Evening All,
Had tube steak for supper and just finished a cup of coffee so Flo nothing for me.
Went grocery shopping with MOH at Wally World and believe it or not no waiting at the register at 2 PM. I was shocked.
Phil sent me a bunch of Pennsy photos yesterday and they are now in my collection. Thanks Phil
I agree with Galaxy about the Living Will but also in some states like FL you also need a DNR order if you do not want to be resuscitated if the worst happens. Just something to think about.
Garry- Very nice modeling scene in WPF.
Ray- I think the "Mountain" looks great. It actually reminds me of a RR cut that I would visit as a child when visiting relatives in Western PA.
Galaxy- Prayers for your MIL and FIL.
Stan- That dilapidated building in WPF looks incredible.
Barry- I continue to say prayers for you.
Ulrich- I am also saying prayers for you.
Ken- I hope your toe is doing better. Diabetes is a devastating disease in the long term if not closely managed.
Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Just nuked a TV dinner for lunch. You know the ones that are $1.00 each with 22.6 grams of a turkey-like substance, 18.9 grams of something looking like tappioca pudding but called mash potatoes and 12 grams of corn that looked like something I discarded from my C rations when in Vietnam. Yum, Yum. Like casting a bean into a lion's mouth.
Am considering abandoning my current 1/16th completed layout as ill-considered and assembled to this point in haste. I hope to be designing something I like more. No rush, though, this time.
Gotta' play pick-up-stix tomorrow over the yard to cleanup all the blown down twigs and clippings from the two large pin oaks in the front yard due to "Sandy". Plus, I'll have to put a bit of insulation in the Kit Kat house on the screened in porch so they won't freeze during the winter. Feel like a farmer tending to the land and livestock.........

Good afternoon, all,
A bowl of chili will do nicely at the moment.
Been getting some house items taken care of the last few days in anticipation of resuming full-time work next week. Leaves raked, windows washed, hair cut, shower tile cleaned. Results of all this activity? A very pleased wife, always a good goal.
However, the digital camera gods were not nice to me this morning. After the haircut I went to Kirkwood, MO, to photograph some Union Pacific action and catch Amtrak P42DC 66 (phase II Heritage locomotive) on the morning train from Kansas City. After shooting two UP eastbounds, my camera's battery dies. No spare. Nowhere local to recharge it. And the clouds were finally clearing up. I'm gonna plead with Santa Claus for a spare battery this year. Oy.
Have a good weekend and don't forget to set your clocks back on Saturday night.

YIKES! It NEVER ends!
FIL was in Hospital Wed and Thurs, and got out and got my MIL released today too {she was there for Hospice respite care while he was in there}. Then, when they got her home and settled, she said she wanted coffee, and he got as far as the BR door, and the next thing he knows is he is having 3 people standing over him to go to the hospital! He fainted, passed out and FELL DOWN.
They called MOH at work and MOH called me wanteing me to try and find out what was going on with FIL...ONCE AGAIN< I AM NOT ON THE CONTACT LIST....YET. SO they cannot talk to me!
So, now, he is back in there and I will go sit with MIL.
JEFFREY- That package is on its way, and i will send you a PM here after I post this!
I will have a long busy tiring day ahead with the INLAWS,as if the errands weren't enough.
I hope it is not this complicated in 25 years-30 years when we are as old {mid 80s}...as neither of us has any children, and no nieces or nephews and won't have any!

Have a swell day guys!

Zoe, a bowl of hot oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar along with a pot of dark roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug would do very nicely this morning.
Dull, dark, and gray again today here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 39°F with nearby locations reporting sn...., sn....., sn......! Can't bring myself to even say it. High may get all the way up to 40°F! Whoppie!
Oh, Happy "All Souls Day"! Have you all gotten rid of the Jack-O-Lanterns yet? Know where the Jack-O-Lantern came from?
The practice originated from an Irish myth about a man nicknamed "Stingy Jack." According to the story, Stingy Jack invited the Devil to have a drink with him. True to his name, Stingy Jack didn't want to pay for his drink, so he convinced the Devil to turn himself into a coin that Jack could use to buy their drinks. Once the Devil did so, Jack decided to keep the money and put it into his pocket next to a silver cross, which prevented the Devil from changing back into his original form. Jack eventually freed the Devil, under the condition that he would not bother Jack for one year and that, should Jack die, he would not claim his soul. The next year, Jack again tricked the Devil into climbing into a tree to pick a piece of fruit. While he was up in the tree, Jack carved a sign of the cross into the tree's bark so that the Devil could not come down until the Devil promised Jack not to bother him for ten more years.
Soon after, Jack died. As the legend goes, God would not allow such an unsavory figure into heaven. The Devil, upset by the trick Jack had played on him and keeping his word not to claim his soul, would not allow Jack into hell. He sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack put the coal into a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the Earth with ever since. The Irish began to refer to this ghostly figure as "Jack of the Lantern," and then, simply "Jack O'Lantern."
Barry, keeping you in my prayers again today!
Jeffrey, I agree with you wholeheartedly! Diabetes is not a pleasant thing to live with. IOty is however better than the other option!
I best get a move on as I have stuff I want to do today.

