There is very slight chances I may get the Services Manager slot, but I am not holding my breath. I much rather get sent to another store as a services manager.

Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a cup of decaf for me right now.  Thank you Ma'am.

Actually managed to get quite a lot done today.  The hearing aids are now working very well.  I was able to understand everyone at the MLK Meeting tonight in a room that has about the worst acoustics you can manage.  I told everyone it was good to hear them tonight...  I think they liked not having to tell me the same thing several times in a row also!  Earlier today i did some shopping at the Value Center in town.  One thing i bought was a set of Victor Mouse Traps......  Yesterday I twice got a glimpse of a little mousie wousie scurrying across the kitchen floor and disappearing into a space under the kitchen cabinets.  Big and fat little mousie as he had been helping himself to the kitties food....  I think he must have bee around a while and I never saw him before.  The second time I saw him Manet was hot on his trail.  He just managed to escape to his hiding place.  Today I gave him some fresh peanut butter served on a loaded trap....  He was done in when I got home from the hearing center.....  He will be going out with the trash before bed!

The new Crown Amp came in for the sound system I am putting in the train room.  Have it all hooked up and sounding great down there.  Using my old Tannoy near field monitors for the speaker system.

Best be heading out to bed I guess....

Prayers for all in need!

Got back home a little while ago. Been down at my parents place looking after my mother and getting some more laundry done. Got her breakfast, lunch and dinner today. Hopefully my father should be home tomorrow and I can get a break. Today when I was bringing her lunch one of her poodles came up behind me and barked. Lunch was ALMOST all over the room as I headed for the ceiling then came down cussing a blue streak that sent the dog running for cover. Ever seen the road runner come up behind Wile E and go beep-beep? Same effect! If he had a removable 'barker' I'd rip it out and seal it in an airtight box. I'm tired and I'm sore and in a while it'll be time for me to prepare MY dinner. Won't that be a change?

Garry, It's going pretty good, no drama or issues at the college. I tend to leave others alone, and they leave me alone. The only issue I have now is that I though everything was due this week, so I was cramming. Apparently I crammed a week in advance. Laugh The stuff isn't due till next week... After this semester I have to take 1 more class, which I'll do over the summer.

Curt, Try looking at the phone or speaker wire. I bought a bunch of phone wire when I had a layout, IIRC it was solid core 18 gauge, and it was in 3 colors wound together (handy because I was using them for switch machines). If not, you may have to order it from one of those places.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Hamburger patties, please.

Almost finished the middle pasture when a pin on the cutter sheared off. Probably hit an oversized fireant mound. With no spares (will buy a bunch next time in town) I jumped on the riding mower and cut the orchard and most of the pony pasture. Still some bad mud in there, so couldn't do it all.

Ah, there's dinner. Dinner Rob

Galaxy ... Bill T is simply having fun. I'm glad he does that. Humor is good for everybody. Have fun! (Edit ... Of course, I'm glad Galaxy is here, too!)

Curt ... Regarding wire gauge. I have a copy of Kalmbach's book "DCC Made Easy" by Lionel Strang. He uses 14 gauge for bus wires and 20 or 22 gauge for feeders for HO. The feeders should not be too long.  Glad the TT is on its way.

Vincent ... Feel fre to update us on how college is going.

Evening All,

Has not been to bad at w**k today, mainly due to the weather I am sure. It starts warming up tomorrow and will be 88 F Friday. Nothing new on my friends Mother. They are in the process of bringing her out of her induced coma.

I did recieve good news today. DMW has shipped my Walthers TT. It is supposed to be delivered on FridayBig Smile. This brings up a question that I hope you all can answer. I need to get 18 AWG solid wire for the power buss on the extension. I have looked at Home Depot (bought it there a year ago), Lowes, Radio Shack, and Ace Hardware and no one has it. I can order it on line but would prefer not to. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ken- Hope work went OK today at work.

Everyone take care and prayers for those in need.

Evening in the Diner - April 24, 2012
Posted by galaxy on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 6:01 PM

The subject line can be changed.

It is a bit annoying to still see a morning greeting in the evening, or the wrong date in the title line.

Bill, {wetidlerjr}, began a while ago changing everything I put in the title line to some smart comment about what I said and would incessantly do so to every I posted a "Afternoon in the Diner"  or "Evening in the Diner" greeting I put in there.

