Chamomile tea, please.

***Garry, I see you found an old photo of me mowing. Those were the days. Sadly, now I am relegated to a riding mower. Thanks for the memories.Smile, Wink & Grin

***Ray, that's a great story.

Other than regular farm chores, set two posts for a gate today and not a whole heck of a lot more.

With so many trees gone and loggers removing more from nearby hills, the trains rolling through the nearest town are quite easily heard now.Cool

Have a good night y'all.

Sir Madog

Some of you folks must have sent the rain you´re having over to us. We are in the midst of a bad thunderstorm. Add to that torrential rainfall and even a twister!

Roads and walkways are flooded, as well as basements. Haven´t had it that bad for long. TG we are high and dry in our flat.

CU tomorrow!

 Morning All.

Boy I was up way to early this morning, 5:00 AM.

Flo, eggs over easy, hash browns and sausage links and a Diet Dew please.

Still day dreaming about a better amp and a guitar.Whistling But, it is just not in the budget. I like the guitars we have, but just a little small for me. I sure miss my Gibson ES 335.

Going to try to get Shaun's guitar working today. Hoping some contract cleaner will do the job. Problems seems to be in the amp jack in the guitar.

Yard Wars With all the lawn mower talk guess I better break mine out today. Have not cut the grass in 3 weeks! While the front needs cutting, still not that bad. Rear yard on the other hand, well lets just say I wish I had a bush hog.

Plus I have a lot of running around and bill's I have to pay. I use to like to pay bill's, not any more.

Ulrich did send me a conversation, he did get up last night and played with the trains! Big Smile Well, i have done the same thing my self!

 See you all for lunch.

Morning All,

Another hot dry day. Tomorrow rain chances improve to about 40% and stays there  thru the weekend.

I wanted to work on the layout today to finish wiring to Turtle locations but I now have several errands to run today and tomorrow. Oh well maybe Sunday.

All the photos posted in the last day are great including the modified onesSmile

Well I have to get going. Talk to you later.

Good Morning!! Coffee with steak and eggs please. Um, Kansas City Strip medium rare, eggs over easy, and baked potato with sour cream and butter thank you. Steak sauce? No thanks just a bit more butter on the side please. A good steak needs no sauce.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. I may need a jacket tonight, it’s suppose to get down to 58.

Well, (getting lower here) Sit down guys, I’ve nothing to say. Nope. Not a thing. Other than yesterday it took all day to make a three sided sign for the Foundation. Brenda got to see first hand how the simplest jobs in Todd’s world take forever through a series of “you have GOT to be kidding me’s”. Other'nat nothing. Oh and;

Barry- I’ve only heard and seen a picture or two of those record players in the cars. Never seen one in real life. Did it play well? Seems to me….don’t see how it could.

Welp, since I have nothing to report and since there was no dew this morn, by 9 am I plan on mowing the field I call a yard. (don't like to raise a ruckus before nine.) Might make it ten.

OK folks, it's that time of year. You may receive an email supposedly from IRS.gov telling you they can't process your return because you or your spouse didn't file the proper forms and that you must send back the forms with proper identification attached. Folks, if the IRS needs something from you they will contact you via the US Postal Service. And please DO NOT open the ZIP file attached to the email. I scanned it and it contains two (2) Trojan entries (Trojan Horse Downloader.Generic11.AVCA) that will collect any information stored on your computer and send it back to whoever sent the email. If you get one of these and have ANY doubt about it contact the IRS and ask them. My mother has been a tax preparer for many years and she knows their procedures forward and backward. She took one look at this and had one word for it. SCAM.

Mornin'

Zoe, is today redneck day here at the diner....  well give me the breakfast surprise plate then, and a whole lot of dark roast coffee in a FGLK mug.  Somehow i think i may need several cups to wash THAT down......

Barry, I seem to remember those 45 players worked best when the car was parked and both occupants were occupied in the back seat......  Ah, better not go there I guess. Wink

Last 4 words of a Redneck:  "Hey Ya'll Watch Theeiss...."

More Advise From A Redneck: "Proper use of toiletries can forestall bathing for several days.  However, if you live alone, deodorant is a waste of good money."  And remember, "Dim your headlights for approaching vehicles, even if the gun is loaded and the deer is in sight!"

Currently 74°F on its way up to 81°F here in the Finger Lakes.  Had about .3 inches of precipitation over night and some more coming along this afternoon...  guess I better go mow the hay field in the side yard while the sun shines (above the cloud cover making it dark, gray, and gloomy outside).

Later!

Good Morning All!

Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this cloudy Thursday morning other I went railfanning yesterday afternoon and saw 5 trains in 2 hours-not bad for a afternoon outing.I am thinking of heading that way later today.

Slate Creek news (sounds like a newspaper (Laugh ) I cross check all my cars on C55 track and out of 67 cars I found 23 cars needs their wheels changed out to low pros.Oddly enough all are older Micro Trains cars and in that light the jury is still out on C55 vs.C80..

I shall have a cup and look over the forum.

Have a good'un! Thumbs Up

That would be correct. Though if you are entitled to a refund, why oh why would one wait til April 18th {this year} to file and not get it back by now?

The IRS willl NEVER send you email or phone you. They will contact you in writing via the United States Postal Service.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT EVEN OPEN SUCH AN EMAIL.

ALSO if you Have ANY personal Info on your computer {such as Social Security Number} in, say, a word document you wrote and saved that you sent to somebody who needed it { say, a letter to a credit reporting agency} BE SURE TO DELETE your SS# and put XXX-XX-XXX in its place after you print the necessary copies and save it to your hard drive.. If you EVER need to refer to that letter again, THEN you can RETYPE in your SS# in it if need be. SAme if you write a bank account # in a letter.

