Be glad you got the Toyota Yaris that gets what? 156 to 210 MPG? I would LOVE to get a half tank for JUST $14.60 istead of $40.00 or more on either the Kia Sedona Minivan or the Dodge grand caravan! MOH would too! Ray, you "green" headed gas sipper you!

Nuff said about that. I have another doctors appointment Monday in Leesville for a general physical and routine lab work.

TODD could take a lesson form you and me, we abbreviate our "private" Dr.s visits to bare minimum, and leave gorey details out. I survived mine with flying colors...take the PSA on Monday the 17th before i go in for back surgery. SInce my father's father died eventually at 93 of problems caused by Prostate Cancer, and My father had Cryosurgery to freeze out his Prostate tissue {the idea being the cancer no longer has tissue to feed on and less invasive than a radical prostate removal} so I am PRIME candidate for Prostate cancer, direct 3rd in line easily. I do take two meds so I can pee on my own {I Know TMI}. But Prostate cancer is nothing to be sheepish about! MEN! Take heed and get checked out!
TODD proving death is often times harder than proving births. You need to only order/pay for about 5 copies of death certificate {keep one to yourself} and just send photcopies of it to most places who want the death certificate. A few places will really want the stamped Notarized copy so that while you need a few that you pay for, in most cases a copy will do. WE found this out when my mother died 7 years ago. SOme will only look at, photocopy anyway ans return to you.

Ulrich Good looking engine. Something you may all ready know but about 1/2 of the Tracks A Head series has segments on Japanese Railroading. I have been watching them on U Tube.
Vincent I have wonder if there might be some lose or bad wires in the Y6 b. After I work on the track, if that does not fix the issue I will open the engine. All so need to check and see if the tender is still getting power to the decoder. BLI seems to have a problem with that for some reason and worth checking out.
See you all for Dinner.

Good Morning Folks,
Zoe, coffee and a big breakfast with all the works, please.
Dinner yesterday evening was really nice. It feels so good to have some kind of a social life again. It really boosted Petra´s and my spirit.
Not much planned for the weekend.Maybe i will be working on that cabinet design for my layout. It´ll be raining all day long, so I´ll better stay inside.
Kvetching about gas prices - it costs me $ 115 to fill up my little Renault...
Have a good weekend!
Edit: My payment to PayPal has just been credited to my account, so I could make my payment for the loco. Never thought I could be happy to pay a bill! Now my little "Japanese beauty" is on the way to Germany:

Worked on the retaining wall behind the Fire Station on wife's (HO) layout. Also put in place the last tunnel portal and some touch up sheetrock mudding elsewhere on her layout. Still soooo much to do, sitting there resting a bit I started feeling overwhelmed again.
Oh, I ordered a cheapo little spy camera from HK. Should be able to capture some video from the wee little folks perspective on the wife's layout. We'll give it a try from atop a flat car.
Not much else to report on. Hope everyone is doing well.
Cheers! Rob

I'm a small town boy. A product of two people from even smaller towns. I don’t talk on topic….. I just talk.
Larry, I like the free lanced and club logo on cars. Currently on my layout I’m collecting rolling stock from Great Lakes railroads. I only have a few from local layouts but I keep my eyes open at the train shows. I thought the BRC was hand lettered, I haven’t seen one before for that road. I’m watching for a FP&E (Fairport and Lake Erie) box car to finish up my collection of Ohio fallen flag RR.
Ken, no problem.
My trip to Macomb township (north of Detroit) to see my kids has been cancelled. Weather guessers finally stated we will get 4-8” along the Lake Erie shoreline and possible ICE/SNOW between Toledo and Detroit between 0700 and noon tomorrow. No sense in risking the drive when I can wait until favorable weather conditions to prevail.
Hey guys.
Now that I don't have to do anything for the next few days, I can finally get to getting all of the car updated. Got the new quadrant and firewall adjuster in today. Gonna try to some tricks to get the new bushings in. the larger ones are a bit too large to get into the holes.
Also been chipping away at that essay. about halfway there.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Evenin' folks!
Flo, just a decaf for me right now......
Been an interesting day. Hopefully i have everything I need packed for the meet tomorrow. Got an email this evening saying they will let us in the back entrance at 8AM. Main doors will open at 8:30 which is when registration starts. Went to the $ store to buy certificate frames, then to the grocery store, and then down to the gas station. man, has the price of gas gone up here in town since the last time I was there about 3 weeks ago! It cost me $14.60 to fill up the Yaris!!! (Ok, it was only half a tank down, but man!). The rest of my "belt Drive" workshop items arrived today so hoping next week I will have them ready to install.
As I was getting supper tonight, I looked out the window to see an ambulance driving by slow. Inside lights were on so I figured they were working on someone. Not 5 minutes later another ambulance goes by the same way, inside lights on with the usual emergency lights going..... Don't know if it was 2 separate calls, or part of the same incident. Didn't hear or see anything else.
Guess I'll get ready to turn in for the night. Have an early start tomorrow!