If the subject line changed from his day-long "good morning..." {by anybody} he wasn't happy to let it go.

He ALSO was starting to make a post simply because I had posted regardless of what my subject line was just to change it to some smart comment about what title or date I had entered,  so much so that I was thinking of reporting him to the administrators for cyber bullying.

You can go back and read all his posts and see where he started making comments to every posting subject line I had in this month's thread.

SO, I thought I'd see what snide remark he would put in there if I put that "Bill hates galaxy in the diner" line in there.

It appears, that even when a user-moderator { Stourbridge Lion} puts in a subject line not of wetidlerjr's  liking, Mr. wetidlerjr has to change it too. Apparently he has nothing better to do than to sit and wait for people to publish a subject line that is different from what he likes to pounce and change it to his liking.

This should explain it and perhaps Mr. wetidlerjr will now STOP and cease his intimidating actions.

Here I sit fat, dumb and happy, and corrected by wetidlerjr.Tongue Tied

Hey guys

Sitting at college, printing out stuff for the portfolio review in my class. I've spent the day trying to hunt down the guy who I hired to do some paint/decal work a few years back. I've messaged him, but nothing back yet. Hopefully I'm not out on 2 locos and my patched CB&Q SD24 shell...

Maxman, it's still the same thread. Some people change the name. I never do because I usually use quick reply.

Ulrich, Where are you at. I came back, would be nice if you did too.

Anytime someone changes the "Subject" line in their post makes it look different depending on how you look at things.  I set my Subject line to "Elliott's Trackside Diner - April 2012" so it will look semi-normal again...

Maxman .... You are welcome in the diner anytime regardless of what goofy title is displayed!

Galaxy ..... Did you write that title?

Ulrich ... We have not seen you lately and are concerned.

John Boy ... Sounds like you had a great job!

On the layout, I am completing my building for a food and beverage wholesale company.

On the home front. It was Shelley's birthday yesterday, and I offered to take her to Paris to celebrate. I don't know why she declined. Paris, TN is a nice town with a restaurant serving very good bakery scrumptious goodies.

Happy Model Railroading!

Afternoon folks!

Chloe I'll have a cup of Hot Chocolate to take the chill off...

I have been doing some more trackwork for the layout, and a bunch of errands today.  Got my6 hearing aids adjusted this afternoon...  Much, much better!  No longer clipping, made the "auto" setting usable, and eliminated the 60 Hz hum on the T-cell setting.  Also gave me a small magnet to put on the phone that will help kick it over to T-cell when I want to use the phone.  I had him set the right ear to a very low setting replacing the T-cell in THAT ear.  I use my Left ear for talking on the phone when I have to anyway.

Just got home from 84 Lumber where I bought two 1" x 6" Oak boards to use for the shelves where staging will be.  That just used up the hobby money for the month....  Actually I have overspent the budget for hobby stuff even before buying the boards!

Have a meeting to go to tonight so I won't get much more time today on the layout.  Have just a week before the handicapped troop comes over to visit.  I need to be able to move trains from the finished side of the layout to the new area by then or their won't be any trains running.

Catch you all later!

Whistling

Good Afternoon Crew,

Chloe,  A very tall cool RBF for your favorite Guy today, Please.

Well it must be getting closer to the real SPRING today.

I just had the guys in to do the roto-raking and vacuuming the back lawn which is quite large. We have no front lawn, it is all driveway.  I have the mower in the garage and changing it's oil , sharpening the blade and cleaning out the crud from under it's deck.  Should be good to go in a few minutes. It's warm enough that I've broke into a good sweat so I came in here for a drink and a short sit me down as I am an Ol' Phart, doncha know ??

Have to go in to work for three hours tonight, so I guess I should get this preliminary yard work caught up and things put away.  I did get the snow blower prepared for storage and out into the shed for the summer. It usually has a place of honor in my garage most of the year..

CURT,  We really like your pics of your visit to the museum.  A couple of years ago we did ride the Seminole Dinner Train out of Fort Myers, Fl.  And last fall we rode the Ozark Central out of Branson  Mo.

