Mornin, Just coffee please. Temps today should be a lot cooler, high of 83 F and partly sunny. Looks to be that way for a bit. But the State Fair starts Friday so that means generally one of two things and I'm sure Jerry and Inch can tell ya it'll either be rainy, hot, HOT or both next week. Specially the day I choose to go to the fair. Veterans Day, first Sunday and you guessed it, suppose to be hot.

Had an OK night at the restaurant last night. Today I must put the groceries away at the rest then I may find myself out by Castle Trains and therefore Popeye'sYeah!!. In the meantime, since the truck doesn't get to the restaurant until about 10 to 10:30 I will work on the laundry and as Ray said, since the train room is in that area, need I say more.

Barry- Since the BBQ is gonna be rained out anyway, why not just send all that scrumptious food down here to the diner. (err, where ever "here" is????? Oh my, I don't know where I am!!) I'd hate to see it go to waste. And I had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with any Pie Catapult!..........this time.Whistling

JR- (chuckling) "Pool of sweat", (he he) good one.

Jeff- Glad to hear your Mom's ok. Who called you, her? Baked potato and ribs, man that sure sounds like a great menu to scare away the hungers. And speaking of ribs, Skip's is looking good there.

Did I ever tell you guys how I feel about the fair.......

Have a Great Day!!!!

EDIT: Well, it looks like I got the tab, order up!

Jeff,

I built that DPM building as a barber shop, If your interested I can email you the interior shots and the barber pole material.  The interior is already sized and the barber pole stripes you print cut and tape to a shish kabob skewer and top with a very small pom pom.

Good late morning.  Seems like sleeping for 5hours before work makes me not sleep when I get home.  BUT I do end up taking a nap later in the day thou.

Since I haven't done this kind of work in awhile, man my wrist is killing me.  I think I over worked the muscle.  Maybe I need to soak it today.   I was going to try to get some stuff done on the layout (tables, legs, etc).   That depends on my wrist.    What sucks even more, is I'm right handed....and its my right wrist thats hurt Angry.

Tom......I don't have to serve again for 3 years.  The first case was a DUI, which would have been just a few hours case.  The other case........well........He was going to go for a looooooong time.  That was going to be a four day trial.  Can't wait for my $9 bucks !!!!!!!

JR.....I want to stay in the weathering, and kinda use it towards the layout $$$$$.  I am going to try to order a few cars this week, and get them on next week.   I can say, at least I can make some money at something.  I look at it as "free" money.    Maybe I can keep some as well!!!

Hope everybody is doing good, I think I better go soak my wrist.

Good morning.........

Hmmm....Just as I thought....Duke went back to sleep....He did not take the hint, and he did not bring TH coffee and donuts. You'd think Barry would have seen the hint, too, but he's having his bagel.

JimCG might also be alseep. ..........shhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

PC.... Kinda groggy, this morning aren't you?.... Not much convesation from you.

Robby........Is that condition called Fed Ex wrist?

Ed ....I'll look forward to October and OJ. That is apple cider month, too, but that is OK. I'll manage.

Der ...John.... I like those gates, and again I am impressed with it being N scale. How large of microsope do you use?...... I like the Flying Scotsman picture. ....

Todd ... I think the greeting card companies invent holidays for a reason.

Lee .... I'm looking forward to seeing pix of Fox Creek.  Sounds like you have some good ideas.

JR .... I am also looking forward to seeing your reconstructed layout. It was good to read you are working on it.

Jeff ... That is a very colorful building. Sounds like you family needs to keep an eye on Mom. Glad you could help her.

Rob .... You are being very creative with the Sylent Green industry. You helped me figure out exactly what the new green jobs are all about. It should be good to know I will have nurishment as I await my turn for end of life counceling.

We could get really creative, and put together soylent green recipes. I know Ryan is the expert, and he may have thoughts for gormet soylent green. For now, basic stuff will have to do.

For breakfast, I'll have a toasted soylent green waffer. At lunch, I'll have Italian. How about a soylent green calzone? Terrific, right?.... Dinner hmmm... Maybe, soylent green souflet if Ryan can prepare the recipe....Otherwise I'll have garlic mashed soylent green.....Oh, oh!..... Look out!..... Barry and Todd are loading soylent green waffers in their catapults!....Where is the duck under?

Have fun everybody!

Mornin' everyone!

Must be the weather.  I slept until almost 10AM again this morning.......  Flo I'll have an "everything" bagel and a cup of dark roast in a R&GV Museum Mug.  I'll be at the Rivet Counter talking about the number of posts Jeffrey has.....

