Good Evening, Chloe, I'll have a bowl of chicken noodle soup, a roast beef sandwich on whole wheat with the greens (no, no jalapenos or peppers, thanks), a tall glass of Ed's OJ, and a CAW mug of hot chocolate, please 'n' thank you!
Chris, sorry to hear about your nap getting interrupted, but I chuckled (a bunch) at your description of the evening's mishaps, including SuperTrooper's arrival (in all his radiant glory - and sunshades, no doubt...). Hope you're getting caught up on your sleep (or will soon). I, for one, appreciate all the folks (volunteer or paid) who go out on those kinda calls, at even the worst times of the evening or in the nastiest weather. Do ya suppose maybe on Super Deputy, that maybe he was busy somewhere he shouldn't have been, doing (or not) something he shouldn't (or should've) done (Like at his girlfriends - on duty - or somebody else's girlfriend/wife/etc., or taking a nap, whatever), and figured he had to look like he was VERY busy trying to get there, but the locals just 'happened' to beat him there? (Not saying any of those actually were the case, just wondering out loud...)
Todd, after reading Ulrich's suggestion - or was it Robby's? or both? - about the tinted primer, I'm thinking that if you added some green (opposite pigment to red) to the grey primer, it might be more likely to neutralize any red cast. Or have you figured out something else you like better (like my power sander idea...)? And after reading about your "evening out" with Missy (better be careful or Rerun might get jealous, after reading how I phrased that...), you'd better not get worn down and tired, or you'll be joining Chris and me in the 'sick booth' in the back! And did I read correctly, that you're not gonna wave at the plow people in the morning - well, at least not with all five fingers?
Ulrich - on your question about the scale (setting aside that I'm already invested into HO scale), I would lean toward HO scale, but one major reason is, I prefer switching to 'running' trains. Must be that leftover 'engineer' in me, I suppose. Aside from your scale arguments, you might list what things you want your layout to include, in order of preference, like (sorta) this:
Again, that's only a rough list off the top of my not-functioning-at-its-best-currently head. You can make your own list, which will include what IS important to you for YOUR layout (of whatever size). Also, there may be some on your list which you want down the road, but can delay for now in order to move up how soon you could start. Just my ... 'cause in the end, you are the person who has to be happy with it (well, Petra also, if you want to continue enjoying the benefits of her culinary skills).
Robby - did you see the link that Tomcat had to the other site where he had even more images than what are in the layout forums here? If no, email me and I'll email you or post it again. Yep, I saw Pennsylvania mentioned on tonight's "Snowmaggedon" piece on CBS (along with other similarly 'blessed' areas). "You know you're getting hammered by the weather, when the weather guy does a piece with the netw**k primetime news anchor..." The pallet factory is looking good, too! I'm guessing the covered open area will be for either wood (raw materials) or for the (finished) products awaiting shipment? I like the painting, except it needs more weathering... If you could take a Dremel brush wheel or something to wear off parts of the signs, that'd be 'authentic'-looking, too.
Oh, watch out on the Preiser 'pallets' - they are not 'square' (equal-sides) like we're used to on this side of the pond. You could check www.kingsmill.com (under 'HO Details', I think). They have laser-cut (real wood) pallet kits listed on their website and they look pretty good (I haven't built my set yet).
Garry, I can tell you are SO broken up about having to stay home and w**k on the layout... (Post pictures of your progress, please. Thanks!) Glad you have power for this go-round, anyway!
Vincent, good job on the ('light') weathering on the caboose and boxcar!
Jeff, sorry to hear that your doctor's still saying to wear that danged contraption. Are you sure he (or she)'s not getting a weekly commission for each patient using one? I'd begin to wonder... Good that your power wasn't out overly long, and great that your foot is healing so much!
Chuck, I found your album, but only one photo in it - which guy on the bikes is you?
Ray, I like Chris' sharing attitude (how thoughful and generous of him!) - if you need some more bills, I have some I'll be glad to send you.
