Jeff  Yup,know about the one click, but when it copies,I get everything highlighted except the first [img].   The tech at Photobucket has sent me things to do and try, done them and it still doesn’t work.   I have a friend in Pa that might be able to help me out after I tell him what they have said.  He is like you, self taught and has helped me out different times.

Had 6 tacos and a small taco salad for dinner then went back to soldering more track joints. Murphy has been playing his part to the hilt. This or that being in the way, solder tip working loose, cord not long enough, new solder doesn't work quite as well as the old type, etc.

Ulrich, You and Petra move in with Sue and I and that would net us $3285 a month. Plus you have a good sizes train layout to boot! Big Smile But, you would have to go HO scale. We split the utility's and house payment and Petra could guard Sue against a possible mouse attack! Laugh If only life could be that simple.

 Two question for Ulrich.

1 How do I make each line a different color.

2 Grade and elevation. I still have not got the handle on using it. I can get all the line at one height. But I have yet been able to change the grade and get changes in grade. Lets see if I can make that anymore clear.

Ken - seems to be a good idea, teaming up, but two women in one household? I doubt that this would work Whistling

2 answers for you.

1 Click on the track you´d like to have a different color. Remember it needs to be detached from the track you´d like to have unchanged. Eight click and select properties - lines - color. Select your color. Now go to the tab Filter and click on the box Line color and the box properties acc. to Filter. Click OK and the track should have the color you want.

2 RTS does have a feature to allocate different heights to track, but I never found out how to use that function. I guess you have to allocate a height to each track segment. - too clumsy for me.

It´s back to bed now!

 Evening AZ.

 Flo, beer please.

Train Front, Beer Train (Pearl) is making the rounds with it new addition. Vincent got the pearl car yesterday. I mailed your Auto Rack and junk parts today (sorry Sue had the car yesterday) and I splurged and extra 15 cents, you should have the Auto Rack Friday.

Ulrich and JR Yep i am liking the new idea more and more.

 Two question for Ulrich.

1 How do I make each line a different color.

2 Grade and elevation. I still have not got the handle on using it. I can get all the line at one height. But I have yet been able to change the grade and get changes in grade. Lets see if I can make that anymore clear.

Good Afternoon All,

Missed my morninh coffee as we were off to New Hampshire to drop cars and pick up one of our clients "toterhome". This a a well used Kenworth full size chassis with the big motor and a 13 speed trans. Needs some mechanicals and a lot of cleaning up but it mostly all w..ks as intended so it might be worth purchasing. That would allow me to get rid of my smaller version that goes 30mph up hill loaded.

Museum night tonight and back on the iNvisible scale display to do more stuff. Once the track is finished, I have to start on the rest of the scenery - mostly large hat factories that used to surround the yard.

Ken and Morgan - that's starting to look really good. I agree the turntable will need moving/expanding to be usable.

Hope Ken gets his gummint stuff sorted out soon. And Ulricxh - I know it sounds simplistic, but you need to keep faith with yourself as well. On the plus side, when you did get an oppourtunity to interview, you landed the gig so your "chops" are still good. Something else will present itself, hope fully sooner rather than later.    Time to get back at it,  CUL, J.R.

Having trouble with Photobucket’s newer version with posting pics, that’s why I use the Email part.   Isn’t technology great??? Super AngryConfusedTongue Tied

Photobucket now uses a 1 click method for copying links. Just left click where it indicates which tag you want to use (eg: IMG code) and the link will be copied to your clipboard. From there you can paste it into anything you want it in using your regular method (right click paste, ctrl-v, etc).

Galaxy - meine besten Genesungswünsche für Deine Schwiegermutter - my Angel for your MIL. I do hope everything turns out to be fine again!

Ken - Petra and  have to run on $ 1,500 a month. Deduct $ 740 for the rent, $ 50 for telephone/internet and $125 for electricity - that leaves us with $ 585 (German prices are about 20% higher than yours!) for food, clothing, meds, gas - not enough to live, but too much to die.

I like your new track plan idea - yup, you´r heading the right way!

Morning guys,

The MIL has taken a turn for the worse and is now in the hospital with possible pneumonia. At 83, that could be bad, very bad. SPecial thoughts and definite prayers are needed for her, please. Angel Angel

Well that will take up most of the day and has blown us off course. Other half is there now with her in teh hospital with the FIL. I have a Doctor to deal with today of my own or else I would be there too, may pop in after I see the Dr. and get my scripts filled. MIL kinda needs someone there to translate for her because while she does speak good English, when she's ill and out of sorts, she slips back into German.

