Being a software IT person by trade, I find the software that runs this forum very poor.  I see software bugs everyday and I wish we could use something else like vBulletin instead; but, that's not my call.

Today I was running the H24-66 and I found I was quite annoyed with not being able to see much of the detail on the trucks as they were jet black. So I made a small change. I painted them. The color is a satin latex called 'Shining Armor'.

Moaning all, start of a nice short w*rk week.

Got caught up in a high speed police pursuit yesterday (I wasn't driving, just passing me.) Not once or twice but three times. A 19yr Old and some alleged 'gang' members knocked off a BMW X5 and Z4 and took it hooning all over Brisbane. The Police have a strict policy with pursuits here in QLD though so the vehicles were more like tailing from a safe distance. They let the NEWS helicopters do the tailing from the air. Another tick in the box to get a Police chopper in Brisbane, a city of 2 million and we don't have one. The X5 came whizzing by me at a rate of probably 130mph, I took the next exit off the motorway and here he was coming in the opposite direction with 10 Police cars coming behind him.

They were eventually caught in a suburban shopping centre, the Dog squad caught up to the main driver and had him cornered. They have a list of charges longer than the Mississippi. Dunce It seems easter brought out the crazies, we had a chase through my suburb saturday, a pursuit resulting in a guy getting shot in the leg sunday and then the chase monday! I swear it was like LA over the weekend. Blindfold

In other news my mother turns 48 today. My sister and I went to IKEA (she loves it!) to pick up a gift card, we put $100 on it. I ended up buying a few items as well. Some nice laminex shelves with brackets for $10. Handy to set some rolling stock down on, or some cricket trophies! I still don't like the place, though the $1 hot dogs are nice...

Jeff : thoughts with you for your mother.

Anywho best get back to w*rk.

Time to call it a night. I painted the trucks of my H24-66 this morning and liked the effect so much I did the same with my two SDP40F's. Now if you look at the two locos you'll see they're different in several very important aspects. The most obvious is the trucks.

505A has Flexicoil C2L C-C trucks.

505B has A1A-A1A Blomberg trucks.

Good night.

Evenin' Folks!

Janie, just a cup of decaf and a seat by the stove for a bit.

Blood sugar was sky high again tonight....  People just had to go and give me a whole pile of Easter Candy yesterday, so I just had to eat way too much of it today.  A year ago I wasn't taking my sugar readings so now I know I can't do THAT any more (Eating the candy, not taking the readings....  I'm glad I do that now.).

Feels good to have a mouse for the computer that actually works correctly.  I was able to get a lot done today because i wasn't trying to find the lost documents.........

Spent most of today getting the clinic done for Saturday.  Tomorrow I will reread it over, check it thoroughly for spelling and grammatical errors and print out 50 copies of it.  Eight pages long so it will use a bit of ink I'm afraid.  Has a lot of photos too.  I did get most of another turnout made also.  Little by little I'm getting there.

Tomorrow I get my new hearing aids!  Be glad to get them and be done.  I do hope they can help me hear better.  Had the check cut this morning, so I'm all set.  Time will tell!

Jeffrey, that is good news about your mother.  Hope she continues to make progress and gets to feeling better very soon.

Galaxy, I'm keeping you all in my prayers.........

Barry, sounds like your friend will recover!  Sorry to hear of the Musician Friend.

Have a great night!

Good Morning All,

Tom, the new car sounds great but does it bless you when you sneeze?

Curt, I’m glad you liked them.  I stripped and painted 8 single door boxcars over the weekend and haven’t gotten back to pouring molds the new molds, maybe this weekend.

Jeff, thoughts and prayers for your Mom, sounds horrible.  If she is hungry it’s a good sign.

Galaxy, I hope she is feeling better.

Good Morning

Got a phonecall from friend's wife..he is doing a lot better this morning..she is up there and we are going up there this afternoon!! Great news there!

We sent condolences to the musician friend's family...the children are going to be looked after by their one aunt there....both play as well so the studio he set up is probably going to go with them to the new house..aunt thinks it should stay with them...still don't have a clue as to what happened with him though...

Today, besides visiting I'll be working on my layout and hopefully get some of it done...hah! Like that is going to happen!!Laugh

Have a great day!!!Big Smile

Amen Sue, it was pretty wet here too!

