 Morning Folks

 Flo, Lemonade Please.

 Cake Happy Birthday Sue! Gift

Slept in late and I have to be in at 12:00 today.

Wedding Aftermath I knew this was going to happen and told Sue she should not be in the wedding. She can hardly walk today and is having to use a cane. I feel real bad for her, but I sure cannot call in to work today! She has really bummed up her right knee this time.

 See you later, Ken

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have the breakfast buffet this morning.  Just bring me a cup of dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug please.

Johnboy says you are 21 again....????  I heard something about it being #39?  Whatever number it is may you have a wonderful birthday!

Somebody get the soap!  I heard Galaxy using some really nasty language totally unfit for a classy dinner like we have here!  What?  Oh it was THAT really bad one.  You know 4 letter variety, the one THAT starts with "W"!  Foul Mouth....Whistling

The sun is busy shining here in the Finger Lakes today.  The temperature outside the door is at 33°F this morning and on it's way down to around 22°F tonight.  Very, very bad news for the fruit farmers here in Central NY.  NYS is a major supplier of Apples, Cherries, and stone fruits for the country.  Apple and Cherry trees have already started to blossom.  They can stand a couple hours of below freezing temperatures without harm, but 22° may be over the line.  Unlike the citrus growers in the south, they have little equipment to prevent the disaster from happening.....  What we are having today is normal March weather.  The trees normally blossom 3 to 4 weeks from now.

TSF, my heart goes out to you for the loss of Duke!  Always hard to lose a pet.  I keep thinking of the truth in one of the signs my FIL used to have on his porch.  "The more I deal with people, the more I like my dog!"

Ulrich, I spent much of thew day yesterday at the train show assembling part of a Tichy Train Group flat car.  Even with the magnifying visor, it was difficult to add some of the tiny little parts......  "z" scale?  I doubt I could even get the cars railed on the track without help.  Hang in there, mein Freund!

Have to get started on the MLK financial report today (meeting tomorrow), do a bit of shopping, and light the wood stove!

Later!

edit - I see I have the top of the page, so order up my friends!

Extra strong coffee in a  AZER  mug, please.

***Johnboy, having both HOrribly oversized and iNvisible scale trains, kind of wish I only had the HO now. Afraid the N will far outslast my eye's abillity to work with it. But have come to far not to carry on with both. Heck, sometimes O starts looking better and better these days. Z would be entirely to small for me, too.

***Ulrich, looks like a good track plan to me. Plenty to keep your trains busy. Yes

Have a great day, all.

Looks to be an N Scale 'torpedo tube' GP7 or GP9 likely made by Atlas. If it's a larger model somebody kitbashed they did a darn good job on it.

Good Moaning folks.

I just sent an email to kalmbach customer service, as I'm still waiting (patiently) for my April issue to arrive. I note the May issue is now the cover shown on the website. Sad

Happy B Day Sue,mine is today also, got two NS HH SD40-2's running today, will need to go to the LHS next week to get more scale Kadee's because the #5's looks to big on the pilotless 40-2's,and will use the #5's on boxcars because on that type of car they look better,to me anyway,so far its been a great day.

Hey guys

Sue- Happy birthday.

Jeff- The hopper cars look good

Well, I am trying to get used to Duke having passed on, I greatly appreciate the condolences. House was quiet until my sister's dog (Ok, not really her dog) Lucky started carrying on. No constant thumping from Duke's tail. It's going to get better I know.

Thanks for letting me know that I can talk to you guys about whatever is on my mind.

Spent the day after school working outside. Took a friend's well truck that my dad and I are working on, dropped off some pipe that was on it, and borrowed a lawn mower to cut grass. Got a call from my dad, had to pick up his truck from the train station in Manhattan and had to have my mom to pick him up from the train station in Joliet. Hope tomorrow goes better

No worries, we live far enough away to not be worried about the fire itself; the smoke through is pouring into the city as there are now several fires have broken out.  My thoughts to those who are seriously in harms way...

A large plume of smoke can be seen in the southern foothills of Denver near Roxborough and Conifer. (Helen H. Richardson, The Denver Post)

What scale is it?

I better solve the riddle - it is Z scale! I could not believe my eyes when I found this on a German Z scale forum. It is a MTL kitbashed GP 9. What a wonderful job! The first picture is actually a little larger than the real model.

Just poking my head in the door for a brief stop before I head for home (long day at w**k, we'll leave it at that...)

Sue - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Cake

MARK - my bad! Oops Apologies, and can I blame it on being in the later part of the evening? (No?) I think your band sounds cool (even if I couldn't spell a lot of those instruments, either)!

TSF, sorry to hear of your furry friend Duke's passing, Sad but I hope you will come (at some time) to doing as Ken, and remembering the good and the fun times with Duke. For now, know that our hearts are with you in this time. AngelAngel

Garry, thanks for the compliment on the buildings. I need to get where I can make signs efficiently on my computer and printer (which will help me finish some of those buildings I have part-way done).

