Ken- If your like me, the glasses just not the same anymore if the VIN #'s size is the problem you might try a small pocket magnifier to see if that helps, (unless the people are like my dad was, EVERYTHING ended up on the dash board he was a carpenter so all sorts of stuff could be found up in there. Smile, Wink & Grin ). I think my B&G are ready I'll be at the RC for a while, Will someone pass the hot sauce Please.

Got up a little earlier to send my sister off to Oakville to a pottery workshop and me to  go to the airport to  pick up  my aunt and cousin from Germany.

Then it is off to the university to see some people up there...sheeesh

Flo, I'll have a coffee and a breakfast bagel please...oh brother...no not the 50lb one!! The regular sized one!!! Sheeesh!...thank you...I'll be over at the corner booth by Duke here...

Good morning, diners.   Let's see if Chloe will set us up with coffee.  I plan to sit in this back booth for a while to see who shows up.

Coffee

It was good to see Ryan.  If we could get him back to share some photos, even the old ones.  Speaking of MIA's, has anyone heard from Dick.

Tootie and Jerry,  Looks like you are getting that corner finished.  Is there a hole in the wall to another town?

Curt,  I think Ulrich has been such a great host this month.  Maybe someone will host the November diner in a warm climate. Hint. Hint.

Yesterday, we had a cold front come through that gave us rain & wind.  It only lasted 3 or 4 hours, but a lot of leaves came down.  The stars are out again, so today we will probably bring in more firewood.

Later,  Sue

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.

Good Morning!! Coffee please. Thanks

Areas of frost before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 58.

Pretty sure the only insides of an animal I eat is the liver. Chicken or beef. I have tasted coon before, I don’t recall exactly what it tasted like, but I wouldn’t necessarily say chicken. Hmm Maybe kind sorta reminds you of chicken. Like Gator. Many say that tastes like chicken. Doesn’t taste like chicken to me, tastes more like…fish with the texture of chicken. Sorta.

Well, looks like Ranger fans and Cub fans have the same thing in common. “Wait ’til next year” Had to w**k so I didn’t see that much. Came in at the 7th inning stretch to hear GBA. I knew it. I cheer for them, but I knew it. Cardinals earned it, Rangers lost it.

I love red dresses. You don’t hear of too many women named Dot any more.

Well, I have one can of trash to take away from Mom’s then it’s done. Talked to the new owner, and the Title company rep and the Realtor, they all called to tell me that the closing will be Wednesday at 1000. I guess it’s really happening. The house will be gone.Ashamed

Gonna work on the fity six Fowd today I suppose.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Good Morning All,

Coffee and a waffle with blueberries and whipped cream please Zoe. We're to get anywhere from 1 to 12 inches of s**w today. No Dot doing the forcast here, just some doofus from Hartford. Cold now as in 38 F and dreary. Back in the shop this morning to finish up. Got both transaxels done and have to tackle a regular gearbox today. Pops out of gear it does. Someday I hope to have time to get back after the Focus but it's languished all summer. Maybe after I return from Fla.

Curt - hopefully we won't need that big a plow just yet. Nice job though.

Jerry nice progress you're making. I take it you've been granted more space?

Nice to see Ryan drop by. Sounds like he's in the same mess as Robbie trying to get a permanent position that pays a living wage. No, Zoe put the soap box away I'll not get started as they'll shut the site down. And kindly tell Vinnie the skillet won't be needed.

Todd, you're probably having mixed emotions about the end of an era with your Moms' house but hopefully you'll be better off without a second house to worry over.

I think I lack the culinary adventurousness (is that even a word?) of many of you. I can't stand the taste of liver let alone the rest of it.

Well, (with a coat of ice forming onit) time to pick up tools.      CUL, J.R.

Morning All,

It has been raining off and on for a couple of hours, it woke me at 6 AM. I may go to Best Buy today to look at cameras. I have a idea of what I want to get, but MOH wants me to talk to a salesman about what I want the camera for. I think it's kind of funny. I have never been interested in photography until I started MRR so I guess it is a unforeseen new hobby.

Sue- Thanks for the vote of confidence, but there is no way I can do something like Ulrich has amazed us with.

JR- What part of FL are you going to?

Garry- Those are really nice thought out details on the back of your passenger station.

Everyone take care.

Curt,

I'm going to Daytona Beach. we have the HSR season finale there on the road course. If you're in Winter Garden, I would suggest a trip to Colonial Hobby (and Camera) in Orlando. I doubt that any of the boffins at Best Buy will be of much use as photography experts and the beauty part is Colonial is a camera and train store (and therefore double dangerous). And don't underestimate your layout talents. What I see is excellent. J.R.

