Hey guys! Wasn't in here yesterday because I had a meeting of my model railroad club. I set up my module with the layout we are going to be displaying at a show in Monroe, Wis. at the end of September. Everything worked well, and things are all set in motion for the show. Now my last task it to get the motor for the turntable installed and working, and I'll be all set to go. Should be a lot of fun.

Just a quick drop in, I got a PM email from Der John with a recipe request. First time checking email since Friday, so here is the Garlic Herb Broiled Shrimp recipe:
Garlic Herb Broiled Shrimp
Ingredients
2 lbs. Shrimp, 30 count size peeled and de-veined with tail on, thawed and drained
¼ lb Butter, melted
1 cup Olive oil
1 bulb Fresh Garlic, minced (about 2-3 tablespoons)
½ tbsp Fresh basil, chopped
½ tbsp Fresh sage, chopped
½ tbsp Fresh thyme, chopped
½ tbsp Fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tsp Garlic salt (or to taste)
1 tsp Ground cayenne pepper or Cajun spice mix (or to taste)
Procedure
Have the shrimp ready and in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl combine the melted butter and olive oil, and then add the fresh chopped garlic, fresh chopped herbs, and add salt and pepper and stir well to mix. (Adjust the salt and pepper to your own taste preference)
Pour the melted butter olive oil herb mixture over the shrimp in the bowl and stir well to coat all the shrimp evenly.
Preheat broiler and place rack within 6 inches of heating element or broiler flame.
Place the shrimp onto a flat baking sheet pan and spread the shrimp evenly within the pan.
Place the shrimp in the pan under the broiler and turn then pan after 4-5 minutes for even cooking. When shrimp appear pink and done or after another 2-3 minutes remove them from the broiler.
Transfer the shrimp and all the juices to a serving platter, and serve with warm crusty bread. The herb butter makes a great bread dipping sauce.
Enjoy!
*Note: I like my shrimp a bit spicier so I do add more salt and spice mix to the garlic butter herb mixture.
Cheers,
Ryan

Don't know how he will do, it's the first time away from famaily and he doesn't know any body there, might get interesting for a few days.
PC, the only thing I can tell you is , don't worry to much bout what other people think. It only cause's headaches and sleepless nights, they're going to think what they do, no matter anyhow, found that out a long time ago. It'll all work out in the end anyway.
DER, glad to hear your daughter is doing betters, and the problem wasn't to bad. We're still keeping ya'll in our thoughts.
GUMBY, I've been an old geezer for years according to the grandkids anyway. Kinda proud of surviving long enough to be one, enjoy it.
Time for some Sunday pics, from up to Monticell Railway museum. After we our ride, we drove up so, we didn't have to worry bout catching the last train to town. First engine we saw was a Tank engine
Next an 0-6-0, then a 4-6-0, both waiting restoration
Then, we seen seem this setting in front of the shop.
Turns out it was the old boiler off a 2-8-0, beening restored. this one shows it setting on the frame
I had some more pics inside, but for some reason, none came out good enough to post. Nothin really planned for today, do know Mother going to get some peaches we got into the freezer not much else. Think I'll go play in the train room awhile. Hope ya'll has a good day

Hello guys,
I just wanted to stop by real quick. The CFO is taking a nap on the couch.
DER sorry to hear about your daughter. My prayers go out to the family
P.C. WOW sorry to hear about that whole mess. I think it stincks (the laws) but I do understand why they have them now. I dont agree but I uunderstand..
Im not retiring from the Navy. I wouldnt mind it. But I am leaving with 8 years left. I guess its not the same Navy as I joined 12 years ago. And like I had said it was time for me to move on. I want to be a full time dad. They just extended our out to sea time to 5 years. That with the pay and benny's being cut buy the time I would have retired I wouldnt be makeing anything that would be worth staying in.
ANYWAYS...
Had a great day out with the family today went to Williamsburg to do some shoping and eating. If any of you get a chance to go to williamsburg I would take it. I love it there. I went out and bought a nice camera so I can do some railfanning (I hope) A lot of CSX and NS around here.
I hope you guys have a nice Sunday and I hope to catch up with you guys later.

Yeah, "tropical" it is! And even though this year hasn't (yet) seen as much rain as normal, we've still had enough that the grove is doing fine, even without a watering system. When we transplanted the pishtachio trees the other day the ground was dry on top but moist just a few inches down.
Off to bed.

Good evening Everyone, I finally have my mounatin tunnel conpleted just have to addthe last coat of "water" to the stream. I wasn't sure if I should run the waterfall into a river or lake and finally decided on a lake, so have lake a shaped out and 1st coat of "water" on it I figure it will take 1 or 2 more caots to make it beliveable( i am still working on getting some decent photos but my camera isn't behaving< may be time for a new one>)
Well have a good evening all
Gumby4 wrote:Hey Phil, I wouldn't worry about the delete thread. Just know that we are all on your side and praying for the best possible outcome.P.S. BBS stands for Bulletin Board System.
Cool, thanks
Thanks for the heads up Ed. I noticed it was gone too. It looked like it was getting to be a political debate when I looked at it this afternoon. I posted on there to tell everyone to keep it on topic. I checked back a few minutes ago and it was gone. Oh well. I edited my earlier post here in the coffee shop and deleted the story as I'm not sure why it was killed in the big room. It might have been because of the political angle. But I hadn't really thought about it, but it is an open and active case, so maybe the management deleted it for that reason. Anyways, I don't want to cause any trouble to the forum or this coffee shop, so I deleted it in the coffee shop myself.
Der, good to hear everyone is on the mend. Prayers are continually going out for you and yours.
Oh, and don't worry about the tab on this one. I've got it!
Goodnight all!
Evening Gang: I picked up the Gracer Gravel kit tonight. I'm going to makes copies of the kit parts as they are on the sprues. Then I can past them on poster board and cut out and change as needed. I'll use these to work out the final kit bash. I figure that I can get 2 maybe 3 different mines out of the 2 kits and some extra odds and ends.