Hope it's not an omen for the holidays, as my other half won't be able to half stand it if the MIL passes at holiday time!

Went and dun didd me turkey shoppin' early tis mornin'. We uns gonna have us a berd fer TG day! 13.45 poundage. At 20 mins per poundage...about 4.5 hours-5 hours roastin' time in that there oven. DElishus!

I shouldn't talk that way, you all will think I really am a backwoods country boy Hick!

well I have things to people, places to do, and stuff to see.

Jeff..nice weathering on "cookie box"..

Thanks, the weathering on the body was done with AIM powders, the trucks and wheels were done with a combination of AIM rust powder and RustOleum rusty metal primer.

Sir Madog

Jeff - nice pic!

Thanks. I do so enjoy patching UP units. The weathering was done with AIM powders and Valspar clear frosting. The decals were printed on tracing paper.

Sorry your job opportunity fell through. Hopefully something else will come along.

Mourning AZ

Flo. just a Diet Dew Please.

Ulrich I wish there was something I could say that would make you feel better, but we both know there isn't. If Misery truly loves company  then you and I should be best friends.

Last week I said I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. My unemployment was due to run out in the middle of Nov and I knew that. Guess around August I asked about the extinctions I head about and would my dollar amount change. I was told "you are funded for the extinction, renew automatically and the dollar amount would not change".

I normally get $824.00 ever 2 weeks. Last check my original funding ran out and the check was for only $260.00, so I was short $564.00. (so what happen to the $ amount would not change?) Went to the unemployment offices to see what was going on. This time I was told that while I was funded, and the dollar amount would not change there was No Guarantee I would get the extinction. I should still call in on the 24th, and call and see if I got paid on the 26th.Talk about no giving me a warm and cozy feeling!

Even if I get paid, I am still not out of hot water. They are not going to make up the missing $564.00 and I cannot make the house payment before the end of the month. Am afraid I will go into fore-closer.

If I don't get the extinction, today after I pay the electric bill and buy dog food I have $30.00 left to my name.

So Ulrich I know where you are coming from and sometimes it is hard to pull your self back up. I know I am having a hard time doing so my self.

 On to a Sunnier subject.

Morgan Well I like this last plan the best so far. I need to study it more. Could you E Mail me the RTS Plan? If it is not listed let me know, I am 99% sure it is still there. All sp let me know if or when you sent it.

Playing with a different idea far as the bench. This time no not a around the room. Would you call this a folded dog bone? Sure does no look like a dog bone.

Down side to this plan so far.

1 Left wall where the yard is, is 4 foot wide. Now, with it all being straight I might get by with it.

2 No room for the turntable at this point. While it is still there, it is the smaller one that RTS has listed and it will not turn my Big Boy or Y6-b. Plus at this point there is no room for the engine house.

3 Little boring at this point.

 Plus side

1 All lines should have more than 100 feet of track. Longest will be around 112 feet.

2 Might be able to get the town in on the bloop.

3 All outside turns at this point is 36 inches or better.

 See you all latter.

Good Morning All!

Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this cold and damp 38 degree morning..No modeling yesterday. I fooled around on the computer and went grocery shopping.I have no big plans for today.I did see 2 NS trains while out and about yesterday.I have seen a set pattern..NS will be extremely busy one day and slow the next..I suspect that may be cause by the new Federally mandated require time off.Should make railfanning easier.

I shall have a cup and look over the forum.

Have a good'un! Thumbs Up

Todd - no, the consultancy job was directly linked, so that´s gone, too!

I feel very empty.

Edit: I just checked the box my loco came in and found not only the missing handrail on the combine, but also a near complete set of D&RGW decals from Champ decals - with the price on: 25 c!

Good morning. It's 71 and cloudy. The high is expected to be 80 and there's a 40% chance of showers.

Only thing on the schedule today is to get some track soldering done. I'm sure some other things will come up though.

Good Morning! Coffe to go please. Gonna try to get my stuff done prior to 10 am when the trucks come. Then I can finish, or rather do some odds and ends til noon giving me the first part of the aftrenoon to do some things around here before I go to w**k at 5 then, while at work, Brenda will bring Mom……here. Tonight as opposed to tomorrow. So I wanna get outta here by 7. 7:30. 8. 8:30.

