 Afternoon Fellow Dinners!

Flo, you know what I want! Big Smile Thank you dear!

Good Thing I got Off At 12:00 PM Today! I left the shop at 2:30 PM. 8 days in a row and I am beat! Only 2 more to go for a day off, I hope?

Gary Far as Larry, do you remember when I posted that the Auditor was at the shop and someone tried to frame me for a cover up missing tires? Told the Auditor what I knew, then he ask me who I thought did the deed? I started showing him paper work where Larry was stealing my tickets! Well the company took action! They promoted him, gave him a raise (what he said) and moved him to another shop! Bang Head Either way he is out of my hair and I feel better about going to work. in the book of life, I have yet to find the chapter about Life Being Fair!

Lee Got Sliver Light installed, now all I have to do is find the CD for my photo program.

Man I am beat, see you all later.

Evening in the Diner...
Posted by galaxy on Sunday, April 29, 2012 4:32 PM

Since dinner happened at Friendly's at lunch time, dinner is take-home Ice Cream Sundaes from there. 2 scoops Strawberry ice cream topped with strawbeerries for me. It is a free one as it comes wiht Senior meals..I asked if they had a Friendly's AARP discount {of which we are both members thanks to MOH}, and she said "I don't care how old you are" which didn't answer my question, but I'll take it. We ate there once a long time ago and she gave us automatically the Sr. discount. We don't know if that was a mistake or if she really thought we were Srs. then? Or did  she make a mistake? We paid the bill as I said do we want to make a scene out of her error?

Having anything "sweet" or "sweet like" for dinner when I was a kid, my father called "slick". Ice Cream banana splits were a common choice for a "slick " dinner. What "slick" really means, I guess i will have to ask him.

Well, We got the Magellan. BUT they are factory refurbished and the holder is broken , so we either take it back, and sometime later when we have the money get a new one with traffic updates and road map updates, or ask them for a new holder at least. We will see tomorrow.

WE were going to go to Home Despot to look at water heaters and see what they recommend for a trailer and see if they know about the $3k to code one necessary for a trailer? BUt my back was giving out after we perused the discount/odd lots/closeouts store. Their prices at the odd lots store were NOT really that fantastic on a lot of stuff...others were a bargain if you can find yourself what you want. Like men's jeans and pants at $9- $12 for Wrangler and other brands of jeans and khakis. Cram packed with stuff in narrow  aisles it was. Not the best thing. Nothing to fit my portly figure though, of course!

Well, I have bored you to tears...I will go look at Hawaiian properties and dream of bieng ont eh shores of Waikiki.....

Here I sit, fat, dumb and happy....Huh?

Hey guys

I managed to find some time to go to a local train show today after work. I picked up a bunch of Details West beacons, a few firecracker antennae, a few other parts, and a soundtraxx decoder (non-sound). Spent about 38 bucks for all of it. I'm thinking the new decoder will go into my P2K GP38-2 so I can MU it to my GP15.

Work was kinda busy today. I didn't leave on time because my replacement left his cell phone at his house. (Why do you need on to work anyways?)

My ankles have been feeling funny for the past few weeks. Sometimes they are really itchy and I get blisters, other times they are sore as all get it. If I don't do a whole lot, they are the former. If I work them a lot, they are the latter. Isn't 22 a little young to be having ankle troubles? (IDK what it is)

Ulrich, I was never around for the 50 cent a gallon gas, but boy do I wish it was that. I spent close to 55 bucks on filling up the tank on my mustang today. Think of all the trains I could buy if gas weren't so darned expensive.

Ken, check your PMs.

Jeffery, sucks to hear your knee gave out on you like that. As for standing on a 2x4 that's on end, you'r kind of tempting me to try it for some reason. I've done 4x4s though.

Chad, Neat to see you in here

Say has anyone seen Chris or Lee lately?

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

***Jeffrey, dang, so sorry to hear about your lost round to gravity and subsequent damage. Yikes, that just plain s_cks! Hope you find some way manage. I imagine healing from any such injuries takes quite some time, if at all.

It's not the first time for this knee. I've had trouble with it for years but it's the first time it's gone all the way to the ground. I can move it OK and the swelling is minimal so it appears nothing is broken. I do have a heck of a bruise on my kneecap though and it takes a hard hit for me to get a bruise.

Hey, how you all doin'?

I wish you all the best!!!
(I don't want to single anyone out, as that leves everyone else out cold, & I don't want that)!

