Iced coffee, please.
***Garry, is that a wildlife park of some sort near your home?
All the neat layout pics are causing me to miss working on our layouts here. But, have other priorities to work on.
Cooling off under a ceiling fan after making a hay run. Still have 2 bales to put out. Waiting for it to cool off outside a bit. Whew!

Good afternoon.
Ulrich ... I still wish I could have some of Petra's cooking. Good luck with your parnets.
Curt and Ulrich ... Thanks for the comment. I hope some day my situation improves, but I do OK.
Jeff .. Sorry to hear about you Mom. Prayers for her. Your layout look outstanding.
Tom in CA ... I really like that layout. I hope you stay healthy now. Perhaps, we can call you "Skinny" based on what you said about losing weight. Are your cats OK these days?
JR .... Sounds like a lot of work unloading trailiers.
I took these photos near here this past weekend.
Road Blocked by Cows and Calves.
Soon after, the bull shows up. ... Yikes! ... There goes a tail light on the car ahead.
Here are some feathery critters. Barn Owl and Eagle.
I took photos of other animals, but they did not come out well.

***Tom, sure like your layout. Looks mighty fine. Nice Yellowstone, too. And lastly, what kind of Viking throws up from travel. Poor Uff-Dah.
***Stan, cool shay painting and what a thrill that would have been. Good trade, although your friend got the better of the deal.
***Jeffrey, are kids allowed to play on that Pacific or is it fenced in? Couldn't tell you where, but I recall as a child climbing all over several steamers in various parks.
Hot or not, need to do some farm stuff today. Ugh!
Have a good one y'all.
Afternoon folks!
I'll have a turkey sandwich w/ a dill pickle and a bottle of Cheribundy skinny for lunch today.
Got the door painted... Needs to get 2 coats as it is in very bad condition. couple years from now i think i will have to have someone tear off the siding on the shed and put up something new...... 3/4" outside plywood maybe. There is a lot of rotted areas THAT I hope will last a couple more years.
Ulrich, Petra's pies and cakes and a Biergarten??? THAT would be a winner most anywhere! Lederhosen.... LOL I haven't seen anyone in a pair of those since college. A friend of mine who was a Bassoonist (THAT by itself should explain what i am going to tell you), Martin Hoffer was born and raised near Chicago of German Parents. His Mother was a WWII war bride and didn't speak much English so Martin was bilingual as they spoke German at home. The Summer between our Freshman and Sophomore years he spent in the Das Vaterland visiting some relatives and perfecting his accent.... Took a few side trips to Bavaria but didn't speak the dialect they spoke and got called a lot of very nasty things...... He found out what they thought of him later when he looked up the terms.... Anyway he came back with several pair of Lederhosen which he wore while on duty at the front desk of the Dormitory. It also took him most of the year to stop starting a sentence in English and ending it in German..... So People in Bavaria don't all wear Lederhosen all the time, huh? ROFL!
OK, time to get back to painting.

Me again,
I finally found some time (and patience) to do some finishing touches to that grade crossing module (read that, Chris?). All I now have to add are the catenary poles and it´ll be done.
Still have not dared to talk to Petra about my shelf idea - she is in a bit of a fighting mood, so I better play it safe today.
Jeff - I don´t know why your home situation escaped my attention. I hope everything will improve soon - my for that.
Flo, I´d like to have a , please. It is past 7 pm, so the time is right for that. German "Biergarten" (I don´t have to translate that) seems to be the new craze in New York - We had a feature on that on TV yesterday. That´s something for me - selling home made (by Petra) pies and cakes during the day - and running a German beer garden in the evening/night. Now where do I find the funds to open up this type of business? i´d even volunteer to wear "Lederhosen" Bavarian style, although only tourists wear those in Germany.

Afternoon All,
Go into w**k around 1500 today. Last night was scheduled off at 2400 but actually got off at 0200 because I had 4 reports to write. It seems the geniuses in IS decided to do a update to our dispatch system and report writing program. It was supposed to take from 1700-1800, it was actually 1700-2330. I guess I can be thankful that I get 2 hours OT and that I go in late today.
Just got done running another switch test. Had to slightly adjust 1 Tortoise but other than that it looked good. I'll do one more test and then trim the rigid wire. I received my Oregon Rail Supply PRR Signal kits yesterday. I looked at one today and boy are the parts small.
Jeff- Sorry about your situation at home. Does your AC ever leak on your layout?
Ken- Congrats finally on a good sales day. Good luck with the Daytona.
Galaxy- Hope you get over your Migraine quickly and finally get your teeth finished.
Garry- Take care of yourself.
TSF- I don't actually have a favorite. I have drive quite a few brands over the years. I only want it to run.
Stan- Great Shay painting.
Tom- That's a great looking layout you have.
Everyone take care.

