Barry asked. ... "Garry, Duke: Is/was there a website mentioned for that layout? I think I missed it somehow...'
Here's the website.... http://www.entertrainmentjunction.com/
Barry and Everybody else ... I suggest you go to the website, and click on "Train Journey" ... Then click on the video in the center.... They have a camera in the G Scale train, and you can "ride" it. It's really remarkable!
Here are my granddaughters when we visited EnterTrainMent Junction.
Duke is posting some great photos. Here are two of mine.

Evening All,
I just wanted to drop a line before heading off to bed. For some reason I'm really tired tonight. Went out to Kohl's tonight and got a couple of new shirts for vacation. I have a shift tomorrow then I am off for 2 weeks. I will be able to post here only sporadically next week until Thursday then nothing until the following week on Wednesday. I will miss reading the posts in the diner.
Everybody take care.

Evenin' folks!
Janie, just a decaf for me right now. I'll be in the back booth relaxing for a while.
Holy Moley! What is Barry eating tonight..... He's trying to have another coronary I see!
Rob, no I never get tired of getting complimented......... Thank You!
Ken the rooms it is in are about 276 sq. feet. So it is a bit bigger than a 4' x 8' ........ There is a guy near where I live by the name of Guil Mack (owner of Tiger Valley Trains). He created a train room and then built a house over it. His little train room is 1800 sq. feet......... Good luck with the interviews!
The best word to describe the Finger lakes tonight is damp. Very damp. 62°F outside, raining, with a 97% humidity tonight. Yep, damp describes it quite well..... Windows are closed and the air conditioner is shut off, BTW. We are not nearly as bad off as Galaxy and most everyone in the Eastern part of NYS... They are getting nailed again, even before drying out from the last deluge. We have gotten an inch and a half of rain today and may get 1 to 2" more overnight.... So far the basement has stayed dry..... Although I haven't been down there since I got back from the Scout District Roundtable tonight.
Here is one more photo of the roundhouse. This one is a look inside:
Sure wish we could send some of the precipitation down to Texas.........
Have a good, safe, and dry evening.

Ken: I know a couple of people who are financial planners..interesting work there.
Garry, Duke: Is/was there a website mentioned for that layout? I think I missed it somehow...

Well, as I mentioned before..up here we got a few drippingfests, but we are getting the winds from the Northeast here....it did do a downpour for a couple of hours earlier in the day but not much after that...
Spent part of the afternoon working on the layout...relaid some track around the end of the peninsula that was a little too radical a radii for a few feet..things did like to derail there ...now I am thinking of trying my hand at handlaying a 15 degree crossover for a spur/interchange....
Chloe, I'll have 8 extra large hexaplex burgers with mozzarella cheese between each burger and fried portobello mushroom gravy on the burgers as well as a large 5lb tub of Poutine and a banana split as well please..oh and my usual RBF...I'll be at the corner booth or a bit...

jeffrey-wimberly Good evening. It's a nice 85° here with hardly a cloud in the sky.I spent most of the morning at my parents place helping my father cut bushes out of the fence and trim low hanging limbs. OK, he did that. I drove the tractor with a trailer on behind and loaded the limbs and bushes into the trailer and hauled them off to the burn pile. For lunch we went into town to Buffet City. Only place in town where you can get chicken cooked eighteen different ways. Then we dropped my mother at Stage so she could do some quick shopping. Fifteen minutes she said. Yeah! Right! Thirty-seven minutes later she emerged from the store with a small bag as evidence of her efforts. Still she set a new record for herself. Her shortest time before that was one hour and twenty-five minutes and she walked out with a store clerk carrying two large bags for her while she carried a third and I carried the fourth. I remember that particular trip because I had a little fun while I was waiting for her in the store. I was sitting near one of the checkout stands (they're sprinkled all over the store) just resting, leaned back with my left leg crossed over the right leg and my arms crossed, not moving a muscle if I could help it. This young girl about ten or eleven is standing close by looking at me. I'm not moving. She steps closer. Maybe she thinks it's some kind of display though why a clothing store would have a display of a bearded man in jeans and t-shirt is beyond me. She steps closer and reaches out and touches my left arm. I opened my left eye and while my left eyebrow disappeared into my hairline I said in a conversational tone 'BOO!'. She let out a short scream and jumped two feet up and four feet back. Back to today. By the time I got home it was 5 pm. I'm just sitting here trying to recover from the day. I'm sure that later I'll be hurting in places I didn't know I had. My foot is a bit swollen from the work this morning so I'm going to have to take it easy for a while.

