Hey Flip, think we have most of the same cars! They are differently numbered. The ones I got Saturday are 27021,22,24. Also have 20051, and 2 27400 ,one will be renumbered .

4F and clear. Colder than my luck at Powerball!

Got the GN boxcars and 2 of the cabeese weighted, couplers adjusted and wheelsets swapped out last night.I kinda like those Intermountain wheelsets. I've never used them before. They look great and roll very well!

Today will be another train day. Have a good one!

Good morning. It's 27° and mostly cloudy. That high will be 48°.

It's a nice 68° inside the trailer this morning. I have no plans for going out anywhere today. The cold has made my foot more sensitive than usual and just moving it is painful. In fact just having the boot on loosely hurts, tightening it is agonizing, so after I sit down I just take it off then I'm somewhat comfortable. Blood sugar was 72 when I checked it and I'm sure it's lower now so I'll be preparing a meal that'll punch it way up before I take my meds. If I take the meds now things could get ugly fast so I'll hold off and take them after I eat. I'll be resting as much as possible today. The work I did on the van yesterday has left me sore in some places. If my doc saw me doing that he'd have been all over me about it. But if I didn't do it it wasn't going to get done. I hope the rest of you have good luck with your daily activities and I have plenty of good wishes and prayer for those dealing with family, physical and mental problems.

Have a good day.

Morning All,

Flo cold I just get a refill on the coffee please? MOH made biscuits, gravy and sausage for breakfast. Did I ever mention that she is a good Southern woman?

I may start my next 2 projects by ripping up track and prepping the area. I won't have the turnouts until the last week in Feb so I have plenty of time to prep the 2 areas. I have to be at work at 5 PM today. Wednesday I'm taking my Dad out to lunch for his Bday.

Jeff- That was a nice layout pic last night. This morning I saw the car with the bird on it, but the angle makes it hard to see the end. Are those baby birds or something else?

Garry- I'm thinking of you and hope you have no issues with your pacemaker before the scheduled surgery.

Keith- Sorry for your financial situation, but the hotel sounds like a great idea and I wish you the best with it.

Everyone take care.

Extra strong coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

Has warmed up to 27F so far. Still tuckered out, but probably need to break ice for the barn critters.

Have a good day all.

Keith is back!  Way Too Happy

Good to see, you, Keith. My son in law in AZ also has an El Camino he would like to restore.  I'm impressed with what you said about the engine in yours, and would be more impressed if I was next to you at a traffic signal.

Flip .... I know what you mean about repeated numbers on our model box cars, etc. I would think there would be a prcess to rotate between various numbers when the car is manufactured.

Terry ... I have used repalcement wheels from Intermountain and other brands. They roll nicely of course. Sometimes too well if you wish to palce a freight car by itself on a grade.

Curt ... Thanks for commenting. My device also has a defrillator which re-started my heart 6 time in 2008. It really is a lifesaver.

Traffic certainly is light now as we head east from here on US 68 with the bridge out on KY Lake. I don't know what they will do. New bridges for each lake are awaiting funding because these are 1930's era bridges which are not very safe.

Jeff, I would imagine that you know this,  but that is a model of an actual tag job.

I saw it in a magazine several years back and it was really a work of art.

Can you remember any more of the story about it ?  If I remember right I think they thought it had been done in Texas. but I could be wrong about that..

Very nice piece though.

Hope you get back up to speed soon,  Take care.

I can't forget a big and hearty WELCOME BACK to Flip and Keith.   We missed you guys.

Good Morning!! Coffee and the Sunday Breakfast buffet please. Thanks.

Sunny, with a high near 31.

Hm. I take it I missed something? Who took the pie this time. PM me. I’m nosey.