Larry- I know what you’re saying about TV. Few and far between is there something to watch.

When I do get a chance to, I usually end up on either the History, Discovery, HGTV, or sometimes of a late evening TruTV. Occasionally SciFi has a good show or one goofy enough to be entertaining. Other than the occasional burp of a decent showelsewhere, the TV is usually just on for something for the dog to watch. She doesn’t seem to care what’s on either. She does seem to like the Forensic Files and The Investigators type shows on Tru TV

Ulrich- I don’t know what to sayAshamed. I’m sorry just seems so empty right now. Is the consulting job still going to continue? That is something. And NO! I have NOT given up, and you should not either. Giving up is not you.

I take it when Duke clicks the Post button his too seems to sit and take awhile. Prompting the reaction to wanna click post a second time.

Great work from all of you who posted pics. I love them. Thanks.

Der- I wasn’t suppose to have confidence in German craftsmanship? Why I always did think they were some of the best craftsmen in the world. Oh, I'm sorry. I hope that wasn’t ethnic stereotyping. Wouldn’t want to offend anyone.

Robby- Had the same feelings on mine. (layout that is. Not MIL(chuckle)) Suggestion.. Do not take the layout down until you find a plan. Or create one. Look at the plan and keep checking others out also. Just in case something changes your mind. Then take the layout down once you are really sure. Nothing worse than finding out you like the new layout less than the first or find a track plan yo ulike better. Of course that will usually happen anyway so don't wait for ever.  I hope you don’t get halted just as you get going like I was.

OK, I’m gone now. At least I'm outta here by when I'd hoped. Whistling

Good Afternoon,

it is a gray day, dull, with lots of snow flurries and temps at 30 F - very early in the season.

Chloe, I´d like to have a mug of coffee and a slice of that apple pie, topped with some vanilla ice cream, please.

I am not in the mood for anything today. I completed my work this morning, knowing that it is in vain. Somehow I feel much older today - no dreams anymore.

 Good rainy morning.

I don't know why but I've been in a bad mood lately.  Maybe its due to the MIL coming, sells on eBay, me turning older in a couple of days.......who knows.    I'm also thinking about taking down the whole layout.   Just start over again.   I have 12x15 feet of space and I don't feel its being used very good.     Plus I have the upper part of the layout not being used at all.    That is taking up space also.

Maybe today I can look up some track plans and see what I can come up with.  Other than that, that's my day.

Mornin' ladies. Could you pin these up? Yep, it's more of Ken's Spaghetti Central plans. I know, sorry to be handing off mail like this, I'll talk to my Sups and see if I can't get an RPO brought out, I think there's a few in the Grounds that haven't been converted to crew cars. Nothing  for me, I;m on my way back out. Thank you kindly!

Goodevening Diners, and thanks Ray, I'll have a green tea please!

Soapbox please Zoe,SoapBox and a JR Regular while I rant.!....Grandkids presented me with a defunct (they didn't know that, to be fair) MRC Tech2 Power Pack they got in a garage sale.  Only the Power Monitor lit feebly at full power. So, I figure it's maybe the transistor that's toasted.  Get inside (not super-easy thanks to the screw holes being  too narrow for the  handy-dandy driver set I have with the proper  head for their fancy screw headsBang Head.)  Have a look at the transistor,  not a case I've seen before. Trace out the wires from and to it, so that I can identify the collector, emitter and base.  Search the web under the code printed on it (D1230 6A3) "No results for your search" - like ANYWHERE!  email MRC  Support with the situation and symptoms; ask for their suggestions. Get a useful reply very quickly (no soapbox needed for THAT Thumbs Up) Search under the replacement # MRC gave. Bingo! Found it first time, and it has the correct case and specs. (still NSR)  Order one ($1.44) OK, now I need that soapbox again...SoapBox."Your order is below the $10 required to place an order, buy something else" Since I don't need to do that, I phone our local (Dartmouth) specialty electronics supplier (and, no, we don't have Radio Shack anymore, they went to Circuit City and almost complete electronic parts uselessness some years agoBang Head.)  They had none in stock - had 66 at their supplier and they would be $10.00!!!!  "How come I'm looking at $1.44 on a web site in the US?"  I give him the url and he looks too-  "That would be about $1.75 with the exchange" (A liberty since the exchange rate is $1.47 tops this morning!) "Then", he continues, there's the shipping - it would be about $13-15 by the time it came here."...."Our supplier in Montreal would have to get it in, ship it to us, and then you could come in and pick it up."....Long and frustrating conversation short, we settled on a compromise where he gets one from another supplier and mails it to me  - my cost $7.50. I'm not happy,Grumpy but I'm doing this so I can get a better DC supply for my test / running in track (see below) than the ancient Fleischmann Transformer 712 I have now.  OK, Zoe, you can put the soapbox away again - thanks.