On the Home Front. Finally installed a new front door knob set today. Our old one besides being a pain to unlock became total unsafe. It was a pain to unlock from the inside by twisting the little knob in the center. Sue sometimes could not get the door open, in case of a fire she might not be able to get the Dogs out!
Old one was the kind where you could not see the screws that hold the 2 half's together. Watched a few videos on U Tube on how to take it off, no go. It was staying! Being a knuckle drag-er at heart, I broke out the 2 pound dead shot hammer. It gave in after a few wackes and it gave in!
Problems where still not over, new bolt was around 1/4 longer than the old one so I had to chisel out the door a little. But it is in, and works well.
TMarsh For now, I have to understand why an insurance company needs a death certificate to cancel a policy (a cancer policy so no use). The yearly dues are due by Feb1. I called to cancel they said they need a death certificate to cancel I said what happens if I just don't send in the premium. She said they'd cancel the policy. I said then why do you need a Death certificate. I'll just let the policy lapse. She said they need one for their records.I said why? What's the difference? She said this way they won't keep sending reminders. I said, " You want me to pay $5 a copy so you won't have to send out a couple reminders to renew a policy that can't be renewed? I tell you what, you do what you want. I've informed you she has passed as a courtesy. I'm not going to renew. Send all the reminders you want. Have a nice day."

Lee Sorry I did not get to call you, Sue had some honey dew's come up, then I just plan forgot. Need to see if there are in new listings as well.
Galaxy While I will be back at the dinner before your surgery, want to wish you good luck as well.
Train Front Y6 b is driving me nuts. Clean the wheels of the engine and tender today. Flipped it over and check to see if I have wore the plating off the drivers. Still no copper showing. Made it around the bench two times and started stalling again at the same spots? Couple of the spots do have rail joiners, so maybe flexing is causing the lost of power. Yet my Big Boy that weights more (but is longer) does not stall, neither do the other smaller and lighter engines. Did pick up a new track cleaning car hopping the older ones pads are worn down to where they want clean the spots the Y6 b do not like. Made no differences so far.
See you all Saturday.
Just dropping by for a nightcap before I hit the hay.

I set off for my doctors appointment at 7:45 this morning. I cheated a little bit. I parked my van at my parents house and grabbed my mother's car. It gets better mileage. Soon after I turned out onto hwy 171 south I came around a curve and saw a long line of fire trucks lined up along the far shoulder of the northbound lanes. I only got a glimpse of the house that HAD been there. A large 2 story place. Now it's all on the ground in a big pile of smoke blackened bricks and burned and melted metal. I went on to DeRidder to keep my appointment and got all that wrapped up near noon. On the way back I stopped at the New Llano post office to send off a package then stopped at the bank to make a deposit then went on to the hospital here to get a PSA test done. That was near 1:45 when all that was done. I went back past the fire scene and saw one of Sundown's (the dept I work for) trucks still there so I stopped to talk to the chief and asst chief for a bit. They had been there since just after 3 am! They were just wrapping up putting out the last of the hot spots. Our motto is "We don't leave until the fire is OUT!". That means we don't even leave an ember burning if we can help it. I finally got back a little after 2:30 and joined my parents for tacos. Oh, and the result for the visit to the docs office? My prostate health is much better than it was a year ago. Nuff said about that. I have another doctors appointment Monday in Leesville for a general physical and routine lab work.
Lee retired? Ha!
G- I haven't replied in the positive, but you can be sure that whether I mention it or not, you are in my prayers for this surgery, (or any procedure in the future) to be safe and successful. I hope this one works to give you some relief.
Larry- I see the two lost sheep are more than just a couple of boxcars. They have sentimental value as well. I hope they show up soon.
Attorney's visit went well. Gave me some advice on pricing the house to sell. He does some title work and stuff so he has a good idea of the price ranges that are moving and those that are not. Sounds like we should start closer to the original accepting price. That will not be much lower anyway. Besides, it doesn't appear Mom will need it to live in a retiremnt community anymore.
Afterthought; Ray, does the MAC have a ketboard that makes it easier to type without mistakes? If so, I may be inclined to make a swityh swotj swtich .........(sigh) SWITCH!