Jeffrey, I would have the opposite problem from what your Mom had.  I would tend to forget that I ate and eat again...... and again.......  Glad she is OK.

Speaking of posts, I see that NYSEG has marked the line pole across the road to be repaired....  It has been leaning at a a 75° angle for a couple of years now.  That pole has the job of keeping the pole on the corner of my property straight up and down.  (My property is on a T of 2 streets.)  When the pole was installed they put the guy wire support in the wrong place so over the years it has pulled the pole over at an angle..........

Mornin' Philip!  You are sure a blabber mouth this mornng.  Everything OK?

Robby I had a random thought the other day that I am due to be called up for jury duty.... Once I got the notice was for a time that I was to be at Boy Scout Camp with the Troop.  They let me off as there was no one to replace me.  Before that they always had me called for duty during Finals week at school.  Last couple of times I got the notice (since I retired), no trials came up.  With my hearing, I doubt I would be selected to serve.

Well......  I'll finish the bagel and get a move on.  Have to finish the laundry this moring (aka: play with the trains).

Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have a glass of Ed's OJ, the #2 special (scrambled) with wheat toast and blackberry jam, hash browns, glass of milk and a Rio Grande mug of the TH, please 'n' thankyouma'am. Dinner

Ed - good to see you in the Diner, and that sure does look like a fine railfanning site for Paco (of course, he may or may not agree, but...)! Hope he does well with the IE major. As you said, being up in the mountains could mean less time with the A/C on. So will your N scale layout fit in the vehicle to take up there with you? WinkThumbs Up

Lee, that was kinda funny about the neighbor's work guy (though I'm sure not so for himOops). Guess he got a little 'attitude adjustment'. You might suggest to your neighbor to let you know if a workman's gonna be there when he's gone, just to avoid future...uh.. incidents.Whistling And did you paint all those German figures already, or did they come painted?

Jeff, I like the three colors on the Seymour Block building - adds some 'snap' to its appearance. Will it be a building that's 'closed', or are the windows not going to be covered? I figure that you might go either way, since you had a 'ready for demo' building you built not long ago, right? By the way, those backgrounds look really good (well, the one you posted, and I'm guessing the others look just as good). Are the backdrops pre-perffed/pre-cut for separating the 'sky' part from the background part you'll use? Remember to post pics once you get some of those up on the layout (which I'm guessing you're still on the way to doing). That was a bit scary about your mother - (if it would help) hope you gave her stern warnings about setting a timer or something to remember to eat during the day.

Ray, sorry to hear about your picnic getting rained on/out. But you did get another NMRA member (and sounds like an enthusiastic one) out of the deal, so net gain, yes? On the 'skating', I recall our dachshund (when I was little would race at full speed into the kitchen (changed to tile floor there), and would sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide across the floor (until the door at the side of the kitchen stopped him, that is...).

Ulrich, keep plugging away Thumbs Up and we'll keep the AngelAngel going for you and your wife. I expect that something is coming, but it just hasn't got there yet, and that 'in the meantime' is the hard part of the waiting. Just keep with the doctor's recommendations (on eating or not eating and any other stuff).

Corey - looking forward to seeing photos of your mill as you get it further along. Yeah, as you said: "Cut, file sand, repeat..." But I suspect that patience and persistence help a bunch on the end result being one you'll be happy with. (At least, when I haven't had the patience and/or the persistence, I've NOT been happy with my end results).

Ryan, knowing your appetite and tastes, I'm sure that omelette was delicious and plenty of it!Smile,Wink, & Grin

Rob - hey, if the CPAP will help you sleep, go for it! I know you've had many a night of less-than-perfect (heck, less-than-adequate!) sleep. Good to hear your wife's recovering well from the dental stuff.

Todd, maybe you should just get a computer program that'll let you print your own cards. I've done that at times (though I'm too picky about the artwork and what words to use - don't like a lot of those in the program I have on my 'puter so far). Then you wouldn't have to make a trip to the store, and could even get by with printing one-quarter-size on a regular sheet and just keep a box of the right size envelopes handy. But hurry and get that going Shock - remember, Saturday is August 15th! Laugh

twhite
So, how many trains per day are we talking about?  I'd be in hog heaven! Tongue

Yeah!! Calif.Tom - but you forget, they don't still run articulateds down there in Mexico!OopsWink Sounds like your Choral Camp was fun for pretty much everybody. Thumbs Up