Hello Everyone,
Is it too early for a beer? I don't think so but my boss sees it differently than I do.
For what it is worth I put a plan of my current layout up over in the Layouts and Layout building section. I also posted a couple of alternatives I drew up. The current layout will live for awhile because of financial limitations. But I had to do a coul e of what ifs.
I got a chance to clean up the layout some over the past weekend. It seems that I made more progress on my work bench than anything. That happens when I start cleaning. I pick up some ting and take it where it needs to go and get distracted and start cleaning there. when it come to cleaning I have an attention disorder. I will get it done but not all in the same place at the same time. I even ran some trains.
Been very hot and humid here in The Fort these past few days. Monday evening my bedroom was still 88 when I went to bed. It is supposed to cool down some tonight. I am ready. These hot days mess with my asthma. They call them ozone warning days and something else (I forget) but I think they are similar to smog warnings. I told our CEO yesterday that I look forward to w**k because it is air-conditioned in our office. I have a couple of windows units but I have not got them out yet because I am too cheap. They are really too small to do the whole house and I don't like what they do to my electric bill. I drink alot of ice water or other things. I have not tried the Lemonaid thing yet. It is hot enough without drinking tabasco sauce.
Good wishes to all and I hope everyone stays healthy or mends.
Andy
Modeling a railroad hypothetically set in time.
Morning all from Sunny(?)Cal:
It's a balmy 62 here this morning, low clouds from the coast have moved in over the Valley, and when I woke up, I thought I was in Santa Cruz, LOL! Temps are supposed to be below normal the rest of the week and not get back into the 90's until Sunday or so. So far, since January, it's been one of those "If you don't like the weather wait five minutes" kind of years here in Northern California.
Took Uff-Dah the Viking to the vets yesterday for his tri-monthly asthma shot. Fun. Luckily the vet has learned to be VERY fast with him--out of the cage, WHAM! with the shot, back in the cage and it's all over. Well, except for the Vet pulling his gloves off. Uff-Dah rewarded me by throwing up all over the cat carrier on the way home. By the time I let him out in the living room, he'd forgotten all about it. He's a handsome Devil, but he's just not the Swiftest Boat In The Harbor.
Son and Grandson are due here this Friday from Vancouver for a few days. Should be fun--Christopher is growing like a weed. 15 and he's almost as tall as I am. 6'1" in case anyone's curious. He's taller than his dad (5'10"). He got all of his height from his mother--she's of Swedish descent. Now I'll have TWO Vikings running around for a while, LOL!
Jeff: Prayers for your mother--you are not having a Good Time right now, it seems. Your nephew doesn't sound too responsible--how old is he? If my uncle asked me to do a simple thing like take out the garbage, I'd put down my drink and fishing gear and DO it--I mean, five minutes? Hey, love the shots of your layout, BTW. Especially the park--that's a jewel!
Ken: I'm not too good with close-up shots, Either me or the camera, I don't know which (probably me, the camera's supposed to do everything but brew coffee, LOL!). Anyway, here's as close as I can get to a detailed shots of one of my Yellowstones: This is the famous (or Infamous) "Basket Case" I brought home in pieces in a sack from a swap-meet about four years ago.
As you can see, I'm prone to articulateds that have all the 'guts' hanging out, LOL! According to what I"ve read, the M-4 had about 2,000 more pounds Tractive Effort than the Big Boy, and was just a little shorter in length. But what the Hey, the two locomotives were built for ENTIRELY different circumstances. I refer to this particular locomotive as the "Creeper", since it's so quiet and can gear down to an absolute crawl with a train. And believe me, I don't know just HOW, since it's got its original 1964 open-frame motor and drive mechanism--I just replaced the articulated tubing with NWSL Universals. I was going to put a Can in it, but so far there's no reason to. But all 3 of my Akane Yellowstones are great runners and haulers.
Finished hanging the drop-cloth fascia on the layout last night. It's not the prettiest stuff in the world (painter's canvas) but at least it covers up all the 'stuff' under the layout until I can get it organized (yah, sure! ). Tried to take a few overhead shots of the layout a-la-Jeff, but the mountains kept getting in the way. About the only way I can do it is to hang from the garage rafters, and I have Acrophobia, so THAT'S out! Anyway, here's about as close as I could get--part of the railyard at Deer Creek:
And the other half:
That's about it from SunnyCal so far this morning. Going to go out and work on North San Juan Ridge--or run my Daylight again, haven't made up my mind, LOL!
Best to all, prayers to those in need.
Tom

