Good Morning,

Today: Rain, mainly after 3pm. High near 50. East wind between 7 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Tonight: Rain. Low around 47. Breezy, with a east wind 14 to 22 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

I added the bricks to the beet pit and started to scratch build a conveyor to unload the beet trucks/wagons.  I also have to build a H frame to dump the trucks and wagons, in the 50’s not many farm wagons had hydraulic systems on them.

Thoughts and prayers to those in need, looks like we have a few that need them this week.

Good Morning Folks,

Petra is off to her teaching, so I have a little time to spend on my own.

Zoe, just a coffee, please.

I gave my treasure a good cleaning and took a couple of pics which I´d like to share:

My humble beginnings of my HOn3 empire! Looking at these picture - I was a dang good modeler, aged 19 - much better than today.

She needs lighting installed and maybe even a DCC decoder, but that will have to wait - better to start on the layout!

PC - my Angel for your son´s surgery today

Galaxy - AngelAngel for your MIL and your wife!

You all have a good one!

Hello ...

As you may see in these photos, the Chapel Car is coupled to the Diner in a special train.

Prayers for PC's son's surgery tomorrow. Also, prayers for Galaxy's MIL and also his "train nuit's" wife. Prayers also for needs not mentioned, but the Lord knows of them. While we are at it, we may PTL for Ulrich's job and other blessings not mentioned.

Paul W. Beverung

Morning Gang:

Here it is 3:26 am and I'm here at the puter instead of in bed asleep. It happens. Anyway I thought I'd drop in and let everyone know that we're ok and doing well.

I'm not doing much of anything on the MRR, too many other things going on. The ranch is taking up most of my time and Mary Ann and the grand kids the rest.

I did get the new Hiawatha from Fox Valley the other day. It looks really good. I have heard that some of the locomotives have running problems. Mostly wobbling and excessive speed. Of course the class As were run normally at 100mph +. I'm just happy to have the first Hi in my collection.

Well I guess I'll get back to bed and try to get some sleep.

My best to everyone.

Paul! good to see you again! ... I hope you have time to enjoy the "HI", and I hope Mary Ann is doing well.

 Boy another trying day.

Flo, Beers are one me. And I will take a dozen or two my self. Big Smile

Spent another two hours with a Charter tech today. This time it was the phone / internet. Originally he came just for the phone, but found a bunch of line problems and band aids the other ones used to half way fix are problems. Are they right now? Have no clue because each tech that comes out claims to be a expert! So who knows? Whistling

Then I made my self a big heaping plate of WHAT THE HECK DID I DO NOW! If I was not on the sites, I would used a different word than HECK.Big Smile

My old (note the keyword is old) computer ran hot when I watched CBS.COM. I asked about cleaning it in general discussion and then PM a IT tech that comes to the site. His advices was sound so it was not his fault. But you know me and electronic Bang Head Big Smile Yep, I killed it, won't boot up. Tuesday I am going to double all connections and reset the P/C to the mother board. Would like to get it running again.

One I am on now,the specks are better one than I had. My old one had a 2.4 Pentium, 512 MB of RD Ram and 40 gig hard drive that still had 14 gigs open. This one is a 2.8 Pentium, 1.25 of Ram 80 Hard Drive and a Ethernet card. I can no longer complain about down load speed. I got a 27.1 gig download speed on speed test. com. I had all the real important stuff saved on my Lap Top or my Thumb Drive, but something are still lost for now.

Vincent If you have read the above, you know I got sidetrack far as getting a shipping cost and reading your PM.

Todd, Galaxy and Der5997 Last plan I posted is out, I liked it but the con's won out.  What sucks is I had a new plan I spent a couple of hours on today and it was coming a lone nicely. Guess which computer it was on! Bang Head

Time to mess with the new computer some more and look for missing software.

 Might see you all Tuesday.

Hi guys,

Extra special thoughts and prayers for my MIL.

She hasn't been out of bed now for 6 days, and doesn't recognize anyone anymore.

WE fear we shall loose her soon.

Thanks

Hey guys

Raining today, so can't really do a whole lot. Heard a bunch of Sirens when at work today. Either the new sherriff is finally cracking down, the snowbirds are here, or more cases of local driving inability. Odometer gear showed up today, but still no pulleys.

Say does anyone have any of the trucks that came with life-like train sets? One of those is late 70s-early 80s ford pick-up. Would work well on the Bilevel autoracks I have.

Rob, not likely you could PM me more shots of that BN boxcar? Did you have an MNS one like the one you did before too at the show?

Ken, Check PMs

Garry, Perhaps your inbox is full?

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

So, Jeff, is it your job to raise your nephew now? It'll be a "project" for you.

Nope. He can take care of himself, and if he can't that's his problem.

Hello ...

The migrating pelicans are here now on their way sourh. . They usually are here from mid November until mid December. In the Spring they will visit again for about 4 weeks, and then they fly north. This morning, we had a large flock of at least 100 pelicans.

So, Jeff, is it your job to raise your nephew now? It'll be a "project" for you.

Ray .. I like your structure very much.

Barry ... I hope you do not have to wait too long o get your ICD implanted. Mine saved my life as I have said here in the diner before.

Larry ... At lest you can hear the NS. I do not live near a railroad now. I do hear and see barge tows, however. Some tow boats sound like they have EMD power.