Nik.n- for clickable links, type what you want for the link, and then click on the 'chain' icon in the Message menubar. In the box that pops up, you can paste in the URL (address) for whatever image or outside page that you want to connect to, and also can select if clicking on the link opens in the Forum's window or a new window (I usually pick the 'new window' option), and click Insert. That should do it - try it out! And don't fret about your post count - as Duke said, if you doze off often, like he does, your count won't be as high (as those who can get into the Diner through the day or at most anytime). Wink

And Ray, I'd bet Jeff has hit 'send' more than 12,000 times, since I'm sure he has had some of those "It disappeared into the great bit bucket" posts that get lost before the forum software receives it...Oops

DerJohn - you must have great eyes (or glasses, or both)! That is something else, and all the moreso in iNvisible scale... (Must have the patience of a saint or sumptin'...)BowThumbs Up  Do you have a Road Runner on your layout, too?Smile,Wink, & Grin

JR, I'll agree with Todd's comment on your "pool"...Whistling That sounded neat that you were able to salvage and refinish/use the bannister and all. I've always liked houses with wooden railings/bannisters/staircases.Smile

Garry, I wasn't sleeping - just wasn't in the Diner much yesterday except for peeking in the window. Had MRR club last night (we spent a lot of time telling tales, etc.). I had got there early and got some 'pipes' put on the Rix grain elevator (the one that goes with their bins), and was able to get one of the other guys to look at how to connect in the grain dryer. He decided we might not need to do that (the bins are next to an ADM-type big elevator with silos, and we'll be running a pipe from the bins' elevator to the (headhouse?) on the top of the ADM's end nearest it. I thought I was going to get one of the Kadee magnets that you bury under the tracks, but our LHS owner/member brought me instead the kind that sits between the rails (wrong!). So he'll order one for me, after all.

PC, do we need to get that coffee IV going for you? Hey, Zoe, could you help this poor man get woke up? He'll thank you once he's fully conscious, I'm sure.

Hey, that shade of green's not my favorite color, anyway...

I'll be at the window booth for now, dodging whatever the catapult du jour is for the day...

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

My mother's doing just fine now. I told her to quit day dreaming so much and watch the clock more closely. Most of the windows in the Seymour Block building will have blinds while others will show some printed interiors. The building is painted in six colors including the black and gray for the roof and vents. The background rolls from Detail Associates are the type that you cut the pieces out that you need. They have to be cut as they aren't perforated or pre-cut. I'll be getting started on the new backdrop as soon as I take the old one down.

WhistlingHowdy folks!

Just got back from the dentist a little while ago and the right side of my mouth and face are stil numb. The wife says my whole head is numb most of the time, but will leave that up to discussion...

I'll have the Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad for lunch today with a large RBF too Chloe! Dinner

Been catching up on some of those old MR issues that Allen from Monique's work gave me. I read a really good article by the late Art Curren from the June 1986 issue where he demonstrates making String Trees. Not Spring Trees or String Cheese, but String Trees. Very interesting method of putting together a tree indeed. He uses anything from carpet thread and cotton string to jute or clothesline.

Another interesting article is the series on The CMRI: A computer/model railroad interface Part 14: Serial interface hardware, by Bruce Chubb. He even provides a schematic diagram for making your own circuit board, this is a very detailed series of articles with electronics and wiring, have not seen this detail in MR for many years.

Hey Todd, thanks for the Aug 7th info. Now I will tell you that I celebrate every day that I wake up alive and thank the good lord that I still have breath in my lungs and feet to walk on. I just thought I was missing something! Cool

Robby, lucky you missed out on that jury duty!

Duke, getting a little steam action going there! Apex and counting.....for some live steam again...Whistling

Garry, glad your steaks came out tasty! Chef Thanks for actually using the stuff! Big Smile And on the Soylent Green recipes....hummmm......sounds like a bad case of rude food! Laugh The only thing I can think of is Soylent Green and Ham.....Dead

Der John, love the gates! Thumbs Up And thanks for the size info.

Congrats to Jeffery on 12,000 posts, that's a lot of writing!  Wow!!

And all you with the rain, please send some our way, been over a week since any fell here, might have to water the plants soon if none drops today.

Thoughts and prayers.

Lunch time already.......

Zoe I'll have that Chicken Salad that Ryan brought in and a cold Dr. Pepper.

Ryan, where is the recipe for that?  Sounds good!

