Jeffrey, so Yall livin' on souper hahway down there in Lousizi Anne now?  Looks good!

Yeah boy! We'un's in high cotton now for sure!Laugh

Youze a cotton picken' son of a gun? Gots yerselfs a PAVED road now, don't yer?

Glad to seeze it, Weezy-anna movin' up in dah world?

I bets y'all don't quite talk that-a way!

But I DO bets y'all got a southern draaaawwwwwllll....

Well, DId my j-o-b and voted,,, hope all in the USA did too...it's your right and you can't complain about anything  iff'n you did NOT vote! No more politics...

Did some other errands too...picked up stuff at Home De Pot. De Pot was nice for once. We happened to be closer ther than to Lowes {where we usually go} so we went to De Pot. That's the brother of the  darn French man on the roads..Mssr. De Tour!

So we also looked at cars...MOH is hankerin' for one bad and we just don't have the money! MOH also doesn't seem to understand it will be what we can afford when the time comes and what gets the best mileage, NOT necessarilly what MOH WANTS! I want  a Rolls Royce, but we can't afford that either! It will hopefully be 2 years old and at a terriffic price, though used cars will apparently go up as there will be a shortage, as the newer used cars are being shipped off to the Sandy zones! Harrumph!

Well, dinner was surf and turf...steak and salmon with acorn squash.

Have  a good night, I am exhausted! Will find out who won or was selected in the AM.

Now all I have to do is write the check for everything!

There is always the "write a check" part to any project isn't there. Sigh.

Just wondering, what does sn*w on the roof/panels do to the electric power production? That is of course if you have the sn*w on the roof problem down your way.

Just wondering. Out here in Alberta, if you have solar panels on the roof, the roof has to have a really steep pitch so that the sn*w will slide off.

Today I got a surprise in the mail. No, not an exploding box though I've received a couple that were ticking.

This was a large yellow envelope. In it I found a 1976 Fleischmann catalog for HO and N Scales and eleven Dream, Plan, Build medallions in their displays.

Afternoon folks!

Chloe, a cup of hot chocolate would hit the spot right now.

Welp...  Went over and filled in all dots where I wanted to cast a vote for polyticians late this morning.  Looks like a good turnout at that point.  The machine accepted my dots and told me I had voted...

The inspector from NYSERDA has been here and just left.  Not only was everything done properly by O'Connell but he expects the system should exceed my wildest expectations.  He went up on the roof and checked the solar estimates they were given from O'Connell Electric (84%) and found they should be rated at 91% to 96% based on which row the panels are in.  He said that come next May through September they will be producing some serious power!  And they are doing as much or more than expected right now.  And the sun is out for a while to boot!

Now all I have to do is write the check for everything!

Good morning, Diners.  I woke up a little early today.  Larry has my cold now so I am sneaking around quietly.  He is usually long gone by now.

I agree.  I can't wait for the campaign adds to disappear.  Washington is entirely as absentee ballot state so weather is no longer a factor like in the old days.  Today we will see lots of people with signs at the intersections.  Traffic jam!

I should start getting ready to go swim.

Two things on the agenda today.  1. Vote and 2. Organize my recent train show haul of back issues of Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette.  Can't wait to read those back issues.  I fear I will never enter the 1970's issue group as they are rather collectable with the earliest issues going for $30.00 plus each!

I see hundreds of piles of MR and MRC on tables at train shows from 50 cents each to free.  Yet almost all back issues of NGSG are more than the original newstand price or close to it.  Most are $5.00 each from 2010 back to about 1981 and then they start to climb.

I don't think having every issue will ever be on my bucket list.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a cup of dark roast coffee and a couple sour cream donuts to dunk.  Oh use my FGLK Mug if you will....  Donuts fit better in that one.

As of yesterday the forecast for today was sunny!  Bright wonderful sunshine....  As of this morning the forecast is mostly...  Cloudy that is.  But don't worry it is supposed to be clear tonight!   The inspectors should be arriving about 3:30 this afternoon.

I best bet moving, go down to the school and cast my ballot as is both my privilege and duty!  Then I have a few clean-up kinds of things to do before they get here.

Barry, glad it was only a muscle strain!  Much better than the other thing!

Catch you all later!

Morning All,

Sitting here drinking a cup of coffee. I'm glad I voted early as it is drizzling here. It  is probably a cold front coming through since we start to cool down this week. I go back to w**k in a couple of hours and  I will talk to you all on Friday.

Hope everybody has a great week and prayers for those in need.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and the Election Day Special please. I’d like my pork pulled  with plenty of fat, macaroni salad with oooooh, let’s pick potato salad hidden inside please. No wait, don’t tell me what it’s covering after all, let me find out after I get it. Bread and Sweet Baby Ray’s regular sauce. Best thing about this breakfast is, once I agree to it, there’s no telling what I’ll end up getting. Oh and Zoe, could you wait until I finish eating before you bombard me with the male bovine waste? You think I’d be used to it, butSigh no. Thank you, you’re a dear.

The new coffee maker that looks like a 4-4-0 is just so cool!

A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 47.