Rob - I'm not sure about the go-cart kid, but what brands of the others has your wife seen? I know W-S and Preiser have some of the children with bicycle types (Preiser may have more modern ones). W-S has one called "Bicycle Buddies" (I think) - you could check their website. Look under Products -> Figures -> Scenic Accents (submenu under submenu under the Products menu at the top). Since they have N scale and HO scale, maybe you could get the N scale for the smaller kid on a (smaller) bicycle? This site carries Preiser and shows their figures (but you can write down the product # and get them at whoever has the better price).
PC - is there supposed to be a driveway under that dirty snow somewhere? That is NOT a friendly-looking evening out, that's for sure.
Inch - I (including the former teacher in me) laughed at that story of yours - hilarious! About like one year, I was (fill-in for the year) teaching at a small parochial elementary school, and it was springtime. All the classes were out at recess, and the teachers are standing around, watching the kids, but far enough back that they (probably) couldn't hear us. One teacher asked another (who had a handful of a boy as one of her students), "So, Sally - do you think you'll make it to the end of the school year?" To which, without a pause, Sally responds, "Yes, but I'm not so sure about Charlie..." Ah, the joys of teaching!
Keith, at risk of being mistaken, that's a nice li'l caboose there...
Well, I'm almost caught up - about to lunchtime today, so far, but another couple of pages to go. I'll hope to get caught up the rest of the way tomorrow morning.
Everyone get a good rest (preferably sleep) tonight and drink your OJ, so you don't wind up with THAT pestilence/plague THAT Chris and I have been suffering with... Prayers for rest and quiet for all of ya (including Preston Blake!).
Blessings and good night all,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Evening all. Today went well with Mom, she.... Ooooo! Is that cheese cake Petra sent in? I'll take some even if it's not before Mark‘s cat dives in. Oh and some coffee too. Anyway spent the day with her and she was happy to go to Ryan's Steak House. That's one of her favorites. $4.99 buffet. So pretty good price and today, I must say the food was really good and the dessert bar had yet to be destroyed.
Jim- So Athearn is similar to Bachmann in that one must try to get the Genesis? That's good to know as I do the E-bay hunts for good deals. I mean really good deals. At least to me. I figured Athearn was good but Genesis was just better detailed. Thanks for the heads up ‘cause that just makes my "willing to pay" price lower for it. So far however, my "willing to pay price" is waaaay lower than others. Of course if anyone were to ask about Bachmann standard, I'd have to respond that I've had no problems with mine and it is a trusted loco, so I would assume the same for Athearn. Oh, the paint is for the layout area. And ya, I know about the prices. The 40 bucks is for all three colors, but it just irritates me to pay that much for such a small amount of ink.
JohnP- Prayers for comfort in the decision you have to make. As an animal lover, especially dogs, it saddens me to hear of your situation, but Tom is right, it's what is best for your little four footed family member that needs to be done. Again, you are in my prayers.
Don't think I'll get to the train room tonight. Tomorrow, as of now, I have no plans until work at 5 p.m. so maybe tomorrow I can do some more work. Maybe a picture to document the progress.

John P, I will second what Tom W. said. I think one of the toughest decisions to make is what is the best for a pet. Good luck with the whole ordeal! I had to make the decision to put down a sweet little cat that belonged to my Mother (inherited her when my Mother died) back in 08. The cat was 21 years old and had been suffering from a Thyroid tumor for about a year. She had done well on the medication for most of the year and then took a turn for the worse. We think the cancer had spread to her chest and she wasn't breathing right. She was also by that time showing signs of being in pain. Even though at her age and frailty it was obviously the right thing to do for her, it was still hard.... If you can give your dog some more time??? Well, lean on the advise of your Vet!
Got most of the rolling stock back in the database the last few nights. I am now keeping a copy of the program and the data on my main computer upstairs. Not taking chances any more! Before I shut the computer down in the trainroom, I come back up here and log on to the Mini, and just drag the whole Application over to my 1 Tb backup HD on the G5 and in about 1 second the whole file is copied to the back up.
Next project will be scratch building an engine house for the Logging area. It will house the old shay in thy photo from a couple weeks ago.
The weather guessers are now saying Geneva got about 1" of Fluffy White Stuff over the last 24 hours... Whoppie! Forecasting a few flurries and sn*w showers for the next couple of days with no real accumulation. Guess filling up the blower with gas w*rked!
Time to go shut down the heat and train systems down stairs in the layout room. Later!