Jeff!!!!- that's cruel, but very funny.
Well, it's been around upper 60s today. Nice by my book. Cleaned the inside of my Jeep up for Elwood days this weekend. Tomorrow I may spend the morning shooting the breeze with a friend in the morning. Late start early dismissal tomorrow, and I only have 3 classes, two technically because I'm going to be working during my advisory in the welding shop making a repair part for my mom's lounger. Needs a thing to keep the incline set. Cheap plastic thing broke last year and I have to talk to the welding instructor about welding up an aluminum pot.
Coffee for me. Thanks.

jeffrey-wimberly cudaken: Jeffery Glad you are having luck with the engines. I had not noticed the crack in the E-7 shell. Sorry about that. I still have a PK E-6 and undercoated shell with no cracks. The crack was easy enough to fix. I put some super glue in it and held the pilot down with my left thumb for 15 minutes while I played solitaire. In the first photo you see the glued crack running from the middle of the number board hole down to just above the first wheelset. In the second photo you can see the Athearn motor I shoehorned into the Stewart B unit. I quickly found that the rear truck had a busted gear in the top of the tower. Since I didn't have a good set of Kato trucks floating around I milled out part of the bottom of the frame on each end and refitted it with AAR switcher trucks either from an old Athearn switcher or a Proto switcher. The loco frames look near identical.

Flooding Flooding Flooding!!!
Getting deep around here.
River near me is flood stage at 18', is now at 26.4', and expected crest at 33'!!!!!!!
No wonder we are headed for the Flood of '06 - the "500 year flood"-that only expected to happen once in 500 years??? Try at least twice in a decade!!! Add in a few "100 year floods" in the past decade and we've had our share.
Now if only we could send it to Texas!!!
We will be high and dry and Red Cross has ashelter nearby we should be able to get to if we need to.
We will probably loose power overnight or sooner.
Was out 5 days in '06.
We should be high and dry!!!
Opps...better charge my cell phone!
Later!

Flo, what a free beer for my 5,000 post? Well thank You! Ah, could I have a pitcher of ?
Services Writer Position. Hum, they don't own the building yet? It is not what I thought it would be, but still maybe a good job. They are closing today on the building and it will be a higher end used car lot. All cars will be certificated and sold with a aftermarket warranty. We would handle all warranty work depending on the warranty package they bought.
Interview went OK, but I did not feel like I hit it out of the ballpark either. With the shop being no where ready to open I did point out I have opened 3 of shops so I could help get the shop going.
There will be no body shop. That is something I would have enjoyed. He all so said they will sell no cars that have had any paint work done to them. Told him then I could help with buying cars. Having been in the business for 20 years I can spot paint work that most people would never see. I all so bet he will get over that part real fast if I help in buying! Most people would be shocked at how many NEW CARS have had some paint work done on them!
He did tell me to E-Mail him with any questions I have. I think that is the key if I want the job. It was a long drive and the lot is not in a great spot. It is next to the interstate but in a deep gully. Cannot be seen from the interstate period.
Telemarketing Job Sort blow them off. Told Matt I was still interested in the job, but do to family issues I could not start till the 19th. Told me he was starting a training class on Monday the 12th. Said I would call him back and see what I could do. Personally I think there is a training class every Monday. While I was there Tuesday, he told me 2 new people quit. Go figure.
Have two other interviews set up for Friday and Saturday. One of the reasons I wanted to keep my options open. One is for a larger builder in the area and the other one is for a finical planner position / insurances agent.
Finical Planing is something I would like to do, I would be helping people. It is so sad I never had any plan set in places. If I had, I would not be in the position I am in. Hard to believe but I have made close to $1,000,000 on my life according to the IRS. Heck, if I had paid on the house instead of my toys I would own the house out right. Never thought things would go south $ wise.
Ray Outstanding pictures! How big is your layout anyway?
Todd Is that you and Brenda?
Todd you lucky Dog you.Guess it was after she married you she figured out see need glasses! That was only 1990? How old are you anyway? In 1990 I had all ready been married 12 years?
While it was not the picture I was looking for, here is my wife when I meet her in God, 1973?
Ulrich How much more time in the Stalag? Think you said it was 3 weeks?
Well this was my 5000th post. ore than likely I will still be in the dinner for the 6000th and on.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
It's been a while since I last dropped by, things have been rather busy, and I was still having problems with the page, but it seems to be ok now. I finished 3 paintings since I was here last. Here's the CP painting fo my friend who owns this locomotive:
And here's a shot of the Broadway Limited in the snow:
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the third, it was a portrait of a 67 Ford Galaxy 500 in front of a chicken restaurant in Elmira, NY. My friend used to own the car, and manage the restaurant, so I painted it for his birthday.
I did get a chance to run the trains quite a bit last month. Here's the Pennsy M1 doubleheader crossing the fill with a westbound freight:
Well, now that everything seems to be w**king right, I'll have to get caught up on what everyone's doing. Tom in Ca, I want to post a few images of the DM&IR painting I'm currently working on sometime this week.
Catch ya all later!