Afternoon,
Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts going out for me for Monday's surgery! I will need them ON Monday too! Though, if I post anything after, I will not be held responsible for anything I say, do or think when recovering from anestesia!
Went and did a bunch of errands including picking up my repaired watch, and going to Bed Bath and Beyond to turn in a coupon and get my discount on a mattress cover we bought the other day. SHHHHH!!!! if you didn't know this secret about them.....1} if you forgot to bring your mail coupon in with you, return later or a day or two later with it and they will give you the credit towards your purchase anyway, and 2} Even if the coupon has expired, they will take it, so don't throw them in the recycle just cause they are a few days old and 3} if you make a purchase, and your mail coupon shows up a day or three later, see #1!! SHHHHH! though and tell the Other Half so they know too!!! A 20% off coupon there is nothing to sneeze at sometimes.
SO, what else is new? Dunno.
The US Postmaster called me as we called to report a shredding of mail received. My {small} local PO had stamped it "received damaged" but it was a credit card statement and someone could have looked at the CC number, though I could not see it through the shredding anyway. I might just call and cancel that card {again-it was the one that was comprimised last year} and have a new one re-issued just to be safe. I received another statement form the same CC co last year mangled. MOH works part-part time for a small CO. that is 45 mins. away and they mail out the paychecks from PayChex {I'm sure a registered TM} and we have had 3 that came 1}shredded, 2} torn in half, or 3}muddied-stepped on-and 6 weeks late. The PM at the PO I talked to said 5 pieces of mail came in shredded today alone to their small office. AS I told the PM who I talked to...no wonder the USPS is falling out of favor if they can't deliver mail whole and not shredded, mangled or 6 weeks late!!!! I don't mind junk mail getting amngled, but CC statements and Paychecks...important stuff like that should come through clean as a whistle. But not the junk mail! They take "extra care" with it must be! I'm sure its those wonderful big expensive sorting routing machines {some of which are locally built here by Lockheed Martin} which are mangling our mail. SO much for better, faster service!! Whew! that turned into a

What I can do in my spare time at work. Far as using the internet at work, one of the things Chad (he is training me) told me we could surf the web and watch U Tube. I think it was Tuesday I called Jeff, another store manager and asked if we could bring in small DVD players so I could watch movies? He told me he was watching TV when I called and just about anything goes as long it is not Adult Videos. So as far as the internet goes, I am fine I believe. I will double check Saturday to make sure I am right.
Working on train stuff. If I do it, it will not be where customers can see it. We have a backroom where we store mattress for customers take's. I can see the show room so if a customer comes in all I have to do is get up and shut the door.
What I will do, is after I have a good day (not going to ask after bombing 2 days in a row) if I can work on models in the back room on a card table when we are slow. That simple, if yes great, if No not a big deal.
Far as keeping the store clean, that is a given. I run a neat store, and Mattress Stores are pretty easy to keep clean anyway.
See you all later for lunch.
Good Morning! Coffee please. Thank you. Don’t know what all today brings. Then again do any of us. First thing is an appointment with the Attorney at 9:30. Gotta sign some papers I guess. Then I …..don’t know what will surface for the rest of the day until w**k at 5. My sister did finally come over yesterday. Big sob show. She appeared to really be upset. Actually she seemed more upset about not being here and not knowing than her actual death. I can see that. I was nice and understanding. I do however wish they had said when they called the day of the visitation they were in Las Vegas then, instead of waiting until now. It may have saved a lot of raised eyebrows and rolled eyes at the funeral home. And not to mention some hard feelings at the ole homefront. I’m not real sure they couldn’t get a flight back by the next day, but admittedly if they couldn’t get into Springfield by 8pm, they couldn’t land there. Don’t know about Decatur, but they could have rented a one way car at St Louis. I’m not gonna suppose anything. Maybe they couldn’t get a flight out in time. I do feel at least a little bit better knowing they were on vacation out of State. Buuut (again with the buts) there are a few things about their “actions” I have issues with. But that’s me. I have too many things to worry about without worrying about that. It’s cold and I want to play with my trainset. It’s a perfect day for it, but alas it doesn’t appear to be in the cards just yet.
