers you get at the restaurant with the big yellow M in their logo ...
Just found a little video on scratchbuilding structures:

Good Morning and I hope everyone is doing well these days.
Tossing around a radical change in direction. Have been seriously contemplating not only changing scales (giving up N scale all together), but changing the location of my train room. Although technically the current train room is a part of the house, the only access is from outside. There is no way into it from the main house. Soooo, IF I stuck the large spare bedroom down there and the train room upstairs, it would be much more convenient for me to both work on and enjoy, regardless of time of year or weather. The downside is there would be no way to move what I have already built down there (in both N & HO scale) and would need to be completely torn up. I could then sell off a LOT of stuff to help fund such a change.
Question: Of those here who have O Scale, which brands did you choose and why?
Have a great day all.
Cheers! Rob

Good morning All!
Sweet looking comrade.
Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes other then I set the accelerate and decelerate momentum on my Tech 6 yesterday afternoon and now one needs skill to stop or couple cars..Yes I will be adding end of track safe guards when I build Slate Creek. Those settings really help tame my BB SW1500s.I could not believe the difference in their performance. The SCR 110 operation is incredible with those sittings.
The acceleration momentum is set at 12 while the deceleration momentum is set at 10.The lower the number the longer it takes to stop or start.
MRC's Tech 6 is a keeper.
I shall have a cup and look over ta forum.
Have a good'un.

Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Of course they say 1 to 3 inches of snow tomorrow night and a high of 27 Sunday.
Jeff- I’m sorry to hear your Mothers not doing well. My prayers continue.
Karl- Sorry to hear about your job loss as well.
I thought they were bragging how jobs have risen. Or was that where they were telling about new jobs but left out the jobs lost?
Got called away yesterday so no trainroom stuff, maybe today. I did get the light up after how many years, but I did that either Tuesday or Wednesday. Can’t remember. Brenda was happy though and that’s all that counts. What it means to me is more stuff needs thrown away.
We’ll see what goes on today. I do know the dogs I drop by to let out have grown by one. Again. The girl called yesterday to inform me I may have a tough time getting a malnourished, yet still 150lb St Bernard (she is with the Illinois Saint Bernard rescue . Like, President of this chapter or something) in his temporary til he gets accustomed and trusted cage. Apparently he prefers freedom. Getting kinda old doing this all the time. She originally asked if I could do it for her until she got her a place in another town where she got a new different job. She still hasn’t made a move in that direction and has even commented she’d hate to leave Williamsville. I guess as long as you can get someone to take care of your dogs and don’t mind the drive….why not? (sarcasm). Once again, I’ve got myself involved in something "temporary" to be nice and they’ve taken that mile.
Like I said, we’ll see what happens today. Hopefully I can do some more straightening in the trainroom. I found the floor the other day, Wednesday I guess so I know there is more under there. I shall try to continue the hunt until I have to w**k tonight. Then, like Barry, I will be off until Tuesday. Sorta.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!