Well, well, well, {overflowing with flood waters}
Iff'n y'all don't see me for a few days, It's because we got flooded out.
Flooding everywhere will match the Great FLood of '06.
WE won't actually get flooded..but will get flooded in and will loose power if the transfer station in Castle Gardens gets flooded out. In '06 I think it was 5 days we were without power!
1-2" RAIN still coming for the next 3 hours and we are already flooding everywhere. They are in state of emergency and evacuating people quickly!
I don't how or what route MOH will be able to take to get home and that is still 2 hours away!
After 1.8 BILLION dolars in damage form Irene, now we have LEE dumping on us heartily and flooding where it DIDN'T flood with Irene.
When it rains it pours..litterally!!
SO you all stay warm, cool, safe and dry. We will suffer.
To bad we couldn't send it down to Texas!!!
I wil mail them zip-lock bags full of rain to help out!
Coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.
***Ray, perhaps you're tired of hearing this, but I've got to repeat, "that's an amazing layout you have there."
***Todd, CONGRATS on the Anniversary. Perhaps you two could work up some smiles?
Have a good day all.

Mornin'
Zoe, I need something hot this morning to.... Oh my dark roast coffee! You brought it with you... OK, let's have a short stack of Blueberry Pancakes with Maple Syrup and a side order of breakfast sausage to go along with the coffee. Thanks!
As Barry would say.... Dull! Very Dull here in the Finger lakes, and chilly as well. As of 11:30 we finally reached 60°F outside. The high may get up to 63°F....... "We're havin' a Heat Wave... Tropical Heat Wave". Last Saturday it was 90° here and bright sun..... Pouring out at the moment. We had .63" of "partly cloudy" overnight and they are calling for 2" today and another 1" to 2" tonight. Better keep a watch on the water level in the basement. Of course the gents are coming on Friday to evaluate some models.... I really don't want to have them bring boots....
Speaking of Barry... Take care of THAT arm sir! Hope it get to feeling better quickly.
David..... Get thee to college! You will be doing yourself a big favor.... I know a good many people who now wished they had gone and gotten more education, I have never had anyone tell me they should not have gone..... No matter what you choose to do in life, a good higher education will serve you well.
Spent part of last evening getting some new photos of the Roundhouse at Hopewell Junction. I'll share a couple with you folks:
And a night shot:
Best get checking out some things and accomplishing some other stuff.
Good Afternoon Folks,
back from the STALAG. Herr Klink seems to like me - no wonder, I seem to be the only one who participates. Puts a burden on me, being in his focus all the time, no time to sleep
Brenda & Todd - congratulations on your anniversary. Judging from the picture, you have retained your preference for blue shirts over those years
Ken - maybe its a new start for you, even if this is not what you are looking for. Take it, if nothing else shows up and keep on looking around.
James - I like the look of your layout very much. It is good to see a layout not plastered with track
Sue - we are enjoying the typical Washington State weather right now, not warm, but not really cold, either. But plenty of that wet stuff coming down ...
Jeff -bobber cabeese - I just love them
David - getting as much education as possible is never a bad idea. Learning when you are past your sell by date is much more exhausting, I can tell you!
Barry - that was shocking news! I am glad you escaped with only minor injuries. Take care!
Chris - THAT car would be an inspector´s dog´s breakfast in my neck of woods. It´d never see a public road here.
Joe - sounds like a fun schedule. I still remember my high school days back in 1974. Compared to my German school, the curriculum was a walk in the park during sunshine. That has changed considerably since, but the level of education has also dropped. More people now get their diploma, but with a lot less preparation for real life.
Ray - the Ford F-150 was the car I learned how to drive on - I still love it.
Hope you all are having a good one & stay safe!
Well, with the way it's , , , we are NOT going to get the roof done today I tell ya! It will have to be next week as we are supposed to have rain until tuesday next.
Todd- my sympathies, I mean my congratulations! In that pic are you sure you don't have you eyes closed thinking "I wish she would disappear, I wish she would disappear"??? MOH and I have been together 11 years now. Where DOES time go...Einstein never DID answer THAT question!!!
Well, saw the Dr. about the muscle fatigue and weakness I have been experiencing and getting worse for 2 months now. By evening I feel like an 85 y/o man and I ain't there yet!!. He took me off the cholesterol lowering drug as they often have such side effects. We shall see what we shall see when we shall see it! Hope it works cuz I can't bear this any longer. Can't get anything done.
Well, because we both have a wee bit 'o the Scottish in us, we are going to the Scottish Festival up towards Penn Yan in Dundee this coming Saturday if not raining so bad. They lost a soldier recently so I am sure they will have a tribute to him in there somewhere. Folks in town are going to tie yellow ribbons around the trees along main street. We both have more Irish and welsh in us than the scottish, but a wee bit will do! Men wearing Skirts! I never! Oh, sorry, KILTS I meant. MOH think me would look a bit 'o good in one! Now if I can find my tartan....
The train nut wanted to go with us, but then the wife decided she wanted to go and then mentioned it to her parents who wnat to go along so train nut friend will be bored stiff. Even though there are no trains involved.