Truer. My town side isn't really a puzzle. It does have a good deal of moves though, so it can keep a person busy for a while. I've tried out all three jobs on the layout (furniture factory/yard, way freight, and fertilizer plant). I haven't tried the night train though.

John:
Tough decision, very tough. One question--is the cancer localized to where it can be operated on, or has it spread? I had a terrific cat about 15 years ago that developed a cancerous growth when he was about 12, and I had to go through the same decision. I consulted the Vet, he said that tests showed the cancer was localized. I had him operate. Everything went well for about two years, then the cancer recurred. Only this time it had metastized. I had to have him put to sleep. But--for those two years until it recurred, he was happy and healthy.
So it's a tough decision, believe me. If you trust your Vet--and I've trusted mine for more years than I can tell you--I'd go with his decision. In my case, it added two years to Tuxedo's life. But it boils down to not what YOU want, but what is best for your companion.
Believe me, as a fellow animal lover, you have my sincere prayers on this one.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Afternoon all from --yes--SUNNYCal!
At least here in the northern part of the state. The last storm dripped on us then moved south. I understand that Southern Cal had to do a little bracing for mudslides--hopefully not too bad--but all we got was a couple of spotty gully-washers and about another inch or two of the White Stuff up in the mountains.
Anyway, it's supposed to be clear, sunny and in the 'sixties around here until Friday, when another little one moves in for the morning. Then clear weather for about a week. At least according to our Omnipitent Weatherpersons.
And tomorrow is a Short Schedule at school, so I only have to go in for one chorus class. Well, I THOUGHT I did, until Leah today just shrugged and said, "Take the day off, I'll give them a quiz, tomorrow." I love working with that lady!! Friday is a student Holiday, and we teachers have to go in for Inservice. However, my Department Chair (the N-scale fellow I've told you about) decided that since the Inservice was largely departmental, that we would meet at BellaBru for breakfast, get our business out of the way and wrap everything up by noon. Another reason why EVERYONE should have a Model Railroader for a Big Boss!
I still have to do some more fine-tuning on the Little Lady's mechanism--but she's running about 85% better than she was when I got her. I know this sounds like a non-ending Soap Opera, but believe me, she's not the WORST running brass loco I've ever bought second-hand. She's just a little 'testy' from her previous owner. But I won't go into that. Let's just say that 'rescuing' her is somewhat the equivalent of finding a purebred animal with all the necessary Papers at the local Pound. In other words: "How the Heck did you end up HERE and in YOUR condition?!!"
So: Garry--hopefully this weekend will have her back together and painted and running on my layout. Only one problem--a friend sent me a photo of some Rio Grande steamers with green boilers. I bought the wrong COLOR green at the hobby shop. Well, back to the drawing board, LOL! It's lighter--almost GN "Glacier" green. So when I get her done and she looks a little like a Great Northern steamer, don't be surprised.
Leah and I took the choir through the first movement of "Carmina Burana" today from memory, and they did a really ASTOUNDING job of it. Except I kept hearing this low buzz. I glanced up from the piano and one of my basses was just grinning at me. He was singing his part an octave LOWER than written. Now this wouldn't be quite so funny, but he's this little guy, about 5'3" and has a terrific bass voice. When we stopped, I looked at him and said, "Taylor, you need to jump UP an octave." He grinned back and said, "I like it better down HERE, Doc." Something about teenage boys when the sun comes out for the first time in a couple of weeks--they go Looney Tunes. But after he proved he could DO it, he jumped back into his normal range.
And people ask me if I'm thinking of Retiring. Not as long as I've got kids like this to keep me Young, LOL!
Best to all, prayers to those in need.

grayfox1119He didn't sleep much Saturday night, and had just got back home at 9 am when the fire call came in on his pager. He is the Scope man, so he headed right to the fire.
I don't know what to say Jeff, I feel so darn badly for you. As I mentioned before, my dad had type 2 and I saw what he went through. You and a few others in the Diner are in my prayers every night Jeff. I do know this, you are truly an inspiration for all those who suffer pain and great discomfort, they can learn from you Jeff, you never quit.
