Good Morning!! Coffee and a sweet roll please. Make that two thank you.

The garbage man cometh.

Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 38 by 5pm. It’s 51° now.

What's that you say Barry? Molding? No haven't got the molding up yet. Have to wait to grout. No I wouldn't say Brenda's hyperactive.

Jerry- Good to see you’re back in. Congrats on the Grandbaby. They probably would have rather waited a while before coming up to Springfield, but glad to hear all is well. Sorry you have to move, I hate it myself, but sounds like in the end it’ll be better apartment? At least sounds like it from a the I&S standpoint.

Galaxy- Ah we missed ya hoss. But like Ray said, you being attacked by those migraines, we just figured you’re sittin it out ‘til you can stand the light of the monitor and the crash of the keys as you type. Besides, everybody gets lost for a day or two now and then. It’s when they’re gone for an unusually long time we begin to worry.

Ken- That’s a great picture of Tiff. I hope you hang on to it forever.

Ulrich- I hesitate to congratulate you on the job prospect as they have a tendency to be pulled out from under you. HOWEVER! I will congratulate you on you w**k you have done so far. Fantastic on unearthing the….frauders? That looks good for you and also the ability to get the banks to look again says bucket loads about you. Say, you don’t suppose you could talk to the Bank of Stupid for Ken do you?

Welp, the tile is all laid except for the decorative strip in front of the tub, and the four tiles at the door. Why? Well as sort of predicted, Brenda picked the stain last night. Nothing we found was a good match so she picked one that was close. Of course, as usual;, the stain on the wood we’re using is lighter than the display tab. Both are oak, but the species or density is obviously different. We’re used to that. Anywho, I’ll finish the tile this morn and probably start grouting the parts I did yesterday, though I’d prefer to wait until tomorrow. I like to wait a good 24 hours, though some say you don’t have to wait that long. 12 is enough. I don’t know. Rather be safe than sorry especially with my luck.

Gotta w**k tonight and tomorrow night so only half days.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Morning All,

At w**k today so no modeling for me. I plan on redoing that small section of track tomorrow, how long can it take? Probably most the day.

Jerry- Congrats on your Grandson.

Ulrich- Thats tough having to do that. Do you still have a job? I'm not sure how things go over there, but it seems that if you stand up for the right thing you will end up paying a price for it here.

Todd- As someone that has laid a lot of tile and some wood flooring I can definitely sympathize with you.

Everyone take care.

Ulrich: That was quite the rat nest you discovered. Hopefully the fact that it was handled well and was some time ago will weigh in the company's favor.

Good morning. It's 66° and cloudy with patchy fog. The high will be 76° and it will be cloudy with rain. There's a 50% chance of rain all day.

Good sleeping weather today and I may do just that. I don't have any projects going right now and I don't have any planned.

Good morning, Chloe.  Coffee, please.

Lee, Sorry about all the home repairs.  We are lucky because Larry & I can do most repairs ourselves.  It saves a lot of time but sometimes waits until there is  some  kind of push to get it done like Christmas.Bang Head

Ray,  You are working your fingers to the bone.  Great progress.

Garry,  Feel better.  We have been nursing the same crud.  Everyone has it.

 Morning Folks

 Flo, Coffee Please.

Go in to work today at 10:00 AM and must say I am dreading it. Last 2 days I have felt like I have had 2 pound rock in my stomach. I just just have to keep reminding my self that last Monday was the worst day I have had at work, the other ones where not as bad. Besides, I now know what to look for in Tim's tickets (if there is one) and fix them before the customer gets to the counter!

All most got the UP Cover Hopper together. Could not get the trucks screws started and could not find my hobby knife until way to many Beer had been consumed. Beer and knives do not go together.

I should get off at 5:00 PM, but seems I never know for sure.

Good Morning fellow Modelers!

It's a sunny cool morning in the Mile High City!  In a much better mood today so the coffee is on me!

Still working on getting my Trip Video library backed up to a secondary disk(s).  If I recall I was doing a Railfan Trip report that I need to get back too.  I think I was doing something on the Georgetown Loop and was about to work on it's video section when I found it's video was not yet on the computer to process.

Coffee for me, too, Chloe.  I'm taking the day off.

Not a regular here, I know, but I had to tell someone.  Last night, just before waking, I had a bad dream.  We had a crowd of people over, families with small children, and while I was keeping some of them from tearing open unbuilt kits and scattering the parts all over the place, the rest completely destroyed my layout.  It was down to a bare benchwork frame, with the foam sheets completely removed and all the scenery and trackwork demolished.  Even within the dream, though, attention to detail saved me.  "No, this must be a dream," I told myself, "because that's 1-inch foam, and I use 2-inch foam on my layout."

Mmmm.  Good coffee.  I feel better now.

Extra strong coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

***Todd, I understand the challenge matching stains from making custom frames for each oil painting. Have always enjoyed it though. Good luck with finishing the tiles up and checking that off you own To Do list. I'm sure it will look great when completed.

My sister mentioned having a Union Pacific train calendar and asked if I might want it. Was she kidding? Doesn't she know most of my model trains are U.P. and it's been my favorite line since childhood? Now the Southern Daylight is (IMO) the most beautiful color scheme ever, U.P. is among the top group in beauty. There are several others I really like as well, like the Santa Fe Super Chief. Heck, I even think the current CSX locos look pretty neat in their own way. I'd probably collect them ALL if I won the Lottery.Stick out tongue Rob

Mr B ! ... I'm glad you are in the Diner this morning. Evidently, you could use plenty of coffee. That was a nightmare for certain!

Perhaps, Duke will have a nightmare like that so he can wake up. Imagine his Berkshire is part of the dream. That should awaken him.

