Evening Dinners!
Flo, bucket of ices water over my head and a
Work Front and the Evil Mel.
OK, work first. Well today I closed 100% on my contacts again!
Problem there was only one. But I have closed 11 out of 12 customers for 91.6%.
Now for Mel. What I will do will depend on what Shaun reports back to me Wednesday. I am going to have Shaun say he found a Queen Sealy Signature Pillow Top Series called Lagoon at my store he likes for $900.00. When I worked at Mattress Giant we called it the Tuckers Point and it sold for $2500.00 and we could go down to $1250.00.
Yes, this true pricing and you can see why Mel has resorted to saying they are used mattress, what else can he say " well we over charge, but buy it from me anyway please".
After I hear what Shaun has to say, I will call Ben and see what he wants me to do if anything.
OK now the dirty little secrete in the business, I have sold used mattress, Mattress Giant (including Mel) sales used mattress, Mattress Firm sales used mattress, every company that offers a Mattress Exchange sales there returned mattress!
Mattress Giant calls them Clearances Mattress. Every store they have that has the room for them, sales them. I have sold OH I guess around 30 of them in my time there. Now, I did tell the customers they have been in someones home. But after they where cleaned, personally I would not have a problem with them being sleep on. I use to travel a lot for a living, I am pretty sure they did not places new mattress in the room before I got there.
Mattress Firm and my Company sales them at Clearances Stores. While I don't know the details of how Mattress Firm handles it, my company clearances store sales all Queens for $399.00 and Kings for $699.00. All mattress are steamed cleaned at 260 degrees so there are no critters in them. You could but a $4500.00 King Mattress from us at are clearances store for $699.00 and that is a fact!
Back To Mel. Depending what if anything Ben lets me do, here is a couple of ideas.
1 While I would not call Mel a friend, I do think he might have some integrity. He may honestly think I am selling exchanged mattress. My new ones would be about the same prices as there clearances ones. So if Ben says it is OK, I will go have a talk with him, with out the Tire Iron.
2 Show up with one of are delivery trucks with a Lagoon Pillow Top New In the Bag. He should recognizes it as being the Tuckers Point they have for $2500.00. Show him some invoices where I have sold them it for $900.00, seeing is believing right?
3 If the above does not work, You Got A Want A. What is the shipping cost of a tire iron to 62062.
OK, I am off the
for now and will let you know what I find out Wednesday.
Cox 47 Jerry. I have been meaning to do this for ever, but what part of ILL do you live? Be happy to meet you faces to Faces. I live in Maryville.
Joe. I tried the Digitrax Zephyr and personal did not like it better than my E-Z command. Yes, it could read and write CV's and had more power. But, I went with a PR 3 with Decoder Pro for the CV work. Much easier that using a DCC system and it was only $65.00.
I don't know how you like to run your trains, but my self I like to more than one train per main line.I have two main lines and they are good sizes, one is 90 feet and the other one is 70 feet. With the E-Z when you go from one engine to another running at the same time, you have to guess where you had the throttle setting, turn the knob to where you thing you had it then select the engine. That is what I hated about the E-Z. Zephyr is the same way. That is why I went with the SEB, it has the then DT 400 where you can control 2 engines with two different knobs.
Unless you are looking for more power, I would stick with the E-Z and get a PR 3 for the CV's.
Hum Ulrich. The last page did page did not go Goofy till you posted your latest picture!
Rob After carefully rereading your post about the receiver, I think it is broken!
OK, far as the video feeds, they are passive. They will work with either the receiver on or off like a VCR right? One question you did not answer was "does the receiver power up, lights come on rather it be LED or the power button"? While I am far from being a expert I have never seen a good quality pieces of stereo (never care about the cheap stuff I had as a kid) equipment that did not have a fuse. You may have to pull the cover off to find it but I bet there is one in it. Let me know.
Todd Gee thanks for telling us all how great your Truck A/C works!
Yep it was one hot ride home tonight with the Town Car blower motor being down.
Tom OK your engines are heaver than mine. Neither my PCM Big Boy or Y6b have traction tires and they still pull great. I never did understand why there Blue Line and Paragon II came with traction tires, they used the same tooling as the PCM versions. I guess they could have been made from plastic where the PCM's are die cast. I was told by a tech at BLI both where made the same?
Well it took 1.5 hours but the garage is finally cooling down some.
Se you all later!