I was lucky to get a day off & join my Dad & friends up at the Le Seuer Pioneer Tractor Swap Meet, Lots of cool stuff, I came home with some HO 1/87 CAT's & some little JD crawlers that work in HO.
I also saw these, & I was really impressed & thought I would Share!!!

Here are two totally AWESOME mini's (lawn mower class) IH customs I saw at the Le Seuer Pioneer Power Swap Meet on April 27, 2012. These were really neat, they told me I need more disposable income & a much better job! Those were wickedly cool!  I also saw, but didn't get  a pic of another unit, that was customzed with a working Front End Bucket Loader, & it would be just the thing for Winter driveway cleaning, & so much neater than a skid loader!

Hey,
If I got top or not, have a Sunday Dinner & Drinks on me, Least I can do for you guys!
Enjoy!!!
Thanks Fellas!!!

Mine must be an older version. I don't see that listed. I'm using version 2.0.3 with Adblock popup Addon 0.3 and Adblock Plus filter uploader 2.1.

Jeffrey, all I seem to find on the version since it is embedded in Firefox, is that it is version 2.0.  The "allow non intrusive advertising" is found under Filter Preferences on Firefox.  Of course it may be something on the Mac that doesn't appear on the PC???

Hasn't appeared yet since I unchecked the box.  Hopefully I have it back blocking the pop up.

Aha! Yes, I found it and it WAS checked. I took great delight in un-checking it. Thanks for the information. I use a PC. Last MAC type computer I had was a LISA back in the 80's. It moved along at a whole five Mhz and had one meg of RAM and two 5.25" drives.

Well, my attempt to help my mother today came to a sudden, painful and abrupt end. She had just finished her breakfast so I got up to collect her tray. I hadn't taken two steps when my left knee gave out and gravity took over. My leg folded up and I slammed down hard on my left knee just before doing a face plant into the floor! So now I had a knee that felt like it was on fire and a busted nose spewing blood. I remember being more concerned about not making a mess of the rug and I rolled to the left where the floor is bare concrete. At least that's easier to clean. I did manage to get back up but I couldn't hold my weight on my left leg without the knee being real wobbly and standing on my right leg is pretty hard as there's not a foot to stand on. My right foot is rolled ninety degrees so the part that contacts the ground is the end of the shin bone. I have to wear a special boot just to walk on that and supporting my weight on it is out of the question. Try standing a two foot 2x4 on end and standing on it. You'll get my point. So I managed to get home OK but now there's not much I can do.

Jeffrey, I think I found out why the pop up has been appearing at the site.  There is a box on the new version of ABP that says, "Allow non intrusive ads to appear."  I didn't know there was a "non-intrusive" ad?  Ads that appear in my face just make me not want to buy the product.  Period!  THAT is the biggest reason why I don't watch the idiot box at all anymore!  Most old reuns of what were originally half hour shows now are an hour long and have of the content taken out......  So we can get bombarded by ads for products we shouldn't be using ion the first place....  Just my My 2 Cents

And as far as I'm concerned there's no such thing as a 'non-intrusive' adBlack Eye. They're all intrusiveGrumpyDead. When I prepare to watch a TV program I record it on the DVR first so I can skip over the commercials.

Mornin' everyone!  Zoe, I'll have the #2 Special this morning.  Over easy on the eggs, bacon, home friers, and a double order of sour dough toast to go along with my dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug.  Hope you got a full pot of the dark roast out there.

Sun is shining outside the window this morning and the temp is hovering around 48°F, so it is a nice Spring day here in the Finger lakes.  Need to eat and run as i have to finish mowing the lawn and then start cleaning the house.....

Galaxy:  Too bad you didn't have a camera when you spotted that speeder at the gas pumps.  That's why I keep an inexpensive camera in the console of our car--for those moments that come and go, never to be seen again.  The only problem with that camera is that the LCD screen is impossible to see anything with in sunlight.  That's why I prefer my big camera with the electronic viewfinder.

Re: handicap parking signs.  Here, we have the hang on the mirror thingy.  It's good for 5 years then they automatically send you a renewal form with a form for the doctor to fill in.  I guess they need a doctor to tell them that you're still handicapped.  I believe the renewal costs $12.50 and they send you new date stickers to put over the old ones.  The placard is good for the person it's registered to, no matter what vehicle he/she is in, so my wife carries hers in her purse so that she can use it if a friend is taking her somewhere.  One time when I took my wife to her bank, I parked in the handicap space and she hung up the placard and went inside the bank.  I stayed in the car.  A woman came out of the bank and proceeded to chew me out something fierce for parking in a handicap spot.  When I asked her if it ever occurred to her that my passenger was the handicapped person, she changed her tune, apologized and slunk off.