Being a fireman, you will appreciate this Jeff. My #3 son, the youngest, who is a call fireman like yourself, had just come back from a Boy Scout weekend up here in a place in the deep woods called Treasure Valley. He is a Scout Leader. They all camped out in tents in bitter cold and snow this past weekend. He didn't sleep much Saturday night, and had just got back home at 9 am when the fire call came in on his pager. He is the Scope man, so he headed right to the fire. An old two family, 2 story Mill house. It seems that two partially disabled brothers had hooked up one of those space heaters that runs on 120V 20 amp circuit, the kind that looks like a radiator but is filled with silicone oil. The wiring was #14, the fuses were 20 amp, and they had cut the Ground lug off the plug of the heater because they didn't have 3 prong wiring. You can guess what happened. The fire started up in the ceiling on the 2nd floor. My son was in the bucket for 4 hours hosing down the fire and removing the entire roof. The old house is totaled due to the amount of damage and age of the house. He went to his BIL's house about 5 pm, and fell asleep watching the SBG at 8 pm.

JIM: Uh, negatory, on the doc/antibiotics at least at this point... it's probably some sort of "flu," but the sputum isn't telling me anything "bad." I'm carpet bombing it with OTC cold/flu meds. Works fine...until one of you clowns gets me laughing!!!! I pretty much have to have something put back together before I'll go see a doc. This...pestilance, this pernicious ailment...shall pass.
ROBBY P: No problem with asking the Wife to hook-up the scanner/scan the article, etc. The "snag" is the time interval between asking and her agreeing (mere fractions of a second) compared to the time interval between her agreeing...and actually completeing the task (hours, days, weeks, months...). Keep in mind, this is a girl who WILL be late to her own funeral. I don't know how she'll accomplish THAT...but if there's a way, she'll find it. The only hope for the eventual funeral attendees, is THAT she'll go first, and I'll be around to get her loaded-up, shipped, and deployed on-site/on-time.

Never did get THAT nap... Mr. Boss called with a photo shoot for Saturday night: first round/post-season basketball game in Wilton, roughly 30 miles from here. I Map Quested it...only 8 miles farther for him than for me, BUT he thinks it's "a lot closer" so fine... Rerun won't be happy though, Saturday is his birthday, and we have a standing agreement to go out for Birthday Burgers...one for each year. Since he's turning 7, and 6 was just a bit too much last year...we're working on a strategy, maybe 3 dollar-menu doubles (6 patties) and an el-cheapo single..something like THAT. Weather speculationists are already hollaring about "light snow" from Friday on through Sunday... anymore, their "light snow" turns into "100% snow/ice covered roads, travel NOT advised." So........we'll see what happens.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh shazbot. I'll yield the floor...

Looks yummy!
grayfox1119JEFF: Is that photo really you? It sure doesn't look like the photo of you standing by your car a few years ago? You look like you lost 80 pounds!
Good afternoon gents, we are in the middle of a rip roaring Nor'easter here in central Massachusetts, the winds are rocking the house the snow is blowing sideways, the wild creatures have all run for cover. I was expecting a big storm, but we are only going to get 8 inches, a nothing snow amount. The Barometer is very low and still falling, 29.17, at this rate it might make it below 29.00, a winter hurricane!!
I spent the day in the train room, all the elevated track foam inclines and risers are now in place. The next step is to slope the mountains, lay plaster cloth over pillowed newspaper, and over the track bed, then the cork sub bed.
JEFF: Is that photo really you? It sure doesn't look like the photo of you standing by your car a few years ago? You look like you lost 80 pounds!
CHUCK: Good to hear from you again! We thought you fell off into the Pacific!! Layout plans look good, when do you start.
MIKE (Inch) : How is your supply of pellets holding out? Needa carload on the CSX mainline yet?
On a political note, for years the politicians in Washington have given us a snow job, now it seems that Mother Nature is giving THEM a snow job!! LOL Their ALL TIME record for snow will be broken with today's storm, and winter isn't over yet.
Good Afternoon, Zoe - I'll take a bowl of creamy tomato soup, and a RBF. Thanks!
