Bonanza as in Beechcraft? A tail design now come into its own in recent combat aircraft![:D]

UKMatt: Interesting little critters at that url you posted today.[:D] Good luck with the wheels, when ever you get around to the tuning.

***:
QUOTE: And, they don't know when this will actually start because they have nothing to tell them where the "breaking" point is. All they know is, from taking core samples, it HAS happened before to this planet!! Ohh my!!
There was an article on TV about this a month or so ago. One suggested fix was the dumping of salt into the North Atlantic at strategic points. A neat idea, but given our track record on these things, one has one’s doubts.
I see you’ve been caught on Luc’s CCTV, nice outfit.[(-D]

TrolleyRob: Got my “paper mountain” more or less kicked into shape today. I’m about ready for the first “trial balance” so to speak. But not tonight, I have a head ache. [:o)]

Had a strange phone call last night. The phone company have discovered that they have never charged a group of customers for their Internet Call Manager service after the first month’s free trial period. This has been going on for at least two years, and they have only just tumbled to it. I must say, I wasn’t aware that I wasn’t paying, the bill’s high enough as it is, and I guess I don’t look at the back![B)] Anyway, they are going to start charging next month. The conversation turned to High Speed Internet, and how they don’t live up to their advertising slogan “Here for You” as far as we rural customers are concerned. In the course of this he mentioned the Dial-Up Accelerator, a compression program of theirs. I have it, but frankly it doesn’t speed up things very much, and is only for opening web pages, not for downloading programs or useful stuff, and certainly not for uploading files etc. So, that twigged my mind. Why not, I asked, cancel the Accelerator and substitute the Call Manager. Net cost to me, $0.01 per month! So that’s what we’ve done. We’re no closer to getting High Speed, but who knows, miracles do happen!

Must get off to bed. Goodnight all, and our prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace. God Bless.[angel]

A quick good evening folks, also a bump we/ve just about slippe doff the presipace.[:O]

UkMatt That ocarse you mentioned makes me think that those folks graduating from it, need to learn a simple phrase. " Do you want fries with that" [swg]

Neat looking little power units and cars kits those, always good to keep info like that in ones back pocket [tup][:D]

Luc I'm not sure that they got ***'s best side in thta picture. I see that he dropped his hobo's stick and is trying to look rather nonchalant there LOL [swg]

Paul That approaching storm + sound idea sounds interesting.Sounds like an article for mr to me. [tup]

Der Bell did almoost the same thing to me. The free one month trial spread out to almost four. I supose that it all works out in the end. [sigh] If your refunds big enough maybe you can run your own highspeed cables to all your neighbours and yourself as well.[:D]

That's it for me tonight folks.

Hello hello hello everybody!![:D]

Well, I bet that y'all can guess where I've been tonight.[;)] Boy did I have fun.[:D] I can't wait to go to Prom with her.[^]

Paul: Yeah, my car'll hold it. It really isn't all that heavy. But they should produce quite an impressive sound. 115dBs of sound! That's as loud as a live jazz performance.[8D]

Trolley Rob: Unfortunately, I'll be mounting them underneath the hood. I run a lower risk of them getting stolen. And yeah, I'm not going to go down a dark passage like that. I'm a straight edge, and will continue to be so.[:)] That way, I don't screw up myself or anyone else for that matter. And, yeah, I can't wait to go to Prom. ^^

PC: Those chassis have got me thinking.[swg] They may come in handy in multiple ways.[:D]

Matt: Those little short things are cool! I favor the Class 113 as well. The other ones are good looking, but the 113 just seems to fit the size better. My airhorns will be under the hood, pointed down probably, in almost the very front of the nose. That's really the only space they'll fit. A lot of people put them right behind the grille. I'll have the additional button on my dash, because I like my standard horn.

Well y'all, I'm off. Catch ya later.

Thanks for the donuts. You've been most hospitable with them lately. Be careful though, we might get to expecting you to bring the donuts every day, and if you miss a day you might come back to an angry mob! You know what happens to people when they don't get their sugar fix, don't you?

Morning all!

I'll go with one of those donuts and some coffee this morning please Flo, thanks.

Scott,

I'm glad you like those chassis. I thought they were pretty cool. They got me thinking too when I saw what some others were doing with them. Check this out (click the pics to blow them up);

This is the critter modified base he built it on;

Or how about my favorite, a Climax in N scale;

This is the cut down chassis for the Climax;

Pretty impressive stuff, especially for N scale! And yes, the pistons work in time with the motor!

These pics came from a thread on the Atlas website, but because of the way their software is set up I can't find a way to give you a direct link to the thread. I did bump it to the front page of the N scale forum and you can always do a search for it. The title of the thread is, "Climax 30-ton B class - the next critter challenge". Enjoy, and happy planning!