So far all I have accomplished is to send a few emails trying to get some info for a presentation I am doing for a "handicapped" camp in a week and a half.  Nice to have some idea of what they expect and need, as well as details on time, number of sessions, ability level of campers, etc.

Decided to get a photo of the line pole across the street fro me before they go and fix it........Whistling   frankly I think it has a very unique look and can be used to show how "prototype" some of the ones on my layout are. Shock

Robby, that’s a fine looking Great Lakes locomotive you have there!  Jim, I asked the neighbors if they had any workers coming to their house during their vacation, when they composed themselves and stopped laughing they said now, but their mother would stop by the hose from time to time and would appreciate it if I didn’t have her arrested. The Germans came painted; it seems these are like a grand sampler pack of all their other figures.  I have kids, rail fans, couples, tourists, people carrying babies, ect.

Jeff, I’ll send those out tonight along with a front picture of the building.  The interior picture is set to go across the entire front including the front doors.  I’ll send you my random curtains as well.

Afternoon, nothing for me please I'm full from Popeye's. Boy was I hungry, then I got to thinking...., what's that dear? Oh real funny, so funny I forgot to laughGrumpy. Anyway I got to thinking the last time I ate was Sunday at about 3 pm. Thought about Jeff's Mom on that one.

Stopped by Castle trains and picked up a Walthers Van *** Farm Windmill for the tourist trap town, a tube of green Squadron putty/filler/whatever. Tom behind the counter recommended that over Testors which I had in my hands for ease of use reasons. Can't get that over the internetThumbs Up. And are you ready for this? Best be sitting down. The guy who just wanted to build a neat little trainset with some buildings bought .......ready? An........NMRA gageShock. Who'd uh thunked it.

Robby- A few, hm, several years ago I had Federal Grand Jury duty. 1,2,or 3 days a month depending on the case load, for 18 months. Sounds bad but wasn't at all. I wouldn't shy away from that one. You get to hear some interesting things if you can get passed the drug cases and smuggling in our neighbors to the south cases. We are kinda on the super highway for illegals in this area. I've never heard you use the phrase "I won't weather it". Kinda weirdConfused.

Jim- Thanks for reminding me about the 15th. I'll have to get a card whipped upLaugh. Wait, then I'll be complaining about the ink usage!!Clown

Jeff- Castle Trains had a selection of Detail Assoc, or was it Rail Images? It's the ones with the cowboy on horseback and the several buildings to cut out. I've never noticed them there before. I might do some more looking but they don't really fit what I'm looking for except for the one with the cattle and rider. I might get that one yet. They also have several other brands. You really gotta look or ask in that placeWow!!.

Well I guess I'll head to the playroom, don't assign me a permanent place at the rivet counter just yet, I‘m content with just visiting. My "stable" isn't near worthy of the honor.

EDIT: Oh for pete's sake! What's this world coming to!! You get *** for the word ***? That didn't work. OK lets use code. Super secret Lancelot Link code. I use a letter, you substitute it for the next letter down ready? E-Z-L-F. There.Approve

Jeff- yes your right, (of course your right you've got them in you hands) I forgot about the oil fields. I am planning at this time a small area for a refinery and the oil fields refinery one would work. I'm just not sure that I will have the room for enough to make it worthwhile.

You make do with the room you have. My layout is roughly 8x10 and is in a 8x13 room with the backdrop going around 3 walls. One wall is 10', the second is 8' and the third is 6.5'. When a lot has to go into a small area just compress, compress, compress. A two dimensional image on the wall can look rough and tacky when viewed in person but when it's seen in a photo the objects appear to be real enough that you want to reach out and touch them. It's all about perspective. Think about a small layout in a room of mirrors. The layout would appear to be enormous!

Compress. Interesting you should say that just now. I just came up from trying to rough arrange the town of Gold creek and it's not working not enough room. Compress, of course, I keep forgetting. Compressing is the one thing, well really one of many things, I keep forgetting about. I keep trying to make reality that says a semi should be able to go around that corner easily so that won't workBanged Head. Or more parking is needed than a couple three cars. Modeling says not necessarily so. The idea should be there and the mind or eye fills in the reality. To a certain degree of course. Thanks for the way of thinking nudge!

Good evening to all, still 79F at 7:30pm here.

The pool water is at 82F, yes, believe it or not, at 72.5 North latitude, pool water ( in ground) can get above 80F and often does without even having 90F temps.

It was hotter than a desert rat's armpit today, so I worked in the garage which was cooler by 10F.