Lee- Cutie pie Katje. I remember when Missy looked like that. And yes the Furminator rules. Missy’s still a Lab so she’ll shed even after she’s bald, but the Furminator has reeeally cut back on the fur tumbleweeds. I can go almost a week before I feel the need to vacuum the hair up instead of two days.

Ok maybe three.

Apparently the drivers of the trucks don’t know how tall they are and can’t see the “STOP! You’re too tall” lights flashing. But just out of curiousity, I wonder how long it will take for the camper to realize he no longer has ACLaugh.

Ken- Oh no problem on the coffee, Flo wasn’t happy about the mess but…Stick out tongue.hey. The lights I get are the 60 watt equivalent “Daylight” type with like the highest Kelvin things. 600, 650….something like that. Use them in the trainroom, garage and will start using them most everywhere as replacements are needed, ‘cept like the bedroom maybe. They are a whiter light and reeeeally light the place up. I love em.

Charlie- Yep, I’ve noticed that a lot out there in the forums. The people who actually have stuff just don’t know as much as those who’ve read about them. And they'll agrue with you too. "You can't have an 18" curve because so and so wrote it won't go around one. So THERE!" I just kinda chuckle. Oh and Happy belated Birthday!

Fill up yer vehicles today, cause once the votin’s over the gas prices will shoot up. Gas has steadily declined to last nights price of $3.25 per gallon. Who knows what it’ll drop to today if any. But tomorrow, tomorrow all bets are off. This is not a partisan opinion because the President, regardless of his or her party does not control gas prices but somehow people associate it with them so….Confused I may be wrong, but I’m fillin up anyway.

Off to vote I hope the line is short by the time I get there. Williamsville is broke into 2 precincts because a while back, I guess they were getting big enough people were complaining that they would have like 3 or 4 people in line.So they figured they’d cut the lines in half. Works pretty good cept during the morning to work and evening from work rush. You can still get upwards of three in a line at times.

VOTE EARLY!.....VOTE OFTEN. It’s your right.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Good morning. It's 48° with 92% humidity. It'll be mostly sunny with a high of 68°.

Cool this morning and somewhat foggy. I feel a lot better than I did yesterday at this time. Good enough in fact that I can go to voting polls in an hour or two and do my duty as a citizen.

I'll need to go to Lowe's to get some inch and a quarter pipe to extend my kitchen drain line. Wouldn't hurt to get some PVC cement too.

No layout work planned for today but you never know.

Nothing to report other than we had our first trace amount of snow yesterday.

About 75 miles south west of me there will be several open houses:

MusicHe was on his way home from candle  top

Been two weeks gone and he  thought he'd stop

At Web's and have him a drink for he went home  to her

Andy  wo-lo said hello

Wo said "Sit down I got some bad news  that's gonna hurt

Said I'm your best  friend and you know that's right

But  your young bride ain't home tonight

Since you been gone she's been seeing that amos boy Seth

He got mad and he saw red

Andy said "Boy don't you lose your head

Cause to tell you the truth I've been with her  myself"

Chorus:

That's the night the lights went out in  georgia

That's the night that they  hung an innocent man

Don't trust  your soul to no back woods southern lawyer

Cause  the judge in the town's got bloodstains on his handMusic

Good evening, all,

A dish of ice cream and a coffee, please.

'Twas a typically dreary November day on this Election Eve.  The weekly trek to DeSoto, MO, to ensure radio station KHZR's FCC compliancy was uneventful.  The Union Pacific car shops there continue to crank out refurbished TTX auto racks and UP CenterFlow hoppers with CNW reporting marks.  The rest of the work day went smoothly with two surprises: a)  I spoke on the phone with Mac Powell of the band Third Day as he called in to do a phone interview, and b) I'm now the night and weekend voice of KLJY 99.1 JoyFM Wink.  Well, sort of....instead of on the air it's on the phone as I recorded a new after-hours greeting for our phone system.  One small step....

We now return you to your regularly scheduled forum....

Good Evening

Our weather gave us what we expected. Plenty of dull dull dull dull and not much else...tomorrow the sun will show...for a few seconds....

Today was a slooooooooooowwwwww day for me. even my mall walking was slow..instead of my usual trip to Springbank Park it was a trip to the mall and a couple of easy laps around the shops...the chest pains turned out to be something I never heard of.....pulled chest muscles...must have been from lifting a few things into the closet shelves....oh joy....

Anyways...gonna go and see what is up on the forums now...have a good evening!!!

Sometimes I wonder about some people on the main forum. I responded to a request for info on Dynamis DCC and was the only respondent who actually owns one but it seems I don't know what I'm talking about and can't possibly be correct on the warranty. Don't think I'll bother anymore.

I know exactly what you are saying CNCharlie, it seems like every time I post over there all I get is hassles about what I've said or not said etc. I still read some of the posts in the main form if it sounds like it's something useful but I keep my mouth shut Zip it! there now.

Everyone is an expert I suppose or they think they are anyway.Sigh

Good Evening Diners!

It has been a few weeks since I was last in but I do go to the drive-thru on most days to see what is going on here.

Johnboy, a belated Happy Birthday !  I did remember which is rather easy as you are the only person I know of who has the same birthday date as I.