Aggro,

You should really look at getting rid of that sorry looking layout and building a real one! Tell you what, me being your friend and all, I'll take that nasty old layout off your hands. See what a nice guy I am? And is that one of those "D" word things on the front of that train? Now I know you should have your layout taken away! [swg] Seriously, you do some VERY inspiring work! Thanks for sharing!

All,

I trust you are all well this morning. I have prayed for all of you, both as a group and individually. I'm glad to call you all friends, and I'm glad to have the privilage to pray for you.

Gotta go now.....later!

Good Morning All,
Regular to go please. Just a quick run through again. Two weeks til we are at Birmingham, three weeks before the VSCCA opener at Pocono, trying to buy a 53 footer for car transport and I need to get some work done on what I already have because it's nice out for a change. If i get enough done it's off to the train yard to work on the 1:1 RS-11. I really must be going cause I'm late I'm late I'm late. [:D] J.R.

Good morning all. Just doing a little cleaning at the moment, and taking a short break. I'm closing at work today, so I have a bit of time now.

MAN! This week has been a good one for me![:D] I've been almost bouncing off the walls with how good things have been going for me.[:o)] And yesterday was like icing on the cake. Not only did I go to the mall with my Prom date, but, I GOT MY LIFESTYLE 38!![8D]

What's a Lifestyle 38 you might ask?[;)]
http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=ls38_dvd_index&words=Lifestyle+38#

James Saunders I was looking at the K5LAs, but they are just too big and need to large of a compressor and tank for me to do anything with. I had to opt for something smaller. Plus, I couldn't afford them.[:p]

PC: THOSE ARE AWESOME! Those are some good looking locomotives right there. Especially the Climax. That's just more inspiration for the ole creative juices.[^] I'll have to check out the Atlas forum now. I think I may have an account there...I thought I did. I do know that there home page is tempting, with the new N scale RS-11s.[:)] That was an awesome article! Jeesh, some of the stuff people do is just mind blowing at times.[^]

Morning all, thought I would drop in to say hello. Can't do any reading of the past few page right now though. I had lasik surgery on my eyes yesterday to improve my distance vision. The doctor gave me strict orders not to do any concentrated reading, TV watching, or computer work for a few days. We don't blink as often during those kinds of activities and it is not good for the eyes right after surgery. My distance vision is much better though, and should improve more as healing progresses. Since I was near sighted though it will probably make me more dependent on reading glasses. [:(] But that's a small price to pay.

See you later.

Whew! Missed the top of the page! That can get expensive! You guy's are a thirsty bunch!

Speaking of expensive.....

Scott!,

3 GRAND FOR A STEREO!!!!! Holy Cow! Nice setup, but, Holy Cow! That's a lot of money for a stereo!

I know, I know, you're real into your music, and that's cool. Believe me, I understand. I'm the same way with my guitars. I just wasn't aware that they had stereo's for that kind of scratch. Guitars yes (and WAY more), but not stereo's.

I'll bet it sounds awesome though!

BTW, if you're into Climax's and other interesting things in N &Nn3, check this place out (just bring your wallet);

Spent the morning updating the gloetown website with a better presentation and new pics.

Now I have to get other house chores done. CFO is having a horrible time coping with the weather chages.

See you all later.

Good Afternoon Gang: Well here I am at work again eating lunch. Lunch would have been earlyer but had a conflab going on with the lady that does the costumes for the animations and the no2 man in entertainment about an outfit for the French Trader. He's a costume character that interacts with the guests in the park. There wasn't much going on with the MRRing yesterday. Mary ann and I spent most of the day cleaning the house. Our daughter is coming today with the granddaughters. One is 8yrs and the other is 6mos. Yes I am excited and yes I am going to run trains for them. Of course the baby won't be able to appreciate them but you got to start early.

Arrgo: Have you shown us a plan for your layout? I can't remember seeing one if you did. Ether way could you maybe lay one on us?

RT: That sounds like a plan getting the magazines. I usually take along Model Railroader, Trains, and whatever else I have that is of interest at the moment.

pcarrill: Those are great pictures of the critters and the Climax. I thought that they were HO at first.

Scott: That sounds like one heck of a sound system. When I got out of the army the flight surgeon told me that my ears werenot the best. He said not to worry but don't spend alot on a hegh end sound system.

Well I'm going to cut and run. I want to check some of the other threads before I have to go back to work.

Scott have you got the air horns fitted to your vehicle yet, you can buy a two tone train horn kit over here, trouble is it's about 4ft long, and you need an air compressor on board to work it. I got a new sterio free off the neigbour, he just got a new one and the old one was going to the dump so i claimed it !!