Good morning. It's 67° and partly cloudy. The high will be 85° and there's a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

I don't know what was going on last night but I was quite dizzy for a while not to mention disoriented. I feel OK now. I have no idea about what I'm going to do today. Maybe I'll paint the trucks on the GP9 Frankenlocos as a start.

Morning All,

Well I'm supposed to be at w**k today but I had some GI issues last night causing no sleep so I called off today. I guess I'm a slacker. I may have to go back on Thursday to the second part of the union arbitration that I was a part of months ago but won't know until Wednesday.

Galaxy- I hope your MIL is doing well.

Jeff- I'm glad your Mom appears to be doing better. I like the painted trucks.

Oz Jim- I'm glad you made it out of the police chase safely.

Barry- We had no candy in the house this year. I'm glad your friend is doing better. I missed what happened to your musician friend but am sorry your friend passed away.

Everyone take care.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of Buttermilk pancakes, real maple syrup, and a side order of bacon this morning.  Oh, yes, I want my usual dark roast coffee.  Put it in my FGLK mug please.

Currently 46°F under cloudy skies.  High today will only be 49F with some liquid sunshine possible this afternoon.  Tonight we may even have something called flurries......  No accumulation as it will not get below freezing.

I will be spending most of today getting materials finished and printed for the NMRA Meet next Saturday.  I also finally got a current membership list and see we have some new members in the Division...  I need to get in touch with each new member today to welcome them to the Division and get them up to speed on what we have going on!

Catch you all later!

Good Afternoon Gang!

A wet and unpleasant day - at least in terms of the weather we are enjoying over here.

Flo, a cup of dark roast and a doughnut, please.

My Swiss friend seems to finalize the sale of his wonderful BLS layout (which I had designed, that´s why it is wonderful Laugh), so I spent quite some time today to exchange ideas on his new, Rhaetian Railway themed layout.

As he wants something more simple than before, it is nothing more than a simple oval with a station (RhB Ospizio Bernina) and a staging yard. The layout will live of the breathtaking scenery this guy is able to create.

Here is the final plan:

Tracks in the station match the prototype location, with only a slight selective compression of the length.

Here is a prototype picture of the place:

Jeff - I am glad to hear your mother is doing a little better.

Continuing Angel for all in need!

Stay safe!

Nice looking layout plan Ulrich. Sometimes it's best to keep it simple. Less is more.

On my own layout the track is more or less a folded dog bone single track line with five dead end spurs for parking locos and rolling stock and there are two through sidings. One I use as a loco ready track while the other is the through line. Only one turnout (the one hardest to reach) is electrically operated. The others are manual requiring me to get up to switch them. So I get some exercise while I run the trains.

Well I got good news on my mothers condition. She's doing much better, is sitting up on her own and issuing a long string of insults and complaints about the food. She may be moved back to a regular room today. My father went to see her this morning. He took her a grilled cheese sandwich and some chips and a bottle of grapefruit juice. She tied into that!

I may go with him to see her tomorrow. That depends on how I feel in the morning. If I have another bout of dizzy spells like I did last night the answer will be no. My father was trying to tell me it could have been fumes from the paint I was using to paint the loco trucks. Latex paint!? Come on, get real! About the only way it could hurt me is if I drank it or inhaled it in mist form.

***Same here. The ground is still oozing water more than I can remember since moving here. Looks like this will be the best Fruit tree production so far for my little orchard. Sure beats cold weather or a drought.

Coffee in a SUNNY SOUTHERN mug, please.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob ps: seems I may have fractured a little toe last night. Hours of ice, 1 ibuprofen, and wrapped securely. Not about to spend $$$ on a Doc to do what I can myself. Will be an interesting day/week ahead. Thought I had crutches somewhere but haven't found any. No biggie!

Sounds just like my mom! You know they are on the way of recovery when they start complaining about the hospital food. I had to bring my mom a bottle of Beer (alcohol-free, though) as she was tired to drink water or tea. The Doc was not unhappy about it Smile, Wink & Grin

If you look at the prototype picture of "Ospizio Bernina", my friend won´t have to build a lot of trees for his layout. At 7403 ft. above sea level, there are not many growing there.