Stove will be here Wednesday……sometime from 0830 until…..well until they get here. They don’t stop until they are done (his words, not mine). Due to the other items they will have to possibly install he’s sorry but they just have no idea how long each stop may take. Believe it or not someones “easy, no problem locations” are much more involved when carrying a refrigerator. “Well, I thought it would fit through the door”. They will give a 30 minute heads up before they come out realizing that sitting all day in a house waiting may end up requiring a quick trip somewhere and sure enough that’s when the truck will arrive. They are pretty nice and straight foreward about it. We bought our fridge we just replaced from them 17 years ago and never regretted it. Hey, 5/10 year warranty on all appliances is worth something at no extra charge. That’s 5 year parts and labor on everything and for the stove/oven, 10 years on the heating elements. Yup labor too. They also have a service department so it’s a call and they come out and fix it, shake your hand and say have a good day. We never had to call them on the refrigerator, but others say they are good at their warranty.

Jeff- I assumed the new switch would have been a button, but I guess you wouldn’t want to just keep your finger on a siren button for as long as you’d have that thing running at times. No not really. I was thinking of that honking horn thing you have. You know the one that makes people for blocks look to see what the heck that was. I assumed it had a button.

Jim- I sure hope things get better on the w**k front. Sounds like some very unfare things are happening. As for the shift, well, let’s just say the appliances are….collateral damage to the check book due to the change in appearance of the floors. Casualties of war so to speak.

Flip- Good to see you again. Don’t feel bad. It’s about time for me to bring in a picture of Toddland (of which I’m king) to give all those with issues about their own little kingdoms a blast of “well now I feel a whole lot better”.

Ray- I see you cleaned the w**bench up a little for the photo. I think this time I actually see apiece of the top. Or is that why you built the other one? Just decided it was easier to start over with another?Laugh

Curt- There is a reason Ray uses that old piano. It has sides. No runoff. Laugh

Garry- Been looking at Terry’s fine layout and thinking, gee, you and him could have a long distance operating session.

KEITH!!!- Man it’s good to hear from you. I do recall you started to have some issues when you were last in, but then there was some weather or earthquake or something and I began to fear…well, we won’t go into that. Glad you’re back and doing well. Also congrats and, on behalf of others who travel with their little four legged family members, thanks for joining up with the “pet friendly” hotels. It is greatly appreciated.

Ulirich- Too bad we never really know who our friends are until…..all that is left is friendship.

Ken- Yes I saw it. I don't always get a chance to pop in during the day. Usually it's just during the morning before my day begins, or like this morning, when I get a chance. Anyway, I have to w**k Friday at 4:30 of course, so let me know what time you’ll be here and we can work something out.

Welp, looks like I’ve rambled enough so back to grouting. Didn’t do a darn thing on the room yesterday. I was a bad boy.Embarrassed Mischief

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

I really don't know any more about it. I had seen the actual car a couple of times then found the decal in the LHS. However by the time I got around to using it the decal had degraded and wasn't usable. I scanned it and made a copy. Not the same quality but it got the job done.

Well being the control unit is to the right of the steering wheel and I have only one right hand it made sense to use a locking switch to turn the power from the ignition switch on and off. Below is a photo of the front of the control unit. On the right is the button for the horn. On the left is the on/off switch for the ignition wire. Right now it's in the on position. When the engine is started it'll be flipped down to the off position so there'll be no random starter activation when the shifter is moved.

Gogo no hitobito!

Toasted Ham and Cheese and a cup of decaf please...  Thank you Chloe!

Didn't get in here this morning as I was running late to dig out and get to church on time.  Had to be there today, my #1 granddaughter was singing in the children's choir during the anthem today!  After she got done she came over to sit with her parents, but climbed over and gave "Papa" (me) a big hug first....  She was very proud of herself!

We got a total of 2 + inches of light and fluffy overnight and it is still flurrying off and on.  I will likely fire up the gas burner and make an attempt to clean the driveway before heading over to my son's house for dinner tonight.  It will blow right back in while I'm gone.......Huh?

PA Tom, Justice and Integrity!  Not enough of those concepts out there today.... (Never have been either!)

Todd, your humor and mine are very much of the same variety! Thumbs UpLaugh

Have a great day all!

Jeff- AH! I see what you've done. Myself, I was thinking of using a completely different circuit to start. Basically running a hot wire to the starter relay and push button to start. What you've done is just run a block and switched power to the original circuit when you want it and you still use the key to start, yes?

Barry- I was trying to avoid the word "landslide" Laugh Maybe cascade?