Good Afternoon. I’d like a root beer float, since we’re up to the 50’s (F) today here. Think I even saw the sun peeking through as I was on the way to the Shop.

On my health front, went to the opthalmologist Friday and things weren’t any worse on the eyes. Did the field of vision test (picture yourself looking in a white plastic dome, staring straight ahead, and you have to push a button every time a dot of light appears - but you can’t move your eyes). A rather tedious test, but necessary with my glaucoma to make sure no further deterioration has been happening. Will go back and see the Dr. again in six months. My ‘regular’ Dr. (not to be confused with a laxative doctor...) has me taking fish oil pills to help my cholesterol (which did go down since my last time seeing him). But so far, no medication required. I‘ll pass on those donuts, Indiana Bill - I need to lose another 30 lbs. or so. I don’t show it too badly because I’m 6’3”, but I definitely need to exercise and have been watching my eating more.

Hotshot Charlie - sounds like that HS might be the one, though I didn’t go looking for the Penal Farm, so I’ll take your word on that. [;)]

Paul, the Six Flags people don’t like ‘weathering’ on their exhibits? What kind of model railroaders are they, anyway? Oh, they’re not? [:O] And I believe you did say GDRF’in’, actually! [swg] Like your idea about a storm at one end of the layout - adds a little variety. Also gives an excuse to speed up the engines as you go by there, if you need one!

QUOTE: Originally posted by Fergmiester

[Afraid not Jim! I'll always be relegated to the basement! No, right now we're looking at building on top of the garage for Dad (approx. 450 sp ft.) and a sun room with extended deck on the back of the house. This will also double as a spring time green house[:D]
Aw, durn! Of course, (as *** already said), you could start a tunnel and extend things out under that new deck... Or with the green house, maybe you could have Lisa start a garden railway out there, huh? [swg]

Scott, whatcha gonna build with those chasses(chassises)? Model versions of some of your engines you’ve posted here? Go for it! Think your change for your prom date is a better choice there. [tup] On that (humongous) horn that you got, I’ll ask - you have checked into your local noise level ordinances, right? [;)] Wouldn’t want you to get a ticket for using that beauty! And do you have good windshield wipers on your car, in case the guy ahead of you has an... ‘accident’ and you need to clean off your car’s windshield? [:O] And, careful about any kiss-and-tell stuff on your date - it can come back to bite you in the **** later.[:-^][:-^][:-^]

Ah, OzJim, I see the ‘addiction’ has got you hooked! Pretty soon you’ll probably be ordering a hundred ore cars at a time, like Paul B. does. [swg] I know what you mean about your RR’s fleet of engines expanding - I think in the past year or two, I’ve gone from just two working engines (and a saddle tanker 0-6-0 that needs parts and some work on it) to 12, counting my RDC’s. [:O] Haven’t done inventory on my freight cars, but that’s increased too. I have several freight car kits to be completed (covered hoppers, boxcars, a flat or two, and 3 gondolas I just got off eBay). And I’m in an apartment, too - just think what I could do with more room or a basement! Good to hear that that cyclone missed your area. Oh, and for that Brisbane show, someone needs to make up a sign with LARGE letters to catch the other Shoppers’ eyes for meeting. I believe someone else here did that a while back, right? [:-^]

RT, will keep your surgery in my prayers (as I’m sure most everybody here will, too). [angel][angel] Thanks for the news on DavidJ611 - good to know he’s fine and accumulating some spare money for his MRR’ing. [:)]

Ed - I wouldn’t feel too badly about your MRR’ing - first, you keep the rest of us informed when we have questions, and second, your layout is MUCH further along than mine (and maybe others’ as well)! Besides, we’d keep you around here just for all those tankers of OJ that you keep sending up to the Shop! [tup] Now, that Metlac bridge and trestle - that’s one that might keep Fergie busy for his whole next sea trip! I don’t think I’m ready to tackle anything that big just yet. [;)]

Good to see that AggroJones has been in again. For those newer to the Shop (or who haven’t seen his work in another forum here), go check out the pics on his webpages - excellent weathering, and he is NO slouch at making the trees, either! [bow]

Matt, good to hear it was the transformer that got the worst of that encounter! [:O]

Greg - on that elusive calf of yours, have you considered a blowgun? [;)] Sounds like maybe the infection has corroded out her brain (or was she that bad before the infection started?) [(-D]

Nice photo of the diner, Indiana Bill! I was reading a book on diners at our local Hasting’s last week, and got some useful ideas for one I’ll be building (using an olde time passenger coach as the starting point). And are you working part-time for the local bakery, you rascal?

