Well I was up to 279 presently at 250 scince 20 january now its slowing down but still coming off so I'll stick to my whatever diet that I'm doing the only rule is candy if at all once a week soda if at all once a week no pork, vvery little beef all the fish I want and same with poultry. eat my green beans as much as I can live with it. Of coarse eat salad as I can (I'm not a veggie eater but am trying to learn but not forcing myself as it will just turn me more against it)

Anyway its working and I'm happy. Feel a lot better now also.

Well not much happening this am as I've been told by cfo we need to stop spending on things like trains and all for a while as I'm going to be out of work for 2 - 4 weeks with no paycheck as I have no vacation time left and no sick time left at this point either. Oh well life goes on .

We will do okay just tighten the ole belt a little more and move on.

hope all enjoy this beautiful day it apears to be a little windy here but sun is out shinning . have to goto walley world today for shopping so thats going to be fun lol. (not )

Do need to get a virus protection for putor while there as been told by brother who install networks I can install the virus protection on my putor then put my old harddrive in as a slave drive and run the virus protection again but on that drive and then I can extract out of it the files I want[:D] that means I can get my photo's back and other things I lost like all my favorites that I now can't remember half of lol.

Well you all have a good day talk to you all later

It's been 2 weeks since my last visit...tooooo busy!!!

rtraincollector:

Go to this site: www.grisoft.com get AVG anti-virus, I've had this running on my computer (actually 3 Dells) works better than Norton or McAfee. It is free for single users and works very well..you must have it run daily, and it does auto-updates. Then load Spy Bot S & D (google for the site), and load Spy-Ware Blaster from a link on the spy-bot site...

You need all three...If you really need to spend $$ then get Spy Sweeper and let it run daily. I rarely get a hit, but I can control it off the computers right away.

You need SpySweeper for daily adware and spyware that gets through, and spybot is a cleaner for an after it hit and lodged within a running program file, and spyware blaster prevents a hit on your registry for active X programs.

This works on Win 2000 and XP all versions.

Believe me, these work and if you have a puter with adware and spyware (key clickers and trojan horse pgms on it already on it) no download will work. you must start clean, and trust only the original sites!

Also, run Firefox for your browser, and Thunderbird for email (similar to Outlook express). I'm not anti- MS products, but these work better than most.

Good luck..

Morning all -
How's everyone doing this morning? Good myself. Kinda chilly and cloudy out right now.

*** -
What's your prediction for the outcome of the game next Monday? Any chance we'll win the 1st game of the season v. Texas? Currently, Schilling has the nod to start. Heard he's been working on a few new pitches.

JimCG -
I can relate to the 'need to loose weight' issue. This past week in my Firefighter 1 class, I have come to the same conclusion. But I also need to do more weightlifting and get the muscles back to where they should be. Wearing the turnout gear and pack, while moving a average person while crawling on the floor takes alot of energy and strength. One thing I have started to do, is eat less.

Execpt for last night. Mom had us kids and our families over for dinner. Got to see my little (big) nephew. And he's only 9mths old. He'll be a ball player when he's older. Mom made homemade Chicken and Biscuits, salad, and veggies...corn and french green beans. Then came desert... Chocolate Mayonaise cake and ice cream. [^][tup]

Anyways, I'm sure some of you are wondering if I am there (mom and dad's) now since i'm online so early on a Sunday. Well, I'm home at my apartment. CFO got her new laptop last week and I now have the computer. Need to go buy a printer stand so I can get that all hooked up. No more running over to the library or to mom and dad's to come into the CS on off day's! [yeah]

Well, off to get groceries. Then I'll watch the race and go for a jog later on after it warms up some more. Tomorrow's a vacation day for me but I have to work on my correspondance course for work, so I might not stop in.

Take care and Happy MRR'ing!

Hello.

Nice day here today. Got most of my chore dome yesterday, this morning did the wash and will be getting a turkey on for dinner tonight.

I see a few new faces, welcome to all.

Now, remember I had a hobo (***) problem the other day? Well! He was escorted out of town but this morning he came back with a friend, I suspect that he and Fergie are working together and I have the pics too. Take a look.....

I just don't know what to do with these two.