Speaking of trains, at Steamtown Trainfest we both and train nut friend too entered contest for the Amtrak 40th anniversary Keystone Express train ride. It is free 2 round trip tickets form NY Penn station to Harrisburg, PA, then back to NYC in COACH {darn not first class}...and all we have to do is follow certain rules aobut booking to clear the trip to free and take a bus to Port Authority in NYC to take train. Train nut wants to go along...aparently it's only $51 one way? We have to work out detail and plan to try for my birthday weekend {the 25th for folks who wish to send he he} but MOH has to put in for 2 days vacation. Wish we had the $$$ to go to NYC spend the night on the town and then take the train and bus back home. We have some time to plan, but Mr. Bachmann from Amtrak said we can't wait to long, or it will expire.
I let MOH plan things like that. After I planned a few surprise things trip wise and MOH didn't like the motel, or didn't like the restaurant, or didn't like th rental car or didn't like whatever....I stopped the planning. THat way, if MOH plans it and isn't happy, I can say "YOU did it, not me!". Safer that way. How many of you guys do the same thing???
Well, getting yet another migraine headache due to this stinkin' weather. Awiating approval for anohter migraine medication. Hope it helps.
Later guys
Morning all.
Flo, Coffee to go.
Todd I know you get a kick out of the spelling mistakes and was not worried about that. I was just wondering what triggered it this time around? Brats did not look right to me if that was it.
Telemarketing Job. Believe me, it is not a job I want. But, I cannot make it on what I will be getting this time from unemployment either. Only good thing is it is only 8 miles from the house. On days my wife needs the car she could take me and pick me up from works.
Well, got to run, need to get the tire put on the car so I can go to the Services Writer interview.
Looks like I will break the 5000 post mark today.
Happy Aniiversary to Todd and Brenda !
Todd, if you look at the link Chris posted about a "good wife" dated 1955, you may enjoy it.
Chris... Thanks for posting the link. Walter Williams has plenty of wisdom. I've heard him a few times, and have read some of his columns. He's a good guy.
David P .... Great to learn you have plans to attend college! Feel free to tell more about it.
Jeff ... Your shops have even more work going on. I have to wonder what happened to the motors in the Stewart engines because they are good quality.
I'm still working on the layout. I'm painting my own clouds and was about to post them in the "Show Me" thread, but another clouds photo was already there when I was about to do so. It's part of about 16' of backdrop I am working on. Maybe I'll post it in WPF although I rarely show my work in progress. Stuff like that is messy.
LSWrr Ken, those telemarketing jobs are tough, the people you call aren’t always that friendly.
Um, that would be me. IF you don’t accept my first polite “no thank you, I‘m not interested.” After that, you’re free game.
Is there some reason Mopars were singled out yesterday? (chuckle)
Good Morning!! Coffee and the #2 special please, over easy thank you. I'm in a good mood today. Not that I'm ever in a bad mood, that's unusual, but today I'm in an especially grand mood.
Sunny, with a high near 75. Pretty much feels like sub zero out there now. Should warm up.
Ken- I can’t remember what brought the subject up about the spell check. But trust me, it wasn’t a complaint. Must have been spell checks choice of words for something. Funny what words the thing can come up with , but odd other things it can’t.
Well, today is the Anniversary of the third luckiest day of my life. The day I married Brenda. Yup we have been married for…..ever it seems. Can’t remember life with out her, or imagine it. Aaah I still get butterflies when I remember…never mind. You know, to this day, when ever she walks into the room, everything in my life stops. My heart beats a little faster and the breath leaves my body…as I wonder what I’ve done wrong this time. Tonight we will dine at either the Lonestar or the Roadhouse. Have only been to the Roadhouse once and was not impressed at all. We will see what she wants. I’m betting Lonestar as we both enjoy that place. Even though they don’t carry Lone Star Beer anymore. Mafia you know. Some things haven’t changed since Prohibition.
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Good evening folks from spring time Brisbane!
Been doin' some kit buildin' the last few days, I've had three kits sitting on my desk for 12 months or more so I finally pulled my finger out and completed them. Two Micro Engineering warehouse kits and Walthers ADM grain elevator kit. I've attached a photo.
You can also see I've done 85% of the ballasting on the layout and 'poured a road' for the town. My Grain elevator just needs decals and light weathering, also the warehouses just need some decals done up, the large one will become a produce distributor and the smaller one in 'town' will be a bathroom products wholesaler as thats the industry I work in. :D
Once my order from Model Train Stuff arrives I will populate the hills with trees, the next order in a about a month from now I will be buying a few more sctructure kits for my town, A service station ( Gas ) a little diner some strip shops and about 3 houses.
Jeff: I'm not too sure if you follow monsterrailroad on youtube or even have heard of him but there is a chap commenting on one of his videos username 'driline' bagging your weathering skills, just thought you might like to know. If I can find the video again I will link it to you. Hope it's not too wet down your way.
I will have more to add to the weekends WPF, Might even start it if I can get in quick enough.