We were out with friends to a Christmas "shindig" in town last Friday evening. I think somebody had the bug and we caught it. Both of us slept for about 3 days straight. Today is improving.

I did a little bit of work on the layout, anyhow. I changed the wiring for my loop of track surrounding the city under construction. It's now DCC. Liitle by little my conversion to DCC is moving along.

"Have a good one." as Jerry would say.

***Garry, so when your conversion is complete, will you still speak with those who have not entirely evolved from DC?Whistling

***Mr B, glad that was just a dream. Yikes!

I went out to run the generator a little and discovered a drip leak under the shut off valve. It smelled really strong of gas and I thought such a drip couldn't produce such strong fumes. Sure enough, it was spewing out from several other locations around the side of the unit. Must have burst some seals or cracked something when the temps were down into the 20's. I thought it would be safe under a shed roof with a tarp over it. I was mistaken.Black Eye So no more backup power here presently.

Better start my chores now. Have a good day all. Rob

Well, once again MOH's new manager screwed up. Seems she enter on the computer schedule that all employees must access from either their home computer or one at work that MOH was to work 3pm-7pm today. At noon-thirty te Front end manager calls MOH and says the new Dept. manager says MOH was to be at work at 8 AM!!!!!

FORTUNATELY- we PRINT OFF the computerized schedule and MOH carries it around everywhere so MOH can PROVE the COMPUTER schedule IS correct!!!!

The NEW Dept. manager has HER head screwed up on THAT matter!!! SO MOH had to go in at noon-thirty.

The NEW Dept. manager is ALWAYS late and screwing up and leaving a messy dept. for MOH. IF it was the FOOD section the health Dept. would have a kaniption fit!!! but being it is only "floral", the new manager thinks she can get away with leaving all the crap and garbage for MOH.

I think she has another think coming!!!

She will work her way right out of her job, and then MAYBE MOH will finally get it!!!

Sigh

Hey, Chloe. Next time MrB stops by pour him a coffee and put it on my tab.

MrB, Glad to have you stop by.  A bad dream is a very bad dream when the layout is involved.  Is the ski season starting on your side of the world?  Sorry that Joe is having trouble keeping the BEER BARN open.  Tell the guys that they are welcome over here.

 Evening Folks!

 Flo, Beer Please.

Well work went OK to, did not feel like hanging my self from a rafter. First thing I did when I got in today was check all of Tim's tickets. It was his tickets that made me feel like string my self up Monday. Well, they where all correct this time around. About 4 hours later on the computer screen I saw a bunch of tickets in RED. That mean the vehicle is late in getting done and or have not been cashed out. That Odd, there only 2 tickets in the completed basket, 2 in the shop being worked on and none on the lot?

Hum, seems Tim has a new trick, he does not cash out his free work tickets! When I say free work, we fix tires tires that people bought from us for free (depending on installment plan), check alignments for fee, stuff to get people in the door. So if there is no dollar amount on the ticket, he just hands them there keys and leave there tickets open in the computer. He is just being plan lazy. But till I know for sure what I am, I don't think I should say anything.

Well, time to look around the site and build some rolling stock.

 Later, Ken

Good Morning

4 am and I have been trying to catch some sleep for hours now, but no luck.

Things are not looking bright. Just a few too many things have happened in that company in the past - things I don´t want to be connected with. I just don´t want to liaise with people who display a criminal attitude., being the straight forward country boy I am.

I will go to the place in a few hours and hand over my keys. Another dream gone down the drain.

Feeling abused and exhausted.

Can't say as I blame you there. Too many times in the past I've found myself in the company of shady characters putting on a good face. In most cases I came away with burned fingers. These days I tend to keep my distance from everyone.

Good morning, ladies and gents.  Here in unpredictable New England, it's sunny and the temperature is almost 50, even before the sun peeked above the horizon.  It's certainly not helping our plans to go skiing.  We haven't bothered the last 2 weekends, and this one will be no different.

But, that's good for the train biz.  I've got today and Monday to work, and after that I'll be burning unused vacation time and won't go back to work until January 9th.

We spent yesterday at Boston's Museum of Science, where they have an exhibit of artifacts from Pompeii.  Fascinating stuff.  Then we walked around the rest of the Museum.  There was a model of the highway bridges and the rail lines crossing the Charles River by Boston Garden.  They used N-scale trains, AMTRAK stuff.  Well, it was a "museum quality" model, I guess, but I've seen far better work right here.

Good morning. It's a nice balmy 60° here. It's cloudy with a 60% chance of showers this morning then decreasing to 50% all day. The high will be 58°. The low tonight is due to be in the low to mid forties.

I'll be working on just one project today. I'll be mounting a Kadee coupler to the front of a 70's era Bachmann 0-6-0. The front part of the locos frame  is metal with a plastic platform and steps. The dummy coupler is also metal and is a cast part of the frame. It'll have to be cut off. The frame isn't wide enough to use a Kadee coupler box without looking bad so I'll probably have to cut the end off a Kadee coupler and glue the shank into a hole I'll have to drill in the end of the frame. I like this loco for it's weight. The frame and boiler are both metal, the cab is plastic. It originally belonged to a close relative. He bought it new. At some point toward the end of his life he refitted it with a can motor and put in all new brass gears. I hope to have it done today.

Good Morning!! Just coffe for me today please. Thanks.

Sunny, with a high near 38. Thirty eight. Well I guess it is middle of December.

Um, er, uh…hm. Nothing to say. Imagine that. Especially from me.

Grout to day I suppose, though they want me to go into w**k at 1100 to make about 4 pizza’s for the coal mine’s classes going on. Only be there maybe an hour. Doesn’t seem worth it to me, even though they have these things all the time I guess and they want some of the “lunch budget”. Oh well, not like I have to drive any distance.

Welp, that’s about all for me so far other than w**k again at 5.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!