Ulrich ... We have airline frequent flyer points, and I hope that will get us across the Atlantic. It may be best to wait until winter is over so trees have leaves and it is not too cold.

Early this December, we're going to AZ. It'll be sooner than we think. Using airline frequent flyer miles for that too. We don't frequently fly anymore, but these miles are leftover from when we did. I really do not like flying.

Mornin' everyone!

I slept in late this morning so I have worked up an appetite.  Zoe, I'll have the French Toast with a side of Bacon, and lots of pure Maple Syrup as well as my dark roast coffee in a FGLK Mug.

Jeffrey, you sure you didn't overdo the dance a bit causing the back pain????  So when does the Nephew move in to the neighborhood?

Ulrich hope you get to feeling better.  Sounds like the blood pressure might be up a bit with the headache and the heart not behaving......

Jeff and Lee, If you want guaranteed rain, I can see if Troop 3 here in Geneva will come down and camp in your yard........Whistling

Galaxy...... ROFL!  For the uninitiated.........  The Kümmelweck roll (Kümmel for Caraway Seed and Weck meaning roll) is topped with shaved roast beef drenched in the jus it is kept hot in...  Yeh the bottom part of the Weck is drenched in the jus, then I can add as much of the horseradish as I want.  It is often served with a small cup of "jus" to dip the roll in as you eat. Delicious!  Beef on Weck is believed to be a dish created by a a German Baker who emigrated to Buffalo, NY from the Black Forest Region of Germany.  It is still a very regional thing, but is spreading as people from Western, NY move to different areas.

Here is what I spent the time I was not talking w/ people yesterday doing:

I put a few more photos of it in WPF.

Later!

Good morning. It's 52 and cloudy with light rain. The high will be 64 and there's an 80% chance of rain.

After a decent nights sleep my back feels much better. Seems like rained most of the night so everything outside is quite wet. That's fine by me as it's been dry enough here lately that a cars exhaust could start a grass fire. I have 2 Bachmann freight cars in front of me that are nice and shiny and are practically screaming for some weathering. I was thinking about starting on the wiring for the structures today but I think I'll hold off on that for a few more days. One of my nephew's friends asked me what kind of battery I have in my van (top post or side post). I told him I have a side post battery with top post clamps. After he said 'That's impossible. You can't connect top post clamps to a side post battery' I raised the hood and showed him. Sitting right there was a side post battery with the two top post clamps attached to it with 2 charging posts. After he picked his jaw and eyes up off the ground he asked me where I got the charging posts from. I told him 'O'Reilly Auto Parts' but just about any auto parts store carries them. That was my laugh for the day.

Good Afternoon,

well, the sun has set, so it is time for a Drinks

Thank you Flo, that RBF looks gorgeous... Whistling

The MIA list is quite long. I wrote an e-mail to Keith about 8 weeks ago , but have not received an answer. I am really concerned about his well being.

Sam did drop by, also some weeks ago, but I guess he is so entangled with his new job as an engineer he does not find the time to stop by. I do hope the missing ones show up for us to know they are OK.

My old ticker is acting up today, so I was not up to much today, other than doing the household. Petra´s back is still screaming at her, so she is pretty much immobilized.

November is not my month ...

Good morning All!

Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this cold Monday morning other than I didn't make it to the HO club yesterday..I ended up sitting up a 4 track switching layout on my dinning room table and switch cars for 2 hours-I still have no clue where that time went but,it flew by.NS sounds busy this morning-about 2-3 trains a hour..To bad I am stuck inside on this cold morning.

I shall have a cup and look over da forum.

unless your roof leaks! Looks like some good rain for awhile down your way on the tele..

Had enough roof problems from Rita to last quite a while. Fortunately FEMA paid enough to replace the missing panel and construct an over-roof.

Good Morning! Fried eggs and Spam please. Yes, Dark Roast coffee. Thanks.

Bookwork, then house.

Garry- For me, skipping around is a must. I get impatient and do not like waiting or working and seeing no progress. If I have several things I can do, while something is drying, or if I run out of something, or need something, or get to a point where you are just tired of doing it for awhile, there is something else I can do to change it up a bit. Of course, since I’m starting over again, there is plenty to do so that is not an issue.

I see Paul has been here. Still have quite a few to go, Ryan, Inch, Keith, let’s see, Bama, Eric, um who else…. The list goes on. Odd about Keith though. He was a very frequent poster. Then poof! Gone. I sure hope nothing happened.

Robby- That’s good. I wouldn’t give up entirely on shows. But after this last one, I would ask more about the shows, weigh the entry fees and base the amount of cars available based on that. Like we all said, good thing there’s eBay. That really opens up your customer base. That’s all it is. Who’s there that day. Some days Cherry pies sell well, next time can’t seem to give a pie of any type away.

Well, I best get moving. Gonna be cold today high of only 57 with “sprinkles”. Won’t that be tasty? (something else I was gonna say Confused…. ) Oh ya…,

Ken- Naaaah. I like where you were going with the last plan better. Did you happen to notice the list of things you didn’t like about this plan? That oughta give you a hint of how much you’re gonna like this versionThumbs Down. Wad it up, try again. Galaxy's right. If it won't fit, don't force it, re think it.

Gotta go!

Y’all have a Great Day now ya hear?!!!