Good morning. It's 40° and partly cloudy. The high will be 68° and it will be sunny..

Last night I turned the heater on before going to bed thinking that it would be cold overnight. I was right. It was 34° when I woke up at 6:30. It was a nice 70° in here. The heater is off now. I discovered this morning that I have two covered hoppers of the same size that carry vastly different loads. They're in this mornings photo. Now I know that granite even in a powdered or pulverized form (used in cement/concrete mix) is very heavy. I had no idea that beans could be heavy enough to require such a compact and rigidly built hopper. Who says beans aren't a heavy meal!Black EyeDead

Today I'll be applying the L&A decals to the Front Range hopper and making some skirting for the Bachmann mobile home. I figure card stock should be good enough. After that a general cleanup of the layout and maybe I'll run a train today.

Aww BEANS, don't take that rock for granite.

The LION is here for some more of those wonderful wildebeest bagels, and some Diet Dr. Pepper in an NYCT mug.

The virtual LION is in the old "Money Train" (yes, there really was such a thing) in the New York City Transit Museum. The cat is real, although I forgot his name. The previous cat that lived here was named "Token" This LION will spend the day working on his railroad, mostly on some power projects, but first he has three print jobs that need to be typeset and sent upstairs for proof reading.

And get everybody a round of diet cola... it looks like the Tab is on him!

Well today I'll be receiving a Tyco 'Old Dutch Cleanser' reefer and a Woodland Scenics 'Rusty's Regret' vehicle. That should look good parked amongst the trees behind Ezra Johnson's tourist train station and pizza joint. If it doesn't I'll find another place for it. I should also be able to get a start on making a step by step posting with photos for a friend on how to remove truck mount coupler boxes and body mount Kadee boxes and couplers.

Afternoon folks!

Cup of hot chocolate please...

I'm just sitting here at the moment waiting for a delivery of my winter's firewood to arrive.  Spent all morning down at church helping to put together a small sound system for the Social Hall.  We bought 4 JBL speakers back 5 years ago and were going to use the board, EQ, and the radio mikes from the Sanctuary to operate it.  The guy who does most of the sound for the services now pointed out that there are times when sound is used in the Social Hall for events between services, or right up to service time.....  could be a problem, so we decided to do it differently than the Properties Committee had planed back then.  I am donating my old Ashley EQ and a radio mike unit (with the understanding I can grab it if I need to use it) which gives us all the needed equipment to get it set up.  Couldn't finish it today as we have no speaker wire.......  Well, the speakers at least are mounted on the walls and the rack is set with all the needed units just waiting to be all hooked up.

The wood stove got fired up as soon as I got home from church...  It is 40°F outside and isn't going to get any warmer today.  Could get about an inch of cold, sloppy, wet white, partly cloudy this evening as well...

Wood just arrived!

Later!

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Afternoon, BARRY-sized double bacon cheeseburger please with a plate of fries and bucket of Coke please, 'n thank-ya. Oh, wait. Since we're still in Germany....maybe I oughta make THAT an order of "Veener Schnitzel" instead???

JEFF: Neat little car there. I'd go a few steps more gnarly on it by rusting the bejeebers out of it and having a tree sprouting up and out from the trunk...but THATs just me.

'Twas good to see RYAN poke his head in here... Anybody ever figure out what happened to VINCENT and PC???? I know we're missing some others in here as well.

RAY: I'm sure your kitties would've "helped" with THAT bird!

This is an odd day. With the regular season of high school football complete, I actually spent last night at home instead of on the sideline... This weekend, I have no deeds to do, no promises to keep! It's incredible! It's amazing! Of course, I don't have to look around very far or for very long to find about a hundred things THAT "need" doing...

Have a great rest of the day, and of course best wishes continue for all in need.

It s...sn...sn..sn'achoo..sn*w....sn*wing now here.

wet juicy flakes that AREN'T sticking YET!

We are NOT int he "high risk Area" but we are on the outter edges, so itcould "rain snow on our parade here too. GNT racing will get it though.

GOod thing we go the gererator, cuz they say power outages in PA are hapening where it already hit cuz the wet, heavy, sticky stuff sticks to the ground, trees, tree limbs break off, fall on power lines...gets messy and cold.

Onlyest thing is we don''t yet have  way to power the furnace with the generator. I think I will call the installer and see if they can install a bypass plug we can plug into the generator to runt eh furnace somehow. But THAT will ahve to wait til Monday. Damage could be done by then.
WE DO have 2 heaters adn I think maybe we get a third to heat the "wet roomS" to help keep pipes from freezing...oh darn.. forgot about the heat tape that will ahve to be pugged in to,and the generator is only 5500 watts. WOnder what wattage the heat tape is??? We HAD 3 heaters til one blew out. Now down to two. THinking aobut getting one of those eden pure things the prices are lower now on those..won't save money using the electricity over gas to heat with, butcan help if power goes out.