Der John, Pictou, eh? I certainly have spent a bit of time there but not for a few years. Very pretty town but the shopping district isn't much anymore. We used to have a dealer there but he closed his store a couple of years ago. There used to be a great restaurant on the main drag, Stone House I think it was called, that served great seafood chowder. Anyway I can picture where you are going. I use glasses on my N scale and HO but don't find it a problem. It was in anticipation of a move that I decided to try N scale on a door. I might do a shelf switching layout instead in HO when the big move does happen but I think it will be a few years in the future.

Dennis in the U.S., loved your pictures of Sammy. We have a Westie too. He is only 3 and goes by the name of Jamie . There has been a Westie( 2 for 15 years) in our house for the past 29 years. Sure are great little dogs.

Sometimes I wonder about some people on the main forum. I responded to a request for info on Dynamis DCC and was the only respondent who actually owns one but it seems I don't know what I'm talking about and can't possibly be correct on the warranty. Don't think I'll bother anymore.

Well now that it is November way freight operations are now over and the hog is in the engine house. It is time for a little fast passenger action and to that end the U2g is now on the mainline. It really doesn't like my little layout much and although it can do 18" radius it isn't happy on my 19" and not much more on 22" but it sure looks and sounds great.

Hope all those ailing are recovering and hope to see you again soon.

 Evening Folks

Flo, I take a Beer and Shaddy wants a CLT sandwich, extra mayo.

Have not felt like doing a darn thing today!  Neither what I wanted to do, or should have done! I am really starting to wonder what is wrong with me at this point. I seen the ads on TV about low Testosterone and sort sounds like how I feel, except one thing. Which I can really talk about here at the dinner. But part of me still thinks I am 16, I will leave it at that. If anyone here as low testosterone (boy I am hopping I spelled that right) pleases contact me.

DCC system was acting up again today! Bang Head Had to unplug the transformer for the DB 150 3 times before it would start working right again!

Todd, sorry I made you spit up your coffee! The CFL I bought was a 150 watt equivalent and it is a Sylvania plus I bought it at K Mart not Wally World. But I did not feel like going the the Super Wally World and waking 15 minutes to find the light bulb section!

 My PA

Finally called in my second Blood Presser Med!

I wish I had this PA!

Like to have one that works right!

 See you all later

Good evening.

It's a pleasant 70 here right now. Today the parish got started on blacktopping the road out here. It's about time! They've only been promising to do it for the last thirty some odd years!

I feel much better than I did this morning and my balance is somewhat better. My knees are still a bit shaky though. I should be feeling good enough in the morning to go vote. It's looking like we have a fair chance of rain tonight. I just hope we don't get any bad storms.

No layout work today.

Evenin' folks!

Chloe I'll have a bowl of the beef stew with dumplings, a trip to the salad bar, and a hot cup of decaf for the moment.

Got most of the must do items done today, but not as much as I had hoped.

Galaxy, oh I am making some electricity, but no where near what it would be if the sun would shine a bit, and the stupid leaves on the two maple trees would decide to fall off...  Today was the worst I have done since it was put up.  Only 3 Kw all day.  On the other hand this is the weak time of year for production and I have a total of close to 490Kw for the 2 months it has been producing power.  My total electric bill for the past month is $24.60 so I can't complain.  For 3 months half a year from now it will be less than $0...  We generally get a lot of sunny days around here in the winter so hopefully the production should improve.

Tomorrow is the final inspection and tests of the system.

A friend from the Museum sent me this...  YES!  The railroads win!  http://www.flixxy.com/worlds-toughest-bridge.htm#.UJgqhYVOQ-V   There is a RR bridge in Canandaigua that has done the same thing over the years.  I have witnessed a few personally under it.  Enjoy!

Catch you all a bit later.

Evening All,

MOH is picking up Chinese takeout on the way home tonight. Tomorrow I go back to w**k. The high for Wed & Thur here is supposed to be 70 F, Brrrrrrr.

I had some blood drawn for my  next MD visit today and went to the Chiropractor. Came home and swept the floor.

I striped the bad  finish of the lamp reflecting lens and chrome painted it. I also started wire striping the old paint off the lens hood and that is going to take forever. I am thinking strongly about taking the metal parts to get sand blasted.

Barry- I hope your chest pain turned out to be nothing.

Johnboy- Happy belated birthday.Cake

DerJohn- It was good to see you again but sorry to hear about your layout.

JR- Have a safe trip to Daytona and good luck racing.

Garry- Hope you have a safe trip also and have a good time.

Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need,

Curt Webb

Seamonster: I didn’t want to come right out and say Trane. Opps there you went and made me do it.  The trick with some furnaces is parts availability. The Trane parts dealership is over 2.5 hours away for me so when we installed the Central air and furnace in my Aunt’s House that only had the coal furnace, converted to oil, converted to natural gas we stayed away from the Trane.  The unit we have (I forgot the name but I think it’s an Armstrong) doesn’t have a circuit board but it does have the infrared igniter (no pilot light).  I don’t think it has any digital parts to it.

Brakie, are you going to or belong to the Route 30 Express MRR Club open houses on the 17th???