Hello all,
Not much to report from down here SOB. Spent a lot of time out at the orange grove this week. It's hot as all get out down here, and humid too. None of this "dry heat" stuff down here.
PC, really sorry to hear about your bad experience railfanning. No great words of wisdom or advice, just a little empathy from here. Btw, looks like your thread out on the main forum has been deleted.
derJohn, sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope she gets her meds straightened out.
Unfortunately, the Boston Red Sox have had their butts handed to them by the hated Yankees in three games. Dropped both ends of a doubleheader yesterday, 12-4 and 14-11 (set a record for the longest 9 inning game in baseball history). And today they went down in flames 13-5. I'm getting an early jump on "penance" (as opposed to "pennant") season.
Hasta luego
Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers for our daughter. This is very much appreciated. Seems she had a 15 minute Grand Mal seizure with a possible concussion. Probable cause; not taking a calcium supplement, as it makes her nauseous. It’s a high dose too, so it must be like eating bricks just to get it down, and it's every day...Yuk!!
In consequence of all this, and Kris not being too well just now either, nor her mom,(although both are on the mend) very little in the way of mmr these days.

Happy Birthday Hoople. So how old does that make you?
It's about time to head for the house. I've got to make a couple of stops on the way. First at the lhs to pick up a Glacer Gravel and then at Verision to find out why folks who are calling me are told to dial 1 first.
PC: Good move on getting the lawyer. The person that tries to defend himself has a fool for a client.
I just noticed the otherday that I went over 1000 posts. It isn't as much fun as when we had the stars.
I'll see you all later.
Good afternoon all -
PC - Sorry to hear about your experiences at the local railyard. I wish I could say that my experience yesterday was just as eventful so you could have company in that situation, but I can't. What I can tell ya is that I went to the rear parking lot of the local Tractor Supply Center yesterday afternoon and got some shots of a eastbound CSX intermodal on the passing siding about 10' from the lot. As the lead engine past, the engineer waved at me.
As for those pics, unfotunately the camera is a film one and not digital. Plus, it was the 1st few pics on the new roll so it will be awhile before I get the roll developed and pics posted. But, once I do, I'll provide links to them.
Der - Thoughts and paryers and well-wishes for your daughter and family. Hope all is well.
OK all, time for me to go and watch my Red Sox loose another one to those bums from the Bronx.
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Morning folks , just a quick passing throuhg for me today.
PC -Man that tale truly sucks for you , one does not expect such treatment in your own country. Such are the times we live in though I'm affraid.I'm sure that the apology will go along way to avoiding any further unpleasantries , espeacially given the reaction of the city police officer.I'm just glad that similar things don't happen here in Canada. Mind you we stay to the station plateforms asnd the public bridges etc. Most of the RR's up here won;'t give yard access permission anymore, more for safety of the crews and photgraphers than for anything else ( alot of RC switchers used up here now )We'll pray for you and hope that the best comes out of it.
Der-I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's difficulties. Hopefully they get to the bottom of it soon and she can get on with her daily routines. We'll keep her in our thoughts and prayers.
Well folks like I said just a quick one today, heading on into the big smoke to work, catch everyone later.
Rob
Morning all!
Haven't slept well the last couple of nights due to recent events. I'm not so upset about what might happen, that's in the hands of God and I trust Him completely. I just find myself uneasy when people don't understand something I've done or said, you know? Oh well, I guess I'll get my chance to fix that later. I just hate that people have a misconception of me in the meantime.
Zoe, How about a good breakfast this morning? I can use it! You decide, I'll eat whatever you put in front of me.
Hey, a mexican omlet, thanks Zoe! You're the greatest!
Der,
I'd like you to know that your daughter and family have been prayed for and that will continue. That's a scarry thing.
Gumby4 wrote:Good morning all!PC : Praying for you too bro. Do take heart. Your post certainly has the BBS up in arms. That thread is so deleted, the question is when.
BBS? British Broadcasting Service?
As to deleting the thread, that'd be OK. I don't think that it's gotten out of hand and warrents that, but if that's the action that the leadership of this forum wants to take, so be it. I'm actually quite happy with the way that basically everybody has responded to that thread. Nobody flew off the handle and went completely haywire, which is always a possibility when something like that gets posted. I even hesitated posting it for that reason. I knew in the CS here that cool heads would prevail, but out in the big room things can get freaky sometimes, you know. But in this case it seems that most everybody has been pretty levelheaded about it all. It does kind of skirt the politics issue though. But it's very train related and a good warning to others. I suppose in that sense it has it's usefulness.
All,
Well, I don't think I'll go railfanning this morning like I usually do on Saturdays. Don't quite know why (), but it just doesn't hold the same charm that it once did for me.
I think I'll just go surf the web for a while.
Prayers go out for all the needy (that's everyone!).
Later!