Jeff, making good w**k on programming your locos, and excellent job on the billboard there! Thumbs Up

Lee, just like you to actually know what you're doing there (unlike, say...myself)Whistling Hey, how about posting a tutorial on what to do (or not) for resin casting? I, for one, would like to see that one!

Ulrich, for what it's worth, we've been having some thick fog in the mornings here lately (0.3 miles of visibility for a couple of days). Our weather folks say it's because we are having a more settled weather pattern (no fronts in particular moving through...). Hope your pain decides to take a vacation - somewhere else! I like your changes to your Z scale layout design, too. Thumbs Up

Galaxy, sure wish you could get your sleep lately (as I am sure that you would like to)!

Darren, your area may not be the only one looking at possible dry conditions come summer (unless we get some sn*w/ra*n between now and then (and if we get the white stuff, it may play havoc with our fruit crops here). Ouch! As you said, already starting in your area!

Johnboy, I'm with you (and Rob) about smaller scales than HO being hard on the eyes...(mine, anyway). Yeah Hey, can your wife charge for some of the folks wanting her to make cakes for them? Maybe you could help her, and split some of the proceeds (MRR'ing funds?). Wink

Ken, sorry to hear about your wife's knee(s) today. Hopefully she will actually stay off her feet and heal/rest up.

Ulrich, on that SP Geep, I'd say whoever did the diorama scenicking did extremely well (and particularly if that is Z scale (or even N scale)!

Russell, Happy B-Day to you, also! Hope you had a great one!

About time for me to zip on out of here for home. W**k awaits tomorrow morning. Sigh I'm awaiting Thursday and Friday, when I'm out of the office (and might get to get back to those buildings some more).

AngelAngel for comfort, healing and good night's rest for you Diners (and some well-needed rain for Darren's area).

Blessings,

Jim in Cape G.

 Evening Folks!

 Flo, Beer Please

Work Front Well the phones went CrAzY Today. And what I mean is they would ring, you could not answer them, would turn them self to speaker mode when no one was there and hang up on you when you where trying to dial out. Boy I hope they get them fixed by Tuesday! It was not just our store but nation wide.

Only good thing about work was Neil took me out to a Sushi Bar for lunch. Tried some sushi (have no idea what it was, Neil picked it out) and it was not half bad. Then I filled up on shrimp and mushrooms.

Well I am beat and will drop by Tuesday before work.

Howdy .....

Darren ... I hate to see those fires, and I hope they are bought under control quickly.

JimCG ... You're welcome. Keep up the good work.

Rob ... How's that "sports car" doing?

Russell .... Happy B'day.

Sue ... I already said happy b'day, but I'll now add I hope it was good.

Ulrich .. I saw your post, and was going to guess Z scale because you have been dabbling in that. That is a nice model..... Also, I hope your health is okay now.

I was in N scale for a brief period myself, but I prefer HO.

In the news I heard form VP Cheney had a hear transplant, and I hope he does well with that. I also have congestive heart failure as he did, and I have been told if it gets worse I'll need a transplant. I'm definately not looking forward to that. Meanwhile, I'm very pleased to say my treatment is keeping it from worsening, and I am leading a close to normal life. I'm very happy about that.

Have a good one, as Jerry says...........

Good Morning All,

Jim, Rule #1: have a perfectly level work surface. Rule#2: never try to answer the phone or scratch your nose while working with self vulcanizing silicone, clean up gets real ugly real fast.  Rule#3: never be in a hurry but hurry every chance you get.  I will see about making a picture log, a movie would be boring since there is 30 minutes to 4 hours between processes.  Maybe a slide show.  What should I cast?

Todd, I cut my grass last Tuesday and it was about 8” high.  Sunday I cut my grass and it had grown 4” in 8 days.  Its going to be a long summer if this keeps up.  Last summer it rained 5 days a week on average so I never really got to enjoy my yard I was always cutting it.  I should have torn it all up and planted rice.

Good morning, Chloe. I didn't realize how many friends that I have here in the diner.  A quick coffee and off to the pool.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Ulrich, Jeff, Barry, Johnboy, Ken, Ray Gabe, Russell, TSF, & Jim.  Had birthday lunch yesterday, and one of my climbing friends gave me a bottle of wine last night at the rockgym.  Today another birthday lunch, and things settle back down I hope.

Johnboy,  Larry teases me for hanging out with you guys, but if he wants something researched, he has me do it because I usually get responses and he doesn't.

Russell, Happy belated birthday.Cake  Thanks for sharing the day with me.  Did you get any new MR stuff?

Good Morning Modelers...

Here is the latest news; the largest of the fires which broke out around 5:30PM grew from 15 acres to 3,000+ acres in a matter of hours do to strong winds.  They evacuated 900+ homes already and were fighting the fire from the ground only yesterday do to the winds but I believe I heard an air assault started this morning now that the winds have slowed down.  There are several other fires that have broken out all across the front range as yesterday our humidity dropped to 5% and with no snow/rain now for nearly a month it didn't take much to start them.  Smoke in the city is not as bad this morning.

My thought go out to those impacted and still in harms way this morning...