Also, while it may seem logical to keep a listing of passwords for various things {such as this forum} on the computer, DON'T DO IT. Keep a written notebook of your passwords in a safe lock box somewhere you can easily refer to if necessary.

Not everyone can afford this, but if you BANK or INVEST by Computer, MAny finacial Pundits recommed you buy one of those small "notebook computers' to use for THOSE PURPOSES ONLY. AND DO NOT surf the web or go ANYWHERE that is not a bonified Financial/Bank site on that computer. A Dedicated $300 computer with ONLY your financial stuff on it can be a LIFESAVER if someone cracks into your regular system.

ALSO remember MOST banks or Financial instiutes ALSO may contact you via any other means than a computer email. If you get such an email- DO NOT CLICK THE LINK IN THE EMAIL to "their site" as it may be bogus. GO and LOGIN manually by typing in the address you KNOW to be correect for them, or PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL YOUR bank or Financial REp personally to ASK ABUT AN EMAIL they SUPPOSEDLY sent you!!!

Be on ALert at all times. Or else you could fall victim and loose a lot!

Fair WArning!

Good afternoon all! I missed everyone yesterday, we had a lot of activity here at the museum. I did have a chance to finish the recent painting of B&O 5243 at Carrollton NY, here's the completed painting:

I'll be starting a sketch of my next painting this evening hopefully.

Ken, I like the classic shot of the Pennsy T1! That's a locomotive I haven't painted since High School some 30 years ago. I had the copy of Trains magazine from the 50's with a large article on the T1's and they always fascinated me. It's a shame the Pennsy didn't save one with the rest of the Northumberland collection. Oh well, that's why we have model railroads!

Everyone have a good day!

Good Evening,

Petra and I are just back from visiting my parents. Today is the start of the summer vacation season, so it took us over 4 hours to drive back the little over 100 miles.  We stayed only a couple of hours there, as my mother still gets easily exhausted. For that reason, the planned family reunion did not take place. It was a little sad - not many couples live to see their 60th wedding anniversary these days.

Tomorrow I will start to lay some track and maybe pour the "water" into the creek on the bridge module. It is supposed to be a clear mountain creek, but I am insecure, whether to color the river bed before pouring the stuff, or leave as it is. Opinions?

Flo, just a Beer for me and ask Stan for his favorite poison, please.

Stan - I am awed. That picture is just fantastic! If you don´t mind, I´d like to use it as a wall paper on my computer!

Well, that´s all from me today - I am a little tired from dpending so much useless time in our car.

CU tomorrow!

Afternoon folks!

Flo, I'll have one of those RBFs please!

Just mowin' in the rain, just a mowin' in the rain,
What a glorius feelin', I'm mowin' again.....

THAT said I have half the lawn done!  Went out this morning and started in and as soon as I got a couple times across the yard, it started to sprinkle.  Said, "To "H" with the rain and kept on mowing until it was coming down good and steady.  At THAT time I headed back to the shed, emptied the grass catcher in the garden, ran the mower into the shed, and plugged it into the charger.  Then I went into the house, which means the rain suddenly stopped and the sun came out......  Decided to feed the cats and have lunch.  Sun shown the whole time I was in the house.  After lunch, went back outside and instantly clouds showed up.......  Kept mowing until It was out of battery which was approximately the same time I ran out of steam myself.  I will tackle the front yard this evening if the storms hold off.  The humidity feels like about 110% outside today.  The air conditioning inside feels gooooooooooooood!

More Advise From a Redneck:  "Dirt and grease under the fingernails is a social no-no, as they tend to detract from a woman's jewelry and alter the taste of finger foods."

Think I will mosey down stairs and finish the washing...  (and maybe play in the rain room for a while.)Smile, Wink & Grin

Ray, every day it doesn’t rain I’m out there cutting the grass.  The Virago grass seed I bought for the bare spots is coming in about 7” taller than the rest of the yard with clover.  Not sure how that happened but I’m not too happy about the clover or the tall spikes of grass.

Howdy everyone,

Hope you all don't mind if I come in and sit a spell. I been in the diner nearly everyday recently but have not been seen and I have remained silent. I am so glad I now know the difinition of rivet counter. Up until a few days ago I thought it was a counter in the hardware store.

Somehow  I am at odds with a redneck that would say "here hold my beer". In my opinion any self respecting redneck would never let go of their beer...unless it was empty. In that case it would probably be launched at the nearest bicyclist.

Stan..your paintings are marvelous! I have a picture of the Nickle Plate Road 765 under full steam from last fall I would like you to see. As soon as I get a photo bucket account or whatever it is I will post it for all to see. Maybe I will even throw up a picture of my layout.

I certainly enjoy reading the posts here and other threads.

      Take care everyone!

Well my day has been as follows:

Got up at 6 am, took my parents dogs to the groomer at 7 am, Got a little time to make a post or two, changed the bandage dressing on my foot, took my mother to a doctors appointment at 10:30, Waited for her to finish with that (1:15), we went to lunch, dropped a prescription off at the pharmacy (thankfully they have a drive through), went to the groomers and picked up the dogs then took them and my mother home. I got home a few minutes before 3.

That's pretty much my day shot. Tomorrow I have to take her to a rehab clinic in town that has a free lunch on the last Friday of the month. At least I'll get some kind of a lunch out of that.