Good morning fellas!
It looks to be a good day to get out on the porch and re start my NKP painting today. I recieved a BLI NYC J1e undecorated hudson in the mail yesterday, and I may decal it outside as well. I'm going to put New York Central Lines decals on it. We're modeling the P&LE division of the Central where it runs with the B&O around McKeesport.
Another busy day at the Salamanca Rail Museum yesterday. A lady and her family stopped in, and she told me her Grandfather was a conductor on one of the RR's here, but she didn't know which. Well, after looking through our file of rosters, I was able to find his name on a BR&P conductor's roster. It turns out that he got his freight conductor's rights in 1921. She told me he died in 1950 as the result of an accident he had on the RR. Now I have to dig a little more to see if I can find out more for her. It's always rewarding to be able to help someone find out some history on their family.
Since there is still no new image to show you, here's another oldie but goodie for ya! This is a 2 ft gauge Shay built by Lima in 1920 that my friend operates on his property not far from here. I gave this to him as a gift for letting me, Dad and my son's all have rides in the cab with him.
Jeff, hang in there, your layout is looking good, and I'm sure you'll find the time to w**k on it. Family always seems to take priority in our lives. As for the Air conditioner, you could put a big Carrier sign on it like they had at their Syracuse plant. I remember seeing it on a video of NYC lightning stripers by Sunday River Productions years ago.
Blueberry pancakes do sound good! I'll take a short stack, ansd a coffee Flo.
Have a nice day everyone!