Going to a odd lots place to get a new GPS I think we can squeeze it out of MOH/s Birthday money. The Magellan 3045LM if they have any left when we get there.

Then maybe eat at Friendly's or Denny's we have coupons from both in the Sunday paper.Although we have, 3 times out of the last 4 had bad cold food at Denny's and they always have a lame excuse of only one cook on duty or somehting..still doesn't mean our food shouldn't be cold? SO WE might find Friendly's the place to go from now on.

"Mourning is, in the simplest sense, synonymous with grief over the death of someone. The word is also used to describe a cultural complex of behaviors in which the bereaved participate or are expected to participate. Customs vary between different cultures and evolve over time, though many core behaviors remain constant."

Well, it is not that inappropriate Laugh

We do a lot of mourning in here, about the good times gone by, when a Dollar was a Dollar, gas could be had for 50 cents a gallon, Athearn blue box kits were still around and model railroading was a hobby for real men Mischief

Ah, well, tempi passati!

Good morning. It's 69° and cloudy. The high will be 85° and it will be partly cloudy.

Nothing special today. I can get around albeit slowly. My father is working today so I have to go down in a bit to get my mother her morning meal. I'm looking forward to that like a root canal. No plans for the layout today. I did get a chance to run some trains last night. Gave me a chance to push a Bachmann cleaner car ahead of the train to wipe the rails where dust from the Shell Service Center settled on the track in an area I can't easily reach. My niece and her husband have opened the pool behind my parents place and are saying it'll be ready for use by Tuesday. Bully for them. I haven't used the pool since about the time hurricane Rita roared through and see no reason to do so now.

Good Morning!!! Coffee and the Sunday Breakfast Buffet please. Thank you.

No traffic problems here except at the rush hours. We have four when schools in session. The ramps to and from the Interstat are well laid out and the main roads are also well laid out that the traffic generally flows very weel. Except when old Bob Sherrock is ridnng his mower down Main street. Kinda snarls things up then.

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 63. East wind between 10 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph.

Well, I did get some stuff done yesterday. Started to mow. Got the front yard and the south side done, then decided it would be in my best interest to go see MIL on her B-day which was yesterday. So I stopped, took the grass bags to the lake and then headed into town. Spent some time in there and of course it started to rain juuuust enough to make mowing a packed mess and bagging impossible, but not enough to keep me from cleaning out some Black Raspberries and those whatever they’re called…..ground ivy is what we always call it but who knows what it’s really called. Ivy I thought was usually a vine this stuff is little clumps with leaves looking like ivy and almost pulls up when you touch the stuff. Well not the roots but the stems just….well, ANYway, Cleaning out to make the division between the Black Raspberries, and the Black berries again Found a few new Blacberry starts in amongst the raspberries so that will be good. Also got the last of the Blackberry bush that showed up by the soon to be replaced AC unit and all are now resting at their new home. Unless she didn’t take them out of the van and are riding around who knows where. That would be alright as I can’t remember the last time those plants got out and about. Probably enjoying the trip.

Welp, rambled about brambles enough. Don’t know what I’ll do today hopefully I’ll get to do some stuff outside like finish the berry patch cleanup and I’d like to mow the backyard to finish what I didn’t get done yesterday.

I need to buy some dirt. Yup. It goes against my grain to buy dirt, but since I live in town and do not have access to dirt othern dig another hole, I’ll have to buy a bag of dirt to fill in the holes from where these bushes were. Just the ones by the AC unit. I can scratch around the area for the raspberry patch for those little holes, but the Blackberries are a bush so the crater left is much larger and uh-PAIR-unt-lee… we just can’t have holes laying around this joint. Oh well. I guess I could just go down to the “have a bucket loader can dredge a lake” project and get a five gallon buckets worth from there. Hmmmmmm.

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Speaking of annoying ads....  Why is that stupid notice popping up (it is a jpg) every time I close my browser and reopen it telling me how much I am missing by not getting the Kalmbach Newsletter???  I get the thing, glance at it and put it in the trash!  What more am I supposed to do.  I have the latest Ad Blocker Plus on Firefox!

I started getting that last week. I had to create a new filter for it in Adblocker. Just for good measure I blocked out all the click boxes on the screen for the different mags. No more popups.
