FLOOR WARS update. As usual, the last thing to do before completion of a project is what will screw up and I did it. Cross threaded the brass nut on the water shut off valve for the toilet. Rookie mistake, I used a wrench too soon and well, we all know what happens when you do that. The original installer was a putty hound and I thought maybe the reason it wouldn’t thread easily was because it had some goopy in the threads. Wrong. Trip to town to get another valve because the one I have of course is a 90 and I need a straight.
Galaxy- At least it’s not the Other Half that has to go against the GM.
Rob- I know it’s a money issue that you don’t have, but in my experience, sometimes the tear it up and fix it kinda backfires if you know what I mean.
Ray- I’m with you on the trees. I’ve cut down more than my share of trees and to this day, each one makes me as nervous as the first. That is a good thing really. Like you, no matter how I cypher it out, occasionally there is one that will make you…..well, let’s say at first you say it…then you check your pants to see if you actually did it. I can cut trees all day long, but I won’t get as many done as some. My buddy is the same way and when it comes to big trees, we get in no hurry. Better to cut them all slowly, than to cut one or two and not be able to cut any more. That's one reason he likes to cut trees with me.
Lee- Good luck there. I’m really trying to come up with something witty, but, I’m gonna guess you won’t be in the mood. Especially when it passes. I think I’ll just not and say I did.
J.R.- Good thing you mentioned that. I may have to wheel it to the kitchen and use those outlets. They’re 20 amp. The Living Room is 15. Probably will do it no more than the compressor kicks on, but it’s about 30 years old and runs like a top, but it’s never been on anything less than 20 amp line so I don't know. Guess I oughta check what it pulls

howmus I got a nice response to the nastygram I sent to Walthers a few days ago. I placed an order with them only because they had a part in stock I need to keep going on the powerhouse.... Guess what didn't get shipped. All the other thing I bought came but not the one I absolutely needed. Got an email today apologizing saying the parts had just arrived and were in the process of being put in stock but were not yet on the shelf when i placed the order. They now have a small stock of them and do I want them to ship them out with no shipping charge? I answered in the affirmative! Hope you all have a great night! 73

LION sent nasty-grams to Dell. Now LION generally does not buy Dell Computers, but this one guy had to have a laptop (away in seminary and all). Six years and his battery was dying. Do you think that you can find a battery on the Dell website? No you cannot. There should be a link on the homepage or at least in the support drop-down saying "Batteries" On that page you should enter your service tag and be presented with THE battery for THAT computer. Nope.... They do not do things that way, and eventually I hooked up with support chat who got the battery that I needed. They THEN sent me an automated message on how I liked their service!!!
No wonder I buy all of my stuff from Tiger Direct, where I have a representative who will answer her e-mails within a few minutes. Of course I do buy LOTS of computers from them, and if you need help a representative (in Ohio, speaking English) will answer your call without too many automated hoops. If they cannot fix something immediately, my account representative surely will!
BTW: French Toast for Breakfast with some nice fresh wildebeest syrup.

LION is (among other things) an RN. Pain meds really do work better if you take them before the pain gets really bad. We don't need you hooked on them, and you can use the Acetaminophen (Tylenol) more frequently, then maybe you do not need to take the Oxycodine at all.
We will send Bushy Lion to you. He works better than pills anyway.

You have a tractor, does it have a loader? If you have a helper, perhaps a neighbor, you can install him and a chain saw in the bucket and lift him to the top of the tree and start cutting off pieces there. No chance of him falling or the tree falling on him.

Lee, I do hope you can pass the little bugger.... Sounds like you have had problems before! My first stone hit me when I was visiting my oldest son in Maryland. He was working at the Conowingo Dam fish lift. Snacked on a can of mixed nuts he had laying around, got myself a bit dehydrated and just as we were leaving to go over to the dam, it hit me. I ended up driving 300 miles home while passing the stone. I almost stopped several times to find a hospital on the way home, but each time the pain would subside and I went on. I passed it after I got home on my way to the emergency room. They asked for a sample and "plop" there it was..... The emergency room doc grinned and acted very upset they would not be able to do the dye contrast x-ray and all.... He couldn't believe I drove 300 miles with the pain! He did say the vibrations from driving probably helped me pass it. Good luck!

LEE, I work at two different places One kind of regularly and the other about twice a month.
There are fellas that I work with at both places who have been plagued with kidney stones over the years and they both are high in praise of lemon juice. They both consume large glasses of lemonade daily and they report that from this their K. stone attacks have stopped.
Maybe something this simple with the increased acidity might dissolve the calcium and cure the problem as long as your stomach can handle the lemonade.

Took the strings of a hay bale and scraped it down to about 1/3rd normal size before trying to take it out to the pasture. Mud was so deep it grabbed the bale off the rear fork. Didn't realize I'd lost the bale until out at the hay ring. Went back and barely got it out of the mud. Serious mud fest out there. Might need a load of rocks if it gets any worse.