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a short stack of the Blueberry Pancakes, couple breakfast sausages on the side and some dark roast coffee in a FGLK mug. Thank you Ma'am!
Looks like the place has been busy over night....... I won't even think about expressing my opinion of Ford, Chevy, or any other maker of conveyances. What? Oh yep, THAT's my horse tied up outside.... I'll clean it up when I leave.......
It is hot and dry here in the Finger Lakes again today. Yesterday the temperature was 92°F outside in the afternoon. Today only supposed to reach 86°. I will be outside in it painting more of the shed...
In fact, i better get moving if I am to get the door we took off painted before lunch.
Later!
Good Morning All....Its sunny and 80 here...I'll have a large sweet tea please...thank You...I am working on an old Aurora gon...also a NKP flat....You all have a good one...Jerry
Good Afternoon, gang!
This is day 2 of our hunt for a place for my parents to live. While not really bad, the place we looked at today lacked that extra bit of care which makes the difference between good and very good. From the impression we got, yesterday´s place would be Petra´s and my choice. "Unfortunately" today´s "instutue" has an apartment available in September....
It is past lunchtime but too early for tea, so I´ll just have a coffee, please, Flo!
I have stopped w*rking on my modules for the time being, but just as long as i am undecided about that storage issue. Storing the modules in form of a layout which I can operate at any time has something to it. I will run to our local home improvement place tomorrow, just to find out a quick & dirty (=cheap) way of coming up with a shelving that suits my needs. I also need to get Petra´s approval for it...
Ken - basically, I am with you on that continuous running. The point-to point layout is just for storing, displaying and occasional running a train on it, without having the necessity to clear my desk and assemble the layout.. There is a fear, though, that I might grow that into something larger ...
Glad you had a better day in your store!
Jeff - I just love all those little scenes on your layout. Each one tells a story. And please don´t overwork yourself!
Garry - I am sad to hear that there is no improvement in your health condition, but as long as things don´t turn to the worse, there is still hope. My for that.
Galaxy - I have the impression that the reals estate agent is not doing a proper job. People always value their property too high, and it is the job of those folks to bring it down to a level which follows the market. Keeping my fingers crossed for you on that deal.
Barry - if you put something like that (tunnel tree) on your layout, the RC police will issue a citation for being unrealistic!
Chris - yessir, your comments set my mind on sending of sparks on how to continue with my layout. Thank you for making me re-think the concept a little - why not make something good even better?
Welp, I have finished my coffee now - Petra is calling me to do some minor (?) household chores!
CU and have a good one!
Good morning (matter of opinion). It's 82° and partly cloudy. The high will be 100° with a chance of thunderstorms. The chance is negligible this morning and morning, somewhere around 10% but jumps up to 50% this evening.Another bad news day for me. My parents were supposed to have been on the road to points west in Texas this morning but my mother landed in the ER late last night. My father called me and told me about it this morning when he knew I would have my computer on and could receive calls. Her ammonia levels are out of whack again and the ER docs are trying to get them down. She was barely conscious when she was moved. My sister and niece helped get her to the car (about time they did something) and stayed with my father at the ER until they had to head off to work. My sister works at another hospital. My niece works just down the hall from the ER in radiology. As for me, I'm here at my parents place waiting on the plumber and a couple of other people supposed to come by today, so I'm doing my part and getting bored out of my mind in the process. I'll be calling my father in a little while to get an update on my mother's condition.
Ah yes, I see it now. We still need to have Lee get you a rooftop sign for your air conditioner so it looks like a factory where they added a facade representing what they make there. J.R.
GMTRacing Jeff - I like what I see and there are lots of upgrades. Do you still have the display steam locomotive somewhere in the park or has it been removed? Didn't see it.
Jeff - I like what I see and there are lots of upgrades. Do you still have the display steam locomotive somewhere in the park or has it been removed? Didn't see it.
It's not going anywhere. It's glued to the track with a black tar adhesive. I could pick the park up and turn it upside down and the loco will stay put. You've heard of the proverbial act of congress? That's about what it would take to get it off.
Good Morning All,
Didn't know I was so well off in Quebec. 88F last night when I left the shop and 82F this morning arriving and of course since we are in Ct, lots of high humidity as well. Must be July. Don't expect Pittsburgh to be any better next week.
Jeff - I like what I see and there are lots of upgrades. Do you still have the display steam locomotive somewhere in the park or has it been removed? Didn't see it. Sorry to hear your family has so little regard for your mobility issues. Your nephew sounds like a real gem .
Chris, for the era you're doing, I think the cars are pretty spot on. I don't recall all the graffiti on cars until after the great bankruptcies of the 70's and the not over the top weathering is perfect.
TSF - careful there pal - we might have to add dissing car brands to the verbotten list. We own four Focai, the Fiesta, two Festivas, an Aspire, plus the Excursion and F350 with a Ranger under consideration to replace the Ram50. We have Mopar, GM, and Ford guys here plus the occasional trucker and bus driver so be easy on us. Besides, I bet you've never had to change spark plugs on an 80's Chevy Astro van - I still have the scars from THAT.
Lots to get to and the trailers to unload so I'm off into the shop. Catch y'all later, J.R.
Good morning.
Just back from the doctors in Nashville. My heart failure is unchanged. I always want it to imporve, but am gald it did not worsen. I'm thankful modern medicne allows somewhat normal life.
Welcome to L&N Tim. You said you were originally from south of Louisville. I know the CSX line is former L&N and that is a good location to watch trains climbing up from the Ohio River Valley. Also, it's not very far to the KY Ry Museum.
Where's Ulrich? JimCG? Der John? and several others?
Happy Model Railroading!
Hot Morning From The Midwest.
Flo, how about a fruit cup and a Diet Dew.
Big Boy Vs Yellowstone Like I said I would love to have one, and a H-8 latter. There is no war, both are great looking engines. I think the reason I got hooked on the Big Boy is the fact they are longest steam engine made. Plus the nick name is pretty cool as well.
I sure like the looks of Tom's Yellowstone's and still hop he will post some close up shoots of them.
Sure hope Crandell drops by the dinner. He was a big help when I was trying to figure the mystery's of model railroading.
See you all later today.