Day's major accomplishment so far has been that the van now has its snow tires fitted. It was such a good looking afternoon that I decided to move that task up the week's schedule - and there were no hitches if you discount having to take a 2x2 (actually a piece of window frame left over from the reno 13 years ago) to the tire iron on the driver's side front to get the nuts to start loosening.  Great if one has a flat - going into the woods for a handy branch to knock sense into wheel nuts put on too tightly Angry  If I had a hydraulic jack, and a torque adjustable impact wrench it would have gone faster, but then, if I could afford those, I could afford to take the van to the shop and have them do it!  By the time I was done (tea time) the washing was beginning to freeze on the line, so that became Job 1!

Jerry:  I like the transfer caboose - those things look very different.  Do you remember Noah was doing one around the time life (girls?) took him from our list of regulars?

Ulrich:  I'm not giving up hope on the job thing for you - and certainly not giving up praying for you guys. No, it isn't fair - it's a crying shame - especially when our news is about how Consumer Confidence in Germany is on the rise!  "Standing on guard for thee"....Angel

Larry:

I did find out there isn't a thing on TV worth watching...What happen to TV? Everything is reality or boring.
...not any better here. Saturday is pretty much a waste-land for TV, unless you are sports oriented that is.Even the new version Sherlock from the UK that PBS has begun to show was pre-empted because of their incessant fund raisers.

Vincent:

John, why you gotta patch a BN loco on me?
.....but then it is N, so the pain is WAY less! Clown

Galaxy:

Yep. Noted teh plates. Ontario and Quebec were the noted  plates of the Canadians who flew past us at about 90 MPH and cut in and out of {mild} traffic like they were in the city.
...figures!  What we see along the shore in the summer (...and don't stop coming, we need your touristy dollars!) led me to think that would be the case.Whistling

Garry: Bread factory is looking great! Does it have a "Day old" outlet? Smile, Wink & Grin

PC: Good to hear your boy is coming along well.  Being able to flex the knee like that has to be a good sign, right?Angel

Before I weathered the GP& I removed the glazing and number boards, naturally. On coming to re-assemble, one number board was missing. Detailed search of every hiding place known to man....nada. Forensic audit of the vacuum cleaner's dust...nada. Third look at the floor of the train room...and there it is near the desk. Great relief, and here's everything put back together. It's on the test track - this shot shows a bit more of that. The GP38-2 in the background is on an unpowered section that I'll get power to via a kill switch.  The whole thing would fit right inside Galaxy's new Christmas display with room to spare. The track length is 87 inches on the main...that's 0.22 miles prototypically speaking.  The power can be switched between DC and DCC with an 1/8th inch phono plug.

Welp (young dog?) it's THAT time again, so I'll say Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers of course for all in need of Healing, Comfort, Prosperity and Peace.Angel..and Ulrich there is light at the end of this tunnel!

Evenin' folks!

Flo, just a decaf for me right now.

Just got home from a Boy Scout Troop meeting.  A couple boys  are finishing their Music MB and their counselor who started working on it with them is no longer registered to do the MB.  One of the Scouts did the last requirement he had to do for me tonight, but doesn't have a partial from the old counselor.  As soon as he shows me the signed partial, i can sign the blue card for him to get the Merit Badge.  Several other scouts appear to be interested in the MB so I went over their choices on requirements.  We'll see if they actually get started on it.

PC, great news on your son.  I hope he will be up and running around soon.  I'm keeping all of you in my prayers!

Been picking up and putting away most of the day.  Tomorrow starts the dusting and vacuuming, washing, and scrubbing........  I did manage to find the wood surface on the dinning room table.  Knew it was under there somewhere.  Packed up and sorted a year and a half of NMRA, Smithsonian, National Geographic, and Model Railroader Magazines most of which have never been read......  Now, where did I hide the furniture polish???

[edit]  Looks like late night snacks are on me, so order up!

OK, back to w**k!

Later!
