Welp,

~The pineapple {I prefer "annanas"} has been peeled, cored and sliced into ringlets {I have a device that helps me to do that}

~The pineapple has been secured with whole cloves to the ham

~The ham is roasting slowly

~The potatoes have been cut and boiled

~ The butternut squash has been peeled, cored, and cut and steamed. Awaiting brown suger...

~the green beans are ready to go...

~ The cranbery sauce is done...

WHEW!!!

In about a 1/2 hour I will glaze the ham with brown sugar/pineapple juice glaze and let it simmer for aobut 15 minutes...

I was smart..I bought a spiral sliced ham so it will be easy to get the slices off for transport to the Inlaws..oNe quick slice with the electric knife and slices will fall off!! ...I will only make a plate for my father!

Get this,,I am doing ALL THE WORK..and MOH goes to "take another nap"!!!  MUST BE MOH got tired WATCHING me WORK!!!!

Whew!!!

Then there is the dishes ...the "I cook...YOU clean"... well lets just say I gave up on that years ago!

Step u p to my buffet here and eat!

Happy to know so many of you are with family and friends. My wish came true that there would be a light amount of snow to make it a White Christmas.  Be forwarned- thursday will bring storms S**N in large amounts.  Be careful.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

We have a house full of grown-up kids, their spouses, and grand children.  Ho, Ho, Ho.

Speaking of HO, here's a gift I received. The Union Pacific train at Union Station. It's a used train, but in very good condition.

Also, you can look at the church sign on my layout to get the spirit.

Merry Christmas!

Music They said there'll be snow at christmas

They said there'll be peace on earth

But instead it just kept on raining

A veil of tears for the virgin's birth

 I remember one christmas morning

A winters light and a distant choir

And the peal of a bell and that christmas tree smell

And their eyes full of tinsel and fire Music

MusicThey sold me a dream of christmas

They sold me a silent night

And they told me a fairy story

'till I believed in the israelite

And I believed in Father Christmas

And I looked at the sky with excited eyes

'till I woke with a yawn

in the first light of dawn

And I saw him and through his disguiseMusic

MusicI wish you a hopeful christmas

I wish you a brave new year

 All anguish pain and sadness

Leave your heart and let your road be clear

They said there'll be snow at christmas

They said there'll be peace on earth

 Hallelujah! Noel!

 be it heaven or hell

The christmas we get we deserve  Music

{a stroll down amnesia lane}

Welp, we have some snow..about an inch or two. NOW, that is.

Posta get 12" and up.

I hope we don't lose power, or if we do, not for long, as that would mean going to the INLAWS..{They have a whole house generator and Nat gas for it and heat}!

We'd like to have a whole house generator..but we don't have the $5K it will take...for the generator, and the installation, especially with my three medical machines. {O2, CPAP, and Nebulizer}. We'd need about a 17KW+  generator it looks like- and tha may not actaully allow us to run things as normal, may have to cut out some usage. working on it though, especially since we are often without power for 5 days on end.

Santa only brought a few items of clothing this year, and some are still on their way...We knew they'd be late when I ordered them. No train items for the "bad" boy! Nor N scale stuff for MOH either {isnt' it nice to have an OH who likes trains too? that way any vacation surrounding trains {{our fav is old steamers}} is not an argument at all....!!!}

I will be soon cutting potatoes and chopping butternut squash for dinner....then the ham goes in aobut 10 am to be done around noon. Teh off to the INLAWS then to My Fathers. Busy day today.... I will cook here adn take stuff to teh INLAWS, and a plate to my fathers.

Well, I'd best to my KP duties....

HAVE a Merry Christmas {Hopefully the one you deserve}...!!!

Geeked

EDIT- I have top...so have some ham. smashed taters, butternut squash with brown sugar, cranberry sauce {I wonder why?}, and Green beans ON ME!!!

AngelMy heart and prayers go out to the families of those Fire Fighters. It's bad enough it had to happen at all, but now? Why now of all times. And Fire Fighters? I just don't understand any of it.

Apparently, Brenda has the ability, much like the dog, to awaken in the morning and potty without fully awakening and is able to return to bed and a sound sleep. Not sure she was even aware I was gone. Success!

Good morning. It's 51° with 100% humidity. There's a severe thunderstorm watch in affect until 9 am. The high will be 72° or so the weather guessers say.

It's windy and very wet here right now. Things have calmed a bit but the radar shows more ugly stuff piling up in east Texas and coming this way. I don't look for it to be anything like pleasant this morning. I've already been up most of the night. The power went out no less than five times but it was right back on each time.

The only thing I'll be doing today is going over to my sisters place for their Christmas celebration. Now I'll bug out of here before the next line of thunderstorms rolls through.

Merry Christmas to all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

Hope today finds everyone in good health and good spirits.

Trucks warming up for the across town jaunt to get Brenda’s present.

Things went well yesterday all things considered. Have yet to understand why a small child will set and say they don’t like something on their plate for approximately 437 times the amount of time it would have taken them to just eat it. All the while the women folk are telling them they will not get to open a present per however much is left of any pick one item on the plate. Now mind you this never happened at my house when I was young, but it did happen with my children with Brenda for which I was amazed that it would even happen. Never heard such a thing. It’s like a standoff between parent and child. Oddly enough, in the end the child wins. Never happen when I was a child. For all you older folks out there here’s a condensed version….highly condensed. Good for a reminiscent chuckle:

“Eat your carrots.”

“I don’t like carrots”

“Now you just ate two earlier and said you liked them. In fact you said you liked them better than the ones you usually eat”

“I liked those, but these are different.”…..