Good Morning!! Just coffee please. Oh what the heck, give me a stack of blueberry pancakes with butter and blueberry syrup and a couple strips of that thick cut brown sugar bacon please. Thanks. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 101. Local weather guru says the heat index got up to 111 yesterday. I must admit it did feel a bit warm. Suppose to cool down ten degrees for tomorrow and Thursday then back up to the 90’s. I think I’ll wait to mow Wednesday and hope their weather predictions are right. Though I did not do what I intended to do yesterday, there was sufficient activity to give me insufficient time to visit Toddland (of which I’m king). Never heard of a Derecho before. Now you watch, every time I turn around, they’ll be talking about Derechos. Don’t know what I’ll get involved in today. Right now our current weather is exactly that of Lee’s, but later… Oh well, I have to w**k tonight so I’ll spend most my afternoon looking at the time or figuring out what I can do before I have to stop and get ready anyway so I might as well stay home. That’s why I don’t really care to work evenings. I need to get down stairs. Rob’s got me worried about centipedes and millipedes now. Never gave them a thought before, just spiders. Shoot, they could have been moving into Brenda Lee’s B &B and now have squatters rights.

I have to buck up at least to take MOH to the Eye Dr. I have to go to at least drive back as MOH will have eyes dialated and so will not be able to drive home. Then will sit around for 5 hours while it wears off asking when it will wear off!
FOr those who have not seen the thread Crandell {Selector} is leaving us as a moderator after all these years. He can let his hair down now so to speak and speak amongst us commoners.
House front: well we haven't heard by 6 pm last night, so our agent will reiterate our verbal offer with a 24-48 hour deadline for response, and another 48 hour deadline on us to put formaly in writing if they wish to see it in black and white with proof of how it will manifest itself. Chances are they either won't respond, or will counter with something higher. Our offer is based on the $10K-$15K reductions we see most house in that price range take to get down to the reasonable price the market will actually bear, but that generally happens after it has been on the market 90 days or more. WE are offering it as the house has only been on the market for about 20 days and growing. AS far as we know our offer is the only one they have gotten. ANother 70 days down the road, and 2 price reductions later, they may remember they once had a very strong offer they passed on that would have given them just what tehy reduced the house list price to! People here overestimate the value of their houses and think htey should get every dime of the list price they make. The houses that are priced reasonable to begin with sell in less than 10 days on the market, because they are priced right. The holdouts for hihger prices usually expire the 90 listing contract, then re-list with anohter agent at teh same price it didn't sell at to begin with!!
KEN-smart move on the window A/c just besure to measure that it will fit. WE bought one and had to take back cuz it wouldn't fit once. Now we measure twice and install once. It should do a decent job at cooling the LR {family room} and Kitchen area for ya. I'd say if the central A/c can't keep it below 80* and is running all the time, it has a fault that is very serious. May only need a charging, but if it is as old as you say... Also you should save on the electric bill as teh C A/C won't be sucking it down so much. Unless you take it out for winter, I would suggest yyou get some rigid foam, cut to size to cover each side of the A/C and get a proper A/c cover to cover it for the winter. That keeps ice from forming and damaging insdie the a/c during colder weatehr. MAybe you already know that and do that with the C A/C, if not, then do so.

BARRY: THAT storm THAT went through was a derecho, the mother of all "bow line echos." Winds of 80, 90, maybe even 100 at times. Lots of destroyed corn crops in the path of this thing, the city of Dysart apparently has no home/business left untouched, and the historic Braile and Sight-Saving School in Vinton was heavily damaged. Seems we (Clarence) were on the southern edge of this beast.
You can read more about them here:

On THAT happy note...my West High Women of Troy won 7-1 tonight in a Class 4A Regional Semi-Final. IF they win Wednesday night's Regional Final, they go to State in Ft. Dodge next week. My Clippers of Clear Creek Amana should be going as well. I presume the Solon Lady Spartans won their Class 3A Semi-Final tonight also. I could theoretically have all three of "our" schools playing in the State Tournament next Tuesday in the first round. THAT would mean the first game starting at 1:30 PM and the last starting at 7:30 PM...

What the heck happened in here? I heard there was a couple of bands and Bill was here really cutting the rug. That makes two nights in a row he’s been dancing. Think he won the lottery or something? Cruising around the forum, I noticed they sure do talk an awful lot about Model Railroading. I think I’ll have to try that sometime. Oh wait…I have a layout. I almost forgot. I’ll have to get back to it sometime. Saw where Crandell is “retiring”. Good for him, I hope not bad for us. I thought he did an outstanding job.