Good morning, Chloe. A NP mug for my coffee, please.
Summer is finally here. We are continuing temps in the high 80's, with a possible 90 on Saturday. Our ladies trip climbing might be moved to another weekend, due to temps close to 100 at our destination. Go figure. It takes for ever to get here, and then.............
Off to work.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Train MasterMom and dad have plans for me to attend college. They never did.
Good morning. It's 54° and clear. The high will be 84° and mostly sunny. No plans for today. We'll just see what happens. The front area of my layout looks like Gomez Addams paid me a visit. There are pieces of old locos strewn about, motors, trucks, motor mounts, flywheels, frames, circuit boards, couplers with their springs gone.
David Parks I am the terror that flaps in the night!
Good Morning All,
We went from 95F-105F last week to 55F-59F this week. Big shock to switch from shorts to wind breakers over night. I see Lee is falling apart to our southeast. I spent last night doing yard work and ended up with about 10 trash bags out front and several bundles of branches. Tonight is the local MRR club meeting and Friday is the NMRA DIV 4 meeting.
The rolling stock dresser is coming along, MRR friend stopped over and after he figured out what I was building asked me to build him 2 dressers. I think he will be waiting until spring, only about 8 weeks left to work outside in the garage. If this dresser works out I might build a second one for myself.
Ken, those telemarketing jobs are tough, the people you call aren’t always that friendly. Good luck. Good luck finding your credit score for free, I would ask your bank or credit union to see if they will help you out. Also I’ve learned that your credit score varies depending on what you’re buying. Credit card, home loan, and Auto loans use different variables to award you a Credit Score.