I'll sit at the window booth, a little bit away from the others for now. Started antibiotics, which have been helping some (at least, my chest doesn't hurt when I cough now). Don't think I'll get all the way up on the soapbox (heck, it's starting to get a bit worn, from the looks of the thing), but let's just say: 2 calls to doctors' office group (15 minutes on wait, another call was 20 minutes on wait), got disgusted, bundled up, went out and uncovered the car, drove to their office, talked with the group's receptionist (who used to w**k in our agency's doctors' office before going there), said "Birdie, does my doctor have any slots this morning you can get me in for?" She got me one that was in about an hour (plus the additional hour in the waiting room and then in the examing room). Glad I was able to get in and get something to help, but their phone system sucks. 'Nuff said.
Rob, how's your motive roster coming along? Sounds like you're improving and expanding some, but I think if you've been debating it for a week, that's premeditated. [heh, heh, heh...] I hear you on the price of sound-equipped locos... (Maybe down the road a ways) Oh, I'm guessing that Todd meant the Athearn Genesis locos, which I understand are good, and have good detail. The other Athearns can vary (as Todd described on the non-Spectrum Bachmanns).
Tom (Wright) - hope the motel has a good restaurant attached (or close by). Sounds like your area (and Robby's, and some others thataway) got socked on that go-around with the white stuff!
Garry - funny you should mention the Boyd's stores in St. Louis; growing up in that area, my grandmother had all the grandsons' sizes listed with them, and we could all count on getting at least one shirt and tie for Christmas, birthday, etc. (Until some of the grandsons started marrying, we didn't have any granddaughters in the family for my Grandma T.) So that's neat - if he were still alive, I'd ask you to thank your great-grandfather for me and my brother and all my cousins! Sorry to hear about your DIL's father passing.
Ulrich, were you and Petra (when you started dating) cautious about not talking of w**k issues? That's kinda funny, that you were w**king at competing industries.
Jeff, that's a nice (SW1500?) there. Hope you have got the pharmacy straightened out and your allergy meds going in your system by now.
Aztec - is your SIL's cat like that one next door to Snoopy in 'Peanuts'? The dog may have good reason to fear the cat! Hey, congrats on Preston's arrival!
Uh, Todd - I understand that you have been watching paint dry? By YOURSELF? Good grief, man, don't you realize that's against some federal rule, and you're supposed to have a minimum of one supervisor, two EPA observers (to measure the amounts of paint that might be evaporating into the atmosphere and further accelerating global warming), and a GS-9 grade overseer? Quick, man - get on the horn to your local supervisor, NOW! But, glad to hear you're making some progress (was that paint for the layout area, or were you painting something else (and therefore, less important)? I hate to tell you this (well...), but ALL printer cartridges cost way more than needed. I've had a friend or two who just go buy another $50-with-rebate printer, and say it's cheaper than buying all those cartridges later...
Lee - although it looks like it, the downloadable 'books' only use some of what's in the (physical) books. I found that out after buying some that I had related books for, to find that there was too much (for my liking) duplication in the digital version. The special issues (like that Realistic Scenery one that Sam mentioned) have some overlap with the books (and I think the DL's are usually compiled from past articles in MR, for the most part). Of course, I realized much of this after buying most of the books Kalmbach has put out (and some that they don't anymore)... How's your weather today? This morning's forecast was looking like Ohio might be getting some lake effect snow off the backside of that storm moving through Pennsylvania. Hey, on your roundhouse pics, were the posts & supports painted, or does the plastic come in that good of a color? Looks surprisingly close to wood.
Sam, sounds like you're progressing nicely at the NJT - way to go! Any layout plans to post yet (and Todd - how about your 14" X 8')?
DerJohn - check your emails. I think I have something that may be helpful for your sanding towers project. Nice photos of that Shay!
Chris, thanks for commiserating our similar pestilences (love THAT word! ). Hope you got to your doctor/health provider and got some of the good drugs (antibiotics! Don't want Vincent thinking we're like his 11th date...). They're talking another chance at the winter roulette come Sunday for us (unless we can divert it northward... Just kidding there!)
Sawyer, my eyes might be just as blurry as your phone's, but that looks pretty good to me, on your layout w**k. Did you use 'mud' type of stuff, or plastic for the 'pavement' around the enginehouse?