My 3 year old grandson was down this afternoon, and he left the pool to see what I was up to, he loves working with anything that is BIG GUY tools, the heck with his toys. So I gave him a piece of sandpaper so he could help me sand some 3/4" plywood. He was right in his element. Then when I brought out the green paint, he wanted to help with that too. I was reluctant because he was in his bathing suit and this was oil based paint. That does not go well with 3 year olds, but he asked me for a brush, so I gave him one, with instructions on not getting paint on himself. Well this little guy did a heck of a job let me tell you. He painted the top for about 20 minutes before it was time for mom to take him home, and he only got a little bit on his hands when he forgot and touched the can. So good old WD40 to the rescue again, one little squirt and the paint was off his hands.

MRR: Got more of the bridge and decking painted last night, I should finish it tonight, then weathering begins tomorrow. This truss bridge is a big hold up in laying track because I need to get the mountain elevation correct at track level approaching the bridge.

ED: Got to the web site OK, too bad there isn't a RR line closer to your home, it would make travel to the mountain much faster, or at least more restful.

DUKE: BERKS rule the rest DROOL!!!

ROB: Going "Green" I see, way to go!!! You must have received your "stimulus" check for your industry right ?? LOL  DUKE is still waiting for his so that he can buy another Berkshire.

GMTRacing
Dick - the only pool I have is the pool of sweat. Spent time yesterday unloading/loading the storage container hereat the shop and was literally drenched.

J.R. I know you must have been soaked with sweat, I saw the temps in southern CT yesterday and the dew points were 74F!!! That was no fun J.R., I hope you had plenty of "root beer ". You guys have been getting hammered down in your neck of the woods this Summer, storm after storm and even two F1 Tornadoes nearby.

Time to go paint the bridge, see you guys for RBF's later,

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Spent the whole day with some of my friends at a local lake/water park place.

Interesting that there is talk about compression now---I'm trying to compress a trestle that was about 2000' long in southern Saskatchewan into a scene on Eric's layout that is about 6.5' wide----still is a lot of bents to do Banged Head Anyone want to partake of a trestle bee?Whistling

We had a good neighbourhood BBQ this time---the last time( in June) was a washout. We got a bunch of good schtuff cooked up and put out---and it was all gone by the time 4 pm came by---

Chloe, I'll just have a RBF please---I'll be at the corner booth---here---have to move Duke over---

I guess I better get ready for bed.  Gotta work in a few hours.  The bad thing is.......My wife looked up my wrist pain on Web MD, and I have the symptoms of "stretched forearm muscles".   It hurts pretty bad.  I will talk to the manager and see what he says.  I hope he understands, and I just don't want it to get worse.

I guess I will see everybody tomorrow.

Evening all,

Went out to the orange grove today to do some routine maintenance before we head out to our new half-time home for a couple of weeks.  The oranges are still small, hard, and green.  They have a few months yet before we can start picking the first variety.  The tangerines (Mandarinas) are usually ready by the 1st of November.  But we did cut a big crate of avocados, and a few buckets of Key miles.  So we didn't come home empty handed.

I suspect it will take me a while to get up to speed on who all the new faces are in here.  Lots of changes in players since I was here last.

Ray: Nice place to be right by the tracks like that.  I bet you planned that, right?

Not exactly.  But I wasn't unhappy that jr wound up going to school in Cd Mendoza, because I knew it was on the mainline.  But I admit that I was holding my breath that the wife wouldn't find another place she liked better once we had seen the house by the tracks.

Der John: I thought those were concrete ties when you posted that photo...I wondered if Mexico was runing out of trees!

Actually, the three major railways down here (FXE, FSRR, KCSM)  are all working to gradually replace wood ties with concrete, at least on their main lines.

JR: The way freights NOB run now (mostly after dark in the northeast) junior might have trouble sleeping that close to the tracks. I was amazed at thow many moves CSX made through south Pittsburgh after dark horns blaring and all.

He's young, he'll adjust.  I go right back to sleep.  So far the wife has too.  We'll see how long it takes to really adjust.

CG Jim: That sure does look like a fine railfanning site for Paco (of course, he may or may not agree, but...)! Hope he does well with the IE major. As you said, being up in the mountains could mean less time with the A/C on. So will your N scale layout fit in the vehicle to take up there with you?

Paco isn't much into trains, but it's a great site for me.  We'll see how he does.  Yup, no a/c needed up there.  It's a much more enjoyable environment and I expect to be more active.  Nope, the door layout can't fit into the back of the Blazer.  I'll see if being so close to trains kick-starts my modelling interest.  Maybe I'll just take stuff up there to work on while we're there?