”’Eat your corn. You like corn”

“Not this corn. I like mine with salt and pepper. This has butter”

“well put some salt and pepper on it an eat it.”

“I don’t like butter”

“You do too. You put it on toast and waffles all the time.”

“That’s different. It’s put on after the toast is cooked. I don’t like it this way.”…..

“Well eat your meat then. You like beef”

“No I don’t.”

“Yes you do you just said so when we came in and you asked what it was. You said you liked beef.”

(keep in mind this is prime rib)

“I only like steak”…

That’s when I left an let the women finish. My only comment was……”the dog likes prime rib”

Kids,  gotta love ‘em………especially after they’ve gone.Wink Laugh

I hope everyone enjoys the time they have with these little boogers cause someday… you’ll chuckle at them going through the same thing. THAT is the best part.!!!!

IndifferentOh I don’t believe this! She’s up!!!!! Surprise Never does she get up before 7! Gotta get going!

Merry Christmas all!!!

Gidday All, safely returned from a pleasant day at the SILs. 4 generations, including Canadian resident niece, good food, a few drinks and no bloodshed. Great to see the little ones get excited about their presents, very well behaved they were too.

Hope all your days go as well.

Thoughts and Best Wishes to All that need them.

Cheers the Bear.

Yesterday´s concert was a blast - Petra and I enjoyed very much. Came home late, indulged in a few memories of Christmases past, shed a few tears and went to bed.

All the best wishes from us to you!

Ray: When I saw that on the news this morning I instantly thought of you. I knew it would be in your region, although not immediately close, if you know what I mean. Very tragic that Volunteers go to fight a fire and face gunfire.

On more positive notes: MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL! I hope santa is good to you. (We've already had our presents!)

Evenin' folks!

Chloe just a cup of decaf to tide me over for a bit.

Got a phone call from my son early this afternoon.  Seems both he and his wife have been spending their time in the throne room all day...  The granddaughters did not get to sing at the Children's Christmas Eve service this afternoon and the open house for this evening was cancelled as well.  DIL was starting to feel better when my son called but he was still not good.  Hopefully they will be feeling better tomorrow as there are festivities going on all day.  I am supposed to go over for breakfast and to exchange presents in the morning, then we all go to my sisters house in Canandaigua at lunch time, and then back to son's house for his wife's family get together and exchange of presents at suppertime.  Time will tell and I will give them a call before heading over tomorrow morning.

Webster, NY, about 45 miles NW of here, made the national news this morning as a convicted murderer gunned down several firefighters after setting a car and some homes on fire there.  Two Firemen are dead and two have serious injuries and are at Strong Hospital in Rochester in ICU.  An off duty policeman received some minor injuries when the gunman started firing at his car.  Glass from the windshield flew and cut him I guess.  The police say the fires were set as a trap for the firefighters by the gunman...

Jeffrey, I saw the warning on the severe weather heading your way.  Doesn't look like a fun way to spend Christmas to me.  Just hope you manage to dodge all the high winds and tornadoes they are predicting!  Stay Safe!

Later!

 Evening Dinners

Thank You Flo for the Beer and here is a little something for you. Gift

For the few of you that tried to guess what this is.

It is the fire box for this

Did not do a lot today, paid some bills and bought food for the Christmas Dinner I really don't want.

Why do I don't want a Christmas Dinner you ask? Two fold answer.

1 With Sue being disabled it is hard on her. She is not a person that suffers in silence either! I fact she is very vocal about her discomfort!

2 With me watch my diabetics, last thing I need is a big Lunch / Dinner with mainly things I should not have! My self, I be happy with a Pizza and a Gift

See you all later, and Merry Christmas!

I may not be able to get online later so I'm making this post now.

Currently it's 65 here and partly cloudy here. However the weather guessers are saying the weather is going to get rather severe later. It's peaceful enough right now. The primary threats are damaging straight line winds and tornadoes. Large hail is also possible, especially with the first storms. This severe weather is expected to end tomorrow afternoon. Chance for rain tonight is 80%, tomorrow 90%. No word on expected wind speeds. Santa better have his wet weather gear!

If you don't hear from me later you know what happened.

Gidday All, currently 0942 hours,  69 F, 94% humidity, with showers, the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Evan  are bringing down warm moist air from the tropics.

Am about to pack the car, going to have a cold buffet Christmas lunch at the SILs' farm about an hours drive away.

Ho, ho, ho.......  (not to mention "n" and "O" and "S" as well)!

Zoe, I'll have the #2 special this morning.  Over easy eggs, country sausage, home fries, and a double order of that wonderful sour dough toast you have.  Oh!  A pot or two of dark roast coffee to wash it all down with.

Got the squash cooking on the stove, lit a fire in the wood stove, found a tarp to put down in the back of the Prius for hauling the Yule Log(s) to my sister's house for the Fire in her fireplace tomorrow, and just settling down for a long Winter's nap!

Barry, love the photo of spring in the tree...  I think the look is because the little people there aren't really very tasty...  I think I'm going to send that photo on to my sister in Canandaigua as she will appreciate it.  her new kitten "Claude" has been busily destroying much of her house and the decorations.

Need to check the wood stove.  Later!

Good morning everybody,

Been a nice morning here with temperatures around 30, but the sun is shining. Unfortunately, more rain than snow in the forecast. We got up and went for breakfast this morning at our favorite diner. Not too many days left before they close up for good at the end of the year. We are really going to miss that place. We also did a little grocery shopping and now I have most of the laundry done. Just one more load to go into the washer.

We would both like to take a minute and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. May all the joys and blessings be on you and yours.