La Nina strikes again. Apparently as dry as Jeffrey adn the south have been will be as dry as they will be this winter...and we inteh north will get tons of s...sn....sn*....sn*w this winter...goodie!

well.

later dudes! stay warm and dry!

Geeked

Later edit: It's Shticking now. Shticky shtuff. Looks like it will even reach up Ray's way?

 Evening Fellow Dinners!

Flo, Big Boy Sub, tender of fries and a Beer please.

I have been transferred to another store for training and I am glad I was! Scott the manager and Mike, one of the salesman have been helping me with the computer and I am learning how to do some of the stuff like writing up tickets!

Last night I was riddled with self doubt (think that is the right word) and was really worried about being able to learn the computer program and typing standing up. Today I feel much more re-insured I will master it. Plus this store desk is much higher than Bridgeton, makes typing a lot easier. Hard to type while bending over and supporting your self with the hands and typing at the same time.

I do know there is a certain amount of resentment that they are hiring managers that have not worked there way up in the company. Both mangers I have worked with have done that, and I can understand why they feel that way. I have had to train a few of my bosses and well lets just say I did not like doing it.

I think they might be trying to scare me off. Both Steve and Scott have told me I will need to work 70 plus hours as a manager? Hum, from what I have seen so far I don't think you should have to. Maybe they are not truly managing but getting by, by doing the work them self. I will talk to my Steve (old friend in KC and ask how many hours he has to work. He cannot do the work him self so he might be able to enlighten me a little.

Todd I lied, I did watch the game. You know this is coming but I have to do it. Cardinals Are The World Series Champions, Go Crazy! But it could have never been a better World Series! Well for me that is. Whistling

See you all later.

Hey all, been gone a while. Been over w**ked 60 plus hours a week (salary Sad ) , then coming home and having to take over for MOH. She has been has been doing well considering she should be pushing up daisy's by now according to what the old saw bones orginally told us. We give thanks and Angel  for answered Angel. Many things have changed recently. My son in South Korea called to tell me that I am going to be a grandpa Big Smile ! Brother in laws wife in a terrble car accident and now cannot walk. I also have been checking Craigslist and ran across an add and was able to pick up three large boxes of MMR stuff. Buildings, trees,track,6 engines (Tyco), rolling stock etc.. for a few hundred dollars Big Smile. All the tree's were worth that ! The track is the stuff that comes with the plastic base and track mounted together. What do you call that stuff ? Came home and started bring the boxes in and I could see this look of worry on MOH face that said " Oh my you have spent all of our money ! When I told her she relaxed. Later we took it down and hooked up the track and set up the buildings etc.. and it took up a qsurter od the basement floor with half a box of track left over ! I let my girls set up the buildings and trees after I hooked up the track. And then let them run trains.Boy did they  have a good time ! Money well spent !

I see some things have changed here too. Cuda has a job now ! Hurray !

Sleet , rain and some snow here today. Talk to you later guys.

Evenin' folks!

Just a decaf for me as always....

Wood got delivered this afternoon....  THAT takes care of any hobby money for a couple months. Grumpy  But the wood stove is lit since early afternoon and the house is toasty warm with the stove shut down almost all the way.

Did some test fitting and fabrication of a coal dump for the Power House near the quarry.

Trying to get a good shot from this angle (below), was not only impossible, I managed to knock the coal tower across the small aisle with my left elbow and knock it off the foundation breaking a few small items.....Grumpy  It is fixable.  Probably take about an hour.

Hear is the start of the coal dump.  It will be inside the building.

Time to sit back and relax.  I see Galaxy has turned in early again.  All that guy does is sleep I think.  At least he doesn't snore like Duke does.....Whistling

None of THAT white, flacky stuff yet here in the Finger Lakes.  They say will get a little overnight, but less than an inch.  it will melt off quickly in the morning.

I will be spending part of the day out at the museums tomorrow with the Boy Scout Troop.  We'll see how many items on the MB we can get checked off.

Later!

Ray, Your power house and coal dump look great! You are a great modeler!!

I will see you all in the morning.  Stay warm and dry. Don't let the bed bugs bite!

Ray- We turn in early so as to get our 8 Hours of sleep especially since MOH gets up at 5:30 AM. I usually wake up then too. Even on Days off, MOH and I tend to wkae up by 6AM at least. I take my meds, then later I go back to sleep for a nap I think due to meds.

Nice to See GMT RAcing stopped in, But to bad we can't see what he checked in with!!! Wonder if snow related???