Fergie, I think Scott’s horn would be a bit oversized for his locos - he’s in Nearly invisible scale, remember? [swg]

DerJohn, thanks for reminding me to get my stuff ready. In addition to doing my taxes (thank Heaven for TurboTax), I need to get the license plates on my car renewed. Now where did I put the property tax papers!? [:O] Best wishes on a swift completion to your task there.[tup]

Hey, Luc - like the new look for the G&L pages! You must have good connections to get the GPD to share that photo of *** playing hobo! [;)]

Well, about caught up, so I need to head out for now. Want to do some work on the layout this afternoon. Probably will take a look at some of my engines to see what kind of maintenance I need to do with them, and then possibly try to cut the subroadbed for the roadbed level changes.

Hope everyone gets some progress done on your MRR. Will keep everyone’s health concerns in my prayers. Take care and have fun this weekend!

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

A rousing "Hello" from Bose.

PC: Nuts isn't it? $3000 for a surround sound system. But you know what's even more crazy?

I didn't pay a thing for it.[:D]

The system is mine on a "Bose Loan." The system is given to me to have for free as long as (A) I am with the company, (B) it stays in my possession, and (C) I am not given another system. If we were to get another Lifestyle system, I would either have to decline it, or pay for this one (at a reduced cost of course). It should be hooked up tonight.[:D]

I like those Aspen models. They are good looking, too bad I don't have that kind of money.

Paul: It is an excellent sound system. I play with it all day at work.[^] It's going to sound great in my bedroom.[:p] Sorry to hear about your ears. At least it'll prevent you from paying a lot for a sound system.

Steve: I found a place to buy refurbished Nathans three and five chime horns, but they were too large, expensive, and needed the onboard air system. My horns aren't installed yet, they'll be installed Wednesday. And I got my stereo free too.[8D]

Jim in CG: Hey, haven't heard from you in a while. I'm thinking about tinkering with the chassis, and yeah, building a few concept locomotives and all. Of course, project information will not be released. SB Locomotives, Incorporated's confidentiality policy. You know how these things go.[;)] And I won't be using the horn often, just if someone cuts me off or so.[}:)] If I'm not mistaken, 115dB is within MD's policy.
Oh, I'm not one to kiss-and-tell.[;)]

Break time is quickly ending, I'll talk to y'all later.[:D]

Hey folks,

Well, it's prom night for my daughter.... graduating senior. I guess I'll need some strong coffee to keep me up until she gets home.

Zoe and Cloe, add some caffeine to mine cup ! [;)]

Hey Jim from MO,
It was sort of creepy when I realized that I was driving into a prison. [:0] I did the quickest U-turn you could ever see ! [;)]

Well, at least the price is right! What a deal!

My brother has had a few deals like that happen, and so have I, but mostly for musical equipment. I stumbled onto the prototype for Godin guitar's radiator series of guitars. It's a bit different from the ones that they released in that it's in a color combo not ever available to the public and it has a set of prototype pickups that they almost got sued for so they never produced any more. The two pickups on this thing are the only two in the world and they sound incredible. My brother was in a major rock band called "Transmatic" and touring the country a few years ago and he had a deal with Ernie Ball guitars that said that he could have (read: KEEP) any of their guitars that he wanted, they'd even custom build for him, the only thing was, he had to play it on stage. He played a bunch of them! He also had a deal with Indian motorcycles that said he could buy any of their bikes at cost if he'd have his picture taken with it. A bike that cost you or I 20 grand was 6 or 7 thousand for him. Sweet deal!

Now you've got one of those sweet deals going on. Good for you! [tup]

QUOTE: I like those Aspen models. They are good looking, too bad I don't have that kind of money.

It's very sweet stuff, but too rich for my blood! I did order some of the snowplow blades from them though. Cast in brass and awesome detail for only $9.00 each. I got two. Ordered them on monday and had them in my hands by friday too!

Scott: Wow. I was thinking of how much train stuff you'd be out of from buying that stereo! Good thing you didn't have to pay for it.

JimRCGMO: Thanks.

Paul W. Beverung : The official SP&E drawings are somwere in my bedroom. In one of my many stacks of paperwork. If I can locate it, I take a picture and post it.

pcarrell: Yup, SP Blackwidow F unit dieseals. They're were used to replace Cab-forwards on the Donner line. Its all Espee, so its okay. [:D]

james saunders: I like that photo, as it clearly shows it's a bedroom layout. The man's clothes and mattress are visable! [(-D]

Attaboy: That sucks. Hope it works out for you.

HEY GUYS,
On page 968 never been this busy!
As I said looong time back Kelly is great and Emily has really taken to her meds and things are smoothing out. Been working soo much and been knocked off for a long while as a storm FRIED my battery back up/surge protector. It did its job so after 6yrs I guess I got my moneys worth.
Gonna try to catch up. Oh I,ve now repaired 8 American flyers so far.
