I also saw a message on the "Beta" saying that the old site will only be available for a certain time (unknown time period) and then all would be switched to the new version whether you want it or not. Sigh

Hopefully by then they'll have the bugs worked out. The reason I won't use the Beta is that half the tabs/links DON'T WORK. I see no reason to put up with buggy software when I already have something that works.

FIRST, type in name and password.

Second, Click, Sign In.

Third, Click on Albums. I see all my albums.

The first screen you showed, I get that. That comes up no matter what version you use. Sign in is the same. The third part is the part I don't get. On the original Photobucket page I see this after signing in.

On the Photobucket Beta page I see this after signing in.

No album selection in sight.

When I was switched to the "Beta" and seen that it did, indeed, look and operate poorly, I went back to the old site via the link. I sent in a complaint about the loss of the "drop-down" menu and got a prompt reply that they would consider my criticism in the future. I also saw a message on the "Beta" saying that the old site will only be available for a certain time (unknown time period) and then all would be switched to the new version whether you want it or not. Sigh

I went to Photobucket this morning and logged-in. It appears that all of my images are still there (I don't have nearly as many uploads as some of you).

Thanks to all of you for working out the bugs for the rest of us!!!   Yes

I suspect many are not aware of this, your page may be different than what I see if History and Cookies have not been cleared.

The page I showed before is what I am seeing now. They sometimes throw in another advertising banner. The Sign In block always shows. They assume I have never been there before.

As I said a few messages ago. I use the original PB URL I have used for a few years. I get sent to the Beta site.

FIRST, type in name and password.

Second, Click, Sign In.

Third, Click on Albums. I see all my albums.

I ignore all the junk that they are trowing at me. PB wants your attention on all the other junk.

I have used this procedure for some years.

By the way, I always log out when I am done and I always clear all History, Cookies and any other online stuff from the browser. This has kept me out of any trouble for many years.

This is what I see with Firefox. I click on Sign In. Then My Albums.

Rich

Are you using the original Photobucket? As far as I can see the Beta version doesn't have the 'My Albums' tab. I see 'Home', 'Library', 'Connect', 'Browse', 'Edit', 'Upload'. Below that it say 'Welcome Back "Your account name"'. A stack of photos below that then 'May we suggest you' then it gives a selection of 'Create an album', 'Edit your photos', 'Share with friends'. Nowhere do I see a tab for 'Albums' or 'My Albums'. The only time I see 'Albums' or 'My Albums' is when I switch back to the original view.

For some reason it seem to be different strokes for different folks.

When I bring up the home page most of the links won't work.

To log in I have to click on upload pictures and then I'm asked for my ID and password.

After logging in that's all she wrote.

The URL I have in Bookmarks is www.photobucket.com/. I get taken to http://beta.photobucket.com/

I just logged in again. Clicked on My Albums and no problem. I ignore anything else in the page. Sign In and My Albums are what I focus on. PB is wanting all your attention. Ignore them. I do not bother with Facebook or Twitter either.

Yes, I was taken to the Beta,Photobucket but no problem logging in and seeing my albums.

I always clear all history, cookies and any other online data.

Been using PB for a few years and change just occurs. In this day and age, change is a constant.

I logged in and got the "new" version, too.  With over 4,000 photos lumped together in a "library", it was a disaster to navigate, and unpleasant to view, too.
I contacted them to complain, but by the time they got back to me (quite promptly, considering the amount of complaints they must've received), I had discovered the "switch back to the original" option.  I'm using Firefox.
While photobucket occasionally experiences a few glitches, I find little to complain about on such a useful site, especially since it's free.

I just went to the Photo Bucket site and signed in. All my albums are there and uploaded a photo with no problem.

There are two options on the page. Log in and Sign Up. The Sign Up stands out because you are not signed in yet so they assume you are new.

I am, also, having trouble with Photobucket. You click on a photo and you used to then click on the little square. Then when you clicked on the IMG link option, the word "Copied" would appear momentarily. You,then went back to the Thread where you wished to Post your photo and clicked on Paste and the photo code would appear below any text that you wished to Post. You scrolled down to Post and clicked on it, and your text and photo would appear at the end of the Thread. Now if you click on the desired photo, the photo appears reduced in size on a black background. What has Photobucket done ? Bob Hahn

What I do on mine is hover the mouse pointer over the photo thumbnail on the album page. A box with four options appears. I click on the fourth option (IMG) and 'copied' appears. I go to my post or document, right click, click paste and the IMG line appears.

I have been having problems for months now.  So what other sites do people use and how do they compare?

Bob,

Consider yourself lucky.

When I login all that I get is a welcome back greeting, no pictures. The options to open an account with facebook and twiter appear to be working but I don't want them.

It looks like I may need to find another hosting service.

Using Chrome, I selected "Take me back to the classic site" , which it did. Chrome worked fine on the beta site, but I simply do not like the cartoon-like atmosphere. Like many sites I visit........(hint)

I use fire fox and haven’t had a real problem except for maneuvering around. It did take a while to find everything in all my sub folders and at first I thought I was in some hacked site.

I hate the new Photo Bucket.

Thanks, JohnnyB

Photobucket is not alone in this regard, jumping prematurely into a beta site, although the consequences to the user are more troublesome, especially if photos are lost.

The weather.com web site did something similar, launching a beta site and then switching to it prematurely and permanently.  Now, it is a mess to navigate through.

Too many web sites are trying to do things to act like they are cool, supposedly to be more like Facebook and Twitter and the like.

Apparently everything I had on Photobucket is lost. I get directed to the "Beta Site" no matter what I do, and then nothing. No photos, no help, no nothing. Talk about stupid decision making by a company. How can anyone ever have any confidence in this web site again. Why would they redirect anyone logging on to a version that does not work. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

With the introduction of the beta site, there seems to be a lot of consistency problems, when the beta site comes up your browser and when the regular web site comes up on your browser.   In addition, Photobucket seems to be having difficulties with the various versions of Internet Explorer.

I have also noticed on my computer that once the beta site is accessed it is difficult to return to the regular Photobucket web site.  My advice is once you get on the regular Photobucket web site, stay there and do not return to the beta site.  It is unstable and it is difficult to upload photos.

Interesting, I tried accessing Photobucket from my IPad,  and the beta site came up OK. Maybe it is some conflict with Microsoft?????

I just went and logged into Photobucket the same as always. No problem with Firefox.

I did get the new version yesterday and like others clicked on the link to get the original version which is what is showing. The new one is lousy looking for my desktop, but looks like made for handheld devises such as smart phones etc.

I have gotten use to the new MRR forums lookSmile and I don't need another "new and improved" site at this time.Crying

Last night I had no problems bringing up Photobucket although I didn't like the new format.

After reading some of the posts about problems I just tried and can not get the site to open beyond showing the home page with my name but no pictures.

And to think I complained when MR made a change.

I have Photobucket locked into my "Favorites" as well, and the only difference I've noticed so far with the Beta format is that it takes longer to load on my computer.  I haven't tried uploading any photos from my Picasa program yet (don't have any new ones), so I don't know how that's going to work.  But so far, this new format is just slower to get into.

I am using IE 8 as well. I ddi not choose the Beta either, it just happened. I choose it from my Favorites, i.e photobucket.com, but it re-routes to the beta.

I sent my problems and complaints to support@photobucket.com.
