Good Morning!!!
Coffee and an order of BBQ wings please. Thanks
Bathroom is painted. That’s whittled the list down to hall and Living room yet that need painted. An addition to the list I actually saw coming.
I see Lee’s getting some stuff hauled by the L&A.
Ulrich- You’re right I guess. Looked at the picture again today and the car looked kinda greyish, not green. I like it again. As for Ziva, NCIS is like the number one scripted show on television here in the States and has been for almost 10 years. I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it before. Well, come to think of it, maybe not. It’s very addictive and actually quite a good show. Like all crime dramas, a bit far fetched at times, but over all the actors do an excellent job and the fans have an almost bonding type relationship with their characters and not just Ziva (who is actually a Chilean actress playing an Israeli and she actually looks Chilean. Not many seem to mind ) Each of the main characters have their own groupies and it’s pretty much equal. Of course if you don’t like that kind of show, you wouldn’t care for it much.
Ray- That went right past me. I was focused on your “green” items and the grass escaped my notice.
Ken- No thanks on the bikini pictures. Appreciate the offer, but I already got some blown up to poster size and hung one in each room. Brenda’s not real thrilled, but she seems to be getting used to them.
Welp, don’t know what today will bring othern I w**k at 5. Some things remain the same. Just like the song. Get it?... Some thing remain the same, like the Song?...... The Song Remains the….oh forget it.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Good Morning all,
V8Vega, 2 years ago our city council informed us the current trash pickup contract was going to expire and they requested permission by vote to solicit bids and negotiate a new contract for trash pick-up. We voted yes. What we got was a monthly bill to remove trash. We didn’t vote on paying extra for a service that had always been included in our regular City income and property taxes. When we challenged city council on the new bill they said we agreed to allow the city to negotiate a new contract…..

GOOD MORNING!!!
Today is the day after 12/12/12..so it's 12/13!!!
Soe of you may be thinking of getting a DIAMOND for your sweetheart, SO:
"A Diamond is forever"
Meaning:
Advertising slogan for De Beers' diamonds. {of course it is}
Origin: {can't see this one coming can you}:
De Beers have used this as a slogan since 1948, and continue to do so (as of 2012). Here's the announcement of the campaign, from the New York Times' Advertising News and Notes column, August 1948:
"De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd., owner of diamond workings in South Africa, plans a fall campaign in leading national magazines which will stress the engagement-ring tradition. Four-color ads will reproduce paintings by well-known artists and carry the slogan 'a diamond is forever.' N.W. Ayer & Sons, Inc., Philadelphia, is the agency."
The slogan began appearing in the US press soon after that date, as here, from the Ohio newspaper The Chronicle Telegram, June 1950.
The notion wasn't a new one. In Anita Loos' book Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, 1925, is the line:
"So I really think that American gentlemen are the best after all, because kissing your hand may make you feel very very good but a diamond and safire bracelet lasts forever." A we all know, a companion is "Diamond in the rough": Meaning: Someone who is basically good hearted but lacking social graces and respect for the law. Origin: The phrase is clearly a metaphor for the original unpolished state of diamond gemstones, especially those that have the potential to become high quality jewels. It is more commonly expressed in the form 'rough diamond'. The first recorded use in print is in John Fletcher's A Wife for a Month, 1624: "She is very honest, and will be as hard to cut as a rough diamond." The term is often now used to describe people on the edge of the criminal fraternity who, while they may not commit serious crimes themselves, probably know people who do. The English comic actor, the late Sid James, typified the type both on and off stage and was typecast in such roles; for example, he played Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond in the Ealing comedy Carry On Up The Khyber. That was quite appropriate for this phrase as it turns out - Sid James worked in a diamond mine in South Africa before becoming an actor. The prayer candle will be lit at 8 AM! Have a Diamond of a day! {couldn't see that coming either }

Near a cornfield in Indiana...
Evenin' folks!
Janie, another refill on the decaf please.
Bama, I saw some venison type thingies last Sunday coming home from the RIT show... Doubt you would have wanted it though, I think the flesh was pretty badly bruised in places.
I got the Christmas cards done today. About half of them got in the mail also. Did my laundry and hung it up down cellar to dry. Will throw it all in the dryer tomorrow morning to finish it off.
Tomorrow I will be helping to install some new wireless microphone units at church. 5 units I think. Should be a smooth replacement of the old units. The ones being replaced are on the old now restricted frequencies and the church has been told they need to get them changed out soon by the Fire dept. Not a problem for us as the old ones also got nailed in the lightning strike last Spring and have been doing some weird things...
Best call it a night, so my prayers for all in need. Special thoughts for Jeffrey for a good stress test tomorrow!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Evening all. Just bringing in some chocolate chip muffins I baked after dinner tonight (cubed steak, mixed veggies and potatoes in bacon/cheese casserole). My hunting trip this afternoon was both successful and unsuccessful. Successful in that I got out there and got to enjoy some of nature and quiet. Unsuccessful in that I did NOT see any member of the venison family, but a squirrel or two were almost removed from this earth as they kept making unbelievable amounts of noise.
Haven't gotten to do any real MRR stuff in a while, and might not get to for a little while longer with the way things are going. I simply have to remedy that, and soon too!
Ken and Todd: I too, have some Ziva in a bikini pics that Tony sold me, but y'all can't have 'em!
It's 36 here now. There's a freeze warning in effect for tonight. It's supposed to get down to 25. I hope I get some descent sleep tonight. I have to be at the hospital early for that stress test.Time to call it a night. See y'all when I see ya.