Calif.Tom - I got a good chuckle from your description of your Tenor/Forward. I do understand that rugby is NOT for those who are sensitive to the sight of blood... Keep hoping, surely soon you'll get your brass beauty painted. And bummer on the curses-foiled-railfan trip with your friend.
Chuck, your layout/RR plans sound like that will be a nifty one (Love those Shays)! I guess you need to send some of your nice weather south to Calif.Tom, so he can get his loco painted, eh?
I shoulda posted this morning when I first came in to the Diner - got a few phone calls and then called out to see a previous customer at one of our local jails. Sheesh! Well, now that it's lunchtime (sorta), I'll get my face fed.
Todd, on that red wall - do ya think a belt sander would help?
Ray, hope the sn*wyweather misses your area, AND that the threat (of the white stuff) got the trailer over to your son's place. Win-win!
Well, my lunch break is over, so I'll check back in later and get caught up (I hope!) on the other 6-8 pages of posts. (A guy is out sick for a day or two, and this is what I get? ).
Prayers for comfort and healing, especially Rob, Chris and others not at all feeling good, as well as those with more lingering health things. I will try to cough a little less loudly when I get back this evening.
Blessings,
BlazzinLooking at the pic.. I wouldn't want to mess with you in a bar fight.... lol. You look like one mean dude.
Chris.....That would be some big help. Don't worry about asking the wife, I ask my wife for computer things all of the time . I always get that.....well.....the look .
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Afternoon folks!
Flo, I'll have a RBF to celebrate!
You see, Spring is officially here in The Finger Lakes with the appearance of the first sure sign of spring. As I was leaving Tops Market here in Geneva this afternoon I saw it. The first one to arrive this year. The LOONY BIRD!!!! Now I always make it a practice to play "Spot the Loony" any time I am out and about... But today I saw one right in front of my eyes! Now the Temperature was 27°F with a 13 MPH breeze giving the area a wind chill of 16°F and snow flurries coming down somewhat sideways in the afore mentioned breeze. Now this was not one of those Middle School kids trying to be "All grown up and manly" nor was it one of tha brothas downtown who always dress in style.... This was a full grown man who appeared to be in his early 40s happily walking into Tops to buy Milk 'n' Bread probably because of the panic going on (we have college kids around here from warmer climes) due to the possibility of getting another half inch of snow or so tonight..... Anyway, he is the first spotted Loony Bird of Spring being casually dresses in Burmuda shorts! Now in his defense he did have a light windbreaker open over his shoulders........ So Spring is Officially here! YES!!!
Ah, now that I have arrived home, put away the groceries (yes I did buy milk and bread but only because I was out of both...) and gotten back on line, the sn*w has once again stopped.
Ah the Mailman Lady has just arrived so it is time to see if she brought me any Fee-mail today.
Later!
Robby P.Since you said something about a "dumpster" I thought about making one. So its in the basement right now, well the first steps of one.
Hey, I've got an article from the August, '82 RMC with plans for a small one and a large roll-off unit. IF the Wife survives the trip home this evening, maybe I can ask/beg her to hook up her in-storage scanner to my 'pooter; and ultimately I could scan it for ya. Lottsa "if's," but THATs life with the Wife... heh heh heh.
Better yet, maybe I can get her to scan it/.pdf-ize it...probably quicker than if I was to fight my way through it.
I really need to go take THAT nap... maybe another dose of RAY's theorum of cold/flu treatment... sans coffee... hee hee.
Chris.......Since you said something about a "dumpster" I thought about making one. So its in the basement right now, well the first steps of one. I didn't think about other pieces of wood, sawdust etc.....As far as the weathering of wood. I do it a cheap way. Rust powders!!! I have a few dark colors and I just use a paint brush and spread the powder on. Then I would take a "makeup sponge" and rub it down on the wood. That kinda smooths it out (powders), and picks up the loose.
