Here is a country scene. At least there are a few cows visible.

The cows don't seem to be bothered by the passing of the locomotive.

How about another country scene.

Remember its your railroad

My critter uses diesel fuel, and it looks like somebody has spilled it all over the locomotive!

Show me another critter, preferably scratch built.

Look close to see the boat on the trailer behind the car on a early morning.  Jack is never going to get to the lake because he can't stop spinning yarns with the guy on the porch.

 Show me a dirt road!

Long gone:

My N scale layout as photographed in 1978 (I was 20):

After these photos were taken, I gave it to an aspiring young model railroader.  I don't know what became of my layout.

Show me another long gone layout.

Garry, that is really a very nice scene, and I really like that house behind the covered bridge. Could you please tell me what kit that is?      Samhttp://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/dgbseh/pictures%202010/CBQ4-8-2inVH2-1.jpg

Sam ... Thanks for the remark. All houses in the background are smaller than my HO scale trains. They were cheap, dollar store, knickknacks. I touched up the paint to improve appearance. The church was a Hallmark Christmas ornament which had dullcoat applied after minor changes.

Ollevon asked for a diner or restaurant near the tracks.

Pictured is an area of the layout I've been working on this hot summer. Because of the heat and humidity my wife says I need to stay inside. I can't ague with that idea.

Bob, all well and good, but which is the diner?

I see a 7-11, radio station, gas station, trucking business, motel, and station.

Lake

Bob, all well and good, but which is the diner?

I see a 7-11, radio station, gas station, trucking business, motel, and station.

I spotted it easily enough; it's just beyond the gas station - a pre-fab stainless steel diner building popular in the mid-20th century.  There are still a few of them around.

While looking for HO scale trees I found this.

 Cheap Life Like train set.

Then it keep going and going.

And going

 And Going

I hope there is never ending.

Show me your worst mistake. I showed you mine, green outdoor carpet.

This is my worst mistake - my first layout. Constantly ducking in and out of the pit in the center, switches that couldn't be reached from anywhere, bad wiring, you name it. Also in an addition on the back of the house that I don't heat in the winter. It was geting pretty close to done when I tore it down and started over in the basement, but I'm glad I built it...I learned a lot from that mistake.\

Show me something that worked out better than you expected.