Good morning. It's 66° with 100% humidity and fog. It'll be mostly sunny with a high of 85°.No plans today for layout work. It's possible that my mothers nurse/minder will have to leave this afternoon for a med appointment for herself. If that's the case I'll have to go down there and watch over my mother. That means being on my feet quite a bit. I'm looking forward to that like root canal surgery! It won't be a pleasant experience. Nothing happening here this morning. I got some of the clutter off the layout yesterday. It's a start.
Good morning, Diners. I think I posted on the old diner, not thinking about the day. I caught the cold that everyone seems to be passing around, but I am past the worst of it. Once I kick the cough, I should be fine. Chloe, I think a large black coffee will taste fine this morning. I plan to swim this morning. The big bowl of bleach should help me recover, too.
We had a calm day yesterday, and it shouldn't start raining again until tonight.
Later, Sue

Morning All,
Flo could I have a coffee please?
Not much to report from the last few days. I have a worker coming to the house to look at something then have several errands to do probably including groceries at Wally World, but MOH is off today so she can help.
I hope things are getting better for the people affected by the storm.
I will stop in later. Prayers for those in need.
cudaken Jeffery and Tom, sure not the news I was wanting to hear. Jeffery, I all ready know you have massive problems.
Good Morning!!!
Coffee and peach cobbler please. Thanks.
The age past trick or treat age? Let's say when you grab a walmart bag, turn your hat around, jump in the car and drive to the houses. Or should I say when the person no longer sees it as fun dressing up and getting candy. Instead they see it as just a way to get a bunch of candy for free. Like I said though, that group has really dwindled out the last couple years. Must be a phase or something. Wasn’t that way but within the last say ten years, then kinda gone. Hm. Who knows.
One week and the restaurant changes ownership to my buddy who owns the bar part. Now before you get an Olive Garden view of this thing, the building is like maybe 20 feet wide and maybe 35 feet long. 40 maybe. Not counting the kitchen part. (lotta maybe’s but I never measured it and not that good at eyeballing distance.) The “bar part” is a bar along one wall about half the length of the dining room. Small town you know. Anyway, a bit in a state of indecision as to whether I remain employed there. I have a problem with working for friends or friends working for me. With is ok to an extent. But starting as friends and then working for them…(shakes head) recipe for disaster. Often times things get asked and expected done as a friend would to help and as a business employee, the rules change. Just asking someone to help do something is now asking an employee to do something. Drawing the line between friend and employee becomes blurred and does not usually end up in the same place for both, building hard feelings and then..... Not good. Not to mention the other employees as the see and interpret what goes on as they "see" it. It's different if you work at a place and then become friends. Don’t know we’ll see.
Still grouting on the shower. Why? Oh like today I have so many things happening I’m pretty much doing it in my spare time. “Would you do this, and this, and run into town for this and that. Oh and could you….say, are you ever gonna get that shower done?” “no dear. I figure I’ll save it as a retirement project.”
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Man I got up early, 5:00 AM. But then again I was asleep around 7:00 PM last night. Something I ate did nor agree with me, between 10:00 and 10:30 PM I could not stay out of the bathroom! Think I made 6 trips in that short time.
Jeffery and Tom, sure not the news I was wanting to hear. Jeffery, I all ready know you have massive problems.
Tom, has your Blood Sugar been under control?
I guess what I need to keep in mind is the Damage to my capillary's is all ready done. Only real hope I have at this point is I still have good blood flow in my feet. I am being seen by the Foot Ulcer Clinic on the 19th, maybe they have a few tricks up there sleeve. I hope.
Has anyone heard from Ulrich or Petra yet?
See you all after work.

LSWrr My Uncle passed away in 1985. In 2006 my Aunt had a problem with the electric bill and the power company wouldn’t speak to my aunt or I since our names weren’t on the bill. I brought it to the attention of the electric company’s lawyers that they had been cashing my aunt’s checks without my Uncle’s name on them for the past 20 years. They were very helpful in changing the name on the account after that.

Flip, the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act (note if it has ACT after it Congress installed it) has been something I’ve been knee deep in it for the past year here at work and I still don’t understand everything.

GOOD MORNING!!!
Often, we may in MRRIng, in sports or with children, we EGG SOMEONE ON, SO:
Meaning: To egg someone on is to encourage them and urge them forward
Origin:
This little term has nothing to do with bird's eggs. Nor is it connected with the phrase that employs the other common usage of 'egg' as a verb, i.e. 'over-egg the pudding'. The 'egg' of 'egg on' is a straightforward variant of 'edge', so to 'egg someone on' is to edge, or urge, them forward. Egg and edge both have the look and feel of Viking words and this first impressions turns out to be correct, as they both derive from the Old Norse 'eddja'.
Egg has been used as a verb in English since around the 13th century and appears in print in the Trinity College Homer, in the form of 'eggede', circa 1200.
To 'egg on' appears later. It is used in Thomas Drant's translation of Horace - Horace his arte of poetrie, pistles and satyrs englished, 1566:
"Ile egge them on to speake some thyng, whiche spoken may repent them."

Janie, may please have a cup of decaf before I call it a day?
I spent a good amount of time finishing up (well almost as I may some changes) the bit of scenery I was doing. Some shots of where it is at rioght now:
a close up of an area:
Couple things I decided I don't like. What do you think? I don't like the tall tree in the back as it doesn't look right against the backdrop and it is too tall. I also don't like the tree on the bottom level in the front (right, in front of the rocks). It covers too much of the scene above it. Some changes will be made...
Guess It is time for bed... An old Scouting buddy of mine (Commissioner for the troop I have been doing the MB with) stopped by with a check for printing up a flyer for them and a sheet of proof I did the MB with the troop a couple years ago for the Volunteer certificate for the NMRA. So we sat and talked for a couple hours...
Prayers!
See you all tomorrow!