Tillie *did* take down that tree, and she didn't need any chainsaw to do it. I had cut the wire that held the cine to the column, and it leaned over. She went up, and it broke off. Down came the vine and one surprised little cat!

Good evening. It's 55° and cloudy. Looking for it to be 50° tonight with a 40% chance of rain increasing to 75% by sunrise.Took my mother to Alexandria this morning for her medical appointment. I hadn't been to the hospital there in so long I forgot where it was. Finally found it by crossing through the side streets. The place has so many up and down slanted corridors I frequently thing it was designed and built by a committee that studied the absolute worst in architecture. I got her to her her appointment on time. We were there for a whole thirty minutes before she was called in then sent back out twenty minutes later with a couple of prescriptions. From there we found our way back to the parking garage (parked on second floor). You have to go up to the fourth floor to find the exit ramp back to the first floor. Top of the exit ramp was blocked by a disabled car so we had to turn around and go back to the bottom on the entry ramp against traffic. That was interesting. Finally got out of there. We went to Applebee's for lunch. We both had BBQ ribs with fries and fried mozzarella sticks with ranch dressing. From there over to Kroger. I was pretty sore by then from all the walking I had done so I stayed in the car. While she was inside picking out new weeds (plants0 for her plant menagerie I watched the birds huddling around a lamp post in the parking lot and tried not to get bored out of my skull. She finally appeared at the exit door and I drove over and picked her up and we headed home. Got her back to her home about 4:30. Took care of a few things there then came back here to my home. There you have it, my day today.
***Jeffrey, sounds like an exhausting kind of day. Hospital ventures often feel like you're feeding a time bandit. Hey, notify the junk yard there is an old green car on the tracks so they can send out a tow truck and remove it before a train comes by.

Home for the evening since it was my short day. It was very busy today and the high tomorrow is supposed to be 81 F about 10 degrees above average.
I ran my new Mogul for around 20 minutes tonight before MOH got home. It ran well at low speed and has nice sound features. I believe it was well worth the price and I may buy another after the first of the year.
Lee- Hope you are feeling better tonight.
Rob- That tree looks much bigger in today's pictures.

Work Front I think I smell a Rat. Again I find another ticket that Tim has written that does not have the oil change on the ticket? Most of our customers pay by credit card so I don't know if he has found a way to pocket the oil change funds or if he has something else up his sleeve? Bet it has something to do with the profit margin, oil changes are not high profit. Commission goes up with your profit margin. All so explains why our inventory is a joke.

Thanks for the compliments on the painting of the castings. For those who are curious, I painted them with latex paint after giving them a very light spray with primer gray spray paint. One of my own forum members had asked me how I got the latex paint to stick to the resin and that's how. The latex was brushed on and the rust color paint was dry brushed. With these having come out so well I may get more. Being they're flawed casting I can get a bag full for a few dollars.
It's been a busy day for me so I'm calling it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Finished the CDs and the lady came and picked them up. She paid me quite well. I told to give me whatever she thought was fair. I'll have a bit of hobby money over the Holidays..... Ran a few errands and got my hair cut this afternoon. My barber is just back to w*rk after having a serious heart attack a couple weeks ago. He was very lucky it happened at his shop and there were a couple customers there, one of which is a doctor... He ended up in a hospital in Rochester, NY and had a couple stents put in. His major artery to his heart was 95% blocked. This is his third heart attack I think. This time he is giving up smoking! He is 10 years younger than I am....
Made up 50 blank CDs for recording the church services for the next year, and then spent most of the evening in the train room. Glued the last of the three new sidings in place, and then did some wiring for feeders. You know, It is a heck of a lot easier to crawl around under the layout after losing 30 lbs.!
Mr. Beasley, Going Skiing I see! By golly, THAT is one thing they can't do in Florida now can they.... I used to do some Nordic skiing back not too many years ago actually. Still have the old skis down cellar. Most probably the boots are shot though. May get them out if we actually have any snow this winter.

Its 0226, I can only sleep 2-4 hours at a time, but I’m getting about 10 hours of sleep a day so I think I’m ok, LOL. I went to the urologist and the stone is actually 4.5mm. I was ok until I looked at my drill gage now I’m a bit nervous. The plan is for me to pass it on my own before the 29th. Doc has an operating room reserved for me at 1300 on that day. The stone is stuck right before entering the bladder so I’m on tamsulosin to help dilate the opening. I try to take the pills at the first indication of pain, the pain is starting in an area only the menfolk can relate to then radiates to my lower back so I don’t hesitate to take the pills as needed.
Well I’m afraid change of diet won’t help me, but thanks for the advice. I have a high calcium content in my blood, always have, and it looks like I’ll go through this every 10-12 years.
Lion, try www.microcenter.com for a laptop battery. They have a wall display of generic batteries that will fit almost any laptop and they are a dell, Toshiba, HP, and Powerspec, certified service center. If that fails look up Bull Dog Battery in Wickliffe, OH they rebuild everything from locomotive batteries to cordless drill batteries.
