Evening all. Just doin a little catching up...

Garry, very funny! With all the snow we've got, I'm starting to feel like an eskimo...

Todd, I have no clue what you said about colors, but OK!

What, Ulrich, did you say spring? Pfft, I wish...

Sam, I can actually believe that. They have to pay those older guys more, so they may wanna get rid of them first to save some $$$...
Are you still running out of Bay Head? I was down in that direction over the weekend, and saw 4372 leaving for LB Friday evening and X233 rolling through PPB today, and was wondering if you had either of those trains.
X233 was cool to see. It had 4031, 4032, and 4029 pulling a  6 car Comet salad of IIMs, IVs, and Vs. It would have been neat to see at full speed, although it was crawling because it was coming off Brielle Draw. With 12,600 hp and the PL42's acceleration, that would have been pretty cool! Thumbs Up

Chris, I guess if she likes the colors, and you like the trains, then THAT's fine!

Sign - Welcome puddlejumper!

Well, I got about half of my chem/algebra paper done, so I'm in pretty good shape.

I'll be in the back.

TMarsh
Aaaah Ray, doesn't he just have the life? Roast Beast, blueberry PIE, fire in the fireplace, monstrously heavy coffee tables. Doesn't have to remember all sorts of different names for his siblings. Boy he's got it made.

And don't forget the Vanilla Ice Cream.......Wink Wink Wink  My usual answer when anyone asks me how I am is, "Life is Good!"  Might just as well enjoy it while we can.

What is the news from your neck of the woods today?  Good I hope!

It's a bit like my family in here. My late father in law was Ray. My wife's niece's husband is Ray and there are two more in my family....I guess there's a lot of smart mothers around to choose such a wise name

Well up to this point, apart from spilling plaster all over my car, I'm just starting on doing some basic scenary practice on some small pieces of board before I get into the "real thing" and I have some more hardware to purchase, namely a couple more loco's and some decent rolling stock.

Edit: Names in bold are the ones I initially forgot to put on the list - Dinner is on me, folks!

Wow, what a long list! Have I missed anybody? I hope, not! Whatever the guys (and gals) are having, Chloe, put in on my tab for the day!

Oz-Ray, let me give you a little background on this place here. The Diner is owned by a chap named Vinnie - the guy, who is sleeping in the corner booth. Psst - don´t wake him up - he is a mean fella and a no nonsense man. Chloe and Zoe - they are twins - run this place, with the occasional help of cousin Flo and Janie. They serve you any food you like, if you treat them kindly and stay polite.

This is the place to go for your morning coffee, lunch or supper. The place to have a chat with your buddies (that´s us) after w*rk  (we don´t like this word in here), just like in a real diner or a mrr club. If you have read some of the posts in here, you have noticed, that not all our posts are model railroading related... Whistling. As long as we stay somehow in the framework of the forum´s policies, this is being tolerated by our host, Kalmbach.

Once we have run through about 50 pages (takes us about two weeks) , the switcher moves the diner to a new track in the yard. Right now, we are out of town at Milepost 25, but I am sure, we will soon be moved to a more convenient location (and without all those critters).

So make yourself comfortable and enjoy your drink - it´s on me, y´know!

Have a good day!

Turkey stew, please.

***Ulrich, at a glance, I believe you missed Rob (me) and Robby (weathering pro). May be others!?!

I splurged......might need a C449W down the road to keep it company. Would have prefered SANTA FE, but the price was right. Not a mention of any of this to my wife though.Whistling

Finally spent some time in the train room. Started making rocks (with tile mortar stuff) around part of the little canyon area that overlooks the carnival/circus grounds on the wife's layout.

Past time to do late night critter rounds. Have a good night y'all.

 Hi,

just little ol´ me again, for a short stopover. Chloe, make that a bucket of coffee for me, somehow I can´t get going this morning.

My final copy of MR was in today´s mail. I wish I could renew it, but that won´t work without a credit card. I guess I will have to do without my monthly reading pleasure until better times are back again. I talked to my dad about it some time ago, but he did not catch on, sponsoring the next year´s subscription. Oh, wll, relation - Banged HeadSoapBox

Keith - sorry, I did not go to my LHS - I just can´t afford the gas for this trip anymore. But there is still that "Dream, Plan" - thing - just forget the "Build" for the moment.

I knew it - I blew it! Yessir - I´ll go back and correct the list.

(You know what it means for an old man to run all the way from downtown to Milepost 25? Puff, puff, wheeez, puff - this running back and forth makes me feel like Scooter from the Muppet Show - a horse, a kingdom for a horse, of course, an iron one!)

Anybody else I missed? Well, there is still Mark, although he only very rarely shows up, so he is not gonna go on the list - oh, well, not again ... Whistling

Good morning.  Its coll, but no snow.  Maybe a inch or so tomorrow night.

Well I have to call a job and see about a interview.  Hopefully I can get one.  Its not closer to home, well its actually right below FedEx.  Just more money.  The draw back......Its mainly 2nd shift.  UGH!!

I gotta mail out a car to United Kingdom this morning.   The shipping is normally $10.00, but the box is off a inch and its $25!!!!!!!!!!!   A INCH!!!!!!  So I will have to "tweak" the box.

Jim....I guess the best thing for me to do at that hobby store is, to just inspect the car all over!!!

Ulrich.......That is a list you have going.  I didn't know that many of us come here.  No wonder we move ever other week.

Rob....That's a nice looking engine.   I've been wanting to do one for myself.  Kinda like the one on the cover of "Done in a day".  The book is by Kalmbach.

Jeff.......I've been meaning to say, the boxcar looks pretty good.

Well I guess I better make a phone call, and get a box ready.  Have a good morning.

Good morning. It's 46 and cloudy with rain imminent. The high will be 50 with a 90% chance of rain.

Gonna be a wet one today! And why not? This is the day I gotta go out and pay bills. Yesterday I put up four more of the solar Tiki torches. That's a total of eight now. On two of them I took out the factory installed NiCd batteries which are rated at 1.2 V, 600 mA and replaced them with Eveready NiMH batteries rated at 1.2 V, 230 mA. Just after sunset all eight lights came on as they should. Six ran down during the night and went out but the two with the NiMH batteries were still lit up at 6:45 this morning and didn't go off until sunrise. Take a wild guess at what kind of batteries are going into the others. I figure the NiCd batteries will work OK in my remotes, postal scale, LED tester and magnifier. Nothing much on the schedule today except paying some bills that can't be paid by mail or internet and I have to get the grocery shopping done before my cupboards look like those of Mrs Hubbard. I may be able to get some more weathering practice in today but it'll probably be late.

Given that it's a brand new month, it seems apropos for the diner to move to a new location.  Here's the newest address.  Happy conversing...