Hey Todd, you want to buy some pictures of Ziva in a Bikini? Tony sold me some!
See you all later!

I hate Rust
Well
Jeffrey-I was just wondering..please do let me know how they turn out as they weren't as big as I thought! Hope they work well! meatn fo the North, I hope so!
I cancelled the dentist as I could hardly move after laying down for awhile. SO I changed it to Friday for pull the tooth day..besides that gives the antibiotic 2 more days to work!
I over did it todya with shiopping aT Wally world and the grocery and Aldis, all three.
MOHs back is ready to go out too,so we are both crippled..so I carried the heavy 24 pacs of H2O in instead of leaving for MOH to do, which didn't help MY back any either..But we don't need MOh out of work right now either...I am arleady retired..so...
I'd best go start dinner..."Heat N Eat" overnoodles to make MOH happy {loves noodles}.
later.
Afternoon y'all. Just stopping in after lunch with Amy and the kids. As today is my off day from w**k, I'm hanging out at the house, although I'm about to put on my camo and go plod into the woods for a few hours with my trusted "friend" my rifle and await a member of the venison community to come by.
Welp, guess I'm going to get going, all I'm doing right now is burning afternoon.
Later taters!
Afternoon folks!
A bit late getting here Zoe... I'll have a Tuna Melt and french fries for lunch today, and a cup of decaf to go with it all.
Spent some of the morning doing Christmas Cards. Called one of the local Schools to ask why they hadn't gotten back to me about some MLK business... Found out that Roadrunner put their emails into my Junk Mail folder! They seem to do this for no known reason... I moved them to the inbox, so we shall see if they will now deliver mail from the schools. I also bookmarked a direct route to get to the account. takes about 10 minutes every time I try to find something on their dumb website... All they seem to want to do is sell you more junk!
The big yellow ball is out and shining today here in the Finger Lakes. Might make some electricity today... Haven't gotten much yield yet this month with the dark and gloomy skies here.
Todd, I was referring to the local green grass outside, but it could be construed to other things as well...
Guess I will go light the wood stove...
Later!

Packer Morning guys Well I'm kind of ***, but it's my own fault. Got involved with a girl I shouldn't have, and now she owes me $220 and I haven't heard a peep from her. I loaned it to her because she said her car needed repairs at a shop, I offered to help for less, but she declined. Turns out she was buying drugs... I told her no more money for drugs, but she said her phone got stolen. So I helped her again. But now I've done everything I could to get her phone back, but she hasn't gotten a hold of me. So yeah, no more loaning to "friends" or even those who were more than friends. In all fairness she hasn't lied to me until she got on the drugs, so maybe I can try to help her get off of them. She said she'll pay me back by christmas, but I'm loosing hope on that on. maybe I should stay away from women, I've gotten nothing but trouble from them in the past few years. Ken, Check PMs BN24, What do you normally play on the Xbox? I usually play BF3. If you wanna play with or against each other sometime, what's your XBL tag?

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

No chance for a nap! Whenever I started to drift off into Snoozeland, they phone rang! Now I just give up on it.
The first call was kind of nice - my Dad inquiring whether I´d like to go on a train ride. He saw an ad in one of his train mags and thought it would make a nice Christmas gift for me.
As it seems, on February 2nd, I will board a train pulled by