Rob- Nope no centipedes. Yet. I see more millipedes in the basement than centipedes though I do occasionally. So far haven’t seen any millipedes hanging out in Gold Creek or the Tourist Trap Town. Of course each has a tavern so maybe they are in there? If humans can’t get two feet to function when they get a snoot full, can you imagine a millipede? Might just not be able to get out.
Jeff- Layouts looking good. I’m gonna have to clean off mine as well. I think it’s still downstairs where I left it. It should be anyway.
Hmmm. Looks like I’d best get in early for the big Big Boy vs. Yellowstone showdown. Wonder who I’ll go with now that I know more about them. I like the clean looks of the Big Boy, but I also like looking under the hood of a car too and seeing all the workings. Kind of a beauty in the rough. Then again, it's just on the front from what I can tell. There's still a bunch o stuff all over the sides of both……hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.
Welp, the dog just woke up from her nap and says it’s bedtime. She oughta know, she’s been up for at least 4 hours today. Don't know how she does it.

Evening Folks!
Flo, I will buy a round tonight and I will take A GREAT BIG BOY sub and 2 tenders of onion rings! Oh, don's for get the Beer and in a UP BIG BOY MUG! So take that Tom.
Work Front While one good day does not make a month, today was a good day with $2020.00 in sales! I had bragging rights over Shaun today and passed him in standings. Gave him plenty of stuff over the phone.
A/C Front Looks like I will be buying one Tuesday or Wednesday. Guess I am going with Home Depot this time around. They seem to have better prices than Lowe's.
It very well could be this unit.

It is 8,000 BTU, 5 years part and labor and I can return it with in 30 days and is $199.00. It is all so energy star rated at 10.8. All the GE's I looked at where none returnable.
Our central A/C has not turned off for 72 hours now and the house is 80 degrees and holding. Wife called me at work today to tell me how hot the house was.
On the Dead Dodge Daytona front. I think it was Ray that asked. Well I am not ready to dig the hole just yet. But, I did find where I could rent a backhoe. I will install 2 more plugs and hope for the best. If it dies on the way home I will call a salvage yard and get what I can get for her.
If the plugs do not clear up the miss, and she make it home then i will do more testing. and working on cars is much better than sweating behind the store with no.
Ulrich I am not a point to point person my self. But as long as you can make a loop but yet run the layout in storage then go for it! Thanks for the pictures as well.
Tom, are you looking for a fight? Hum, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to me the Big Boy is rolling art.
Now if your idea of a great looking engine looks like a Plumber's Truck Blew Up and all the pipes are hanging on the outside of it! I know why you love your Yellowstone's .
Of course I know you know I am kidding with you, as far as you know that is! I hope to again have the need funds to buy some more steamers (or anything at this point) and when I do, I will be looking for a Yellowstone. So my Big Boy can beat up on it!
See you all later.
Big Boy Ken
Boy am I tired tonight. Remember what I said this morning about getting started on the layout and someone would call? I was just getting a really good start and my father calls. They're going to Captain D's and my presence is requested. No, make that required. I didn't have much of a choice. Other family members were approached but they had other things to do. One wasted no time getting started on his lawn. Another was at work. My nephew disappeared not that they wanted him along anyway. When it comes to drinking he could give W.C. Fields some very serious competition. So I went with them. As usual the stop at Captain D's was the first of more stops to come. The bank, Lowe's Wal-Mart, the list goes on. Five hours and some change later we're back home. Now this evening I asked my nephew to do something for me. Something very simple. Move four trash cans to the roadside so they can be emptied tomorrow. He drank some, called friends some, drank some more, put a fish finder on a boat that hardly runs, fixed trolling motor control on same, then the friends show up. I know now that he's not going to move the cans. My knees are already from the past week and today didn't help any. So I moved the cans. While I can walk somewhat pushing or pulling something is very hard. So I dragged each can slowly and carefully out to the road. It took the better part of twenty minutes with my knees and my ankle screaming at me all the while. While dragging the fourth can my back joins in and I'm feeling really miserable. I get the last can out to the road. Relief at last. It's seventy-five feet back to the door of my trailer. I had to stop three times to wait for the pain to subside enough to move again. By the time I reached the door I was moving very slowly, just carefully moving one foot ahead and desperately trying to keep my my balance. Just open the door and go up three steps and I'm there. After a few more minutes I'm inside. I close the door and collapse onto my chair and just let the pain go crazy. I'm still sitting, too tired and in too much pain to move. It'll get better eventually and I'll be able to get to the bed, only about fifteen feet away. Now tomorrow I have to go down to my parents place. They're going to be out of town and the plumber and a couple of other people are coming. Guess who has to be there. Me. Why can't I get a break!