Dick; Too bad there isn't a RR line closer to your home, it would make travel to the mountain much faster, or at least more restful.

Yeah.  But as you know, there's virtually no passenger train travel down here anyway.  But it's nice to dream about.

Thought I'd just include a few photos of sites that will be very close to my new abode.  These are ones I've shot over the past couple of years when railfanning in that area.

Metlac Bridge - maybe 20 minutes from the house.

The engine facility in Orizaba, maybe 5 miles from the house.

Stuffed and mounted, maybe 8 miles from the house. They used to run on the section of mainline that runs in front of my house!

Where we camped out a couple of years ago, maybe 30 minutes+ from the house.

Our house is at the far end of this straightaway.

Took this looking the other way in that curve in the previous picture. So this is maybe 5 minutes from the house?

[Edit: hope the pictures show up now.]

Ought to be pretty good.

Well, we head out tomorrow morning.  Since we don't yet have either phone or internet at the new place, I'll be scarce around here for a couple of weeks.  Hold the fort.

Regards

Ed

Good Evening, Chloe - I'll just have a Santa Fe mug of decaf and a hot fudge brownie, please. Dinner Yum - Thanks!

Robby, I agree with Lee - that's one sweet looking loco - looks like it definitely should be on your layout! Thumbs Up Yeah!! And take care of your hand; you don't want to have to take off, now that you're having so much fun. Wink

Hey, Lee - what was the model # for that Preiser set, by the way? Maybe I should be considering one of those (even if I have to save up for it...). Sent you an email, also.

Jeff, that Seymour Block building will be even better with the interior, and a barber's pole on the Skip's Ribs building sounds great too. Thumbs Up

Todd, after you figure out what all those doo-dads, bumps and grooves on that NMRA gauge are used for, will you write and tell me? Thanks! Careful, maybe you've been sitting at the RC too many times in here, and it's rubbing off on ya... Oh, and I luckily brought my secret decoder ring with me today to the Diner, and broke the code on the windmill. Whistling Though I do recall seeing that windmill in the Walthers flyer before, so I recalled the name. Now me, I'm a glutton for punishment, so I went with the Woodland Scenics windmill with the cast metal parts... I may be doing some of that - waiting to hear from Inch how he does with his before deciding if I'll need to wear my hardhat when building that kit...Banged Head

Dick, that grandson of yours just may be a future MRR'er - get him trained on how to do the benchwork and he can be starting on his own by the end of the year! Smile,Wink, & Grin Does his Dad have that much skill, or did he get that gene from you? And are you planning to boil some lobsters in your pool, if it's that warm without 90 F weather? After all, Indian summer's coming, too.[tee hee...]

Barry, maybe we could put some boards between a couple or three tables in the back part of the Diner and wake up Duke to help you with that trestle bee? Yeah!! All I can say is, you're gonna be really good at making trestle bents by the time you get done, or else you'll feel like having one heckuva bonfire out back! Shock Good to hear your BBQ went well - and I understand somebody wants the leftovers sent by the Diner (Now who would that be, king of Toddland?)

Ed, thanks for posting those pics - looks like a fairly decent-length double track section of the mainline near your house, and I like the photo of the engine facility. Think I maybe recognize one of the guys in that crew. Wink It's a shame the Blazer doesn't have more room inside it, though. Whistling

I got my RMC issue from the mailbox today - Todd, you should get a look at "Tough Choices" (starting on page 86). The article also would be useful for Robby or anyone else fine-tuning your layout plans (guess that would also include me). The author even has a decision tree to figure out what kind of model railroad layout person you are, using a series of questions.(Hope they don't delete my post for mentioning Brand Y...) I think I'm either a (plain ol') Freelance, or a Disciplined Freelance, based on that.

Prayers for wet weather for Ryan's area, and drying out for the all-too-wet areas north of him, and for healing and comfort and a good night's (or morning's) rest.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Milk, a two-inch thick slab-'o-ham on Texas toast bread with lettuce, bacon, and pepper, Chloe, with a Banna Split to top it off. Thanks.

Weather: Temps around the 80's, and the low humidity level was 70, high 90+.

(And REALLY MUGGY) (For me, at least.)

My BLI grab bag is/should arriving/arrive tomorrow, after a "Persuasive" e-mail My dad sent a week ago. TWO weeks ago they said it was shipped.they didn't ship it until AFTER my dads email was sent. Is this how BLI treats first time customers?