JR, I replaced one 3yo battery and kept the 1yo battery and replaced the alternator in January. The shop checked everything with a meter and its ok, and then they checked it two weeks after the install to make sure the older battery wasn’t draining the new battery. I just ordered a new starter and new fender mounted solenoid with harness, both parts are from an off road specialty shop and designed for muddy/wet environments. $255.99 for the parts, shipping, and tax; should arrive at the shop Tuesday or Wednesday. The shop I go to quoted me $80 to install everything, I don’t think that’s too bad since the solenoid has all the wires for the starter already permanently hardwired and booted. The dealership wanted $350 just for the starter and said that I was wasting my time to replace the solenoid. The dealership wanted $95 to trouble shoot the truck then an additional $85/hr to make repairs.Rob, follow that link I gave you this morning, they have it all. They even have shoppers with carts and baskets.

*cough cough sniffle snort gasp wheeeeeeeeeze cough cough*
Good....*hack!* afternoon... Chloe? A bucket of Ed's OJ, a plate of oranges, a bucket of chicken soup...and a gun if all THAT doesn't knock-out this brackin'-frackin' pestilance!!!!!
Geez, thanks to a number of you guys, I've had to pick my lung up off the Diner floor, wash it off in the kitchen sink (Chloe was less than impressed), and stick it back into my chest. Why oh why do you guys have to be so blasted funny when laughing is Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health????
ULRICH: Welp, congrats on your official release from Das Gulag. Yeah, I'd hang the diploma in THAT room too... never know when you may run out of the "standard issue" paper, and need a substitute pronto! As a roomate in college once said: "I hate getting caught short in critical situations." This AFTER he did get "caught short." We were all under strict orders to go out the next day and obtain no less than 4 rolls per man (5 of us at the time).
Ah the things we hang in... "the room." In my bachelor days, I had a picture I took of a presidential candidate, who won, framed and hung so THAT whilst sitting upon the thunder mug, I could look upon said President. Worked like a charm, better than Ex-Lax. No...I won't say which president it was.
Going with N-sane scale makes sense for the space you've got, ULRICH, and the operations you desire. It makes sense for me for what-all I wanna do. But, I figure you've either got: a) better eyesight, b) more patience, c) better tiny-stuff dexterity, or d) all of the above; than I do. N-sane scale for me would be...a disaster of epic proportions.
Speaking of structures. ROBBY P: I keep forgetting to comment on your pallet shop... very nice, Sir! With the pallets themselves, I can see your finesse for weathering coming in handy. I'm seeing new pallets, "repaired pallets," and pallets waiting for repair/reclaim. Maybe a container dumpster with scrap wood, piles of sawdust, stacks of new lumber... could be a detailing field-day. How are ya at weathered wood effects??? I've got a small pack of pallets in my next Walther's order...need some stacked up outside the ex-RI roundhouse. They'll get "run through the mill" when I finally place said order in a few months.
JEFF: I thought THAT was a shot of Red Green in your avatar-thing at first. And, I'm a little surprised at you, especially being a FD safety officer and all... Don't you remember? NFPA standards for controlled burns state you can't use gasoline...too volitile. However, some good old No. 2 diesel is just fine. Should work wonders under the butts of certain sluggish pharmacists, receptionists, medicos, etc.!
TODD: So you've got the Villiage snow plow closing up driveways 'eh? I think they train 'em to do THAT. Around here, the City of Clarence goofball is driving around in the plow truck...nothing left to plow though, he's just running the plow to look like he's doing something. Oh, wait, he's got the truck with the sand spreader on it. Ooooooh, wow. He just put down a handful of sand at the intersection of 8th Ave. and Ball St. Yep... a handful. Wow.
Nothing planned for today other than I was going to try to get at least 2 of 3 articles written for THAT... may just crawl into the isolation zone and pass out for a few hours. I've got a sad Rerun, he really really really wants Daddy to play with him. He grabs one of his hedgehogs, and I then have to chase him around the house, Reruns live for moments like THAT. But...I feel like crap.
I think a nap is in order...maybe write those articles for THAT later...
Have a good, SAFE rest of the day,
Rice & beans, please.
Another thing my wife wants to find for her HO layout (along with a go cart, a tot on a tricycle, and a tot riding a tiny bicycle) is a few grocery carts. Anyone know of any of these being available?
Had my first full blow immunopathology/herxing last night. Yikes, that was kinda spooky, but is the start of my immune system being brought back online, so to speak. Interesting!
Well, waiting on the hay delivery. Hope to make it baback into the train room tonight.
Have a great day y'all. Rob
