Good Morning!

Hickory smoked bacon is ready, hashed browns are seasoned just right, country and honey ham is all fried up nice. Biscuits just came out the oven with a slap of warm butter on top. Eggs are cooked to order…. Looks like the coffee is ready….

Morning  Gang: Just a short note. My puter at home is off line. Everyones internet is going to drop the dial up customers and give us to Peoples PC. This wasn't supposed to happen until mid Nov but I cna't get on line as of two days ago. I tried to call tec support but they had a message that said there would be more than a half hour wait. Well not on my dime. Anyway I'll be checking in here from work for awhile. Since I'm off thurs and fri I won't be back untill sat.

To all the new faces. It's always good to have new folks to talk to.

I've got to go and fix myself some breakfast, so you all take care.

Mornin all, just some coffee Zoe,
Suppose to be a nice day here, some sun, high in the low 50's, rain coming in tonight for 3 or 4 days.    
 Turns out that last month was the coldest Sep. on record and Oct. is working on the same record, along with the wettest. We've been running 10 degrees below average all month. So what happened
to globle warming.
JBird n me work outside most of yesterday cleaning up leaves, didn't make a dent. Maybe I'll caught by spring.

Steve,  didn't know you n yours were considering a move. Hope it works out well for you if you do. Didn't ya just finish an addition on the house.

Jeff ,,, I've got a Conrail like that only it Tyco I think. Has a broken coupler, I haven't got fixed yet.

BNSFlarson,,,,wlecome to the CS, hope you enjoy your visit here. I've seen layouts like your talkibng bout, same of them were real nice. With the plexy glass around it should be safe from most harm.

Good morning and thank you all for your sympathy and prayers please pray for my sister in law, Mary, she's handling this very badly, I think partly because she's battling her own cancer (*** cancer) and I think she's afraid for herself as well as grieving her mother. My husband is coping well with the death. He has an appointment Nov. 15 to find out about his test results. I don't think it could be to serious or they would have insisted on him coming in earlier ( I hope anyway). I should be back talking trains as soon as things calm down but until then I'll still be checking in.

The emigration plans are coming along fine, with luck and a following wind we'll be in New Zealand this time next year. I have got three job offers so far and two district health boards are fighting over my wife as she's a skilled ER nurse

Steve, Australia is a better country Just kidding!  I will be visiting New Zealand in March 2008, Maybe a meet and greet? Do you like cricket? Me and my friend will be going to a couple of games there in 2008... Would be awesome to meet a trains.com guy!

Maybe you could visit Australia and visit me

anyways.. how is all?!

I've got two guys interested in all my MR gear, so there could be a bidding war!

Model Train show this sunday... one hour train trip to get there but it will be worth it, pics will be posted when I get back...

We also got a  Labrador Puppy, Called Roy, but my little sister refuses to call him that...

yeah guys.. I was thinking of a  plexiglass edgeboard too.. the train wont go as that fast, it will be moving at slow speed..

I have seen some stores and a eating place that had a G or O trains over head they were moving at very slow speed...

I have not start yet but am looking for something to do.

I not sure what kind of lay out I want to build yet.

 

hey Grayfox... I been to Nova Scotia!! for our honeymoon last May 2000... it has been a raining off and on week there and went to EPI? is that right, we used the boat to cross there from NS.. and back.

Last call for coffee, the pot is nearly empty, Fergie, Luc and Der John used to make the coffee in the morning being from the Atlantic time zone, but I think some Aliens made off with these guys, as there have been some "strange" sightings off the coastal harbors of Nova Scotia.
I think either Indiana Jones,or Louisianna Jeff will make the 1st pot in the morning.

BNSFlarson: Welcome to the CS, have a brew on my tab!!! As for layout, that far off the floor I would just make sure to have a plexiglass edgeboard in case of a derailment......as Jeff said earlier, nothing but bits and pieces when it falls from 6 feet or more.

I still have my trains in box... it's a HO and we not sure if we going move (rent house) not alot place to set up, I was thinking 1 or 2 track on a 8" bord about like 10 feet long, one track lower and other inch high..?  setting it on wall, was thinking about set up on wall making it go around the room over head (right over the door and window..

what you guys think of this?

it should be easy to take down..?

I like the looks of BNSF but I grew up seeing mose BN's yeah sure missed the green engines.

HO train traveling on a track at doorway top height? If it should derail and fall, can you say microscopic bits?

Good evening to all, I see that we had Steak smothered with saute'd onions and peppers, I sense some Cajon seasoning so either Jeff or Ryan had there hands in the kitchen tonight.

I just received an email from FLIP, he said to wish everyone well in the CS, and welcome to new members. He has worked 110 hours in the last two weeks and has been out straight.

JEFF: Very nice locomotive....I'll be getting a GP38, model Atlas 9001, to use as the drive unit for the FP9 that I am trying to kitbash. It seems that EMD used the same power unit for their GP38 (early units) on the FP9's.

Yup.Tractor Supply Co.used to be in there.Not many stores in there now.Go east on rt 14 and north on rt 43.Many new developed areas.

Used to be an old dept. store back in the 70's.  The rest of town looks a lot bigger though!  Even Hudson looks a lot bigger!

Good afternoon all.....Its sunny and a little warmer here today not a bad day but rain coming in ....I'll  have a Windy City hot dog  drag in through the garden Onion rings and a red pop...Thanks PC....Not much Railroading the last couple of days got infection back in leg...Did find a Con Cor F 3 on Ebay says it doesn't run but I got high bid right now...Also got the new Model Railroader Dream plan and Build DVD havn't opened it yet anybody else got thier's yet? My son and his wife and kids are coming in tonite and we are having a spaghetti supper and watch the Cards tiger game...I am still protesting sunday's game only pitchers with clean hands!! Smoky Mtns. do get snow early due to the higher elevations.

That location is about a 5 hour drive west of here and is in the area near Boone, NC.

Here in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) area we get low temps but not a whole lot of snow.

Man, look at all the people from NE Ohio in here!  I used to live in Hudson, Oh back in the '70's.  I imagine it doesn't look much the same anymore though.

I've been a "eastsider" for almost 13 years.(moved from NY)Just ponder this.Streetsboro(aka Streetsatucky) has grown to a mini city.Go figure!

 

I wouldn't consider one road off the end of 480 a mini-city...... Streetstucky is a strange place... there's a stoplight about every car-length there...