Well time to get dinner on the go.

See you all later

Good morning everyone. I'm late in this morning, daughter had her senior prom last night and we all slept late. The prom was a success and I'm glad it's over (dad talking here). Now on to graduation...... ole dad will have a hard time with this. These kids grow up to fast.

I'll have a cup of Joe and read the paper this morning. Missed church today, I hate doing that.

Ya'll have a great Sunday !

I've NEVER had any trouble with the Avast anti-virus program but I did have downloading problems with Grisoft and Norton's is too expensive (read:rip-off) but it's YOUR money, not mine. I wouldn't recommend something harmful and running without anti-virus is just asking for problems but whatever. [;)]

Hi Gang: I just had lunch with the family in the park. If any of you get to Six Flags Over Texas eat at Gator McGees. The swamp burger is huge and real good. Mary Ann and I split one and it was more than enough for us.

I didn't get to the basement last night. We had to go to the airport to get our daughter and the granddaughters. There plane got in at 8:25pm and by the time we got the luggage and found out that the air line had left the crib in Albuquerque. We didn't get home untill very late. Woud you believe that it takes us longer to get to the airport than it takes them to fly from Albuquerque to Dallas?

Now I just have to find something to keep me going untill 2:30 and I'm on vacation.

I have an ampliefier that needs some work so I guess I'll go and pretend that I know how to fix it. (I have them fooled, I hope.)

Hi all

Not much happening here except rain. I've ordered another batch of metal wheels for the G scale fleet though, enough to rewheel all the cars with spoked wheels.

John, they seem to be popular in Japan – apparently people collect them and swap them (much in the same way as those collector card games), you don't know what paint scheme you're getting until you open the box. The store on the web link seems to have checked that part as they're specifying colours.

Rob, at this rate we'll have the best qualified fast food chefs in Europe – seems to be a lot of emphasis on academic rather than “hands on” training which is already resulting in a shortage of plumbers, electricians, etc. Good thing that building model trains gives you transferrable skills – fixing leaky taps is a doddle after fixing N scale mechanisms!

Scott, I think I've found a suitable airhorn, it's an all-in-one unit which just takes a 12V feed. Think there's a few things above it on the list though – want to get Polybushes and a Scorpion Racing suspension upgrade kit first, but can't do that until I find a proper job. One of my old schoolfriends (an IT graduate) has been on the hunt for over a year, so I'm kinda worried! Good deal on the stereo by the way – wish I came across things like that!

Jim, the offending transformer has now gone to the tip where it can't bite anyone else. Pity really, it was something of a piece of history even though it was downright lethal!

Bye for now

Good Evening, Chloe - I’d like a hot fudge sundae, and JP said he’d pay for my beverage tonight. [:)]

Today here, it got into the 50’s again, and the sun was completely out this time. [:)] Took a run up by my buddy Mark’s place (maybe 20 miles north) and helped him with a computer problem. He was trying to sign up with Match.Com and kept getting an error message after he’d fill in the form. Got him past that hurdle. He’s been building his house (started as a pole shed when he bought the land the farm is on), and it’s coming along pretty good. Mark's been working on it couple or three years, and it's coming along nicely. (He's been living in it for year and a half to two years). Mark also built a whopping huge fireplace (wood/cooking stove on one side, regular fireplace on the other) - and all this worked around his regular job (driving a dump truck, hauling stuff, some construction jobs and occasional jobs for people who can’t always afford to pay him).

Aggro, pay no attention to Phillip C. there - he just hasn’t got bit with the diesel bug (yet), unlike some of the rest here who (at one time or another) have been bit. Like, say,... Fergie [:-^][:-^][:-^]

RT - does your work have a deal where co-workers can donate ETO (earned time off) for you? I just donated some for one of my co-workers who’s out for 30 days. Had to fill out a form for our personnel dept., but that was all. Might be worth asking - you may be surprised if it’s a possibility for you.

