Evening Gang:

Colby: My nick name was Skip, Skipper, or Skippy. I went through school as Skippy Peanut Butter. Yes it did get to me once in awhile. That's probably why I was a kind of loaner. I did have alot of friends I just picked carefull. Later on when I was flying as an aircraft commander in the Army the name Skipper was welcomed by myself. I did also get a fair amount of teasing about my hobby. I do remember that once one of the guys that teased me got me asside and asked some very pointed questions about the hobby. I thought he really liked the thought of getting involved but he never did. So just hang in there and remember that those that tease might be jellious of your abilities. It takes courage to stick with your belifes. By the way I took the MRRing to Viet Nam. I built 2 layouts there.

My day was a busy one. We're getting the shop ready for a new project. Building ammo cases, 500 to be exact.

Good Evening All,

Yup the surf and turf for me please. It's been a long day and I'm just now heading out.

Happy B-Day [bday] Jerry and many more as well. The time does fly doesn't it? Our prayers for Sallie hope she's chipper for Thanksgiving and has a blast.

Hoople - that switcher doesn't go up hill worth a darn, but downhill it flies.Wink [;)]

Colby - It doesn't matter what your interests or hobbies might be, some idiot can make a joke of it. If it's your friends and it's harmless, you can laugh along with them. If the teasing is mean, best to just ignore it or who ever it is will be encouraged. If it continues and gets out of hand, tell your parents and if it's at school report it. There is a lot more awareness about bullying nowadays.

Time to beat feet - lots more left for tomorrow and I don't want that surf and turf to get cold waiting for me at the dinner table. CULBig Smile [:D],J.R.

Hey, I used to get that a lot, don't sweat it. Most of the time they do it because you're doing something they think can't do because of some stupid macho reason.

Good morning everyone...brrrrrr a cold 34.7F this morning. It is completely cloudy. No big storms in sight before the holiday, but the weather forecasters are watching that LOW off the Carolinas real closely. Northern New England has snow falling in isolated areas, so we have enough cold air to support a snow storm here.

The wife and I went Christmas shopping on Saturday and again on Sunday, we have learned NOT to go the day after Thanksgiving nor that weekend at all. We saw all the young teenagers and 20's sitting on the cold sidewalks, all bundled up, waiting for PS3 and other video games to arrive.......PRIORITIES !!!!!!!!?????

I'm glad I put the outside decorations up last week when it was in the 60's, it is raw out and will stay that way for quite a while I think.

MAN O War: Phil, we are so sorry to hear the news about your health......as others have said before me, we are here for YOU, ANYTIME, please come to the CS when you need to talk buddy. And, we will continue to pray for you each and every day.

RYAN: That is so gratifying to hear that you escaped that terrible weather. I fear that with Global Warming and all the Climatic changes that it is causing, we will continue to see weather conditions in parts of the country and into Canada, that were never very common.

CAPE JIM: Glad you enjoyed the poem, I received it from a friend that I met on a train three years ago in NH, he lives in CA.

MIKE: The Pellet stove ran all night last night. I set the temp control back a few degrees, but that room is in the NW corner of the house, and is the coldest room of the house, so it runs constantly when the temps drop below 30F

JEFF: Glad to see you are back and GL levels are normalized to the extent that they can be. I'm sure that David is relieved. Please be careful when driving Jeff, blackouts can come ON so suddenly.
A little chilly in Leesville this morning Jeff? Aren't the low 30's a little uncommon for LA in November?

Well, time to get some work done around here, see you guys at lunch time,
Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Hey Dan: I'll try and remember to call you Dan, but for those of us with Half Heimers could you put that in your sig, Please?

I just stopped in for a quick one and have to head back out.

Hopple: Don't give up on the 0-8-0. Try it and see what it will do for you. You might try adding a little weight. Just don't over do it. For experimenting take some weight and place it on top of the boiler. If it works then put it in the loco. If it doesn't yuo haven't got the loco apart.

Take care everyone.

Good morning fellow Coffee Shop patrons!

Nice to see you lurking in the shop Duke! I know how you feel; I’ll have to join you in the quiet corner sometime! Say hello to all the good folks up your way for me, and you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ed thanks again for the fresh OJ shipments, always appreciated especially at this time of year. Hope all is well with you and Fran South of the Border! The trip El Norte sounds like a good time to stock up on LHS supplies too. Have a great trip and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Started our Christmas shopping this past weekend, the mall was crazy busy on Saturday, so I wonder how it will be next weekend with the real shopping crowds start hitting the stores?

My step son Bryan flew in on Saturday night for the Thanksgiving Holiday and we have been entertaining him all weekend.

Welcome to all the new faces here in the CS! Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Inch, congratulations on getting another photo of the week mention! You are getting to be celebrity on the rail photo circles. Glad to hear that Becky is doing better too!

Chuck and Kathy, glad to hear all is better and healing now and hopes that you are both feeling better too!

RYAN: We just saw the results of the Tornado that struck NC just west of Wilmington, what a terrible storm, 9 people dead, 4 little kids in critical condition. Trailer parks are really dangerous places to be when any severe wind storms hit, absolutely no protection at all. Glad to see that your area was spared.

Dick, Ben was home alone that day and he was scared because the electricity went out for about 5 minutes, luckily we just had a lot of rain and wind. Nice side effect from all that wind on Thursday was now most of the leaves are blown off the big oak tree in the back yard, and we got about 4 ½ inches of rain. The creek in the back was rushing and just about only 6 inches away from the top of foot bridge. Also, nice poem/story, thanks for sharing it, I will be forwarding it too.

Paul, sorry to hear about the cow from the other day. The mine shaft project looks like it is coming along nicely. And good news on the eye exam.

Neal, thanks for thinking of us up here, the poor souls near the coast did not fair well. We send our thoughts and prayers to them all. That holiday menu sounds really good, you cooking all that too?

RT, love that cartoon! LOL Reminds me of those Chic Filet commercials.

David, sorry to hear about Jeff, hope he is better soon.

Fergie, great news on your dad’s recovery and good timing too for getting out of the hospital.

Welcome back Jeff, glad to see you are feeling better now! Eating regular healthy snacks between main meals might help with keeping the levels straight.

Prayers for Phil MOW!

Jim, any progress on the layout is progress in my mind! I even count when I read an article or spend 10 minutes here or there on something as progress toward the layout. The only race I am in is with myself, seeing as how I have spent the last 20 years in “dream” mode, and another 2 years in “planning” mode, and now only 6 months in “build” mode.

Cheers,

Ryan

Morning Gang: I'm still having problems with PeoplePC.  The same thing that I thought was fixed. I didn't mess with it yesterday because it was late by the time I got in. Ranching is fun. Repeated until I believe it.

Phil MOW: Hang in there friend. We would be in sad shape without you. Remember We're all pulling for you, keep your stick on the ice.

Fergie: Your dads on the list too. I hope that he gets the weight back soon. Bring him some real food will help not only put on weight but his sperits too. I can't see gaining on hospital food.

Inch: Its' good to hear that things are going well for your people too. Great pictures. I'lll second GMTs thoughts on that steam crane. If he does that " I know nothing."

Jeff: I read you getting back post and started huming the Guadacanle March. Does that make up for the lack of the band. It's SOOOO good to have you back.

Well I've got to go and do some work. I'll see you all later.

Good morning everyone. How are things?

NeO: Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Jeff: I never had a problem with the drive rods. 90% of my steam is Mantua believe it or not. Currently I’m working on tricking them out with a few details from IHC and replacing the can motors.

Well it’s off to work I go….