Then back in '73' I got to ride the White Pass & Yukon Route all the way from Whitehorse Yukon to Skagway, Alaska.  What a great trip that was and I highly recommend everybody get to ride those rails at least once in your lifetime.   Thumbs UpThumbs Up

In the far past, I have ridden the Canadian from Thunder Bay to Vancouver and then again from Calgary to Regina.   Then many times I have put tour groups that had spent several days with me touring the Rockies onto the Rocky Mountaineer in Jasper to finish their tour by Rail to Vancouver and then I would deadhead the coach back to Calgary for another group to do it again.

Well enough chawing for now, better get back at it.  The rest of the afternoon will go fast enough.

Nice to see ya' all, and have a great rest of the day.

Will try to check back in from work tonight.

It will be about bedtime for Ulrich and Petra, hope all is well with them.

Good afternoon

Errands run to the post office to complain aobut mis-directed and mis-delivered mail YET AGAIN, to get new gel insert for my CPAP machine mask, to Inlaws, and a few other things accomplished.

Boy, the Post Office is almost forcing me to consider online banking/bill paying. We got our Auto insurance bill finally yestrerday marked "P.O. CHeck Address!"..and it WAS correctly addressed. Then last week we got a neighbor bringing us our Home insurance declaration/bill. I went into the agent's office and paid both last week, knowing they were due. Then I got mangled letter last week also. PO is not holding up its end of the bargain very well! WE ahve a new mail lady apparently our guy retired? I wonder what else we are nto getting? Or what is being sent out is getting there in one piece?

Tried to access a  new Hawaiian music site, but they have exceeded their allowable bandwidth. They were just on PBS so probably a lot of people went hunting for them! An excellent 1 hour of programming including John Lennon's "Imagine" in the Hawaiian language.

Have headache setting in and back killing me due to rain we are getting.

Well, WE ahve an extra special prayer candle up for Curt's Request.

Well, here I sit, fat dumb and happyWink

Curt: Glad to hear you friends mother is doing better.

Good morning. It's 68° and partly cloudy. The high will be 78°.

Went to my parents place this morning. Got some laundry (mine) done and got my mother her breakfast. A little cereal (Kashi and Cheerios), three strawberries each cut in six pieces, five green grapes and five red grapes, each cut into thirds, half a small glass of milk. Only thing I've had this morning is a small handful of peanuts. That's going to change soon as it's coming up on lunchtime. Don't know what I'll have yet but it'll be much more substantial than peanuts. No particular layout plans today. If I get around to digging the things I need out of the closet, if I'm not hurting too bad, I'll possibly dress up the abandoned siding a bit. It looks fair with old steamer and the rust bucket baggage car but it needs some weeds, bits of junk and whatever else I can find to go there. I can only stand for about ten minutes at a time so it'll likely take a while to do. I'll be going back to my parents house this afternoon when the home health nurse comes around.

Morning All,

At w**k again today. Thank you to everyone for your prayers. Her mother's pupils are now reacting. They plan on completing the hypothermia protocol at 3 PM today and then start to check for Neurological deficits. Co-workers are picking up her shifts at work and I took her Friday shift. Well got to go. Talk to you later.

Hi Zoe, just a go-cup please. Thanks!

Have been peeking in the window and sorta keeping up (Curt, sent you a PM) until I have time to write one of my 'brief' posts... Smile, Wink & Grin

Last week was my 7-in-a-row week at w**k (3 days in office, next two evenings plus Sat. & Sunday on-call). Got busier that we usually do on Saturday and Sunday, but yesterday I was off (w**k, that is...), so I could rest up.

Have some more boxcars and flatcars/pulpwood cars at the P.O. (per USPS's tracking page), so will pick those up. Need a few more to join Lee's Freight Cars Anonymous group, y'know...Whistling

Back later, maybe this evening after w**k. Prayers continue for those needing them (a bunch of us). AngelAngel

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape G.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of Buttermilk Pancakes, Pure maple syrup,  side order of bacon, and lots of dark roast coffee to start the day.

Sun is trying to peek through this morning here in the Finger Lakes.  Temp. outside is at 42°F, the high for today.

Curt, my prayers for your co-worker's Mom and her family.

Have an appointment this afternoon to get the new hearing aids adjusted late this afternoon.  Hope he can get them to stop clipping every time somebody rustles paper or I am running water in the sink......

Also need to do some shopping at the Value Center (Do mIt Best) here in Geneva to get some Oak boards for the staging/display on the layout.

Later!