Nice Christmas gift!
Good morning. It's 32° with 95% humidity. It'll be mostly sunny today with a high of 55°.Well it's just right at the freezing mark this morning. No matter, it's a nice 71° in here. There's a light fog out here by the lake. If it's yours please come and claim it and take it home. My only plans for today are to do some work on the layout and maybe watch a movie or two.No photo today but there is a short track-side video. Good morning everyone and happy 12/12/12....I'd like a nice hot cup of ...it's down into the 30s here in Cincinnati
The good news however, is that today is my youngest granddaughters first birthday!
She lives near Chicago, so I won't get to spend it with her unfortunately
Hope everyone has a great day!
Lunchtime!
I am just about to go for a nap. It took me nearly half an hour to free up my car this morning, just for the short drive to the supermarket. Could have walked there, but I am having respiratory problems in that cold and damp climate we enjoy now. Still lots of snow...
Janie, I´ll go for a bowl of Mexican chili and coffee, please.
You folks have been mentioning Ziva. Would you believe that I did not know who or where she is? Just did a Google search to find out. Navy CIS is on one of the private channels I am not watching, so how should I have known
Todd - that car ain´t green! I mean the color of the body
Battling a headache, so time for a nap!
CUL!
Coffee and a waffle with…no wait. I think I’ll have a stack of buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup with pecans please. Thank you.
The truck I got rid of last year had an aftermarket stereo after the factory one went…well, psycho. And I tell you what it would have been easier to figure out the rocket launching codes for DOD missiles than to set the clock in that thing. Time was right only in the summer. Until I changed the battery in the truck. Then the time was never right. Often thought about disconnecting the battery and reconnecting at noon. This one I have to admit does have a button that says “set” you just have to figure which knob to turn to change the numbers. 50/50 chance. Needless to say I pick wrong.
Ray- I thought you said the car wasn’t green. It looks green. You know what it’s missing? The picture that is. …..You. Got a leisure suit from the ‘70’s? You could recycle that thing then you’d be green as well.
Wait, I think I get the green color of the car now.
More power!!!! Ar ar ar ar arrrr!
Karl- Wow! What a deal!
You know that reminds me. At the village Santa visit what, a week or two ago, the Mayor brought his O scale 3 rail set up/layout he usually does, and of course, it always gets a lot of attention. Nothing fancy just track on plywood table and a couple odd buildings on there. You know. Not uncommon for O scale. But the kids love it and the parents take quite a few pictures of it. Anyway, it seems according to Santa, the a number one hands down most requested item from boys was….(drum roll)…a train set. He even said some girls wanted one too. Of course they asked for other things as well, but I don’t think trains are gonna disappear from basements anytime real soon .
Time to check on Ziva, then get some trim painting done in the hall bath so Brenda can paint. (I’ve gone this route sooooo many times. She says she’s gonna paint, then she asks 40 million times for me to come in and get something she can’t reach. Think I’ll just nip that in the bud). That oughta put me right up to Chinese Buffet time and the trip to Walmart to get what she didn’t get when she was in there Monday and, I must look for a desk for her for Christmas. Yup, she said she wants a desk. Says she has no drawers….. won’t tell you what I said.

Happy 12-12-12 or 12/12/12 or 12,12,12 No matter how you write it, today is still twelve twelve twelve!!!
Do "important 'must remember' things" today! {like get married!}
Today will be like pulling teeth for me!
Ever hear the phrase "Twelve good men"? well:
A jury
When this phrase was coined, in the early 17th century, 'good' implied distinguished rank or valour. These days people aren't required to be valiant or of high rank in order to be part of a jury. They aren't even required to be men, as women have been called for jury in both the UK and USA since around 1920. This was a consequence of the women's suffrage movement. Prior to the 1920s the opponents of the movement were appalled by the fact that, if women could vote, they could also sit on juries. This was considered worse by some than the right to vote itself. In 1915, the Massachusetts Anti-Suffrage Committee argued, "Jury duty for your wife or your daughter is almost unthinkable. Yet it will be part of her legal duty as a voter."
The 'twelve good men and true' have been referred to since at least the 17th century; for example, in Thomas Randolph's Poems: with The muses looking-glasse; and Amyntas, circa 1635:
"I had rather... haue his twelve Godvathers, good men and true, contemne him to the Gallowes." Ever hear of the "twelve O'clock scholar?" A diller, a dollar, A ten o'clock scholar What makes you come so soon? You used to come at ten o'clock Now you come at noon! The prayer candles will be lit while I am at home Have a great day!

"One difference between pessimists and optimists is that while pessimists are more often right, optimists have far more fun."
Good evening all. Just stopping in for a RBF before I head off to bed. Today was a slow and chilly day at w**k, but that was okay too as it was chilly (never got out of the 50s today). Came home to an empty house tonight and was remotely concerned until I remembered that there was a PTO meeting this evening.. (d'oh!), but the family is back home, the girl kids are in bed, but the little boy child is fighting it....and fighting it well!
Ray: The house and Prius look good sir, glad to see a picture of them both!
Well, I'm going to check out a few other things out on here, then I'm heading off to bed, as 0530 comes early and I have a 5 year old to get up at that time.
It's been a long day for me. Not busy, just slow. I called the hospital taoday and preregistered for the cardiac stress test Thursday. That's gonna be a wasted day. I have that stress test in the morning then I have to take my father to the dentist at noon.Well, time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