Indiana Bill! - you’re gonna blimp us up with always bringing in those donuts... Give us a break, please! [:O][;)]

Figured I’d come in and nudge us a little closer to the magic mark, whoever ends up getting the right guess. [yeah]

Everyone take care of yourselves and I’ll see you later in the week. [:)]

Blessings,

Scott:
QUOTE: The system is mine on a "Bose Loan." The system is given to me to have for free as long as (A) I am with the company, (B) it stays in my possession, and (C) I am not given another system. If we were to get another Lifestyle system, I would either have to decline it, or pay for this one (at a reduced cost of course). It should be hooked up tonight.
Sweet! We’ve just watched “Ruthless People” again. (our daughter loaned it when she was down with the grandchildren for the Spring break a week ago) I trust that you don’t use the methods employed by the sound system salesman in that movie! [}:)][:O][:o)][:-^]

RT: that’s good news on recovering those photo files. Hope it works out for you. Handy to have your own personal computer expert.[tup]
Agge’s right. More fruit can work wonders. Good luck with the veggies. We eat far more than we used to. As you say, slide in slowly. On the salad thing, have you tried spinach rather than lettuce?
Praying for you about the surgery.[angel]

Mike:
QUOTE: works better than Norton or McAfee.
Just curious, how would a person know that? I’m using Norton, how would I know something else is “better”?[:D] I got caught the other day with an Active X malware thingy, but was able to put Spyware Doctor on, and that nixed it.[tup] Since that malware was a program rather than a virus, Norton didn’t do anything about it, and I wouldn’t have expected it to.

Steve: Glad to hear your glaucoma is stable. You’ll be checking back with eye dr. before 5 years, I would imagine.

Time for TV. Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers continuing for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.[angel]

Good Evening All,
End of a busy weekend. Got a little of everything done. Now have finished (enough) gravel company and cement storage. The question now is do I turn the river beneath the two bridges into a gravel pit, or just carry on and pretend the gravel comes from off site. I'm tending towards running the pit tracks where the river is since I'm not crazy about the way the river ended up, and the "dam" at the head of the river can just as easily become a rock wall with a little sculptamold and paint. I already have the 44 Tonners for shunting open hoppers around. Tempting.
Did my safety test at the museum this afternoon so I can continue to do yard work. Aced it. I am now eminently qualified to scrape paint.
For what it's worth I use the McAfee program and that firewall thingee Matt mentioned and between them they have prevented any huge puter trauma taking place.
My prayers to those in need, and I hope those recovering continue to make good progress. Scott - hows your grandfather? Did I miss any further reports?

Well that's it for now. Got to get my beauty sleep as this next weeks going to be busy indeed. CUL, [:D] J.R.

Quick evening stop for a cup (decaf, please, Chloe).

Anyone heard from Mike (Inch53) recently? After Jerry mentioned it, I realized I hadn't seen any recent posts from Inch as I was going through the posts. Hope he's not laid up with a cold or something, and just tied up with babysitting duties.

Well, I'm heading out before it gets too late for me,

Good morning All,
Regular to go please. I see Bill beat me in again. So Bill how so you keep the signal flags out of the morning coffee? Or for that matter off the big Ouija board full of switches.
Speaking of switches, no 44 Tonners yet at the museum. after fixing a switch (missing handle) at electric boat, they ended up having a low boy 3 feet too short to transport it. Back to the drawing board.[:(] And for me back to work. [:D] CUL, J.R.

Still mornin, coffee please Zoe
Well, I still be around, just not had much to say last few days. Good ol uncle arther's been visting and grand kids has made life less than interesting.
Not much going on round here anyway. Did get some rail fanning pics from Effingham Saturday to post laters in a day. Also got 3 more collector autos from Walmart, I'd been wanting.
Sunday was suppose to go down to Crawlford County for the 1'st flea market of the year, but was huting to bad to walk that much. Bryan did pick me up 2 boxes of RR magazine for me. MR's, Model craftmans, and some others going back to 1975 for $3.

Luct , been seeing some pics of your HOBO problems out yur way. A year ago, there was some going ons here. The police got a photo, but never caught him.

Right now I only have 2 grandkids and they think it's lunch time,[ fingures not working good anyway ], so till laters all

Well I'm getting second thoughts about it but you know and so do I its because I have so much time to think about it instead of it happening right a way I hate having to wait for an operation..

Oh well just one more week to go crazy then it will be done.
